Langford Hotel, Brighton & Hove

The bathroom is very very small, the room was massive though, Definitely the bathroom room needs to be bigger, also mind the setup in the bathroom It's Victorian room, The price was reasonable Parking is not free outside during day time until 8pm 9am-8pm , on the website said it was free parking Bed was comfortable Pillows right size for me

Property was quite basic but clean. In a good location for walking to the sea front & shopping areas. There was reasonably priced parking directly outside the property which was one of my main criteria’s as travelling by car

Apart from the location, there is not much positive to say about the property. There is no designated parking as advertised, only off street parking. The paint in the room is peeling off, the window was opened and could not be closed. There are the essentials in the room but definitely overpriced.

Staff were very helpful in securing me parking, opening up the room a little ahead of normal check-in. Night staff on duty all night, which was reassuring arriving back after a full day at conference. Shops a short walk away with frequent buses into central Brighton. Room was well fitted out, very quiet. The new owners know that the whole hotel needs a bit of tlc. I wish them luck in building it up. No breakfast facilities, but a little restaurant a few doors down which was busy!

The parking arrangements are non existent - beware! I specifically filtered hotels with parking facilities - they give the impression they have their own parking available - its simple street parking, which you pay for via an app. It's not clear which app - but it's PayByPhone in Brighton&Hove The shower area in the bathroom had not been cleaned properly - there were shaving clippings stuck to the tiling in the shower. The decor in the hotel generally inside looked tired and old and worn. The fire alarm randomly went off about 10pm prompting panic and screaming and a general hub bub which carried on most of the night. The TV in the room doesn't work despute having an aerial lead plugged (loosely) into the wall, so that needs checking! There was a working kettle and tea and coffee.

The structure of the hotel is very old, the window didnt close properly, the beds were worn out, there was an old smell within the property, the hotel room didnt have a lock, the initial main bathroom light didnt work, no breakfast options.

The first thought was the photo of the hotel is very misleading. The angle of the photo shows flowers from the property next door! The staff were very pleasant and helpful and explained how the parking permit worked. They kindly changed our room from 2nd floor to first floor without being asked when they saw my husband struggles walking. The room was clean and comfy but the bathroom wasn't very good the bath was marked and the shower screen doesn't look as if its ever been cleaned. The curtains were not hung very smart infact they were difficult to open. The stair carpet was badly stained which is off putting. If you want somewhere basic then its ideal. We used the bus service because it was cheaper than parking

Have stayed at Langford hotel on several occasions with family and friends. Hotel is very reasonably priced, situated in great location near Hove seafront, and close to main high street and public transport services Reception staff are very welcoming , friendly snd helpful. Although parking on main road outside hotel, was given choice to park car in another nearby hotel private car park, which was better option. Although hotel was more basic and may need redecorating and minor maintenance completing, bedrooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawers space to place clothes etc, beds were clean and comfortable, room was quiet so ensured good nights sleep. Enjoyed our stay here and will return to stay at this hotel again in future.

A room in November with no central heating? A bed which was so uncomfortable I would’ve been more comfortable on a bench along the seafront. Reckon less that 10 guests were here. Rooms without occupants were left with doors wide open. Over £10 to park on street - no visitor passes or subsidised arrangements

What can I say! You get what you pay for and this wasn’t expensive so that says it all really. I don’t need to mention the filthy carpet, the broken mirror that really should be removed, the musky smell, the missing draw the broken toilet roll holder, I could just on and on but I won’t! We only needed somewhere to get our heads down! Would I come back? Absolutely not! I’d rather sleep in my car!!!!

The place is very run down and felt dirty. The room was very cold when we arrived. Definitely wouldn't stay here again

The room was UNCLEAN and smelled of cigarette smoke. Thankfully the bedding and towels were clean. The dirtiest part of the room was the ensuite bathroom that had black mold on the tiling and grouting. The curtains were also too short for the windows.

We identified bed bugs in our three-person hotel room. There were also spiders on the walls so we had to go to stay at a different hotel in Brighton. The facilities were also very dirty and old-looking. The toilets were visibly moldy inside as well as the showers. The two-person bed also had mold on the mattress. This hotel room was unsanitary and unpleasant and we will certainly be requesting a refund.

The hotel is dated, the staff not that communicative and the room was in need of a good clean and repairs needed. The communal ladies toilet was disgusting, two toilets blocked with you name it, the third had a bin on top of it so I guess was blocked too. I called staff as I needed toilet and our room was not ready, the lights were not working in the toilet area, the staff tidied around before I could use it, and stood outside the main door to stop anyone coming in so there was some light. Bedroom was dated, shower leaking, toilet stained, floors dirty, carpet not pleasant, needs a good refurb.

I arrived around 2:30pm, so quite early for check-in. I did see that they offered 2pm check-in so thought I'd ask. There was no one at the disorganized check in area with no sign or logo to indicate the hotel name. In fact OYO is not visible at all. I learned this is just an Indian booking system, and not a hotel chain. The reception area is a series of old residential sofas, where later in the day the staff hang-out. The carpet on the stairs up to my room 507 are worn and dirty. Inside the room was just as bad. The sheets had been changed, but I don't think anything else had been cleaned. The light in the bathroom didn't work so how could you clean in the dark? A few positives, a new venitlation fan on the work desk. The TV and remote worked. Bed was OK, but I think the room may have fleas, or bed bugs. The tea kettle still had water in it, and there was still a wet, dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The water in the shower was hot, but the shower head is pretty weak. I would never stay here again, despite the great location near the sea / beach and nice looking places nearby. A thorn among roses.

We had a warm welcome on check in, in the room we found two dirty towels, a dirty glass, a dirty bath which hadn’t been cleaned properly and two dirty cup, more attention to cleanliness inspection before allowing your guests into the room, which can give your establishment a bad name and bad reviews.

The shower tray had mold in tray and up tiles the bed wasn't made upon arrival basic tea / coffee making facilities

The Room was very plain and dirty. The walls were absolutely filthy with dirt and stains. The windows were cracked and broken. The curtains were hanging off the rails. The towels were stained with dirt and .makeup and weren't white like they should be The place needs a refresh a long time ago and maintained alot better. Id definately not stay here again because its not the standards youd expect for the price you pay here. Its a grotty hotel nothing more.

Sad to say that for $250 American dollars a night you would expect to get a clean comfortable room! Not only was the bed , linen and pillows horribly uncomfortable the linen were covered in stains and hair shavings. The bathroom toilet, shower and sink were disgusting. I found multiple hairs everywhere. Including a public hair on the faucet handles of the sink. The tea kettle was covered with mold as well as the shower. The carpets were threadbare and stained with burn marks. I wish I was comfortable speaking with the front desk about this issue but felt concerned that it would cause a worse situation than we found ourselves in.

Made a booking for 2 nights, Had to leave after 1 night, Due to the property not having a heating in the room, its was extremely cold, Asked reception if they there was a way to heat up the room, Was told no, It doesn’t work… Very disappointing due to how much I paid for the stay

There was no remote for the TV. Only three pillows. Window was rattling and kept me awake most of the night.

The curtains would not open. Only one of the sash windows opened and only ajar. The heating could not be switched off making the room too hot. There was a punch hole in the bathroom door. There was a leak in the shower. The communal carpets were dirty. Parking is available but for a fee which was not made clear. There were occupants arguing outside. This review would not enable me to upload photos I took.

I needed a last-minute no-frills one-night stay in central Hove. The Langford fitted the bill perfectly. Large clean en-suite room, comfy bed, and an extremely helpful and cheerful porter who was there for me checking in at 23:30 and then checking out at 07:30. The hotel could benefit from a decor refresh, but for the price I paid for my room, I couldn’t have asked for more. Great value.

Overall a decent place to stay with friendly staff. We stayed in a deluxe double room which was large and had plenty of storage space, and also had a 2 seater couch. Although it only had a small TV placed far from the bed. There wasn't any accessible plugs near the bed either. The room was fairly clean and the walls and ceiling seem to have been painted fairly recently. Unfortunately the overall condition of the property is in need of attention. E.g. in our room curtains were coming away from rails, wardrobe doors wouldn't shut, there was no headboard on bed, the couch had paint stains on, TV remote battery cover missing, room door lock was loose, only 1 hanger provided in the wardrobe. In the hotel corridors, the carpets were stained and a broken window halfway down the stairs.

Very basic but that was all I needed - room was spacious with plenty of storage, should you need it and a great location for where I was based. I appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries provided. One small issue was that my window didn't close properly so it was very noisy as a large group seemed to be inconsiderate of other guests and the blind didn't open as it was broken so I couldn't get natural light.

To 'crash' for one night it was bearable, but the decor was shabby and tired, no internal door chain in room, toilet cistern was wobbly, bath side panel was dirty/ damaged.

A tired, slightly shabby but reasonably clean hotel. great location out of town but walking distance. Near to Beach. Staff were nice and it was quiet. Things like carpets, plug sockets, general décor, TV's could do with modernising but in the whole not too bad

Very helpful friendly staff will do anything for you my room was fine, bathroom fine ,water red hot,,bed and pillows very comfortable ,its great value for money, very close to all shops restaurants of hove and two mins from the sea , i will definitely use again

Staff were friendly on arrival I was given a room upgrade and they offered to take my bags up to the room for me, the room was presentable and very big with a big bed. Good location and happy with my stay

Absolute bargain price for what we got. Warm building and lovely beautiful warm room with all the amenities I could need. Bathroom was a bit small and rundown but it didn't bother me in the slightest. Had an amazing sleep and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! Will come back!!

I rarely leave reviews; good or bad. This hotel is just terrible. Staff were not very helpful and stood around giggling to each other while we were checking in. Day two of our resevation we cam downstairs and another guest was furious with the staff because a member of staff had been in their room and had left the door ajar and vulnerable to thieves. Honestly this place felt more like a clubhouse for the manager and their friends rather then a full hotel. For the love of god; they had an actual hosptial bed in the lobby!? Including an IV drip. I couldnt believe it honestly. For the quality of a hotel; it was terrible given the price we paid for the rooms it was even worse. I wish the hotel all the luck because no one who stays there seems to be pleased so far. I was in half a mind to demand a refund after seeing the state of the place; I only regret that I didn't and I wasted my money on this place. If you're looking for a nice hotel avoid this one. P.S despite agreeing on expedia that I would on site; they tried to charge my card before that. Even after speaking with an OYO customer representative and being assured that I could pay on site, they tried to charge my card later that same night

Had to change original room but my goodness the Manager bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. New owners are working hard to bring the building up to standard. Although work will take a while I would stay here again.

The staff at Langford hotel was very friendly and accommodating. What was supposed to be a one night stay turned into 6 days and even though I would have to update the hotel 2 hours 7before checkout, they still offered me the best rates and to keep the room I was currently in. The Hotel rooms does need a bit of updating, but the rooms are big in comparison to most hotels and definitely a good value for money.

I booked this hotel one night stay it was clean the beds very clean tea coffee and en suite in room all works, tv didnt work but not a great issue. Its really basic but clean and cheap compared to others in Brighton the area its in is very pleasant compared to the busy bit up rd so you get good sleep loverly chap on reception very friendly Sum it up its basic but pleasant and cheap what else do you need for a night

Excellent location. Close to buses, shops and restaurants and the beach. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Bed was clean and comfortable. Hotel is desperately in need of redecorating and updating. En suite shower room was useable but depressing.

Friendly staff, our room has just been done up so very clean. Window & door to the balcony have been painted shut so the room got hot even with a small fan. Easy walk to a number of restaurants and the beach.

The hotel is in a prominent and safe location with good access to many restaurants of all types not forgetting the promenade and beach. We would certainly return here again and highly recommend. Sam and Bass were very helpful and friendly.

A good budget hotel a quick walk from the restaurants, cafes and shops on Church Road at a good price for Brighton and Hove. The staff were welcoming and helpful and although the building is a little tired it was clean, spacious and overall was exactly what we needed.
