Excellent staff. The building is charming and rich with historic details. Pub is beautifully done with good food, including the delicious breakfast. Parking isn’t included, but the “pay & display” lot is literally behind the building as though it was attached. Definitely would recommend.

No free parking locally. The hotel is in the town center with easy access to local sights and amenities. There is a lift at the hotel so handy for disabled persons. The beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. The bar prices are expensive and any drinks or food hadled or served by waiters bears a 10 percent service charge. The room we booked was equiped with a lovely roll too bath and walk in shower. Unfortunatately for me on both mor ings of the stay my breakfast was of poor quality. The streaky bacon was inedible the tomato and mushroom overcooked and dry and black pudding on the first day dry and crispy Luckily the other 3 in the party chose eggs benedict or ommeletes all of which were very good..

Lovely place right in the centre of Stratford, car park (Grove House) about 2 mins a way only £7 for 24hrs. Real fire in reception gives lovey feel to hotel. Rooms lovely and warm and you don’t need to be an expert in hieroglyphics to work out the heating/aircon controls. We paid £100 for H&B in an exec / larger room and that was more than enough space for an overnight stay for two. It’s an old hotel with a couple of squeaky floorboards in hallways so you can hear the occasional footsteps passing your room when the hotel in quiet in the morning but nothing too bad. Breakfast was lovely (bit of a mix up over our order but sorted out quickly enough without a fuss). If we visited Stratford again we’d happily stay here.

First time stay, wonderful friendly service. Great menu choices for breakfast and dinner. Friendly bar staff and cosy seating. Historical original Tudor painting in dining room was amazing attraction for the premises. Was sad to leave but will be back for another stay.

We were in a 'cosy' room at the far end of the hotel which meant it was generally quiet. Disappointed that there was no carpark or vouchers for the local parking so a 2 night stay had an additional charge for carpark that we weren't expecting. There was no information about this when we booked. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order.

A lovely hotel right in the centre of Stratford -upon-Avon. The hotel has character that lends itself to the historic town. The breakfast was delicious and the service was great. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and the air conditioning was a bonus. We will definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

This was a great hotel, in a great location. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was squeaky clean had everything in the room that you may need on your stay. We had breakfast with them and it was yummy. We also had a light meal there and that was tasty too. Would highly recommend staying here.

Spotless hotel all over. Super comfy bed. Food was freshly prepared and delicious. Friendly staff. Nice touches, for example coffee machine in room and home made shortbread. One of the nicest places we have stayed. We will be back.

Lovely hotel. The (standard) room was very nicely decorated and felt cosy, very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean bathroom. Nice touches such as the chocolates in the room when we arrived. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was delicious. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning room with one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever had in a hotel (we stayed in a deluxe room). Breakfast was great, location was walkable to everything we wanted to visit. Did I mention the bathroom? Massive copper bath and a big shower.

A lovely hotel and quirky historic items in and around the communal areas however our room i feel was overpriced at just under £300 for the night to listen to the huge air con unit whirling underneath the bedroom window all night and the bedroom heater/air con unit emitting a constant low buzz noise through the night and other guests banging doors! Such a shame for such a pretty hotel that we felt we had paid alot of money for mainly to visit the victorian christmas market that was cancelled anyway due to storm darragh!

White Swan Hotel has English countryside charm like a beautiful cottage. The room is spacious and has good amenities. However, there two things that I should mention: firstly the room is not sound proof and you may hear loud conversations from inside the room in the hall and secondly, the air conditioning does not work well and it takes a long time to adjust the temperature. Otherwise, everything else is good. The restaurant run by the hotel offers delicious English cuisine and they give 15% discount to the food if you stay there. All attractions in town are within walking distance including the train station.

We booked a Superior Double room, which is one of the best they offer. The pictures on Expedia show several very nice rooms with big windows. We did not get one of those. We got the room with small windows looking out onto two roofs. The room felt very claustrophobic with views to broken down a/c equipment on one side and shabby artificial turf on the other. The room decor was drab and dated and the bathroom had a curtain for a door. We feel the pictures of the rooms were misleading. If you choose to stay at this hotel, specify the exact room you want. You do NOT want ours. Oh, and don’t order a Manhattan in the bar. The bartender told us, “I know how to make it, but it’s not listed so I’m not able to ring it up… ☹️

We had a good stay at The White Swan. The standard room which we booked was smaller than I expected but I checked with the receptionist as I thought they may have given us a 'cosy' room by mistake; she confirmed it was a standard. It was closed to everything we needed. Breakfast was good. We went out for dinner so can't comment on that.

Location was perfect for shopping and restaurants. Our room was OK, bed was comfortable. We were given a handicap room next to the elevator, which we did not request or need. The bathroom was large but when taking a shower water was everywhere in the bathroom. The voice in the elevator could be heard in our room every time some one used it and overall the room was small and very dark, even with lights turned on. I did appreciate the history of the building and the breakfast was delicious.

Room - The room was very clean and perfect for our needs. Excellent size and super cosy. Staff - The staff were excellent. Very accommodating and nothing was too much for them. Food - The food was excellent. Plenty of choice and nice homely food. Prices were reasonable and what you’d expect to pay given the location and type of food being served. The breakfast choices were outstanding.

We checked into our room in the evening. After a long day, I decided to shower before bed (which did not take more than 5 minutes) and when I got out of the shower cabin, the whole bathroom was flooded with water. after a few minutes, staff attempted to clean the bathroom and moved us to a different room in the middle of the night. It was a highly disruptive evening and put a dampener on a much-needed night away. After the incident, the staff were rude and did not offer any compensation which left my friend and I very dissatisfied with the service and the attempt to make our stay as comfortable as possible. (having worked in hospitality, I know that customers are always right and you would do anything to ensure their stay is as comfortable as possible). this stay was extremely disappointing and will definitely not go there again and will not recommend my friends and family to go.

Lovely building and rooms. Breakfast superb, as was breakfast waiter. Reception staff a bit chilly. Could have done without being woken at 7am by staff loading/unloading some kind of trolley in the alley below our window. Clank clank bang for 15 minutes. Maybe this could not be avoided, but the two staff members certainly didn’t need to natter away to each other the whole time.

Lovely hotel and staff. At check-in, Lucy assisted us and gave us a map of the city. She told us all we needed to know about dining options at the hotel and was very pleasant. The restaurant was great and food was delicious. Breakfast is made to order!! The hotel is very convenient and within walking distance to all points of interest. Highly recommend!!

Room was clean but cold. We had to ask for blankets and a heater. The staff at the front desk didn’t know where the key sites were which was unusual given that the town is very small and there are only 3 main sites to visit. The restaurant was good but very rushed.

We have a wonderful twin room on the 2nd floor that was both quiet, spacious and well furnished. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent and well worth having. I would recommend the hotel for anyone travelling to Stratford-on-Avon.

I wish we had stayed at this hotel for more nights while visiting the Cotswolds and Stratford instead of booking another hotel in between Bath and here. Our room was recently redone, very clean and comfortable. Parking was across the street, literally just feet from the hotel.

We stayed for 1 night Sunday - Monday in September 2025 and had a great time. All the staff were very friendly (something I rarely say!), the room was comfortable, reasonably priced, and the breakfast was great, with a wide range. The main dining room is is full of character and the hotel is well located within a few minutes walk of many of the attractions. Would definitely stay again!

Room - The room was very clean and perfect for our needs. Excellent size and super cosy. Staff - The staff were excellent. Very accommodating and nothing was too much for them. Food - The food was excellent. Plenty of choice and nice homely food. Prices were reasonable and what you’d expect to pay given the location and type of food being served. The breakfast choices were outstanding.

No free parking locally. The hotel is in the town center with easy access to local sights and amenities. There is a lift at the hotel so handy for disabled persons. The beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. The bar prices are expensive and any drinks or food hadled or served by waiters bears a 10 percent service charge. The room we booked was equiped with a lovely roll too bath and walk in shower. Unfortunatately for me on both mor ings of the stay my breakfast was of poor quality. The streaky bacon was inedible the tomato and mushroom overcooked and dry and black pudding on the first day dry and crispy Luckily the other 3 in the party chose eggs benedict or ommeletes all of which were very good..

This was a great hotel, in a great location. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was squeaky clean had everything in the room that you may need on your stay. We had breakfast with them and it was yummy. We also had a light meal there and that was tasty too. Would highly recommend staying here.

The superior room we booked was extremely noisy. We had to ring reception 3 times before anything was done about this. The room was extremely dark. There was a bad drain type smell in the bathroom. We were also disappointed with the hotel restaurant. We booked an early table only to find steak was no longer an option in a very limited menu.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with excellent friendly staff, had big problems in the restaurant of the evening as took 1hr half to be told what we had orderd was no longer available, finally got our meal at 9.15 but the manager adjusted our bill accordingly but still put a dampener on the evening, never the less I would definitely return .

Great place to stay however thought breakfast was very disappointing. The cold buffet selection was poor and some of the pastries were stale. Finally I don’t understand why your receptionist can’t acknowledge me with “Good Morning”…
