The establishment is gorgeous, what’s done of it. It’s obvious there is work going on. The resort felt very safe, family friendly, and was quiet though. As for what I didn’t like. 1. Resort felt very understaffed, in the dining establishments we wouldn’t see our waiter for at least 30 minutes sometimes. (Terrible) At the pool right below the main lobby 2 waiters for easily 250 people at the pool. (Really?) 2. Resort has only 2 ATM machines? Here’s the kicker, both broken at the same time? No money for guests. Told come to front desk at certain time, they would have. Go and nothing. Told return later at another time. Return and now I’m sorry we already ran out! (Very inconvenient) 3. Pools close at 7pm. (Never heard of that before)

Resort was huge. The buffet was great breakfast lunch and dinner if you dont book a restaurant reservation. Buffet has ton of options but if you like a sit down dinner know that the service in the 3 restaurants we visited was super slow. Many pools and lots of chairs, look for shady area or umbrella early on if thats your preference. Great afternoon activites for kids/families, the girls from the vibe team were so friendly. Theres a party going on every night but its only loud if you are right near the action at the main pool. Oh, and you will will see a wedding, or 2 or 3 during your stay. During the day the beach was never busy while we were there, quiet there too, except nights with a wedding beach party. We saw the expected wildlife, lizards like big iguanas and small lizards in trees, many different birds, also cats around the resort, also dogs on the beach, a one night a racoon family looking for late night snack in the trash. We were warned that housekeeping and room service were slow but my experience was that they were very responsive and quick, just wish there were more options on the room service food menu. Overall the kids had fun and didnt complain of being bored. Just make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen!

Beautiful place, staff work so hard, food was great, pools wonderful. However the smoking on the property was not enjoyable at all very gross. And this was the first resort ive been to that didnt make the swim up bars adult only which made for some very not appropriate behavior in front of young children. Other downfall this resort is in the middle of no where and does not allow for uber to come pick you up so only option is a set cab ride price which was very expensive. I would recommend this place if you dont intend to leave it.

Not a very responsive team. It is a resort that you make what you can of it. I was a bit disappointed with the service. On a plus note, the gym and it team were great!

Pools were nice, drinks were good. They cleaned seaweed each day from the beach. Food was good but not great. Plenty of options to choose from though. We would come back

I believe they’re in transition with remodeling however, the elevators were my largest complaint. Slow and hot like a sauna.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and appreciated many aspects, However, there was one significant issue that affected our experience: the towel situation regarding sun loungers. It was frustrating to see guests reserving chairs as early as 5:00AM, which left our group scattered and sometimes without a spot to relax. While I understand the desire to claim a sunbed, it should not come at the expense of other guests' enjoyment. We often found ourselves having to stash our belongings on the outdoor snack area chairs just to enjoy the pool and beach, as some guests would leave their towels on chairs all day without returning all day or some people would put multiple towels in all pool or beach areas so they could do both at the same time limiting chairs for other guests. I believe the hotel can accommodate more guests, but the limited availability of beach and pool chairs creates a challenging scenario for everyone, especially for those not in the Diamond Club. We had to sit at diamond club before we got kicked out to go back to the main area to not find lounger. I hope the management can address this to enhance the overall experience for all visitors

Great selection of restaurants and evening entertainment. Wonderful spa too: very relaxing. Room service staff very friendly. Pools clean and it was easy to get a sunbed even without setting an early morning alarm. Great, relaxing holiday overall. Chichen Itza and Cenote excursion was amazing too.

Just came back after staying a week with a group of 10. Shortly after we arrived we found out that the resort was closing in 2 weeks for a reopening in January 2026 as it was bought out by another company so every part of the stay was a disaster as it was clear the staff remaining could care less about the hospitality since the resort was closing anyway. The staff was unpleasant, the pools were nasty, half our group were diagnosed with ear infections from how dirty the pool water was, the ocean was not swimmable which now makes sense as to why there are no beach pictures posted from the resort. The lobby and restaurants are tiny with very poor service and the buffet smelt of a dead fish and mildew with very long wait times. They trying to upsell everything and all of their services are 100x more expensive than the most luxurious offerings in the states. Had we know they were closing we would have booked another resort simply to receive the survive as paid for and although a reopening might change our experience it’s hard to consider ever going back when they didn’t even care we were there in the first place. There are soooo many other resorts to choose from, don’t pick this one. You’ll be paying the same and you’ll receive nothing on retuen

Property is beautiful! They were doing construction on one of the pools and throughout the resort. The one on the pool I barely noticed because there are so many places to swim. Loved the staff. Very easy mindless and relaxing vacation. Highly recommend the upgrade to diamond club.

The property was not cleaned regularly. There was raccoons roaming around and in the property day and night. The staff did not clean regularly. There was a q-tip and plantain chip in the elevator for 3 days. Trays were stacked up outside the room doors for days before being collected. The elevator was out of service for numerous days, and when taking the stairs the food trays, towels, bedding, etc would be laying on the ground along the stairs. Very disappointed with this Royalton hotel and the service provided by MOST of the staff.

The staff were very friendly for the most part, the rooms were very big but had a horrible smell of sitting water, the pools looked like they were never cleaned and the facility was run down and had many cockroaches. I have been to Mexico many times and can’t remember when I saw a cockroach on the property.

Horrible Check in/out experience, bedbug problem

I do not understand how this is a 5 star resort. We came here for a family wedding. Upon arrival our bed had big brown stain on the sheets and the pillows had black stains on it. The room smelled like sewage and was disgusting. Similar problems happened with multiple people The steamer had mold on it The walls and closets had so much dirt around the corners it was uncomfortable. The towel when they changed it had red blood stains on it!! The food was limited and not good The buffet had a really bad sewage smell The drinks did not have any alcohol in it severely watered down Only good thing was the pool Never coming here again

The most disappointing and disgusting resort I have ever stayed at in my life. Have been all over Mexico and this one wins for the most mediocre. Bed bugs, they don’t clean the cups, constantly begging for tips (would literally says “I’m poor I need a tip) One of the workers in fact asked for a tip after MY safe with MY belongings literally stopped working. That is on the hotel to fix it, it was an inconvenience TO ME. As if I wanted to sit in the room for 3 hours out of my stay to watch the worker fix a safe that the hotel owns. Unreal. Don’t try getting a chair by the pool because you won’t find one. Left money on the nightstand the second day for the maid/workers to restock mini fridge with waters, requested that at 7:30am. Left a $10 usd bill- came back around 4:30pm to get ready for dinner and the $10 bill was taken and no waters were restocked, bed wasn’t made, trash hadn’t been cleared. Please do not stay here.

The property smells of sewage. The shower and sink drain & water smells of sewage, every restaurant and around the property smells of sewage.

The pool area was beautiful, our swim up pool and our room was nice except for the excess amount of mosquitoes. The smell around the facility was horrible especially in the buffet area. We did not enjoy the food except Zen restaurant and Armadillo. The drinks were watered down including the coffee. I ended up getting sick and was unable to fly home the appointed day I had to extend my stay they were not helpful at the guest services or front desk. I had to do everything online. My fiancé and I are highly disappointed especially for the price we paid and it was a recommendation through Expedia as good.

Everywhere on this property is a horrible sewage smell. The water and drains in the shower and sink smell. All around the property and in the restaurants smell of sewage. After you shower the smell is on your skin. We traveled with two other couples and this was the #1 complaint from us all.

The smell of the buffet was absolutely awful every meal it smelled like a backed up sewer. The pool needed maintenance and cleaning, our family suite was in horrible disarray as the pull out couch didn't hold a mattress and one had to be brought to me and the couch was so stained we wouldn't even sit on it. also found small but dead cockroaches in our room must be from fuming or pesticide treatment? 4 out of 15 of our party became ill and cost us a few days of our trip, vomitting and diarrhea. 3.5 stars in my opinion

The cleanliness of the resort was far below expectations—our room had a strong mildew smell, the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, and we even found leftover trash from previous guests. The food at the buffet was repetitive and of poor quality. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for relaxation or quality service. This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing vacations I’ve ever had.

Resort is a bit dated but bed was comfortable, shower was great, and everything was in working order. Great staff. Buffet was very good and dinner at the steakhouse was excellent. Main complaint is too loud music in the pool area. But was great value for what we paid.

My stay at Royalton Riviera was good. My family and I stayed for 6dys. Check-in was good. We are Expedia gold members so we had a separate VIP check-in process. It’s basically a separate room with snacks this property is not a VIP property so no extra perks here. I did my research and found a lot of negative reviews saying a smell coming from the resort like sewage and rooms deteriorating with leaks and mold but decided to give it a try anyway. We did have a problem with a leak in our room which maintenance quickly fixed other than that room was nice. We got a swim out which is nice but it was pretty deep which was not ideal if you have small kids. Food was the best part we enjoyed all the restaurants Agave was my favorite the shrimp tacos were great. Kids liked the Italian restaurant. Staff was for the most part friendly we did encounter a few staff members that were not friendly. Overall a decent stay. Resort will be going under construction in Aug. hopefully they fix all the issues with the rooms and the smell. We will be giving the resort another try once they reopen after the renovation.

We love the kids pool area, the buffet had lots of options and the food was delicious. We booked an ocean view room but they gave us the main pool view, which was annoying cause we had a toddler with us and the nightly entertainment was loud and would be on till 11:15pm, so our daughter couldn't sleep (we did bring a white noise machine). The kids indoor playroom was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and kind

Rooms need attention to details, rooms stink of must and mold, towels were very old and discolored.

Don’t waste your money on Royalton — the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The room was in very poor condition, with all the walls peeling. We couldn’t use the jacuzzi because it was so unsafe you could fall if you got in. The rooftop pool was dirty and peeling, the air conditioning was terrible, and both the buffet and the service were awful. You can even see cockroaches walking on the walls of the buffet. You can try calling customer service, but no one answers. On the first day, they literally sent us to fix the sofa ourselves so that my kids could sleep, saying it wasn’t hard to do. We spent three days with diarrhea from the food. The worst experience I’ve ever had in all my trips to Cancún — they will never see me there again.

Room smells like mold and was dirty. Booked ocean view but can barely see the ocean. Was short staffed and almost impossible to book reservations at any of the restaurants.

Overall we liked the resort, but there were a few little things that could have made it better. We stayed in an ocean front room with an amazing view, balcony on first floor, and a hot tub on second floor balcony. The hot water on the hot tub did not work, but we did fill it with cold water and let the sun warm it up. The room was pretty good, but open floor plan with only a curtain separating the shower and bath from the main area. Prolly fine for couples, but a little inconvenient for a family of 4 with two adult children. The shower was nice with two overhead shower heads, but one of the handles came off in my hand the first time I showered (was obviously already messed up and had been just stuck back on). There were some other cosmetic things with the room we noticed but we are not picky travelers, so none of this was a huge deal for us. Overall the food was good, we were alway able to find something everyone liked. Fish fingers at the food trucks and the chicken strips at Nibbles were really good for lunch around the pools. Omelettes are always my favorite, and they were amazing. Resort has lots of bar options. No problems finding a drink, but the fridge in the room was only stocked with two beers a couple of days and none a couple of days. Not enough for 4 adults, but again, not a big deal for us. The beach is nice but the water wasn’t “pretty” in the swimming area. Quite a bit of sea weed, but they were working hard to clean it up everyday.

This is our second time staying at the Royalton Riviera and for purchasing a 2 bedroom Presidential Suite all it was is two side by side rooms. The advertisement says it is over 1,800 square feet and it wasn’t. The showers were dirty, had grime in the corners and the master shower wouldn’t drain. The doors did not lock without slamming them and none of the patio doors locked. We came back to the room one night to find we had no power and waited hours for someone to come reset a breaker. For buying what was supposed to be a “Presidential Suite” it felt like we got stuck in the farthest away corner in the older, more run down rooms.

Lots of potential, but the good parts are quickly forgotten when you smell sewage throughout the different restaurants and lots of worn down things, including broken shower head, broken door lock, broken cabinets, broken phone, stained/moldy shower hinges, dirty/stained pillows, dirty/stained napkins in restaurants, etc. lack of attention to details

Food was veey good. Didnt get the room we paid for, paid way up for butler aervice and they were non-exsistant. For the cost it wasnt worth it.

Wrong room. Check in took forever. Dinner Reservations all gone before we could check in. Really slow on customer service.

Our recent stay at the Royalton Riviera Cancun was, unfortunately, a huge letdown and not at all reflective of the luxury experience we expected, especially after paying for the Diamond Club upgrade. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this resort was not operating at full capacity or transparency. We weren’t given the room we paid for, and only later were we told that two buildings were closed due to renovations. No one informed us of this before arrival, which felt deceptive. The overall service was average at best. The staff were not particularly friendly or accommodating, and it often felt like we were inconveniencing them with simple requests. Though our butlers were polite and tried their best to assist us, their ability to actually improve the experience was limited. For example, Diamond Club members are supposed to receive four bottles of liquor in-room, but we were told only one was allowed. After multiple back-and-forths, they agreed to two,but the inconsistency was frustrating. We were also supposed to get a beach bag as part of our Diamond Club amenities. There was none in our room, and I had to practically beg our butler to track one down. The room itself had a roach problem. We found them in the bar area, right next to the table where treats had been left for us. Needless to say, we didn’t eat the food. The food was just okay, not what you’d expect at a “luxury” resort. The service at this resort is not good. Many nights, we waited over 30 minutes to order a drink at dinner and another 30 to order our meals. And that was after a ridiculous process of waiting up until Midnight when dinner reservations open for booking. They need a lot of work in the restaurant and bar operations. It was much worse than when I was there 3 years ago.

I love the royalton I’ve stayed at a few so far and I must say this one wasn’t the best that I’ve experienced. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I went for a long weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We got there late Saturday and was leaving on Tuesday. On Sunday we tried to get reservations to eat literally anywhere and they said everywhere was full. It was my mom’s birthday and they wanted us to eat at the buffet which we did every day we were there. They claim no last minute reservations but I was only there a few days so when should I have made that reservation? So I had to take mom to an outside restaurant “puerto madero” which we loved. Another thing the resort could have been cleaner. We saw the same trash in the same place our whole stay. And no vibe team 🙄

Service was extremely slow everywhere. We have stayed here 5 times and this was by far the worst experience. We leave tips every time we order a drink or sit down. First two days we tried to do sit down lunch at Armadillo and Italian and it took 3 hours both days. Dinner with reservations took multiple hours each night. Diamond club package not worth the money. Reservations were still extremely hard to get. Butler’s not responding. Diamond club bars out of all premium liquor for most of our stay. We will not be back.

This property has the worst service. They are short staffed and staff that’s there could care less. At the buffet, the waiters take 15 minutes to come to your table. The staff is rude. Room service menu is limited and they run out of food so quickly. The beach was full sea weed. They didn’t maintain the beaches. Umbrellas were hard to find because they had very limited number of umbrellas. The waiter at the pool rarely came by. When they did come by, they took 30 minutes to bring the drink, which were watered down. There were bugs in the room. House keeping didn’t come every day. In the room description, it said the suite had kitchenette. It had no glasses or utensils. And it was dirty. A very disappointing experience to say the least.

We booked through Expedia and the check in process was just a nightmare. We waited at the main reception area for about 15 minutes, then the receptionist Luis spent another 10 minutes processing our documents, then told us guests booking from Expedia has to check in at the Diamond club area. He walked us there, looked around seemingly confused, and just told us to sit down. We waited for another 30 minutes, and noticed people coming in later got processed. I then spoke to a staff standing around, explaining the situation, she dismissed us and said "not my department", providing no instructions. We waited for another 10 minutes to speak to another receptionist, then she asked if we gave her our passports. We explained what Luis said, and she seemed annoyed, and told us we needed to give her our passports. And we waited another 20 minutes before we finally sat down with a receptionist. And this guy was just the worst. He made zero eye contact, chatting with another guy the whole time, checking his phone still taking his time. Absolutely chaotic. I understand busy hours could lead to long waits, but it was clear that the staff there don't communicate with each other, and have no idea what the process was, causing additional wait time. I left a negative feedback on the automated email from Expedia, and Victor came to investigate the situation and was very apologetic. There was nothing to be fixed at that point, but Victor did great making us feel heard.

The property was beautiful and the food was very good at the resort. The room was amazing and very well kept, however the cleaning service failed to properly stock our towels and washcloths. We had 2 people staying in our room and they would always only give us enough for one person everyday. My main issue was with the staff's service. It felt as if they weren't interested in actually helping us, and were more interested in pushing us toward anything that would cause us to spend more than we actually needed to. Or they kept trying to get us to sign up for services we didn't actually need to get to what we DID need. My partner and I were there for a wedding and we booked at the wrong resort. Instead of telling us we needed to get a wedding pass for the other resort where the wedding was being held, the staff kept giving us the runaround, and kept trying to get us to pay for a day pass that was twice the cost. We were given wristbands at the resort we went to for the wedding and were told to leave our passports at the main desk. We forgot to retrieve them, and the next day my partner was told we had to pay the cost of one night since they didn't know if we actually stayed over night (even though they could look at the cameras and see when we left). When I went to the desk, they then said they only needed our wristband (I still had mine on, he didn't have his). It felt as if they, again, just wanted to get money from us instead of telling us what we actually needed to know.

Frustrating Dining Experience – Not Worth It Without Diamond Club It’s hard—or almost impossible—to book dinner at the restaurants if you’re not a Diamond Club member. We couldn’t make any reservations without walking around and asking for help. Even more frustrating, when we finally got into a restaurant, we saw lots of empty tables. It really seemed like they were being held for Diamond or Prime Club guests. I don’t see the point of spending this much money just to feel like you have to beg for dinner. This was our second stay at a Royalton resort—our first was in Jamaica, and this time in Cancun. Unfortunately, the experience this time left us very disappointed, especially when it came to dining. For the same price, there are other resorts with similar amenities and much better food access—or you can pay a bit more for a far better overall experience. If food matters to you, book somewhere else.

The resort itself is amazing but when checking in we felt that we were in a sales pitch for 2 hours. The process would have been quick except the hotel trying to sell their timeshares with “cheap” excursion prices if you sat through a 90 minute presentation. We wanted to enjoy our stay and our first day was not what we expected. After the sales pitch, the staff is amazing and very attentive.

Not much to do. The area is very secluded Feels and smells like your in the middle of a swamp.

Did not like not having shuttle service. Leaving me to negotiate cost with my own transportation. Ended up paying 2 different fares to get there and back to airport. Dining options are not too extensive. No Mexican restaurant? Caribbean restaurant was average at best. Best options were from buffet ...go figure. Room service for late night meals is a good addition. Pools were clean and landscaping was good. One last thing... Upgraded Junior suite came with no with no kettle, coffee maker or microwave. Had to carry hot water across resort for my wife when she needed tea for upset stomach. SMH.

Great property, a little dated. Beachfront. Plenty of food choices, sit down restaurants require advance reservation. Not near shopping areas, need to get taxi if you want to go outside resort shopping, at an additional cost..Friendly, good customer service

The property is beautiful and away from everything. I recommend staying here only if you’re not planning on doing tours or visit other places cause it’s expensive to leave. Minimum $100 in taxi round trip. Because there is nothing around, If you need anything at the mini market there be ready to be ripped off. A bag of chips costs $14. Bring mosquito repellent as they are very very bad right now. Mosquito repellent there is a $32!! Ridiculous prices. The resort is a little outdated, which is why I believe it’s going through our remodel in the next few months. The service was amazing. All the bartenders are super nice. Alfredo in the pool area was our favorite. Food was good. Buffet had a lot of varieties. Good luck being able to get reservations at the specialty dining. I literally had to stay up until midnight to be able to get some reservations. Mexican was our least favorite. Very blant flavor and the only place we had bad service. Steakhouse was great with Miguel, Asian was amazing with Manuel. Italian was ok. Be careful when checking in to get all your items back. They asked for my passport to check in. I never noticed that they hadn’t given it back to me until I was about to check out. Went to ask and nobody knew anything about it. Multiple people told me there was nothing there and there was nothing they could do. Thankfully Miguel at Front desk was the only one who believed me. He literally called peoples cell phones and found it. Took about 3 hours to get it back.

I came for my birthday trip. The location of the resort are near by two other resorts, 20 minute drive from the airport as well. The resort it really pretty, festive on certain nights, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are 5-6 restaurants with different cultural foods not including the buffet. When I say they are really good, try out Zen, Grazies, Hunter, and, Agave... if you are a foodie you will enjoy your time. The room was very nice and spacious, my only frip was being put in the last building and having to walk far for dinner. Other wise it was a luxurious stay. The hotel was also 30 minutes out from our chosen excursion.

Overall the hotel was underwhelming. The beach was full of seaweed and no attempts were made to try and clean it up for the guest who enjoy the beaches. The app to reserve a La carte dining didn’t showcase the right menu for dinner meals so it was a bit disappointing. Cleaning staff and spa staff were the friendliest. The dining staff could take a lesson from their book. Tipping is an option NOT a requirement so please remind your bar and dining staff of that fact. The things I enjoyed most were the spa experience, the weather and the hospitality area they provide if you have a late flight as it was very thoughtful and appreciated.

Everything was good but not close from hotel area

The resort was not bad, they have a lot of pools but we came mainly for the beach. Their beach is right next to the swamp so there is a smell to it, water is not as nice as the hotel zone area. As for seaweeds, they did a good job at putting up the barrier to control the seaweeds. We only had our room cleaned twice because they would always come later in the afternoon when our baby was napping. we purposely left the room in the morning and afternoon to allow them to clean our room and called to requested room service as well but that didn’t make a difference. Other resorts usually have staff checking on us for drink while we sit on the beach but no staff ever came out to get us our drinks.

This is a great resort! I didn’t get to check out all the restaurants, but the buffet was okay. Room service should have more options, but still good. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I would suggest renting a car as the location is very remote and taxis are very overpriced!!

This is really a beautiful property. They will be renovating soon but even now it still is beautiful. People need to remember these properties are in a very hot climate and things will looked a little sun washed. Staff was very friendly and one of the best buffets I have had. Pools are clean and beautiful.

This resort is not what it used to be. I came in 2020 for my honeymoon and I had an amazing experience so I decided to come back with my family 5 years later. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. First, it is impossible to get a reservation at a restaurant for dinner or even grab lunch at a restaurant because they only open certain amount of restaurants on certain days. So it cannot accommodate everyone staying at the resort. The restaurants are very understaffed so service is very slow. The restaurant we did manage to eat at took an hour to bring out our food. Second, drinks are never in stock I stayed at this resort for 5 days and each day i was told that they were out of piña colada. (The worlds most basic drink). If you think ordering room service is any better think again. Room service on any day at any time took minimum 45 minutes. On one occasion I ordered room service they said it would be 40 minutes but two hours later I still hadn’t received anything. The food is subpar, the entertainment is okay, and the beach is blah. The water is covered in seaweed and brown. The only thing i liked about this resort is the spa. I was highly disappointed and will not be returning.

Unfortunately, I found that the staff was not particularly friendly during my stay. This impacted the overall atmosphere and made it difficult to fully enjoy the otherwise stunning property. Additionally, making dinner reservations proved to be quite a challenge, and once we arrived for our reservation, it took over two hours before our food was served. This level of delay was unexpected and disappointing. I believe your property has great potential, and I would have enjoyed the experience much more had the service been more attentive and welcoming. I hope this feedback is helpful, and that future guests will benefit from improvements in these areas.

We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun at the end of June, after having an amazing experience at the Royalton in Punta Cana the year before. Based on how much we loved our previous stay, it felt like a no-brainer to book with the same resort brand again. The room in Cancun was beautiful—we had a swim-out suite, which I would absolutely recommend. It felt private, convenient, and was definitely a highlight of our trip. However, we were disappointed with the food, especially the buffet. Many of the items, particularly seafood and condiments, looked like they had been sitting out too long by the end of the day. It honestly looked unsafe to eat, and I’m confident we would’ve gotten sick if we had. Cancun itself was beautiful, and there were parts of the trip we enjoyed. But the food quality, lack of transparency, and overall staffing experience would definitely make me think twice before returning to this resort.

The resort was beautiful. Food at the buffet was always the same and difficult to reserve restaurants.

The Buffet was very good

We stood in line for 35 minutes to check-in. Then we booked an excursion and it was not as described. We only snorkeled for 20 minutes of the 7 hour day. The rest of the time on the catamaran was spent by the staff pressuring us to rent a golf cart for $75. The food at the resort was bad, service was slow. They have a buffet (Marche) that is very good, so you always have that to fall back on when you dine at one of the resort restaurants. At Armadillo (restaurant at resort) I ordered a baked potato and they brought me out 1/2 of a Yukon gold potato on a dessert plate. I thought it was a joke, but they were serious. I ordered a chicken taco and they brought me chicken tenders cut up and stuffed inside the taco. The “Nibbles” food place by the pool was very good. The food truck near the pool was delicious-yummy fish sticks. We ate at the steakhouse (Hunter). Absolutely delicious food, but our reservations were at 8:30pm and we didn’t get our food until 10:15pm. Not even the salad or appetizer came out before that. I kept thinking the food would get better at every restaurant we went to, but it got worse. At “Grazie” the Italian place-they ran out of mozzarella sticks. The restaurants are always running out of stuff. They did have good nightly entertainment by the pool. Very nice pool bar staff, nice room cleaning staff, and a wonderful server at the buffet-Orlando. Front desk doesn’t care. We told them about this and they did nothing. Don’t waste your $!

The property smells of sewage. The shower and sink drain & water smells of sewage, every restaurant and around the property smells of sewage.

Frustrating Dining Experience – Not Worth It Without Diamond Club It’s hard—or almost impossible—to book dinner at the restaurants if you’re not a Diamond Club member. We couldn’t make any reservations without walking around and asking for help. Even more frustrating, when we finally got into a restaurant, we saw lots of empty tables. It really seemed like they were being held for Diamond or Prime Club guests. I don’t see the point of spending this much money just to feel like you have to beg for dinner. This was our second stay at a Royalton resort—our first was in Jamaica, and this time in Cancun. Unfortunately, the experience this time left us very disappointed, especially when it came to dining. For the same price, there are other resorts with similar amenities and much better food access—or you can pay a bit more for a far better overall experience. If food matters to you, book somewhere else.

Everywhere on this property is a horrible sewage smell. The water and drains in the shower and sink smell. All around the property and in the restaurants smell of sewage. After you shower the smell is on your skin. We traveled with two other couples and this was the #1 complaint from us all.
