This was our 1st time staying at this hotel. It was conveniently close to freeways and old town SD. Also close to some fast food. The breakfast they provide is ok. Not many items to choose from and sometimes coffee wasn’t hot. They don’t let you take the food out of the room that is being served. Parking is not great either if you have a big vehicle. They do have additional parking around the corner but we didn’t utilize that on this visit. They charged for parking which I didn’t like compared to the other hotels that offer free parking. We were really close to the airport as well but the sound of the planes coming and going weren’t an issue. I don’t think I would stay here again due to the fact that they charge for parking and breakfast wasn’t up to par.

The parking was inconvenient. They also charge you $20 to park on the property or you can park on the street! Lots of homelessness around the property. No pool!! What?! If you pay for parking you have to take other transportation or you won't find a parking when you come back.

Ants all over the bathroom, staff said they didn’t have another room for us and they would see about sending someone over to fix it. they did nothing about it until the next day. parking was 21$ a day! (it was free for us because of the ants), but still ridiculous. very limited parking in front of the motel, so we had to use the underground lot. whenever someone flushed the toilet in another room, it sounded like a fire hydrant burst open. There was lots of mold under the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. The carpet in the room was pretty dirty, with some trash from the last guests under the bed and desk. breakfast was also quite limited. The bed was pretty comfy though, i’ll give them that. Overall pretty poor, but atleast it’s somewhat cheap.

Pros: location, clean, super comfy bed with lots of pillows. Italian restaurant across street. Little convenience store across street. Nice front office staff. Cons: No pool. No coffee pot in room. And for the price, surely a coffee pot could be an option

Decent hotel for the price . It was clean and comfortable . The only thing I didn’t like was the way parking was handled. They should of assigned a spot once you pay. I had to use uber because if I moved my car there wouldn’t be a place for me to park when I got back .

It seemed like the staff did not care and the customer service was not kind. We asked for extra towels and it was giving to us with an attitude. Also, when I booked this room it had a picture that it had a love sit sofa and when we arrived it was missing. We were told incorrect pictures of the room were used and only the “suites” had it. Shower tub was dirty.

We went into our room and is was not clean. The 2nd room there was mold in the wallpaper I have pictures, the tub was dirty, there were flying bugs in the room. It was disgusting! It is not a Hotel it is a MOTEL 1 The only good thing was location to our concert at Waterfront partk and Gas lamp.

I selected the property for it's location. I was cruising the next day and the location was close to my selected parking and the harbor. It turns out it was also close to a wonderful Italian restaurant located on the ground floor of the El Cortez directly across the street. The only real problem I had with the hotel/room was that the shower floor was covered in a black residue. It hadn't been cleaned properly. That made everything suspect for me. The beds were nice and the sheets seemed clean and fresh so this may have been the only problem.

the bathroom/shower was dirty, bed was creaking like no tommorow. the parking lot situation was a disaster, people were double parking and blocking peoples cars (mine). the manager or reception didn't care at all! it is what it is for a hundred dollars and change, but never staying here again

This is a basic motel. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. Also, there were a microwave and fridge in the room, which was helpful. However, the big drawback was that the WiFi did not work. I was unable to do my work and this was a major inconvenience. There is a continental breakfast included, which was helpful.

This has a Wyndham name but is a 1960 Motel 6 with limited improvements. It was a shock when I arrived (my company booked). The location is okay but the two blocks around it are shuttered and urine filled.

It's an old hotel, but clean. The shower/tub is the smallest I've ever seen but it worked. The air conditioner was great. The tv didn't get any of the main stations. I complained and they said they would send the maintenance man, but they did not. The free breakfast wasn't the best, but it was okay. The parking is very tight but they at least had it for a price.

I requested and was approved for check in at 1p and when we arrived past 210p the room wasn’t ready and I had to inform The front desk that I requested early check In. He did offer to refund the $25 . I also gave them the wrong card at Check in and had planned to fix that at check out. I was told I was already charged at check in which is fine, but in my experience I have been able to pay at check out and the front desk person made me feel that I didn’t know what I was talking about as to when go as far as to ask me if I’m from San Diego. Quite expensive for what it is but that is San Diego for you. One of the ladies on reception was very helpful in arranging for us to leave our luggage while we went to Tijuana.

I came for a business trip and did not have a pleasant time. The room did not lock from the outside and was notified - they asked if we wanted a refund to relocate to a different hotel as maintenance wasn't available nor was another room available. How does it make sense for me to find another room at night last minute? We left our belongings at the front desk to be safe while we had our dinner and when we came back, they asked if we wanted a discount for the stay since we'd be staying in a unlockable room. Note that it did lock from the inside but since we were on a business trip, we had to be in and out of the hotel, with all our computer and other belongings left alone unattended in an unlocked room. Their overall attitude did not help the situation either, they didn't seem willing to really help the situation. We were very disappointed with our stay to say the least.

No front desk agent until 8am. So if they forgot to put towels in your room, guess what? You will wait until 8! You can hear trash trucks, the upstairs neighbors walking around in their room. You can hear the next door neighbor every time they turned on their faucet or shower. Holes in the curtains.

The staff is excellent: cordial, friendly, helpful. The breakfast provided is much better than expected with lots of variety. This is a much better breakfast than that offered by other hotels I've stayed at. The kitchen staff was especially attentive. I stayed at this property during 2024 Comic-Con. My only complaint was the price: $550/night. Normally the price is around $120/night. All the hotels in the downtown San Diego area jack up their prices during Comic-Con, so I don't want to single out the Wyndham Baymont. High SD downtown hotel prices could well be the demise of continued San Diego venue for Comic-Con.

The room was in just okay condition. The couch had definitely not been cleaned and there were dents in the wall behind it. Also the door did not fully latch without putting your full weight behind closing the door. Also. The staff’s communication really didn’t exist. We had to go back several times to ask them about things that should have been stated during arrival. Breakfast was not much and the cold stuff was not held in anything to keep it cold which I found concerning.

Got in early and paid $25 extra for early check-in at 11am. Clean room and sheets. Shower had 2 heads and no door, just a curtain, so the bathroom floor gets wet when taking a shower. Free breakfast was good: eggs, ham, bagels, cereal, milk, juice, toast, jelly. Staff was very friendly. TV has basic cable with music channels.

The value is great, and I felt safe with the security on site as I don’t normally stay at hotels with exterior halls and room access. Staff friendly and kind, and handled my post midnight arrival with grace. My room and the amenities were clean, good variety at breakfast. My only suggestion would be a newer mattress as it was not the most comfortable but I was able to sleep.
