In the centre of Bowness up,a small hill, room was clean and well maintained, The car park we had to pay extra £10 a day for it, no option to pay for more than one day on machine and no app, so if going out all day for the following day had to put another day on the car early before going out well before the 24 hours had run out from the previous day. Top tip use the excellent bus service to get around they run every 20 minutes and is only £3 any trip. Bar was excellent, very pleasant staff, breakfast was a buffet style full English breakfast a bit hit and miss, day 1 excellent , day 2 different chef he didn’t know how to make scrambled eggs as they were like soup and very runny not nice and fluffy as they should be, good choice of breakfast items though including cereals, yogurts and croissants, we ate in the restaurant for evening meal once out of our 2 night stay both of us were disappointed with the standard of supposed hotel quality food, not good , although the waiter/waitress service was excellent , the hotel was very dog friendly with dogs allowed in most areas, overall the hotel had its good and bad points.

Spa was very basic and staff seemed disinterested. Bar was only able to make two cocktails and parking was an expensive extra.

The Hotel was perfectly based for the lake. Plenty of parking on arrival. The staff were very friendly especially Fred. We sat outside and struggled to open an umbrella. Within 5 minutes a maintenance man appeared from nowhere and fixed the umbrella, really helpful. The rooms were modern with clean bathrooms.
