I had not been to Miami Beach in 20 years and loved my stay at the Pelican. EVERYBODY employed by the hotel was awesome. I didn’t get all the names, but I’ll share a few: Julio - awesome bartender. Maria - checked me in and was super-helpful throughout my stay. Japheth - great dinner service. Paolo - made sure breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the overall dining experience was phenomenal. Amenities: dine onsite for a 20% discount late nite. Happy hour is cool with a free drink. Free beach chairs across the street is fantastic. When I go back, I will only go back to see my friends at Pelican.

I should have done my homework regarding no gym, pool, microwave, convenient parking, and other amenities. Anyone interested in the property also should be aware that it is a small and older building, the elevator repeatedly fails, valet parking can take up to 30 min to get your car, it is noisy as HELL outside the property, and management services are disorganized.

Ok, so its a retro hotel on beachfront and that's it. upon check in a $300 hold is placed on your card, valet parking is $43.00 dollars. The bed was hard as a rock and we spent a sleepless night, it was a painful experience. The refrigerator did not work...UGG! this is supposed to be fun not annoying. Then at check out there was a $38.00 resort fee!! We asked for what and they said " amenities". What amenities? No pool, no gym, no bikes, WHAT AMENITIES?? We felt it was a total rip off, so you decide how to spend your hard earned vacation funds!!!!

Friendly staff, very nice rooms (201 & 203) with a great ocean view and an lot of space. The restaurant is also very good and the rooftop was really nice and cozy. The Hotel offered free sun-beds at the beach (you have to pay for the umbrella if you need one).

Excellent location! Beautifully remodeled. Super friendly staff. Just across the street from the beach and the hotel provides lounge chairs and beach towels for the guest. And daily happy hour with a complimentary Aperol Spritz!

The elevator makes a very loud bing-di-bing noise every time the door opens. I can be heard in every room, and as it's Miami Beach, that can go on all night. We have chosen not to stay as the only room they had was next to that elevator, and were told that we wouldn't be charged. They have charged us anyway for the full reservation of several days and have not refunded us despite their repeated assurance to do so. They are not even responding to our emails. Very unprofessional and immature management, I would stay away from this place.

Luckily got an amazing ocean facing room. Only downside was non opening windows which mean having to have air con on all the time even in cold weather. Great location, cheap and easy valet parking, and an excellent restaurant serving authentic Italian food and a very good breakfast reduced for guests, all excellent quality food and ingredients.

I was thrilled by what a beautiful room this was and in a great location. We only stayed one night after a cruise, but I wish we'd had more time in this great hotel. Everything was clean, quiet, and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel has the art deco, the Diesel and the beach vibe. Rooms are large and newly renovated. Cleanliness is the only downside of the place - we found hair and dirt from the floor but nothing too bad.

Lovely clean room. Great service. The hotel staff were very courteous and the restaurant food was really good. I had a pasta dish for dinner which felt very authentic. They offer a breakfast deal for guests at an affordable price. I recomend and would stay there again

Ideal location on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. Steps away from the ocean and tons of restaurants and shops. The rooms are small but sufficient. You don’t stay on Ocean Drive to spend a lot of time in your hotel room anyway! And if you did want a night in to watch a movie, it is plenty comfortable for that. Very clean.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed by everyone. Cleanliness was great, rooms were kept well. I love that each room has its own theme and decor. We can’t wait to stay again to see what some of the other rooms look like. We always had fresh towels and never had to ask for a thing.

This hotel is full of Art Deco character. Our room was huge and overlooked Ocean Drive, the boardwalk, the volleyball courts and beyond that the sea. The staff were very friendly and the cocktails very potent ! The small outside dining area served good breakfast and dinners and was great for people watching. The only downside was that because of the exciting location and outlook it was a bit noisy at night, but in our view a price worth paying.

Enjoyable hotel - beds are hard as rocks. I called down the evening we checked in but they could not get me a topper because house keeping was already gone. I had to sleep in a chair that was in the room. These aren’t firm beds, their boards.

Front desk was very friendly, location is awesome. The room is comfy, but very basic. No table or desk in the room and the chair was just for looks, you couldn’t sit in it. My biggest issue was the water temp was so inconsistent! It would be burning hot then cold and you had to keep turning the knobs. The water pressure was terrible. Overall though the location beats everything and a bonus the bed was actually really comfy.

We had a wonderful stay at The Pelican hotel. The staff were exceptional, with a special mention to Chris at the front desk for his outstanding service. The food and drinks were fantastic. Despite the hotel's location on the main strip, it felt quiet and peaceful. The rooms are not entirely soundproof, but it wasn't a major issue. A heads up for beach-goers: resort fees do not cover umbrella rentals. Don't forget to take advantage of the complimentary drinks offered during your stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely return.

Front desk representatives such as Lorenze and the man who checked me out early Sunday(I didn't catch his name) were so helpful with suggestions and my Uber pickup. The breakfast I had was great and the amenities such as beach towels, chairs, and a beverage fridge that was restocked daily were such a nice bonus. For my first trip to Miami, I think that the Pelican hotel was the perfect choice and I would return for a future visit.

This place has truly change. We have been visiting since 2015 and over the years, this last stay is it. The staff speak very little English. Our plane was delayed and we missed a night of stay, we had to pay the resort fee for the day we missed. It was my husband 50th birthday, I sent messages like we been doing for years. Over the years we have been treated with extra perks ( updated room, or bottle of champagne, or complimentary drink of our choice). Restaurant/Hotel down from them even gave a complimentary birthday drink, while we dine. This time nothing. We spent an additional $440 on food latte and drinks. They even charged us for to go coffee as we departed and it was $14.

The elevator makes a very loud bing-di-bing noise every time the door opens. I can be heard in every room, and as it's Miami Beach, that can go on all night. We have chosen not to stay as the only room they had was next to that elevator, and were told that we wouldn't be charged. They have charged us anyway for the full reservation of several days and have not refunded us despite their repeated assurance to do so. They are not even responding to our emails. Very unprofessional and immature management, I would stay away from this place.

Arrived very early …room not ready but wasn’t told we had access to beach chairs across the street till much later in day when room was open. The did honor the free drink but we weren’t told you had to use by a certain time in a specific location. They just to be more efficient with the information.

From the moment I arrived and spoke to the manager, Oscar, I felt like this was going to be a great place to stay. It didn’t disappoint with the rest of the staff being very helpful and attentive. I will be returning with my wife for a vacation purely down to how Oscar treated me during my stay. Thank you Oscar and the rest of the team. What a great hotel in South Beach!!!

Great property. It’s like being on the Vegas strip. Not always the safest, lots of noise, parking is a pain in the butt (valet only and it takes a while), but what a beautiful property, lots of places to eat, and a great place to people watch. Thanks for a great holiday

This hotel is full of Art Deco character. Our room was huge and overlooked Ocean Drive, the boardwalk, the volleyball courts and beyond that the sea. The staff were very friendly and the cocktails very potent ! The small outside dining area served good breakfast and dinners and was great for people watching. The only downside was that because of the exciting location and outlook it was a bit noisy at night, but in our view a price worth paying.

We stayed 2 nights in the suite Lust in space. The place is gorgeous and smells so good! The staff made us feel like VIPs. Everything is super clean. We had supper at their restaurant, the food was delicious, a bit on the expensive side but you pay for quality. We also ordered breakfast in the room. Again, quality, portion, taste and presentation were impecable. I would definitely recommand this hotel. The only down side, and it really is not the fault of the hotel, we were there during spring break. We arrived in the evening and the streets surrounding were blocked and A LOT of party people were roaming the streets. We had to park 2 streets away where the valet was posted. Not easy to find, I had to call the hotel twice to find him. He took our car and we had to walk to the hotel with our luggage, about 10 min walk amidst the 'party'. There was a security agent controling the door when we arrived. We wanted to live the night life on miami beach but decided against it after seeing how ectic it was. We stayed in our room the rest of the evening after having supper. During the day after, outside was really good. There was still traces of the night before but the city was at it cleaning up. The hotel personal really did all they could to make us feel safe, they really had no control over what was going on outside. I would just watch out if you book during March (yes it goes on for a few weekends in March) unless it's the kind of action you are looking for.

The property was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I did not like the $300 security deposit that still has not been returned. Food was fairly expensive and nothing special. We were told that our wristbands were for two free drinks, but it was a buy one get one free. The drinks were 24.00 and 18.00.

I had not been to Miami Beach in 20 years and loved my stay at the Pelican. EVERYBODY employed by the hotel was awesome. I didn’t get all the names, but I’ll share a few: Julio - awesome bartender. Maria - checked me in and was super-helpful throughout my stay. Japheth - great dinner service. Paolo - made sure breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the overall dining experience was phenomenal. Amenities: dine onsite for a 20% discount late nite. Happy hour is cool with a free drink. Free beach chairs across the street is fantastic. When I go back, I will only go back to see my friends at Pelican.

Why doesn’t this hotel have complimentary coffee in the room and I got one at the bar BLACK SMALL COFFEE FOR $5.20? Most of hotels around the world have complimentary coffee. Thank you
