Just a one night stay on our way up north . It’s an old building so no lift but full of character . I’m the carers for my brother who is traveling with me & the hotel made sure that we had rooms next to each other . The rooms are ok , comfortable beds , nice ensuite bathroom but obviously as it’s an older building they aren’t like a travel inn. The breakfast was excellent & as a vegan the staff went out if their way to make sure that I had a good breakfast that I could eat . My brother thoroughly enjoyed his full Scottish breakfast. Amy , in reception , deserves a special mention as she sorted our rooms for us & carried my heavy suitcase up to the first floor for me bless her ! Would certainly stay here again .

Warm welcome. Room was clean, but no way was it a double. No space to put personal toiletries in the bathroom - a shelf would have been handy. Would have liked a "welcome folder" of info, i.e. menus, meal timings, internet passwords, contacts in case of emergencies. Some of this was provided at check in but it was all by rote and too quick to take in. I wish I had asked for a low room on a low floor because those stairs were a challenge - my calves and thighs are still aching - my fault not the hotels. Breakfast was a buffet set up which is never the best. I'm so sorry if this all comes across as negative because we had a nice stay and these are just some observations which in the grand scheme of things are pretty minor. Don't let this stop you booking at this wonderfully old and quirky hotel.

Had a great stay room clean and comfy had a bath with shower over really need walk in but we managed will ask for one next time no lifts as we are in our seventies could have been a problem but on first floor staff offered to help with luggage Helen on breakfast was fabulous nothing was a bother we will be going again

Unique old hotel with a lot of charm. Very old building so parking lot is very small and no elevator. The mattress was probably the worst I’ve ever slept on. Felt like a box spring. Pillows terrible too. Food was good. Staff very friendly but they were a little short staffed.

Lovely little traditional family hotel with many historic features. Lovely and quiet at night and extrememy clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the great staff, especially our breakfast server. What a lovely character and a real asset to the hotel.

Standard double room. Clean tidy with everything you need for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto the River Tay which was nice. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Location excellent. Log fire warming on a cold night.

We checked in, dropped out bags in the room and immediately left to walk around city centre, enjoy a meal and do some sightseeing. Several enjoyable hours later, we returned to our room for a bath and a good night's sleep. We got neither. The bed and pillows were of the worst possible quality; one like concrete, the other like a case that had lost all its filling. I spent 15 minutes trying to find a comfortable position in which to lay, wadding up the dreadful pillow in hopes of adding some bulk. Decided on a hot bath, thinking it might help me sleep. No joy, ran the water for 15 minutes and could not even get tepid. Thought to check Expedia for other reviews (maybe we were in the wrong place, I hoped), no wi-fi in our room. Wandered back and forth, tripping over the carpet that had peeled back (beneath a window, likely got wet), a signal faded in and out but never held long enough to connect to anything. Repacked the few things we had unpacked, went into the hallway for a wifi signal, and made a reservation elsewhere. I travel a lot. This was among the worst experiences I've had with an otherwise well-reviewed hotel. Don't know if they over-booked and I got a room that should not have been rented, no idea, but never again.

We totally enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room with a four poster bed and single bed and a lovely bathroom with large shower. Breakfast was good although we did have to ask for items to be topped up, maybe because it was 930am and breakfast finished at 10am. Very convenient for shopping. Nice room. Nice staff.

I stayed in the hotel for a business meeting the next day. I wanted to be fresh and ready, so decided to pay the £120 for a room for the night. Unfortunately, the mattress I had made it almost impossible to get comforatble and sleep, meaning I almost spent the whole night awake. Poor show.

Lovely old style hotel. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a bigger/better room on our arrival, which made our experience even better. Staff were really friendly and hard working. Only a couple of minor flaws stopped me rating the hotel 5 stars :- WiFi - was good in the reception/lounge area , but was poor/non-existent in the bedrooms (or at least in the room we were in. Breakfast - cereal, tea /coffee , fruit etc were good , but I was a little disappointed in the buffet style cooked items - black pudding was dry , haggis was a bit pale and fatty, sausages weren't great, and potato scones were bland. ( I'm usually quite the fan of a cooked breakfast) . Bacon, mushrooms, beans, eggs (scrambled/fried) were nice however

Lovely old style hotel. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a bigger/better room on our arrival, which made our experience even better. Staff were really friendly and hard working. Only a couple of minor flaws stopped me rating the hotel 5 stars :- WiFi - was good in the reception/lounge area , but was poor/non-existent in the bedrooms (or at least in the room we were in. Breakfast - cereal, tea /coffee , fruit etc were good , but I was a little disappointed in the buffet style cooked items - black pudding was dry , haggis was a bit pale and fatty, sausages weren't great, and potato scones were bland. We had a lovely stay and found the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable, although it was very warm and could have done with a fan. When we checked out, I mentioned this and was informed that we could have asked for a fan from reception. There were quite a few stairs and no lift so this was challenging as I have mobility issues but a member of staff helped us with our cases,so that was a help.

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is one i would definitely recommend. Staff went out of their way to make our stay great. Beautifully situated by the river so that you can watch the world go by while enjoying your breakfast

Really nice hotel with exceptionally friendly staff, 5 minute walk from the town center with plenty of bars and restaurants. Only thing for us was the parking lot is super tight if you have a big car like ours

We arrived on Sunday evening at 19.00 looking forward to supper at the hotel. The waitress informed us the kitchen had stopped seving - that was disappointing, however, we found a busy Italian close by and had a wonderful meal. Breakfast the next day was chaotic - luke warm buffet style and we had to wait for the bacon to be cooked

Standard double room. Clean tidy with everything you need for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto the River Tay which was nice. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Location excellent. Log fire warming on a cold night.

The front desk staff were helpful and the location was good. The wifi in our room was effectively unusable despite attempts by staff to fix it. Also we were disappointed that there was no beer on tap at the bar. EV charging on site was helpful.
