We had a great stay! We upgraded for $50 to an ocean-view suite, which was totally worth it. The highlight was definitely the pool with the cliff jump — so much fun for both my kid and I! Rooms and facilities were clean and the staff were helpful. The only thing to note is that while it’s an all-inclusive resort, food isn’t available at all hours. Make sure to check the restaurant schedules so you know when and where meals are being served. Overall, we had an awesome time and would definitely come back.

This is our second year back at Marina El Cid. The beach area isn’t ideal. It has barriers to keep the seaweed from coming to the shore. There’s always trucks with cleaning crew trying to clear it as much as possible. If you’re in the main pool, expect to smell the gas from these trucks for hours. The Hotel has plenty of food selection, entertainment, shows, live music every night. The best part of staying at Marina El Cid is you could enjoy all 3 resorts and fully utilize the “all inclusive” All 3 locations are all connected together (1 is across the street). Golf carts 24/7 to get you anywhere in all 3 resorts. It’s not a luxurious resort but its tropical gardens, ponds, pools and rooms are very clean. Definitely worth the money!

Staff is amazing. Housekeeping cleaned rooms twice daily. No matter what pool you choose waiter will got to you and bring you your drink anythime anywhere. Every morning at breakfast where filter coffee us served ( but we like esspresso) waiter would go to the bar in the lobby to get us esspresso. Girls in the kids club are engaged with kidscto the max. They taking kids to pool, to visit dolphins, thy do all kinds of outdoor and indoor activities . My 6 years old boy litterally cried last night and didnt want to go home. Breakfast options are buffet standard. Good , many varieties but personaly i am not fan of buffet , and i liked mexican varieties in the options. Several a la cart restaurants within resort offer variety of different world cuisine and food is amazing . Japanise , French , Italian , Mediteranian, American and of course Mexican a la cart dinjng for lunch and dinner. Every night 3-4 different shows at 3 different location/times and not boring shows but nice performers . Two rooftop pools , Adult only pool , Big jump with 12 feet deep pool Grear slide for kids and adults 3 beaches I am impressed and will be back

Most of our stays there the power went out. According to front desk they said the town power line caught on fire from the storm. The whole resort was without ac nor running water. The power was on and off all day, continuing for a total of 3-4 days.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent 5-night stay at your resort. While the first two days of our trip were pleasant, a brief power outage was followed by three days of critical air conditioning malfunction, which significantly impacted our stay. The lack of air conditioning led to extremely high humidity levels in our rooms, causing the floors to become wet and slick. My children slipped and fell multiple times, which was concerning. The unbearable heat also made dining in your restaurants and relaxing in the lobby very uncomfortable. While the pool and grounds were well-maintained, the beach was unfortunately unusable due to high levels of seaweed. Although efforts were made to contain and clean it, swimming was not possible. We also noticed an unpleasant sewer smell in certain areas of the property. We brought these issues to the attention of the reception, and they kindly upgraded us from the Marina building to Ventus Ha. However, despite being a beautiful building, this upgrade was inconvenient, and the air conditioning in the new room was still not working effectively, with the temperature remaining a balmy 80 degrees. The restaurant requiring reservations was unfortunately booked 3-4 days in advance, which meant I was only able to secure one reservation over my five-day stay. Additionally, the main dinner buffet seemed to offer repetitive selections. I hope you will consider these points for future improvements.

Overall, the stay was great. The resort had three different properties, all with really nice pools and beautiful maintained outside areas. The sargassum at the beach was intrusive. We spent no time on the beach whatsoever because there was so much in the water. The resort however, worked hard every day to try to stay on top of it and clear it. The one real negative about the resort was the unavailability for making dinner reservations. We spent four nights there and on day number one we were told there were absolutely no reservations available for any of the restaurants on the first two nights we were there. The last two nights we were there, there was some availability however it was either to eat dinner at 4 o’clock in the afternoon or at 9:30 in the evening. That was one major component we were very disappointed in.

Amazing property, many pools, clean, great service, polite and smily staff. Unfortunately 2 out of the 10 days, they had power outages resulting in no air conditioning, no elevator and intermittent water in the rooms, lobby and restaurants. Front desk upgraded us from Marina to Ventus on the 5th days, and it was fantastic after. Miguel (Manager of the Italian restaurant Trattoria D´Gulio) was exceptional...he really made our 20th anniversary memorable. Himself and his staff. Truly appreciate it!

Great Service and Family Amenities, But Beach and Room Conditions Need Improvement We stayed at Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort All Inclusive in Cancún, Mexico from June 7 to June 12, 2025, for a multigenerational family trip. Our group included six people (two adults and four kids), my mother, and my in-laws. The resort offered a lot for families, and overall, we had an enjoyable stay. The staff was excellent—friendly, helpful, and accommodating from check-in to check-out. The resort grounds were clean and well-kept, and the pool area, especially with the water slide, was a hit with our kids. We loved all the pools and the food was mostly better than we expected, lots of fun activities. The room smelled dank like there was mold present... yuck. My Uncle and his wife stayed in another room and they had a similar experience. We had mostly positive feedback, the platinum club was awesome because we could float top shelf liquor on top of otherwise wimpy drinks lol the beach though... big disappointment. I realize there is not much the resort can do about that but the Sargassum (seaweed) made the beach unenjoyable. We went to Isla Mujera and that was a georgous beach and beautiful town, way better than Cozumel. Playa Del Carmen was a nice surprise though, very cool town. Cancun is great but mostly for clubbing, the beach sucks.

We had a wonderful couple of days at this resort. The staff are so awesome and friendly making the experience enjoyable and comfortable. The food at the buffet was very good with a new theme every night. The areas all around the resort including our room were impeccably clean and you can tell this resort prioritizes cleanliness. Overall great experience and would definitely come again!

Only complaint was that we had booked 2 rooms in the Marina El Cid resort and at check in, the agent told us that he was upgrading us to Ventus, their latest hotel. The rooms were great but the balconies were blocked completely by trees. We could not see anything. It was depressing and we felt claustrophobic in that room. We also felt like the Marina El Cid was more vibrant. The next day, we went to ask to move us back to our original bookings and we also asked for rooms with ocean view. We had to pay extra for each room, which we did as at this point, we just wanted to have a room with a view. The rooms at the Marina El Cid were a bit dated but we enjoyed waking up every morning with the sea view. I was told that they don't cut the trees as it's part of their wild life protection plan. What I would suggest is to plant everywhere on the property, but at least don't plant trees in front of balconies. Or otherwise cut them short, so that they don't block the view. Imagine going in a resort and opening the curtains to see nothing but trees blocking your view. I was also scared to go on the balcony as there could be any kind of lizards etc in the trees. I would advise to book the restaurants as soon as you check in to get good time slots for dinner. The property is huge, so use the free golf carts service provided to move around. The rooftop bar in building 28 has a pool and great views. There are several pools around the property.

This is one of 3 properties you will have full access to. There's golf carts you can catch to take you around to the different properties if you don't care to walk. Of the 3 properties this one is the oldest one. That being said the 2 nights of our stay was good. The rooms were not dated and the resort was kept clean. During our stay the A/C gave out so they moved us to one of the newer properties Ventus Ha. This property you can tell was much newer. The rooms were pretty much the same but had a slightly more modern feel. The food for the most part was buffet style other than the restaurants you needed reservations for. The best restaurant was KOBO which was a hibachi style, which we ended up eating there the last 2 nights but the reservations for it fills up quick. For the adults there is a root top bar if you just want to get away from the kids, which also had a small pool. Overall, the stay was pleasant but if I had to book again I would choose Ventus Ha.

Most of our stays there the power went out. According to front desk they said the town power line caught on fire from the storm. The whole resort was without ac nor running water. The power was on and off all day, continuing for a total of 3-4 days.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent 5-night stay at your resort. While the first two days of our trip were pleasant, a brief power outage was followed by three days of critical air conditioning malfunction, which significantly impacted our stay. The lack of air conditioning led to extremely high humidity levels in our rooms, causing the floors to become wet and slick. My children slipped and fell multiple times, which was concerning. The restaurant requiring reservations was unfortunately booked 3-4 days in advance, which meant I was only able to secure one reservation over my five-day stay. Additionally, the main dinner buffet seemed to offer repetitive selections. I hope you will consider these points for future improvements.

I booked this hotel and was placed in an adjacent property because I would not pay $300 usd upgrade to stay on the main property. I was allowed only two devices on WiFi and was told any additional devices would be $60 per device. This was extremely disappointing and inconvenient since I travelled with my family. I was informed of credits I had and showing interest was told I had to assist to a 2 hour meeting for basically a timeshare. I refused the meeting and was told I wasn’t allowed to use the credits since I didn’t want to attend the meeting. All of this made the experience very unpleasant. Unless you are ready to dish out extra money for things that are supposed to be part of your stay, I would not recommend this place. Also there is no real beach area at all.

Everything is good and amazing but the one thing I didn’t like is you only get 2 WiFi codes person. So if you’re going with a your family of 4 then only 2 person can use the WiFi. Also you cannot change the device the WiFi is on.

Front desk staff changed us to a different hotel property. No AC for 2 days due to power issue. Towel station frequently out of clean pool towels. Staff never apologized for any inconvenience they caused, other than the ones who tried to sell us tours or spa packages. This is the fourth time we have been to Cancun and will never come back to this resort!

Just spent 5 nights at Marina El Cid resort and spa. Our stay was great. The staff was wonderful, the resort was clean (and always being cleaned!) the food was excellent and there were several restaurants to choose from. The only negative was the mosquitoes so take bug spray. Would definitely go back.

Nous avons passé une semaine magnifique en famille (2 adultes, 2 ados) au Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort. Le site est superbe, ultra propre, les repas sont excellents (autant le buffet que les restos à la carte), et les spectacles en soirée sont vraiment de qualité. Le gros plus : on peut aller dans trois resorts différents selon l’ambiance recherchée — c’est génial pour varier. Seul bémol : on s’est laissé embarquer dans une présentation soi-disant de 60 minutes pour une « carte privilège » .. qui a duré 3h30. Beaucoup de promesses floues, des frais cachés, et finalement, rien d’avantageux. On aurait préféré profiter du resort! On nous avait promis un « tour gratuit » à Tulum en échange de la présentation — au final, c’était rempli de frais cachés, mal organisé, et ce qu’on nous a vendu comme une excursion s’est avéré être tout sauf un vrai tour… rien de gratuit là-dedans. Bref, à part ce détour inutile, tout a été absolument parfait. On recommande chaudement — en évitant la fameuse "présentation".

Staff is amazing. Housekeeping cleaned rooms twice daily. No matter what pool you choose waiter will got to you and bring you your drink anythime anywhere. Every morning at breakfast where filter coffee us served ( but we like esspresso) waiter would go to the bar in the lobby to get us esspresso. Girls in the kids club are engaged with kidscto the max. They taking kids to pool, to visit dolphins, thy do all kinds of outdoor and indoor activities . My 6 years old boy litterally cried last night and didnt want to go home. Breakfast options are buffet standard. Good , many varieties but personaly i am not fan of buffet , and i liked mexican varieties in the options. Several a la cart restaurants within resort offer variety of different world cuisine and food is amazing . Japanise , French , Italian , Mediteranian, American and of course Mexican a la cart dinjng for lunch and dinner. Every night 3-4 different shows at 3 different location/times and not boring shows but nice performers . Two rooftop pools , Adult only pool , Big jump with 12 feet deep pool Grear slide for kids and adults 3 beaches I am impressed and will be back

We had a great trip. Overall the staff was excellent besides one very grumpy man at the lobby bar. The food at the restaurants was excellent, the buffet was good at breakfast and lunch. They do however really need a place for 24 hour snacks . They offer room service, however some nights we waited for over 2 hours. If there had been a place to grab something it would have been perfect :) The pools were nice, there isn’t much of a beach but that didn’t bother us . We would return to this property. Overall a great holiday

I have very mixed feelings on the resort. The room, pool and the staff other than the front desk was great. The restaurant food was good if you could get in. We couldn’t get reservations the first few days. The buffet dinner was not very good. And very long lines if you wanted something fresh like pancakes or tacos, etc. The front desk staff including the manager, Manuel were not very helpful! The towel policy was never told to us and they didn’t care. They didn’t tell us about the extra charges for sheets either until it was too late. Very rude and they are not very considerate. Probably that worst experience at a hotel with the front desk staff we have ever had and we had booked 6 rooms.

We booked with Hotel Marina El Cid but when we arrived to the property we learned that the resort actually consists of three sections that are listed as separate hotels on Expedia: Marina El Cid, Ventus, and Ventus Ha' (listed from oldest to the newsest). Each hotel has a unique architecture & very distinct from others but all guests can use any facilities across all three hotels! Ventus Ha' opened Dec'24 and this is where we were given our room. It is furthest from the ocean deeper in the jungle. It is a short walk to the beach or you can call for a golf cart ride any time of the day. We were happy to be away this time around because of the algae bloom/awful smell from the ocean. Our room at Ventus Ha' was spacious, hammock on the balcony, spacious bathroom. The bed was firm so were the pillows (not a big fan of those). Room was cleaned well once a day and all towels were changed regardless the fact that we hung them and didn't mind to keep them for a few days. Each hotel has its own restaurant set but everybody could go to any of them. Reservations are necessary and concierge will make the reservations for two days ahead. We realized that Ventus Ha' had the best two restaurants (Japanese and Aakat) so we stayed close to our hotel for breakfast and lunch. We also booked those two restaurants for dinner twice. Buffets were fairly small, didn’t have much of a variety of food but definitely basic breakfast options. Staff everywhere is friendly. Overall excellent experience!

Great if you like staying on property or only taking official excursions. Taxis charge a bit extra to go to the property as it is not right near town. The restaurants requiring reservations are great and the main one not requiring reservations is good but a bit repetitive, but it can be challenging to get a reservation so get them as soon as you can and be flexible.

This is one of 3 properties you will have full access to. There's golf carts you can catch to take you around to the different properties if you don't care to walk. Of the 3 properties this one is the oldest one. That being said the 2 nights of our stay was good. The rooms were not dated and the resort was kept clean. During our stay the A/C gave out so they moved us to one of the newer properties Ventus Ha. This property you can tell was much newer. The rooms were pretty much the same but had a slightly more modern feel. The food for the most part was buffet style other than the restaurants you needed reservations for. The best restaurant was KOBO which was a hibachi style, which we ended up eating there the last 2 nights but the reservations for it fills up quick. The activities were fun and suitable for all ages. The service was excellent. Cons: Reservations at the sit-down restaurants were very limited because advance booking is required. The hotel's location isn't the best, as it's very far from the city center. Accessing Uber is nearly impossible, and the only option is to take a taxi from the hotel if you want to explore Cancun on your own without a tour.

The resort was very nice. It was very convenient to get around the property. The Ventus was easy to get to you actually didn't have to leave the property. You could choose from different pools with different levels of activities. The buffets were conveniently located and had a good variety of options. There were people working to maintain the property and improve the appearance all the time. There was a lot of wildlife. It was only about 2 miles from Puerto Moreles.

I really liked the cleanliness, safety and staff customer service. Everyone was super friendly and put a lot of effort into making sure our stay was super enjoyable. It's a great place for all ages! I would recommend facilitating more golf carts for easier transportation amd perhaps enabling pick ups at other locations besides the resort lobbies.

The food was absolutely awful. Near impossible to get a reservation at any of the restaurants unless you wanted to eat at 5:00 or 9:30. Wifi is only for 2 guests, and it was very slow and intermittent. Not much to do at night. Pool and rooms were fine. Service was great. Wouldn’t go back.

While we enjoyed the renovated rooms, outstanding housekeeping, and exceptional specialty restaurants, significant issues overshadowed our stay. A surprise $250 "tax" upon arrival was an unwelcome shock. The buffet was lacking and wait times for freshly cooked were long. Most alarming was the gym staff's unacceptable service and any attempt to address my concern. I cannot recommend this is resort due to its profound failure in customer care.

The food at all the restaurants here is amazing!! Best we’ve ever had at a hotel in Cancun. The staff could be rude. They seem bothered when you order certain drinks. The service at the bars was what I didn’t like. At times I was second thinking ordering anything to drink.

This resort is great. Lots of nightly entertainment. Lots of dining options. The food is some of the best ive had for an all-inclusive. Reeally great staff!!! Very accommodating. Loved it all.

The beach was terrible, I guess the way it’s designed with the jetty next to it but it is a magnet for seaweed. They put bumpers out in the water that seemed to help collect it. Also it smelled so bad. No one used the beach. Reservations were also a problem. We were there 5 days and only got 2 restaurant reservations, and not the restaurants we wanted, the rest of the time we had to eat at the buffet. Very disappointed.

We had a great trip. Overall the staff was excellent besides one very grumpy man at the lobby bar. The food at the restaurants was excellent, the buffet was good at breakfast and lunch. They do however really need a place for 24 hour snacks . They offer room service, however some nights we waited for over 2 hours. If there had been a place to grab something it would have been perfect :) The pools were nice, there isn’t much of a beach but that didn’t bother us . We would return to this property. Overall a great holiday

Property was well maintained and had an air conditioned enclosed lobby (huge plus). Main buffet was small and food was decent. All of the restaurants restaurants we went to were great. The lunch at Dalia’s or the Mexican restaurant were awesome (honestly would return just for that). No issues using the amenities at the sister resorts. Would definitely stay here again. Only drawback was the large amount of sea weed at the beach, but that seemed to be affecting the whole Maya Riviera.

At the lobby, “super Mario” said he will take care of us for the entire stay but after we denied the meeting, he never talked to us. He didn’t tell us the opening hours of the pools or help with any restaurants. We had to figure out all by ourselves by holding a map and asking people for our first two days. It will be much better if more information is provided when he sat down with us claiming he is going yo take care of us rather than just aiming for us attending the meeting.

We were there for 7 days. The checked in process was ok and we got there around 3:15 pm and had to wait at least an hour before our room was ready. We got the bands, so we were still able to eat and roamed around while waiting for the room. Foods were okayed. We might consider going back, but not a must going back.

Family friendly resort with lot engaging activities going on with main marina pool. Staff are really working hard to keep the resort well and people entertained. This is my second visit and I can say that it’s different from my last visit. Very hard to get any reservations in dine -in restaurants. Food options were limited and not all bars were open. This could be due to off season but it does let down overall experience

I love the room was spacious. The staff was always very helpful. Got reservations to al la carte restaurants upon check in without any issues. Lots of animals on the property. Beautiful property. The food was always good. Try the pastries at breakfast buffet, they are delicious.
