Petit Lafitte Beach Front Hotel & Bungalows

The most relaxing vacation ever! Yoga every morning included, great food, open air massage spa, friendly staff. It was wonderful and we will be back!

We enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel. The propery itself is just small compared to other resorts but it offers real value for money. The food was good at their restaurant and the facilities, even for a small hotel, are quite cozy and comfortable. We like the tranquility and the charming vibe that comes with this boutique hotel. The location and the area around the hotel, however, is a downside. The area outside the hotel to the main roads is isolated and not well lighted at night. And the road to the property itself from the main road is mostly unpaved which reduces its appeal. Hope they can do something about this.

Liked that it was a smaller property and not a massive monolith. Beach is a little rocky, like the rest of that area. Beach was well kept. Entertainment was excellent. BBQ night was awesome! Parking was a little tight.

We had an incredible time staying at Petit Lafitte. The bungalows are lovely, quaint and sufficient. Some noise from neighbouring properties. The staff at PL are the best. Friendly and welcoming, always available to help. The beach is stunning but you can’t swim right in front. A short walk down to the nearby pier and swimming is great as well as snorkeling. Lots of umbrellas available for guests which means lounging on the beach for the day was comfortable! The food was pretty good and the drinks were fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this as a no frills and relaxing resort for anyone visiting the area.

Lovely small hotel. Quaint property right on the beach. Friendly accommodating staff. Small pool, great food and lovely beach bar with great live music several times a week. So happy to have stayed here.

Loved, loved, loved the beach vibes here—so beautiful and relaxing. All the staff were super attentive and kind. One even made a little shade spot for us. Not many people were swimming in the ocean while we were there. I’d definitely recommend bringing aqua shoes if you’re planning to go in. The 8 a.m. yoga class was a big plus for me—it gave me something peaceful to do while my kid slept in, and the yoga studio was so calm and serene. You’ll need a car to get around, but driving was pretty easy, even for my first time in Mexico. The highway’s in great shape, though the smaller roads can be pretty bumpy, so I’d suggest driving during the day at first just to get used to it. Breakfast was delicious but definitely on the slower side, so be ready to chill and enjoy the relaxed pace. I stayed in one of the buildings, and while the room itself was comfortable, we could hear everything happening at the pool. One night the hotel next door had a disco party that went on till 11 a.m.— Next time, I’d go for a bungalow for a bit more peace and quiet.

A beautiful property on the beach. If you want to relax and enjoy the sun, this is the place for you. It's quiet and serene. I loved that they turned off the music on the beach at request so that we can enjoy the quiet. I love their gorgeous yoga studio and daily classes. Massage on the beach was amazing. I really liked the general decor and vibe of the place. Really chic and natural. I'd totally come back.

Sehr schöne kleine Hotelanlage direkt am Meer mit schönem Badebereich. Möglichkeit zum Jet Ski fahren oder Parasailing. Das Abendessen Buffet war sehr lecker wie auch das Frühstück. Wir würdeb wieder kommen und empfehlen es gerne weiter.

The beach is rocky and there is not so easy access to the city. The dinner at the hotel felt overpriced for what we got. The pool and the bar were good. The bartender was very knowledgeable.

Food isn’t the greatest. Unfortunately, can’t dine at other close restaurants unless you’re staying at the hotel. The cabanas need some TLC, floors aren’t clean and bathrooms can use some remodeling. Staff is attentive. When signing your receipts (after dining) make sure that if you are paying cash, DO NOT sign the receipt. While checking out of hotel, they were telling us we had a balance due for drinks. I specified that we paid drinks in cash. And was told we signed the receipt, well yes we did because we were told to do so!! So, don’t fall for it.

I mean, I had one of the best paellas of my life, FILLED with seafood... couldn't believe this was part of the package. The drinks were also fantastic, their piña coladas were so delicious. Not too sweet, with a hint of freshly shaved cinnamon and dried pineapple as a garnish... 1000/10. Their yoga studio is very cute, and I really appreciated the front desk letting me and my sister use it in the afternoon for pilates on our own accord. My only two let downs were the condition of out room & some of the staff. We stayed in a room in the main building (not a bungalow), and the air filter in our bathroom was covered in mold. The daily cleaning was kind of done heartedly, even if we left tips. Staff was hit or miss - some were extremely friendly, others seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but here. I will most likely be back - next time in a bungalow!

Mine and my friend's time at Petit Lafitte was an absolute pleasure. The staff is lovely and attentive, the facilities are beautiful and maintained, and the property is extremely cared for and relaxing. I would definitely return!

Fue una experiencia increíble. Todo el personal es demasiado amable que te hacen sentir como en casa. En esprcial Baldemar y Mariana, que en todo momento estuvieron al pendiente de nosotros. La comida es riquísima y sale completamente del típico desayuno americano, los platillos son hechos al momento. Las instalaciones muy limpias y cuidadas. Sin pensarlo volvería y seguro que voy a recomendar este lugar. Me encantó!

La chambre que nous avons occupé sentait vraiment le refermé et était réellement défraîchie. Le personnel était chaleureux. L'établissement nécessite un grand rafraîchissement ou à défaut il faut baisser les prix. Le rapport qualité prix n'est pas bon

My stay was short, only 3 nights, but sweet. I stayed in a bungalow and it was delightful, clean, comfortable, safe, with easy access to the beach, pool, restaurant, bar, desk. I highly recommend this hotel.

Pool was fine, just nothing fancy. Limited things to do in the area, so if you need nightlife and restaurants, it costs about $28-$30 each way for taxi to go to PDC. We had a relaxing time, for the money. Downside: expectation of tip every meal. Some areas of the grounds were in disrepair but they were working on it. Not sure about safety after dark so we didn’t venture far at night. Not a luxury resort but more of a low-key, granola type place, as we expected from other reviews.

The beachfront bungalow was wonderful! The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and varied. We especially enjoyed our lovely server, Marianna. A unique hotel with a beautiful beach and pool. I hope to go back!

Family trip and a friends bday. Front desk staff all very friendly and accommodating. Service for breakfast & dinner fantastic, flexible to meet your dietary requirements. Food was very good. Martin is an exceptional server! They even surprised my friend for her bday with a cake and came to sing. Love the rustic and zen vibes- like tulum. Only improvement, rooms could use some upgrading. Will definitely recommend to friends/family.

So i liked the staff, they are lovely and try to be as helpful as possible, the hotel does the job… and is romantic for couples but there are allot of things that need improvement… 1. Hot water is up and down, sometimes its barely luke walm sometimes a little just over luke warm in rooms… 2. The al-carte meals, pastries are nice and bread but we stayed two weeks and had allot of repeat meals which we wouldn't mind if they were delicious but portions are small, and main meals i am not gonna lie some if the worst i have tasted… their starter salads were nice, then their soups were touch and go often overly salted, most of the soups had doritos in them not a fan otherwise they would be a cream soup… main meals overly salted and could have been cooked with some flavour like garlic and lemon or something but just salty mostly… desserts and pastries were nice and they make their bread on premises… Options for vegans or if you wanted something outside of the meals of the evening, no alternate options… they should have a menu to order… but prices for anything not included pretty hefty… 3. Limited entertainment options, would be nice if hotel had its own team renting out paddle boards water toys and things… 4. The beach itself not good for basic swimming but great for snorkelling its rocky and dangerous as we snorkled we spotted rays, rock fish and eales amongst that star fish, angel fish and many others…so be careful on this rocky beach… but if you like snorkelling its great…

Wonderful boutique hotel. Perfect for people that want chilled out calm. Space to relax. Wonderful staff, we loved our room - a beachfront bungalow. Half board, 4 courses for dinner and a wide breakfast choice. All delicious.

Excellent stay. Hotel is small which is a huge plus. Felt authentic. Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms could use an update but that did not bother us.

I love this little gem of a hotel. It’s a nice alternative if you don’t want to stay in a big resort. This was my second time here. I love the beach bungalows. My only complaint is that the mattress was extremely firm.

Love our stay in Petit Lafitte, the location, the ambience, the food, you truly relaxing and feeling taken care of in this hotel. If I were to add a small “even better if”, would be a little refresh of the rooms. This is not a big deal though as you’re not spending too much time there - you enjoy the beach, the restaurant and outdoor seatings.

Waking up right on the beach and being able to step just a few feet into the water felt like a dream. The beach is a little rocky right in front, but if you walk up or down the shore, you’ll find plenty of spots for a swim. The water is warm and it was such a treat to start the day with the sunrise and wind down with the sunset. The half board option was an unexpected bonus that made things easy, especially since the hotel isn’t right in centro Playa del Carmen. Every meal was delicious, and the setting made it even more special. The staff were wonderful — so kind, welcoming, and incredibly hardworking. They’re there day and night, and it made us appreciate the experience even more, especially since this was a quiet and restorative getaway for us after working so much. Rurik and Edgar kept the fun going at the bar, Anna at reception greeted us so warmly, Mr. Manuel and his restaurant team made meals memorable, and Alexandro at the gate added such a personal touch. Petit Lafitte truly has a magic you don’t find everywhere. We honestly didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return!

We had a truly perfect stay! We booked a beachfront room, and waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning was absolutely magical. The service throughout our stay was exceptional—every staff member was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was outstanding, with a great variety of delicious options. Both the check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient, making everything completely stress-free. Choosing this hotel for our anniversary getaway was the best decision we could have made. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special and unforgettable experience! Thank you!

Intimate hotel 15 minute drive away from the main strip. If you are after a little bit of paradise away from the hubbub of daily life this is it!!

I wanted to relax and not hear the noise from 5th Ave. it was the right choice of hotel. The beach is not for swimming so you have to move a bit but not a big deal. Overall great stay !

Great by place to come and stay. Right on the beach. The only downside to this place is the availability to parking is very low. Quiet place and about 20 min from downtown Playa.

Personnel très serviable, beau bungalow en bois sur le sable, beaux bâtiments en bois pour les repas et la terrasse du bar. Dîners et petits déjeuners très bien, du choix 👍seul petit bémol la plage avec des algues qu'ils s'efforcent d'enlever tous les matins mais elles reviennent sans arrêt et c est sur toute la côte

If you like to swim in the ocean, this is definitely not the place for you. Ocean axis still rocky.You cannot even stand up because of how many rocks are in the way.

Old they make or seem nicer online the staff replies for any concerns with a delay so if you need something you have to go to the reception to ask for it and to get out of the property then taxis are very expensive they do not offer any transportation to downtown

Cozy house with traditional style, mixed with nature! One thing is that the beach/ocean is not as good as Cancun. To be more exact, way far behind. But one of the right places to extend to Tulum and Coba ruins as well as nearby amazing cenotes.

Everything was beautiful and well kept . Excellent place if you want to relax and stay away from busy and crowed hotels . It’s a 10 minute ride to Quinta Avenida . Breakfast and dinner were included and delicious! Drinks were great ! We will definitely come back .
