The hotel is in a good location next to a marina, the river and has a bistro and a bar on its premises. It is a short distance away from the town centre but a nice walk into Stratford and all it has to offer. Rooms are comfortable and clean, although we did have to request that the bathroom bin was emptied from the previous occupancy. This was dealt with immediately. The hotel is dog friendly and dogs are allowed into morning breakfast but not for other meal service in the bistro. However, dogs are allowed in the bar where food is also served at lunch and dinner. A nice dog gift was provided containing some treats, a toy and bags for dog waste. However, do remember to bring your own bowls and a dog bed. Breakfast at weekends can be very busy for tables. This is not a buffet-style breakfast so it takes some time for orders to be prepared during busy periods and we did have to wait 15 - 20 minutes for a table, over 20 minutes to order and around a similar amount of time to receive the breakfast. It is standard to pay for your dog to stay over but it would have been nice to have been offered a breakfast sausage for our dog. Staff on reception and on the bar in The Bear were all very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and the walking we did.

The Swan’s Nest is our preferred choice hotel in Stratford on Avon. We visit for the theatre 8-10 times per year so we have a broad, year-round experience of this hotel. Great facilities with the Bear Pub and Bistro Pierre. Parking is easy and one of the cheapest in town.

An excellent team of staff. Nothing too much trouble and they all seemed to be happy in their work. It really does make a difference. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel could do with a lift but because it is a listed building that’s not possible. Would recommend the hotel and we will visit again.

Decoration is tired looking, especially the Bear bar. Speaking of which, hotel guests can only purchase drinks until 10.10pm? That was surprising! Bed was comfy, bathroom clean, room tired looking though. As your bar is closed completely by 11pm, why is it acceptable for people to sit outside, at your tables, to laugh and talk loudly well into the night. I had to contact reception at 2am to tell people to go home!!

Great hotel location for town centre & to theatre. Restaurants and Pub attached although even if you’re a hotel residence you get thrown out of the pub unceremoniously just after 11).

Lovely room, didn’t have bfast there. Good parking available but note we checked in around 5pm and had the last space! There is a charge of £10 which may irritate some! Nice atmosphere in the bar area (called the Bear) 10% of drinks for residents appreciated. An excellent location within easy walking distance of the town centre, pubs and restaurants etc - would recommend and return.

The internet was fine. We had a room that could have been cleaned a bit more and the glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste in one of them. The staff was easy going, easy to talk to. The atmosphere was relaxed, we enjoyed it very much. Our bed was not made the day after our first night either. But we were out all day, therefore it was not an issue.

Receptionist was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable,spacious and well furnished and we slept so well. Bathroom could be cleaner, cobwebs around window and black mould in corner of bath/shower and door mouldings covered in dust which is a shame because everything else was amazing and the position perfect next to the river and a short uber ride to the castle in Warwick

This hotel is very well located on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon and there is ample parking at £10 per day for hotel guests. However, we felt this room was very poor value for money as it, whilst a little bigger than a standard room and with an additional seating area, was nothing special. In fact, there were no drawers apart from 1 desk drawer and only 1 useable shelf for clothing (other than hanging space). The standard of housekeeping was very poor - on our arrival one of the handtowels, which had been rolled up, was still damp so clearly had been left by the previous guests! The shower was great but, being an over bath affair, soaked the floor - lucky we had that spare hand towel which we used to mop it all up! We then left the very damp hand towel in the bath as this is universal hotel speak for ‘clean towel please’ but when we returned to our room later, the damp towel had simply been rolled up and replaced - not good. Add to that the fact that our room (68) was at the end of the corridor so quite a lot of foot traffic and chat passing our door and the floorboards squeaking constantly. Oh, and the very loud emptying of glass bottles outside, presumably into a recycling bin, after 11pm and at 6.20am on our first morning was extremely frustrating. We did appreciate the air conditioning and the shower cap though! Don’t think we’d choose to return here based on a very overpriced, underwhelming room.

Location was wonderful. However the hotel not so much. Toilet did not flush correctly. After cleaning the room they took all the towels and did not replace them. I requested towels and they only brought me two small towels and they were damp. Rain shower sprays water all over the floor.

The hotel is very well situated just across the river from the theatre and close to the centre of town with its many attractions. Rooms are large and comfortable and well serviced. My only slight reservation is the noisy air conditioning system that was directly outside my room (67) and that kicked in around 6am. The Swans Nest is excellently located, comfortable, clean and offers great service, including a bar that stays open until 11 pm serving good quality cask ale. Unfortunately, we were awoken at 8am by dogs yapping in an adjacent room. Nowadays it seems that catering for 'fury babies' takes precedence over offering guests an uninterrupted sleep.

Comfortable bed, helpful staff. Have never stayed in a dog friendly hotel before and noticed a strange smell in the room ? cleaning products. Good choices for cooked breakfast, however, long wait time, cold poached eggs and the untoasted sourdough with avocado were a disappointment. Hotel very conveniently located for the theatre and town centre.

Rooms and communal areas are dated. Our room was far too hot. Even with x 3 fans that were already in the room. So the hotel must have had previous complaints Staff were nice and friendly. £10 to park your car ! Breakfast was ok for £12 I guess

Great stay. Staff really friendly and dog friendly room. Room was so clean and as it was a 50th Birthday celebration the hotel left some Prosecco and chocolates and a handwritten note as well as dog treats and toy. What a big surprise and we all loved it. Definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Reception very welcoming and friendly, room good size comfy clean bed and bathroom same great to have small drinks gridge for my use and to get back to hotel and get a cold drink at night. Short walk to town, theatres and restuarants over the bridge. £10 for car park till 12pm next day / each day I guess, otherwise if staying in town after checkout £1 an hour which was great as gave me a chance to go to the Sunday market they had on. Will definately be back next year.

Two night stay to attend the RSC Theatre, which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent location to visit the town centre and to enjoy the river. Very helpful, friendly and attentive staff who work long hours. The pub is a little shabby in places, but overall very good. We will be returning (when I’ve saved enough Tesco points!)

The room itself was clean when I arrived, but felt quite dusty overall. Because the rooms are right above the pub attached nights tend to be quite loud and there's consistent booming of the bass speakers that makes the room shake with the beat. Halfway through my stay, there was a power outage in the entire hotel with little warning for a whole day (9-5), with the only notification I got about it being a note that was slipped under my door. The note also failed to inform me that the water and toilets would not be in use in that time either, which caused much distress. When mentioned, the reception staff seem to feel no need for extra explanation or compensation, only offering to pay for food that had gone bad in my room minifridge during the power outage when I asked for it specifically and nothing else.

Really nice hotel, room was spacious, staff friendly and helpful. A bit of a wait for breakfast as were full, bar stopped serving at 11pm on a Friday even for residents and air con in room was intermittent and no remote, but these were minor things for a really nice hotel with good staff a pub and restaurant on site.

The hotel is very well situated just across the river from the theatre and close to the centre of town with its many attractions. Rooms are large and comfortable and well serviced. We have stayed here a few times and always enjoy it's proximity to the theatre, the lovely surroundings and the helpful and cheerful staff. Breakfast is good, nice a la carte selection and rooms confortable. The walk back from town in the evening, with the lights on the water is especially pretty.

Really well located for the RSC theatres and Stratford centre. However, a little quieter as the hotel is located on the other side of the Avon. We like the bistro and pub/bar attached to the hotel. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. It is our preferred hotel in Stratford on Avon.

Trip to watch a play at the RSC nearby which was just a short walk over the bridge. Room was lovely, bathroom was clean, taps kept making a loud noise so had to open more than was necessary, shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided so no need to take. Bed was comfortable. Hairdryer in room. Overall a little too warm throughout room and hotel as weather has just turned so heating was on. Breakfast was lovely, as vegetarians we felt there was a good choice and milk alternative also provided.

The hotel is in a good location next to a marina, the river and has a bistro and a bar on its premises. It is a short distance away from the town centre but a nice walk into Stratford and all it has to offer. Rooms are comfortable and clean, although we did have to request that the bathroom bin was emptied from the previous occupancy. This was dealt with immediately. The hotel is dog friendly and dogs are allowed into morning breakfast but not for other meal service in the bistro. However, dogs are allowed in the bar where food is also served at lunch and dinner. A nice dog gift was provided containing some treats, a toy and bags for dog waste. However, do remember to bring your own bowls and a dog bed. Breakfast at weekends can be very busy for tables. This is not a buffet-style breakfast so it takes some time for orders to be prepared during busy periods and we did have to wait 15 - 20 minutes for a table, over 20 minutes to order and around a similar amount of time to receive the breakfast. It is standard to pay for your dog to stay over but it would have been nice to have been offered a breakfast sausage for our dog. Staff on reception and on the bar in The Bear were all very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and the walking we did.

Ideal venue for visiting stratford and great location for theatre going or taking a walk along the riverside. Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. Room contained everything needed and was clean and comfortable. Restaurant provided everything from small snacks to extensive dinner menu at decent prices. Will definitely return.

Decoration is tired looking, especially the Bear bar. Speaking of which, hotel guests can only purchase drinks until 10.10pm? That was surprising! Bed was comfy, bathroom clean, room tired looking though. As your bar is closed completely by 11pm, why is it acceptable for people to sit outside, at your tables, to laugh and talk loudly well into the night. I had to contact reception at 2am to tell people to go home!!

Friendly welcome, but no acknowledgement of Platinum status - no room upgrade or welcome drinks. Hot old fashioned room, with noisy heating and road noise. Dreadful breakfast, my wife was still suffering from the effects the following morning. This place is out of the 1980's and the way they do breakfast is similar.

The Swan's Nest is in a great location, by the river and a short walk into the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our club room had a nice large comfortable bed, a separate sitting area with TV, the shower was really powerful and the bath robes were nice to have. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water were in the room, as was a small fridge. The room was slightly dated but this didn't affect our stay at all. Parking is limited, but worth the £10 charge (we stayed 1 night) We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel the room was amazing the staff were very helpful friendly. The hotel was undergoing some renovations but this didn’t affect our stay , the view was scaffolding outside our window and painting was underway on The interior. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on restaurants . Would deffo stay again
