This place could be great if they just employed cleaners who pay attention to detail. The location is fantastic, the price is cheap, but the place is awfully dirty. I had to clean things myself. The shower barely worked (the shower head blocked by untreated limescale), the shower door was broken and could not be closed. The cubicle was disgustingly dirty (black and pink). It just needed some good scrubbing with bleach. The bedding and towels appeared to be freshly laundered and clean. The skirting boards were covered in thick dust, strange spillages and marks were decorating the walls and doors. The battered metal bins need throwing out - could just replace them with cheap plastic ones. We had to cover a headboard, it was awful, they’d be better off removing them. Complementary self-serve breakfast (tea, coffee, biscuit, toast and cereal) is available, but you need to ask about it. You do need to be brave to use the shared kitchen and bleach/wash anything you use first. We ended up getting porridge pots and only used their kettle. If you’d like a hot drink, bring your own mug - there was only 1 available and no one at reception to ask. Our experience was based on booking 2 rooms, 4 people staying.

On the whole. Chose this place as it was closed to London arena and had its own private bathroom. On arrival took over five minutes in blistering heat and a long journey from Newcastle on the train, then tube to get an answer at the door, two bells one rang out the other you couldn't here, knocking on actual door didn't get an answer either. When eventually opened , greater said they hadn't heard anything. Entry to room allocated via loads of steps (stairway). Was shown to back yard and told up the fire escape along passage turn right your room straight ahead. Room was ok, 3 fans, were needed 36 degrees outside. Kitchen ok, appliances shabby and old. Last tennant left their food stuff still in cupboards.

I only stayed one night. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room was tidy but not as clean as I'd expect. There were toenails on the carpet which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The shower took some time to get hot and then stayed warm for a few minutes before going cold. There were fans in the room which were appreciated but generally the room smelt (of damp?). For the second night I was in the area, I stayed in another hotel down the road. The room there was smaller but it was cleaner and also cheaper

Extremely helpful staff, incredibly nice room considering the price, free towels and soap for our own use as well as the kitchen/lounge were both nice touches. Very much enjoyed our stay and will likely come back when travelling to Stratford in the future.
