Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Maple Grove

Ended up having to leave. Unbelievable unprofessional staff at check-in. Arrangement had been in place for us to pay at the property and for a late arrival the evening of check-in, approved that day. Arrived to check in and the room with my name attached had someone else in it with a $200 hold as well. Inquired about getting my name removed with someone else had checked in and was not me- staff said she must not have verified their ID and management would have to approve my name being removed, the staff member briefly left the counter to check the room and refused to give us a different room. She said you won’t be happy here you have to leave. She also did not remove my name from the room when I called the hotels corporate office I was still checked in the next morning. I demanded my name be removed from the room and the $200 hold removed under my name when I wasn’t the person utilizing the room. She said she needed management approval. We had to find another hotel at 11PM that night. Scary to say the least! uncertain we would be able to find another property with an open room so late. Another 10 minute drive to a different chain we got lucky. I filed a police report in case our money is not refunded. I would like to utilize the insurance I paid for, due to the inconvenience and for them not properly checking identification upon check in allowing some random person to be in a room with my name and credit card attached.

Great place to stay, large clean rooms and with microwave, refrigerator with freezing compartment, good breakfast

We were able to get into our room but the blanket for our bed was still be laundered and they brought it once it was out of the dryer. Nice to know the bedding was clean

Great staf, well priced room and comfy bed. However, hot tub Jets didn’t work, even though timer was functioning. The hotel used to have a bar with a light menu, this is now gone. Too bad we enjoyed it on previous visits. Overall we still like this hotel and great location, too bad it seems to be cutting back.
