Malmaison Brighton

Parking in a multi-story was open to public for surrounding businesses but Malmaison Brighton had the sixth floor dedicated space. Staff were very helpful, friendly. all clean and tidy, and the room was just right, quiet and comfortable.

Entrance not clearly signed - difficult to access.

Quite difficult to find the main entrance but apart from that enjoyed staying here. Had a great view of the marina from our room and found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is well situated with a number of restaurants/cafes nearby and free parking in Brighton is very unusual! Only downside if you could call it that is it’s about 2 miles from the centre of Brighton. However I’d certainly recommend it.

Fantastic bar with views over the Marina and great steak restaurant. Comfortable rooms, good price.

Well positioned hotel inside the Brighton Marina complex, above the shops and bars. Room was comfortable and nicely designed. Small issue with shower drainage in my room, but everything else fine. Onsite parking was actually the Marina’s own multi storey which is free for all visitors to the Marina. Hotel food options looked relatively expensive for a non- business traveller, but plenty of options around close to the hotel. Professional staff at check made this is nice overnight experience.

Loved the view of the marina and the private balcony, lots of dining options underneath the hotel an a massive Asda across the road which was handy. Amazed the parking was free compared to what other areas of Brighton charge. Look forward to staying again.

First of all, the bed... OMG, how comfortable? The mattress, the pillows, the sheets - just wow! We did not want to get up. There was an issue with the bifold doors and Michaela from the cleaning staff got us a handyman, Jackie, within 5 minutes. A friendly, happy chap, he fixed it, coming back while we were out. The balcony and view of the marina was such a treat. The only issue we had was no EV charging points - the ones at ASDA are out of commission. Such a shame in a place that advertises as being green. Other than that, perfect. We will be back.

We have stayed at this hotel twice before, once when it was Hotel Seattle and again just prior to covid when it had been rebranded Malmaison. We booked this hotel because of our previous experience - very good. However things have changed! The room was dirty - there was mould around the shower, the bench seat below the tv was stained and one of the buttons was missing its cloth, and one of the glasses provided for water had the imprint of lips on the rim. I have made a complaint but not had courtesy of a response - still waiting. The location of the hotel is very good. It is overlooking Brighton Marina and there is free parking on the adjacent multi-storey car park. You can drop off luggage and then park unfortunately when we stopped there were cars parked on loading bay that did not move and one of the hotel lifts was out of order. There are a variety of restaurants and fast food outlets at Brighton Marina including a Harvester and a Weatherspoons. ASDA is close by. Parking in Brighton is very expensive so parking at the Marina for free is a good option. It cost £10 each way for a taxi, there is a good bus service and you can walk to the Volks Railway.

Room was very clean and comfortable But they was building work with scaffolding outside our window, but we were given coffee machine and extras for the inconvenience, which we were happy with

Found a used plaster in the shower and a large amount of phlegm on top of the shower drain. Other than that everything else was ok

Our room had a smell when we entered like a stale dirty cloth had been used, also I had to ask for our table on the terrace to be cleaned.

Nice clean room which unfortunately wasn’t vacuumed during our 2 night stay which is quite noticeable on a wooden floor, really good breakfast

Not really the usual malmaison standard in my opinion. The communal areas of the hotel were tired with broken lifts, patches of worn carpet and damaged wall finishes. Our room was also slightly tired with damaged fixtures and very mouldy shower tray and grout.

I was disappointed, I paid a reduced fee for an upgrade and now wish that I’d stuck to my original room. I found the bed uncomfortable, lumpy in places. The room wasn’t very clean, it had a dirty floor, my partners black top was covered in dust after we removed it from one of the high shelves. The seating had little bits of debris around the stitching and buttons. The bathroom and balcony were lovely. I was disappointed that there were too few supplies for our drinks, only 2 tea bags for 2 adults for the entire stay. The fridge was not working and didn’t keep anything cold. I was disappointed to have paid the amount of money that I did. I paid more as it was a special occasion and felt it was an average stay

Great location and great hotel! However the air conditioning is non-existent, despite setting the air conditioning in the room accordingly it did nothing.

Excellent room in an excellent location. Can’t fault anything the staff were friendly and approachable and I had one of the best sleeps I’ve ever had in my life.

The hotel is far smaller that we expected and a few mins walk from the multi storey car park. Reception was staffed by a nice guy, good service etc. the rooms however are really small and not what I would expect for £200 a night. Overall disappointing and wouldn’t stay again.

Black mould round the windows in room. Rooms very dark. Unnecessary black shelving in the room making it feel cramped. No light by the main door so too dark to see yourself in the full length mirror by the door. So much noise coming from other rooms if people talking, showering using the toilet etc.. Long walk to town at night with zero lighting. Felt really unsafe. Won’t stay here again.

Stayed here many times. Great location and lovely hotel, only issue this time was that the air conditioning was not working/affective.

When we walked into the hotel room, we both said wow! Bed good night sleep, bathroom choice of raindrop or hand held showers, all bathroom requirements supplied. Room had coffee machine and kettle plus various drinks and biscuits supplied.Tv had sky sports and terrestrial channels. Outside veranda with seating and a bonus of veranda doors completely opened up giving a great view overlooking the marina from inside the room. The room also benefitted from air conditioning. Cannot comment on food as we ate out for all our meals. Now we have stayed at another top hotel near the pier and we feel that the Malmaison hotel was so much better.

Good location and bed. AC, tv and fridge didn’t work. TV and fridge was fixed during the stay. The hot weather made the room really stuffy without the aircon

Room was nice, but considering we paid for a deluxe room we were disappointed to find a door joint our room to the next room along. Because of this we could hear every noise they made when in the room.

Twrrible. Worst hotel I've experienced for years. People in next rooms were partying all night and were v.loud. walls like paper. Car park a long outdoor/exposed walk in heavy rain. I will never stay at a Malmaison again.

Always a lovely stay at Malmaison. Staff are great. Service exceptional. Ordered room service for the first time as busy with work and the food was amazing.

The hotel is great. Very clean and has an elevated contemporary feel for the price. Check in was phenomenal with a special shout out to Sam, who was fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and although the food was excellent and the staff really lovely, it was clear that they were very short staffed, as it took ages to order, I waited 30 minutes for my drink, and the food took a very long time to arrive. We ate a starter and main and, were seated for over 2 hours. I asked for the bill as soon as our main course arrived as feared we’d be there 3 hours! The staff were apologetic and they couldn’t have done more with the few that were there.

Lovely hotel, very nice room. Liked the tea/coffee facilities in the room - coffee bags and nespresso. Also they offered free drinks vouchers for the bar if you forgoe having housekeeping. Staff lovely, nice stylish decor. Ellie was particularly helpful, made us feel very welcome.

Reception staff were great reallly welcoming and helpful.

Hotel was fabulous, staff were so friendly and welcoming and the customer service we had from Connor the Manager was first-class. Staff are all hard working and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely return.

Connor was amazing - all staff incredibly friendly. They made the stay wonderful, from check in to breakfast next morning the entire experience was fantastic.

Room ready nearly an hour after check-in time, with no drink or anything offered while we were forced to wait. Room was nice, but apart from the view, didn’t warrant the cost. Fluffy robes that were promised, weren’t at all fluffy and too small for the average person. Paint marks on the shelf in the bathroom. Meals were good value and the staff were lovely, but service was painfully slow for breakfast. Overall, we had a nice stay but not the service I would expect for four stars and the money paid.

Checking in took longer than hoped, one person on reception who was on the phone, then another check in in front of us. Our room was bigger than we thought it was going to be, might have been upgraded but was very dark with a small window. Much further out from Brighton pier than we thought. Had to get xa bus in which ran frequently. Was told when dropping case in the morning that depending on walking speed can take between 20-50 minutes to walk in. First night we tried to get drinks in bar before heading out.took a long time so half way through first we ordered more. There was an event on and they were coming through to bar to order cocktails so us as residents were having to wait. We had to cancel 2nd drink as had table booked in town. Our room, 332, had in interconnecting door with 334. At 2.45am we were woken but 2 loud men who had just got back. It was like they were talking in our room. They then had showers and it was so noisy. This went on until 3.30. The next morning the loud talk started at 8.30. I recorded it, so much swearing including the 'c' word lots. Went to reception and the manager was sympathetic and said they'd checked out but new arrivals were due. She offered for us to move rooms which we did. It seems the lack of sound proofing is known as she said they had tried to resolve it but it didn't work. That night there was a wedding so we didn't bother trying to get a drink. But no noise from new room so got a full night's sleep. Wouldn't stay here again

I stay in hotel every week and this hotel was the worst- checked into a room with people still in bed - no other room available Then another room found with two fans in the room - strangely we could get the air con to work - apparently no issue before ( even though fans everywhere Terrible service with staff who didn’t care - breakfast shocking - avoid at all costs

Excellent stay, didn’t have breakfast as leaving early but had meal night before and whilst I thought was expensive was lovely. Receptionists were helpful Conor was exceptionally good thankyou

It was my lack of research that I didn’t realise it was outside the centre of Brighton. The whole marina village area is quite soulless. However the rooms were super comfortable and quiet and you can catch the bus into town easily.

Not the most inviting hotel and certainly not the best Mal I’ve stayed in. That said, it was clean and the staff were very friendly. Comfortable beds and a nice location overlooking the Marina. Quite a way out of Brighton but the bus service is excellent from just outside.

A bit remote, taxi or bus to the town centre. Interesting location though and a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Great location and places to eat around

Nice hotel in a good location on the marina. Plenty of free parking across the road and lots of options for evening meals in the marina area. Comfortable rooms if on the smaller side. Small but well designed bathrooms and nice shower. Friendly and helpful check-in. Overall a good choice for staying on the edge of Brighton.

Its out of Brighton town centre but a no 7 bus runs every 5 minutes at a cost of £ 2-00 from outside the hotel and the Marina has plenty of restaurants and the view to make a nice change from the city .

Hotel was good - but I was not a fan of the area. It’s part of the Marina complex which is a bit of weird outpost and cut off from the rest of the city. A selection of chain restaurants but all a bit soulless with an ugly multi-storey car park (free at least) and a huge Asda to welcome you. Hotel was absolutely fine but I won’t return due to the overall location which was not for me

Check was smooth & very welcoming. Even a little treat of a cocktail for my birthday. Room was amazing, cracking view (was a shame about the weather but that can’t be helped) Evening meal was delicious, shame the waitress didn’t know what she was doing or what we could order. Did leave us worried for the morning as made to sign an expensive bill. Cocktails were lush & the bed was soooo comfy. Breakfast was again delicious & service a 1000% better. Check out was easy & thankfully no large bill & the Lovley girl apologised for the night before. Deffo recommend the Malmaison when staying in Brighton. Stayed in a view Malmaison & this is the nicest to date.

Great hotel, when ordering breakfast ask for beans. Although they are part of the full English breakfast menu they do not serve the beans with the breakfast.

One receptionist kept me waiting over 5 minutes while talking to a contractor, which I would have thought the contractor would have waited for a guest to be dealt with first, and the breakfast was very poor... left most of it.

The accommodation was fine. We went to the restaurant 2 nights and both nights the food was very average, staff was slow and waited 25 minutes for a drink, when we complained the Manager advised to tell us he was short staffed like that was our problem, he would of been better to just apologise.
