Room was showing wear not a fresh smell broken outlets average food poor drinks. Staff up sells everything. They have enough pool loungers for max 40% of guest pool side filled up by cabanas that they charge $130 ft or the day.

Great food, beautiful resort. The beach is nicely kept. There are rocks in the water at the beach so limited ability to go out at the resort. About 100 yards away is an area that is rock free you can go out into the

There is a hot tub by the main pool that is not marked, in addition to the ones in the spa (Mens,Womens).

Pool, around the pool they have resting chairs and cabins, you have to rent them at more than 100 use; they are not part of the all inclusive experience, normally at any all inclusive resort this is for free. Beach, not a good swimming beach; dirty and with rock all over; to have a better beach you can walk about 3 minutes, what is ok, not problem at all; but at that distance you are not at the hotel property so you lost all the drink or rest chair service, again no all inclusive used. Restaurants; not a good meal option, very limited. Things to improve, but overall a good experience. We are happy to be back some day.

Beautiful resort with very nice staff. The only downside is they stop serving alcohol at 10, restaurants close at 10 as well.

Everything was gorgeous and amazing, I’d happily return! My only note for future guests is that last call for drinks is 11pm. There’s a “24hr bar” but that’s just the name and the space is open but last call is still 11pm. Room service is included and 24hrs (limited food menu after 11pm) and they will only send glasses of wine or cans of beer to the room, also only until 11pm. There are PLENTY of bars and restaurants on 5th ave (minutes away on foot) so the 11pm cut off isn’t a big deal at all and honestly probably for the best. I only mention it because it’s not listed anywhere on the website or during booking or on any TikToks. They give you new differentiated wristbands (by request) on your last day after checkout so that you can still use the grounds and amenities like the spa, pool and restaurants after check out until it’s time to go to the airport. For example our check out was at 12 noon and our shuttle wasn’t until 3pm so we were still able to dine and use the pool for the gap time, at no extra charge. Staff is very very friendly and the resort was super clean.

The pool was slightly cold all the time.

We had no hot water for 2 days. I was overcharged for a service and the situation was handled very poorly. Very disappointing. Someone spelled a drink down the hallway and it was not mopped for over a day.

Staff were extremely courteous and helpful and the facility clean and beautiful

Jacuzzi tub was dirty. Once jets were turned on a brown black substance came out of the jets. Sheets had red hair on them that was not ours. Food was under prepared many times. Room was placed in the back by washer machines. So it was loud at night. Upon leaving bellman stated they called our name for our transportation. He stated he called it while helping another family. The bellman stated to me “remember the ladies with the scooters, I called your name when I was helping them”. We missed our transportation back to the airport because the bellman claimed he called our name while he was helping the ladies “with the scooters” and the Hilton hotel and the transportation company stated they could not help us. I was sitting at the entrance of the lobby for 45 mins watching the bellmen go in and out hearing them call peoples names searching through the lobby. And not once did I hear my name be called nor anyone walk my way. The worst part about it is the bellman sat us at the front and took our bags but not once came our way. The excuse was “well there are a lot of people”. Conveniently the could help us call a taxi, which came right away. I will not recommend this property to anyone. I believe at this point that we were scammed so we would have to pay for a taxi. Or assumed we knew the “ladies with the scooters”cause we were all black. Terrible customer service in terms of helping remedy a problem.

Everything was great! We stayed in an Ocean Front Junior Suite & the view was beautiful. Staff was very welcoming, all the amenities & food were great! Would definitely stay at Hyatt Vivid Playa again.

The room (One-Bedroom Suite Oceanfront - King) was spacious and offered a great view. However, we did encounter ants throughout the kitchen area and around the bathroom sinks. The staff service was consistently good, but the food options were disappointing compared to previous stays. I’ve been visiting since 2013, and with each change in ownership, the overall quality of the resort seems to have declined. We ended up dining at the same restaurant for the last three nights because the other options were subpar. There are far too many cabanas at the pool, which significantly limits the availability of regular lounge chairs. You're either stuck several rows behind the cabanas or forced to rent one to be poolside. It feels like a money grab to cram so many cabanas into every square inch of the pool area. Regrettably, this will be my last visit. For the amount of money spent, I believe I can find a better experience elsewhere.

The property itself was breathtaking. It was extreme big and spacious. The rooms themselves were massive, which helps when it’s gonna be your home for the next few days of your vacation. The property however only has one jacuzzi, so make sure to get there before everyone else. Great walking distance to 5th street.

Location is a 10 Resort is clean staff is friendly Entertainment was pretty good Food average Silent party and DJ were fun. Our room was the issue. We had ants housekeeping did spray but they came right back. The ceiling in bathroom had a leak, and the motion sensor that controls the lights was broken so it shut off like every 20 secs very annoying when trying to shower or get ready. Room was 4307 and it was street side. It was VERY noisy there was a club right across the street and it was very hard to sleep. I would return if I were guaranteed not to be in that building and if I had a room without the issues we had.

It was an excellent experience for us! The facilities were great, and the rooms were spacious and modern. The location was also very convenient for getting to the city centre. We would definitely come back.

Areas I suggest for improvement are: alert guests when they check-in that a quiet area is available. The constant LOUD music and noise level was unreasonable. The resort misses on details. No towel.bars in the rooms to hang towels. No drawers/ bureau to put clothes away. Restaurant service, especially at Pelican was terrible. Most mornings breakfast took an hour and a half, consequently the meal was unacceptable. I found I had to ask for everything, such as coffee was served without a spoon or condiments. When I asked for a spoon, i got one the other person didn't. I asked for a mimosa and was told liquor wasn't served at breakfast, though many tables had them. There was an air of silent discrimination, by this I mean certain couples got immediate and continuous service, well ahead of us. This happened often. Final suggestion is to be prepared for a 3 or 4 star property. Definitely not an exceptional resort.

This was our first time at Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen and our 9th trip to the area in 3 years. We have stayed at several other all-inclusives, including 2 times across the street and the Wyndam Playa Del Carmen. Overall, Hyatt Vivid is our favorite. Check-in was easy and those at reception were very friendly. For those who like an upgrade, we were offered an Oceanview Jr Suite for $60/night and an Oceanfront walkout with cabana for $250/night. We declined both and stuck to our Gardenveiw Jr Suite. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Our only room complaint would be the motion light in the area of the bathroom vanity. It was blinding at night and would turn off often during makeup applications. Food! What everyone is often most interested in....Our favorite was Pelicanos/Rincon Mexicano. We ate breakfast there one morning and lunch there every day. Delicious and the staff was amazing. We did not try Spice, the buffet, or Barefoot for lunch but did have both for breakfast. Also, very good. Barefoot is the place to go if you want to eat at the pool. Excellent pizza slices. Asiana was really good and would have loved to eat there a 2nd time but we ran out of time. The only disappointment was La Casona. There was an issue with getting our meal out to us and we left after an hour of waiting. Room service was fast and very good as well. Overall the food choices were vast and the quality was always top notch. The pool was cold. Not so cold that one couldn't swim but it did

The staff was amazing, and had a lot of great conversations in Spanish and English. Had excellent meals at several of the restaurants including Pelicanos, Rincon, Asiana, and Chefs Table. Adriano the butler was awesome and took care of me as a solo traveler.

Absolutely amazing vacation. From check in to check out. Only 5+++. Special Big Thanks to Manager Paulina and Front desk supervisor Alicia to apply their excellent management skill, customers care, best attitude to solve our problems. Bravo!!!

Friendly staff, clean amenities, really great shows and activities in the resort ! Everything was very nice overall the only small issue I would mention is it took us so long to get checked in but everything else met our expectations!

The number one thing that annoyed me about this place was the amount of times the staff harasses you to try and get you to purchase spa treatments, expensive dinners and poolside beds (that’s supposed to be included in the all inclusive price!). Not only that but I am telling u these people will stop at nothing until they get u to spend more and more money. Its ridiculous. They will try and offer u deals and tell u to do a presentation (90mins of your morning out of your limited vacation stay) to get u to purchase timeshares, whatever they offer, don’t do the presentation! I’m telling u it’s not worth it and it’s actually very annoying. They quoted me a price something like $300,000. Like I’m just trying to enjoy my vacation not get harassed by staff keep trying to offer me stuff in every single interaction. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere where you won’t be constantly harassed or marketed to everywhere u go. Go somewhere u can actually relax and enjoy please u will thank me later. We got locked out of our room twice and it was so hot so my husband was able to find another way into our room through the hole in the wall where they deliver room service food. He also was bit by a raccoon that they have running around the poolside of the property. Thank goodness he avoided rabies but we told them about this and you won’t believe they tried to make him pay 200$ to see the doctor on the property (anything for the money I guess right?). I will not be returning to this place.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen and unfortunately the overall experience was subpar compared to what I expected from a Hyatt property. One of the most disappointing moments was with the onsite gift shop. I purchased what were supposed to be new Ray-Ban sunglasses for $175, only for them to break at the pool after falling just a few inches. When I went back to address the issue with the store manager, I was met with rudeness and told there were no refunds very unprofessional and not what I would expect from a resort of this caliber. Additionally, I booked what was advertised as a full-day catamaran cruise, yet we only spent about an hour actually on the catamaran. The majority of the trip was spent sitting on an island for four hours, which was not what the package described or what I paid for. The excursions and activities do not match the way they are marketed. Dining was another letdown. The restaurants were only open on certain days, which limited options and flexibility. On top of that, it seemed like almost every day we were being upsold something whether activities, packages, or upgrades which became very frustrating. To make matters worse, when I tried to escalate issues, overall management was not helpful or accommodating. For a Hyatt property, I expected a much higher level of service, professionalism, and accountability. Sadly, I cannot recommend Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen based on my experience.

Check in was great - very welcoming, but then they whisk you right over to another desk to try and get you to sign up for a meeting about joining "the family" (basically like a timeshare, but they won't call it that). They convince you to schedule and tell you they will give you shirts and a bag to sign up (which they never did and then denied having offered it in the first place). Then at the informational meeting they are so nice and accommodating until you tell them no, it's not right for you, then it's like a switch is flipped and they are cold. Other than that experience we had a great time and was treated very well by staff. Nice accommodations with a great view. Some food was better than others, but overall very good.

For whatever reason, it took forever to get checked in. Pool and grounds were great, clean and well maintained. Getting lounge chairs was difficult if you weren’t there before 10am. They claimed the resort was 95% full, and that’s why they couldn’t give a room upgrade we were due as an Expedia Gold Member. However, nothing at the resort was crowded. Restaurants were 1/3 to 1/2 full when we ate any of them. I’m calling BS on the 95% full claim. Restaurants were mixed. Asiana, La Casona and Pelicanos were wonderful. Dolma was not great. Chefs Plate was good, but not worth the $119 up charge . And if you wanted a better steak, those were $55 to $90 additional cost. I could get a great steak at Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris for that price. Bars were all good, and bartenders were wonderful, especially if you tipped well. Overall, I thought the entertainment was average to poor. That said, I’d stay there again.

The property was great , excellent service , variety of food . The buffet was great . Our room was to the side of 5 Ave two blocks away and you can hear the noise at night . Overall everything was great , we will come back again j

Enjoyed my stay! Staff was amazing! Always made sure I was safe and comfortable! Most importantly, resort was located directly in center of playa del carmen, so shopping, excursions, beaches, clubs, sites, were all between 5-20 min walking distance!

The property was beautiful and well-maintained. Everyone here was very accommodating. I felt safe and the property was always clean. Perfect location — walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the ferry. Food options were pretty good and we didn’t have a problem getting into restaurants. The pool was always a vibe w a variety of music. I would definitely recommend a stay and would also return.

Wonderful hotel steps to 5th avenue. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was nice and helpful. Hotel was extremely clean. Enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and lunch everyday , some days the buffet didn't open for supper. On those nights we went to Asiana (went there 4 nights) loved the sushi and beef brisket! They were great with asking about allergies as well. There is 2 pools and we enjoyed the quiet pool rather than the loud one. One thing we didn't like is that you had to pay to "rent" a lot of the cabanas on the beach & in the pool area. They don't have a lot of beach front access and a lot of it was taken up with "rent only" cabanas, there was free ones but not near enough for the amount of people staying at the hotel & definitely not enough space for the small amount of beach front access. You can't even set a towel down and lay on the beach. We didn't mind though because we didn't go just for the beach. We went for the amenities and location. If you are dead set on a really nice beach front - maybe not the hotel for you. But all in all - we would definitely visit again!

We loved our stay at Hyatt Vivid. The resort itself is beautifully spacious. You can be involved in the festivities or tuck yourself away. It is centrally located to 5th Avenue and the ferry. We loved being in walking distance to almost everything!! Our room was beautiful and quiet! We didn't try all the restaurants but the ones we did, the food was delicious. The main bar in the lobby was great and the margaritas never disappointed. We're already planning our next trip!!!

The staff is amazing, especially Ruben in pelicanos. He took such good care of us. We love the entertainment staff at the pool, Aaron, dolce, Benjamin and the rest were so much fun. Our main reason for choosing this resort is the party vibe at the pool. The rooms are clean and remodeled. The hotel location cannot be beat. You can walk straight out to 5th Ave and enjoy all the local shops. We have been coming to this resort for many years and will continue the tradition.

Everything was unbelievably fantastic. Facilities, people, entertainment, rooms, options, and easy access to everything. Other than the food and the stout morning drinks, everything was unbelievably fantastic. There are 6 legit restaurants that are included in the all inclusive, a buffet, Mediterranean, Asian, Caribbean Mexican and 2 Mexican options. All are not open at the same time and a lot of the food overlaps so I would say it's more like 4 options. All were good but our best food experience was off the resort

Booked this hotel for being all inclusive with multiple restaurants. Just one was open for my stay and it was, as you can imagine, full and with a waiting period that we decided to go and have dinner somewhere else.

Everything was superb! Loved the stay, food (too much variety), vibe, all exceeding expectations!

Overall experience was good. Property was attractive. Some confusions finding restaurant, recommend better signage and directions. Food quality was disappointing compared to other resort experiences. Advertisements of excursions over priced for what you actually get.

All the staff were very professional and went above and beyond! All of the food was delicious and our massages at the spa were amazing. We also really enjoyed the decor of our room - It was a very relaxing vacation, as we had hoped! :)

I've been to this property more than once and the staff is great! Pool is fun and location to the city is walkable and fun. Food isn't the best in the world which is what you'd expect from an all-inclusive. Highly recommend!

Overall, Hyatt Vivid is a beautiful hotel. It is aesthetically pleasing and is close to town. The buffet has amazing food options and the restaurants on the property are pretty good. My only gripe is that everything closes pretty early on the property which leads you to find things to do outside. They don’t offer many games with their entertainment team. However, keeping in mind that this property switched over 6 months ago or so it was an amazing experience and I enjoyed my stay.

Everything was great, the menus are a bit limited especially if you have simple tastes.

Overall not at all what I expected from a Hyatt property. Very annoying in the sense of you’re always being sold something at an all inclusive resort, from a more expensive bed by the pool to a spa package or STEAK!!Yes there’s NO STEAK INCLUDED!!the first day we got there our friends waited about an hour after 3:00pm to finally receive their room, so they stayed in ours in the mean time. After having some fish tacos a friend of ours felt a little nauseous and ended up puking on a rug and couch, while waiting for room service we used a towel to start cleaning her. (Not blaming their food, It was a long flight, it was hot, things happen)We requested a new room.. but first they came in and cleaned the vomit (cleaning lady took about 5 mins to get that done) - they moved us to a new room in about an hour. At check out they proceed to tell me I owe them a cleaning fee and they will deep clean the room with that money.. MIND YOU WE HAD A NEW ROOM FOR 5 DAYS. AND SOMONE ELSE HAD ALREADY TAKEN THE OTHER ROOM. SO THOSE PEOPLE WERE IN A ROOM THAT SUPPOSEDLY WAS NOT CLEAN BASED ON THIS HOTELS STANDARDS. WHAT A SCAMM! It smells like NYC sewage,no a/c in lobby we payed for upgraded ocean view room, when I told the front desk it wasn’t ocean view (Mayel) told me lean over the balcony you’ll see the ocean! Ridiculous. We got a spa package at check in, my masseuse started falling asleep towards the end of the service. There are raccoons roaming wildly at night on the property on every floor
