Very nice accommodation in the north river area of Chicago. Overall atmosphere of nearby area and streets is so comfortable; safe for a traveler. Additional payment for valet-parking and also state (or city?) tax for a traveler is required - not nominal amount; but they are all given, because we stay in very central (and safe) area of Chicago. One more, we came back from the United Center - home of Chicago Bulls around 22:00 pm by Chicago subway (blue and red) without any fear, scary and danger.

Valet service was underwhelming, they were either not around or off the clock often and they ended up parking my car on the street outside overnight for our 7AM departure. For $100 extra a night, the valet was really not worth it. I recommend staying here if you do not bring a car. The rooms are clean and spacious, the carpets and furnishings are modern and have recently been replaced in some areas. The hallways are a bit loud but otherwise the rooms were quiet. We were upgraded to a larger suite, but it was still quite small (to be expected downtown).

A great hotel in a great location. The museum concept sets it apart. Rooms are very spacious for a center city hotel. The independent restaurant in the hotel does a great job with their food. Happy hour is a great deal & the oysters were excellent. Very fresh every day. Don’t frown at the daily resort fee. It gets you 21% off all food at the restaurant your entire stay & entrance to the exhibits.

The employees seem to be working very hard. Our maid(s) was fantastic-better than I’ve had almost anywhere.The restaurant *mood was very low. Whoever managed for breakfast and served us were very efficient indeed. Fitness area was very well kept. Front door was terribly awkward. They absolutely need a doorman at all times (which we usually did not have -but when we did, he was wonderful). Rooms were tight but clean. Siren sounds were almost constant. Turning on the (good) system fan was very helpful. Elevators were very small and very quick, probably need a little more upkeep. Lobby was festive and very nice; lobby restrooms were generally very clean.

I think this is a refurbished hotel. The front is clean. They have unique art in the foyer and an upstairs gallery. There are two elevators….seem pretty fast and we don’t wait. The floor we were on was a bit tired. Our room was quite nice. Very hot shower. Nice lighting. Bed is medium firmness which was a snitch soft for my wife (but how do you know!?!). Fitness centre has a lot of equipment for the space. Nice mix of treadmills, bikes, and strength. The surrounding area has nice shops and nice restaurants nearby. There is a fair amount of street noise at night (sirens from ambulances). For the price point quite reasonable.

Not bad, not good. The beds were soft and lumpy, pillows had no support. Valet was a pain. Luggage carts were old and difficult to maneuver. The restaurant and bar were excellent, the art is super cool. The bathrooms were nice, the rooms were decent sized. Staff was helpful, but busy and oftentimes seemed overwhelmed.

Dirty tabletops in room, trash under furniture, walls with dings & chipped paint, the “closet” was an old makeshift cabinet, robes looked like they were from GoodWill, previous guests dirty underwear in bathroom! Hotel was extremely clean and well kept. Front desk staff at check in were great. The restaurant had fabulous food, but I didn’t get the 15 percent discount I was told I would get as a guest. The room was very clean. The water pressure is awesome. I’ve stayed when it was 21C and enjoyed my stay as Hotel 55. Bonus that Trader Joe’s is across the street and Eataly just a block away.

Staff and location was great. Unfortunately, the room had a terrible stench, assuming sewage-related, coming from the bathroom. And, when entering the room foe the first time, we could tell it had not been serviced in a while as the floor lenght mirror was caked in dust.

It was not clean and trash was in the ice container.. and the bottom of the curtains were dirty and rip.. I could here people in the hallway at 2 am .. and I would hardly recommend not staying on the 10 floor .. I would go back to try another floor .. ok overall it was beautiful

The bathroom was dirty (toilet seat was visibly not cleaned) and the carpet was stained. The beds were very firm and uncomfortable-overall the location is good but the hotel is not clean and could really use some attention.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff. Loved the decor and art exhibits. Very convenient to Rush St and Michigan Ave shops and restaurants. Comfortable beds and pillows, got three great nights of sleep. The 21C Museum Hotel does not have the awful motion sensor thermostats that many of the larger chains (Marriott) are now using. This allows the guest to continuously run the HVAC fan and have good white noise while sleeping. I would definitely stay at the 21C again, and will look to stay at their locations in other cities. Thank you 21C for a great stay.

It was good. Bed was comfortable and I liked the sitting area in the room with separate tv. Problem is the AC was super loud and kept us up and the elevator was out the whole time so only one was working. We had to take the stairs 9 flights a couple times.

As a professional traveler, as well have stayed at other 21C hotels. once you leave the bright lobby area, the elevators are tiny, the hallways are dark. For a Deluxe room, the amount of space in the bathroom was very disappointing. Lastly, try and find an outlet in visible sight to charge a phone, laptop--not located in good spots.

Pros: Front desk (and restaurant) staff was super friendly and accommodating. King room was spacious enough with a little seating area Property was clean and close to Michigan Ave and the river Cons: If you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the hotel for you. I can typically sleep through anything but had a tough time since you could hear ALL the street noise. The room really never cooled down even with the AC cranking on a mid-March day.

It's clear this hotel was in the process of changing hands when we stayed there. There were issues with the in-room TV and phone and limited outlets (and none next to the beds). The air filter appeared visibly dirty in both the bathroom and bedroom. The rooms were much smaller than appeared online. We stayed on the 4th floor and the street noise was very loud. Heard from a friend on the 11th floor that it was also loud up there, so may be unavoidable. I hope the new owners clean things up a bit! Otherwise, the staff were very nice and friendly.

Great hotel for tourists but not ideal for business travelers. No desk in room and no outlets by the bed! The weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. I had to plug my phone in across the room and hope I woke up to my alarm. Large, comfortable room but would love some outlets!

The experience was perfectly good EXCEPT- The valet service employs at least one criminal. Two credit cards that were left in the car had fraudulent charges within a day of staying at the hotel. They didn't steal the card, but they obtained all the info they needed to use the account. IDK what else the criminal(s) might do, but do not leave anything valuable for them.

Room was clean and dwell appointed. Staff were courteous and very helpful. They allowed us to check out late without hesitation. Hotel had just changed owners and that did not affect our experience. The art has been removed, but that’s fine. It’s hard to see art when you’re asleep.

I have stayed here before and I love the location and the art vibe. This visit, the room was fine at first but it became apparent that the AC wasn't working. The thing we found distressing was the attitude of the people on the front desk as if not having AC and seeing someone's dirty towel was acceptable. They finally agreed to make a minimal adjustment to the bill. This is not a cheap hotel and the laissez faire attitude of the staff really put us off. I would not have expected any compensation had the staff expressed any genuine concern for the situation. The staff who cleaned the room we ended up in were very pleasant and did a good job. Having said all this, the hotel is in a great location and the art work is wonderful. I don't think I would stay there again but I would certainly visit if only to see the art.

Although they sent email saying they would honor the reservation when we arrived at 6:00 PM they had difficulty finding a reservation and did not have a room ready. They did not offer the same price as reserved blaming everything on the systems not being integrated as of yet. We were eventually offered an upgrade.

I typically book exclusively with Hilton. After our brief stay, I remember why. This hotel is aesthetically pleasing and in a nice location downtown Chicago. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Francisco. The property was immaculate. It was a great location for walking everywhere. We never had to wait long for an elevator. The room was a good size, the beds were very comfortable and we even had pillow options, i.e. soft and hard pillows. I would highly recommend this hotel

We have stayed at other 21C properties and had exceptional service and experiences, until this time. We seemed to have been an interruption to the front desk staff at check in instead of welcomed guests. After reaching our room with a nonfunctional refrigerator and not stocked mini-bar, we were informed it was due COVID from a few years ago. We had a great stay at the 21c Museum Hotel. The location is amazing—just one block off the Magnificent Mile, with Trader Joe’s and Marshall’s right across the street, and only two blocks from the Starbucks Reserve. Super convenient to multiple bus lines and the red subway line, all within a short walk. Our room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant or the gym. No complaints at all—would happily stay here again!

Great location, but just off Miracle Mile. Great art. Wonderful room layout. Best gym at a hotel I can remember. Helpful staff. Finally ate breakfast at Lure the last day and it was great - and you get a 21 percent discount there if you're a hotel guest. This was family vacation and our 20 and 18 year old had their own room on the same floor and that couldn't have worked out better.

I really enjoyed staying here. It was clean and well maintained with helpful staff. The gym looked great but I didn’t pack my workout gear. The connected Lure restaurant was excellent to experience. River North is a wonderful location and a very short walk to great shops and restaurants.

The room was very clean. The water pressure is awesome. I’ve stayed when it was 21C and enjoyed my stay as Hotel 55. Bonus that Trader Joe’s is across the street and Eataly just a block away.

I liked the museum, that was unique. We liked the restaurant downstairs, especially the happy hour specials. The room was nice but the restroom was equipped with a shower curtain, which sucks. Also, the shower and bath tub fills up while showering. Also, the body wash was empty. It’s downtown area so it has good surrounding activities. Oh, also, the screen mirroring on the tv didn’t work. Also, valet charged me $80 even though I had to walk to get my car once I needed it.

Overall room was clean but the remote control was filthy. They really need something to cover it. They gave me a room that was already assigned to someone else.
