Excellent property with the friendliest staff. Very comfortable bed and extremely quiet room! You forget you’re in a big city. You can’t hear anything from your room. Room service was timely and delicious. The prices were very high and you can’t make coffee in your room or store any food. No fridge. Excellent restaurants and quick bites and coffee are close by and much more affordable. Central Park across the street was amazing! The Maybach was available and dropped us off in time square for lunch- total luxury:) Highly recommend The Plaza.

The Plaza used to be an iconic hotel in NY. Not anymore. Two of their restaurants closed since Covid. No swimming pool. Slow personnel service. Excellent location but it is to expensive for what you can get.

My wife and I have always thought of staying at the Plaza hotel and we finally did for her birthday. We checked in on the 29th of January with great customer service from Neil at the front door and with our concierge who brought our bags up but we couldn’t even get to our rooms for about 30minutes because the elevators were not working. For the next 3 days of our stay the staff never greeted us, looked at us with snarky faces and I had an encounter with an extremely rude staff who treated me as if I was dumb when both of our hotel key cards were not working. Super disappointed and pissed off with the encounter of the bald guy who I believe was a manager there! Take your money to St. Regis or literally any other 5 star hotel. Also the rooms are very old, dirty and run down as well. Not worth it.

There was a homeless man right in front of the property, not removed by staff. Valet service for $95 plus the price of my stay was less than acceptable. We could hardly pull in to valet the vehicle and our car was out front for almost 2 hours into our arrival.

Staff, room, service and spa were all top tier. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here. Everyone was so kind and professional. If we had one point of critical feedback, it would be that the Palm Court seems to have downsized their dinner menu since our last visit. We ultimately preferred the Champagne Bar for our special dinner, so if you're deciding between the two, definitely go with the Champagne Bar!! It was gorgeous and food was great.

Awesome anniversary trip to a "classic" ... hotel that's from 1909 will show some character but overall very clean and comfortable. Concierge and front desk a bit snooty and needs to remember who is the guest/client. Palm court a wonderful experience for tea and we liked the champagne bar for pre-dinner drinks. Workout facility top notch and housekeeping excellent.

Staff was wonderful here and it was clean and room was spacious. Elevators were small but fast and efficient. Shower door fell and broke when I opened but housekeeping and maintenance were quick to come fix. We had booked a suite 1000sq ft can remember I think Edwardian suite but we were disappointed with the view. Thought we booked a city view but definitely not what we received. Overall it was nice stay amd my kids had their own robes and slippers that was a super nice touch.

The broken glass on the suite floor was unique! As were the $3000 per night suite not being ready until nearly an hour late, the stains on the curtains and chair.. and the dust :-( we also had an unknown visitor on our terrace!!

First off, the room was not up to par with cleaniness. There were M&Ms under the tv stand, gum on the ottoman, dust on the side tables which we had to wipe down, weird red liquid stains on the wall behind the bed and carpet in front of the mirror. Secondly, over the staff was nice except for in tbe Champagne Room. Host and wait staff were rude, we waited more than 15 mins for just coffee, when I asked the host if this was acceptable wait time he said our waiter was busy with another group. Fyi that other group came 10 minutes after us. We asked another server for help and he dismissed us abruptly saying our server was coming. The host was not very apologetic when I got upset about the wait time. There were 3 or 4 other parties besides us, it was not even busy nor a busy time at 9pm. Overall, I always wanted to stay at the plaza, but it just was not up to expectation in comparison to other hotels.

Comfortable. Clean , look under the bed and you’ll probably find a ball of dust, forgotten socks or name tags at a conference under the television console. I didn’t complain. It all depends on the background of the maid. Some are not very detailed but they try.

The absolute best hotel I have stayed at! They made everything we asked for happen and even surprised us with a child sized robe for our son! The best! Gorgeous, impeccably clean, the most respectful and best service there is! And the hotel smells soooooo good!

Having arrived at the Plaza Hotel with high expectations due to its acclaimed reputation, I regretfully report a deeply disappointing experience. Property is in an excellent spot to enjoy Central Park and 5th Ave shopping. Service was very good. Unfortunately, during our stay the exterior had scaffolding hiding the beauty of the architecture and the adjacent fountain was closed and walled off for service. Our room was very spacious (especially for NYC) but the carpeting and chair upholstery were both stained in several areas. Common areas feel like they could use more light. Overall, the Plaza could benefit from updating the interior in general. We had a pleasant stay but feel like this place might be coasting on its reputation from years past.

June checked us in for The Plaza and was excellent. He was friendly and offered us a room upgrade. We ended up moving to a family suite with 2 queen beds, a sitting area and bar area with a sink and microwave. The room was spectacular. Doormen were also super friendly and bellman was helpful too. The service here is exceptional and the rooms and common areas are beautiful. Highly recommend the hotel for a luxury experience.

I had an awful overall experience. I spent a night to “rest” from a previous long flight and that was the least I could do. I put the privacy tag on my door, and housekeeping literally opened my door while I was sleeping, plus my room (1041) was located just next to the elevators and the noise was so disturbing. I am extremely disappointed and looking forward to get my money back.

The Plaza is beautiful and well located. The detracting fact is that the shower leaks out onto the bathroom floor, there are only two hooks in the bathroom and those were taken up by robes. There are no towel racks. There are few shelves or other places to put toiletries. There are very few drawers for clothes. All there inadequacies make for an awkward stay.

The biggest complaint I have is the doormen out front. They would only let guests through the door, which is understandable. However, when I identified myself as a guest that should have been enough, but some of the doormen would ask for a room key to prove my guest status which was over the top and made me feel unwelcome like they didn’t believe that I was a guest. This could have been handled much better. I expected more from a hotel with this reputation.

My wife and I have always thought of staying at the Plaza hotel and we finally did for her birthday. We checked in on the 29th of January with great customer service from Neil at the front door and with our concierge who brought our bags up but we couldn’t even get to our rooms for about 30minutes because the elevators were not working. For the next 3 days of our stay the staff never greeted us, looked at us with snarky faces and I had an encounter with an extremely rude staff who treated me as if I was dumb when both of our hotel key cards were not working. Super disappointed and pissed off with the encounter of the bald guy who I believe was a manager there! Take your money to St. Regis or literally any other 5 star hotel. Also the rooms are very old, dirty and run down as well. Not worth it.

June checked us in for The Plaza and was excellent. He was friendly and offered us a room upgrade. We ended up moving to a family suite with 2 queen beds, a sitting area and bar area with a sink and microwave. The room was spectacular. Doormen were also super friendly and bellman was helpful too. The service here is exceptional and the rooms and common areas are beautiful. Highly recommend the hotel for a luxury experience.

My wife and I had a great time at the Plaza. The only thing we noticed that would make a big difference is the bedding (sheets & covers) and mattress should be better quality, softer and much less crinkly. The staff was great, called you by last name and was attentive to our needs/wants.

I travel to NYC frequently for work and pleasure. I have never stayed at the plaza so decided to give it a try. Upon arrival I struggled to get my luggage up the stairs after my driver dropped me off with the bellman just standing there and not helping. When I got to the front desk to check in I jokingly asked if the Eloise Room was available, she answered "we are fully committed". So programmed. Not really what I asked. but she did tell me that my room was very quiet. I knew that was bad news though. Got to the room to have a view of other rooms across the courtyard. The room was very dated, didn't feel clean, the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets smelled. I had my daughter and granddaughter meet me for lunch and were finally seated after being heavily interrogated if I was staying at the hotel. The food was bad and service was worse. Went to Palm court that evening for a cocktail, same bad service. Upon leaving the next day went down to get a coffee to take up to room thinking with the high prices they would at least have complimentary coffee. Nope $13.00 for a cold coffee in a paper cup. Had high hopes and could not have been more disappointed. I will never be back to the Plaza and as a matter of fact lost any respect for the Fairmont brand.

I had $50 credit for the food and beverages for each day. After I checked out the room I asked the front desk for the credits already taken care on the final bill that I received. A staff mentioned it was automatically deducted so the total amount showed was correct on the bill. I spent extra time on the review the receipt at the coffee shop but it did not applied the credit that I should received for the orders from the beverages. I had to return to the front desk and talked to the hotel manager. She simply mentioned it was mistake and gave the credit amount to the charges made. I spent more than hour to figure the issues. Overall this was the BEST hotel we have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived from the airport until we left 7 days later back to the airport. Door staff were attentive, available, and very helpful with rides not associated with the hotel. We cannot say enough about the Concierge staff - EVERY request we made they were there with an answer, recommendation, or just plainly made reservations for us. Best Concierge ever - especially Bill and Juliet! Our 2 room suite was an upgrade which we needed for 7 days in this luxury hotel.The one issue we had was taken care of immediately which was the mattress - way too soft for our taste - but was changed out almost the same hour we requested it. Thank you Plaza Hotel staff for making this the best 70th birthday celebration we could ask for. We will stay again.

There were no outlets in the bathroom. The outlets by the desk were not working. There was a drip sound of some sort that started around 1 am and never stopped. I have a 1 syllable 4 letter last night and yet most employees called me by a different name. I have the easiest name, how do you mess that up? Room service forgot to bring up ketchup with our fries and by the time we got it, the fries were cold. Food was not tasty. Overall, what was expected to have been a luxurious stay was nothing but disappointment. Took over 30 minutes to have a bellman come up to our room. Location was great but would not return as the value just wasn’t there.

If we had one point of critical feedback, it would be that the Palm Court seems to have downsized their dinner menu since our last visit. We ultimately preferred the Champagne Bar for our special dinner, so if you're deciding between the two, definitely go with the Champagne Bar!! It was gorgeous and food was great.

I've been coming to the Plaza for nearly 30 years. I used to live in NYC. I've been staying at a hotel for many years. The staff is incredible! The rooms are lovely! My only complaint is that each year there are fewer and fewer vegetarian options. They took the Impossible Burger and the Tofu sandwich off the menu. It is nothing to have a few frozen Impossible or Beyond Burgers in the freezer. Outside of breakfast and afternoon tea, there isn't much else. Forget about it if you're dining in the bar area. We travelled with our folks this time, who didn't feel like going out to dinner. We ended up having to order through Uber Eats due to the limited options. I've stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. This hotel has the fewest options of all of them. But I still enjoy staying there. It's a great location.

An amazing hotel, one of the top 5 I’ve been too. Smells like flowers throughout the hotel and everyone was friendly. Bed with comfortable and the shower had plenty of pressure. Quite in the room except some minor honking or sirens every once’s in a while, but it’s New York, so not a big deal. I would stay here again, only thing I was not a fan of was the in room dining, everything was over cooked, but there are a lot of places to eat around so wasn’t a deal breaker.
