We are returning guests of Desire Riviera Maya and this was our first time returning after new section Eden has been opened. We were assigned a spectacular spacious room with a pool that we enjoyed each night for our private experience. The new lobby bar area has amazing acoustics so music sounds incredible and that elevated the whole evening entertainment experience. The staff was incredible as usual: Manuel and Africa constantly running around the pool checking on each and everyone to ensure no one is missing anything. The bartenders Jonathan, Ivan, Luis and Jorge (makes AMAZING Old Fashions) made sure my tequila shots were chilled and pineapple slices freshly cut! Guadalupe, Elena Jasmin and Eunese always greeting with heartwarming smiles and welcoming. Managers Alessio, Miguel, Daniel, Andres are seen on property throughout the day ensuring everything is running smooth. The original side of the resort is now more quiet but we loved going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Special THANK YOU to Ana from Premier and Marta from guest services! Vacation would not be the same without “Welcome Home” and beautiful greeting smile of Ana. She always greets us with our favorite drinks and Marta ensured we get our VIP room upgrade. Thank you, ladies! Desire has been our “home away from home” for past thirty adults only trips and we are looking forward to many more in the future, as everyone working there are not just staff, they are FAMILY! Miss you all already! ❤️

The new Eden area is really nice. The nightly shows are awesome. Theme nights are really fun. Our room was very dated and in need of a make over. Food was decent, but nothing special. The beach is a 0/10. Completely full of smelly seaweed, super narrow, water was also full of seaweed, such a shame.

Excelente ambiente en todos los espectáculos nocturnos y actividades diurnas en la alberca de la sección nueva. Tienen un equipo de animación verdaderamente genial que participan en todas estas actividades. Divertidos, amables y sumamente accesibles. Todo el personal desde los restaurantes, bares, cafeterías, servicios de apoyo, camaristas, etc. sumamente amables y sobretodo muy respetuosos, buscando siempre satisfacer plenamente los deseos de los huéspedes. Nos tocó prácticamente el 100 % de turistas norteamericanos, sin problema para relacionarnos y convivir. Sobretodo mucho respeto. Fueron unas excelentes vacaciones que por supuesto estamos esperando repetir lo antes posible.

Although it cannot be helped, it's unfortunate that we cannot walk very far along the beach. At this time, the beach is rapidly decreasing. Added to the fact that we can't walk down the road due to possible alligator encounters, it's difficult to walk anywhere during a visit.

Desire is lucky that they don\'t compete with another brand or resort that offers the same "lifestyle" vibe, Beach area is full of seaweed and trash, I didn\'t see anybody cleaning/removing the seaweed during my 4 days stay there, main pool didn\'t look that clean to me, after a 3rd day of my stay I did see a someone cleaning the pool properly when they should do it daily. main Jacuzzi area is kind of nasty, you will see couple interacting with each other and not cleaning themselves before they get into the main jacuzzi ( roof play area) Staff was incredible and food was ok.

The attention to detail at the desire properties is immaculate. The staff is sweet, friendly, and professional. They really go out of their way to help you in every way they can. The spa services are wonderful and the food was excellent. At this particular location, the rooms were a bit small, but they were still very nicely appointed. The desire pearl has rooms that are a bit larger. That said, we didn’t spend all that much time in the room so we were just fine.

Our suite in the new Eden area was wonderful! All the new areas of the resort are excellent and a welcome addition! The resort needed some renovation, and the new areas are spacious and decorated well. The jacuzzi area is nice and big, MUCH better than the old space. Overall the resort is clean, and well maintained. The staff does a great job- from the service at bars and restaurants, the playmakers, the housekeepers, butlers, and front desk staff- good people and well trained. We appreciated the action during the day at the pool and at the bar and disco at night, but the best thing is- you can go to your room and it is quiet:) We also really appreciate the quick check-in and check-out AND not being bombarded (at all) about buying a membership. Well done DRM, we'll be back again!

Great hotel that lives up to its reputation in this niche market. The facilities are great and the fact that there is now a lively pool and a quiet pool is a brilliant addition. The rooms are well looked after. Some people say they are tired, but this is a little harsh. They have everything you need and the main thing is the bed is comfortable! The thing that makes this place really great though are the staff. They are friendly, helpful, welcoming, and can’t do enough to make this unique experience as special as possible. Elizabeth at the coffee bar was just one example of the great service delivered.

Had another fantastic stay at Desire Riviera Maya for our 4th trip. Love the rooms, the facilities, the open accepting environment, and the staff. Callouts to Elizabeth at the front desk, Cesar at the bell stand, Eduardo the server, Sharon & Yazmin the hosts, and Jesus the bartender for helping make it a perfect trip.

The staff are special people. They went above and beyond to make sure that you felt at home. There was construction going on and we lost power and hot water a few times. However, the staff were wonderful in up for it. Some staff have been there over 15 years and they remember your name and what your likes/dislikes are. That is special for us.

The whole resort is amazing as soon as you enter the front lobby. The vibe and outmosphere is fantastic.They have theme nights, and the disco is lit with their music every night. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The staff are amazing, that's why we keep coming back. The housekeepers, battenders, servers, and gardeners always have a smile on their faces. We always get relaxing massages at the spa. We have great experiences every time we come. We are booked for November. We can't compare the resort anywhere else. The guests and staff are friendly.

Resort is great, but the service is especially outstanding. All the staff are genuinely friendly and truly want to go out of their way to help. Rooms could use updating, but are clean and comfortable. We booked a garden room, but could see the ocean - score! Wifi was solid. Food was great in the buffet, but we kept missing making a reservation (only 1-3 pm) at the extra special restaurant. There was always at least one vegetarian option. Especially enjoyed the Cinquo de Mayo dinner by the pool. Drinks were usually quite good, but we did have a couple duds here and there. Evening show was always entertaining. Every night has a party theme, and everyone participates, so pack accordingly! The resort shop is small but jam packed with a good selection of fun items. They also offer a couples photo shoot - results are remarkable. If you want a special couples experience, this is the perfect place for it.

Staff was nice and attentive. Room that we got was in the old building and it was not good. We have to changed the room and it was smelled from the shower. Restaurant and amenities was focus on members. Food in restaurants was charge if you want to get steak. Entertainment activities was good.
