This was a last minute booking to see a gig at the ovo hydro. They overcharged at £162 for a night. The hotel was very run down, bald dirty carpets, curtain pole falling off wall, bed uncomfortable and smelly. En suite was dated and unclean. A 2 star rating is very over exaggerated.

Stayed 1 night

I spoke to a member of staff about the issue and was informed that it would qualify for a refund I am awaiting same. Just learned from expedia that the property will not refund me for suspected bed bugs in room. They were in all three beds and crawling on the walls.Unfortunately we did not discover them until after 5am (the following morning of our 1 night stay). I showed this immediately to the staff who was at reception- they saw them on the wall and they said “we do no usually get bed bugs in this room”. They did suggested that if I contacted the people I booked with I should be able to get a refund. I would really like some advice on this matter- the hotel is saying that they would only honor the original cancellation policy and apparently my room was non - refundable. Should this apply if there is an issue with your room/ stay?
