The B&B was very conveniently situated a short walk from the city centre. Parking with an EV charging point, useful for us to top up our car. Staff were all very friendly and courteous, highly recommended.

Ideal location and friendly staff. Unfortunately couldn't get access to the EV charging point as another vehicle (non EV) was parked in the space for the nights I was there. Breakfast only served from 8am so couldn't make use of that. No good served of an evening despite advertising a 'restaurant & bar'. No shower gel or shampoo provided in the room. Not as advertised.

10 min walk to centre of York so great location.Breakfast was very good and service great as well. Nice friendly staff. We stayed in room 23 which was situated in another building by the main hotel. Considering this was a double deluxe room there was a few negatives. The room looked a little tired and boring, dirty walls, broken shelf in the wardrobe. Grout missing from floor tiles in bathroom. The shower was probably the worst we've had we had to run around to get wet,but was big. The kettle provided had to be boiled on the floor as the lead was not big enough to use on the table provided. Parking was £10 a night nowhere else to park as on the road is all permit only parking. Plenty of spaces though. Had to pay an extra £10 to park until 1800 on the day of departure. To be honest we have stayed in much better hotels in York so will probably not return

We had a 1-night stay, for 4 - 2 adults and 2 children in 1 room, 1 double and 2 single beds. The room was tidy and quiet but average, very reasonably priced compared to alternatives in York on a Friday night, but not great value otherwise. The mattress and pillows were all uncomfortable and not representative of the asking price, none of us slept too well. The bathroom had a few leftover hairs that were there before us. In the early hours of the morning there was a power outage which affected the B+B and others in the street. Unfortunately this hindered our getting ready in the morning, but no fault of the hotel, the staff did all they could to help out. The cooked breakfast was very good, served promptly, with good hot drinks options. The cold continental breakfast didn't have any pastries or fruit options, however we did leave satisfied. Parking is chargeable but excellent, had the opportunity to leave the car early before check in which was great. The B+B is a very close walk to the centre. The staff were a top selling point for our stay; everyone we interacted with be it at check-in, ordering a couple of drinks at the bar in the evening, breakfast, and check-out were happy, professional, and couldn't do enough to help us out, a real credit to the B+B!

Lovely hotel in a nice quiet area 10 mins walk outside York centre. Nice comfortable room with a kettle, tea and coffee which was re-filled daily. The hall and stairs were a bit run-down, and a creaky door leading into the hallway.I was a bit nervous about disturbing the other guests when opening and closing it. Breakfast was very good with a small buffet of cerials and hot breakfast to order. The hot breakfast came very fast and was delicious. Some days I had to leave before 8, and could unfortunately not have breakfast, so it’s a bit of a shame that it only starts at 8 in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic property. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating to guests needs. I travel around the UK and rarely find a hotel I would return to with family but this little gem has been added to my list. I will definitely be back.

Confused as room didn’t match the images on their website. Duty manager informed and he agreed and apologised. For a delux room would have expected more luxuries, the only benefit seemed to be size of room and en-suite. Breakfast options ok, but as for advertising continental options, only saw yoghurt

Everything was wonderful, the unit were clean and nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the mattress. The mattress only had a thin layer over the springs. I had a hard time sleeping because of this. Other than that the place was great

It is near to city centre in a quiet road. Large Victorian/Edwardian house. However the bedrooms are incredibly small, and dividing walls are not soundproof. I am a size 16 and 5\'6" tall but cd barely fit into the shower. I didnt bother. Good fryup for breakfast but no fruit offered, no meusli, no plain yoghurt

The building is really nice and well maintained. Much to be desired in our room. Strong sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom and definitely needs a new mattress. Springs coming through that really made sleep difficult. Joseph the desk attendant was excellent and very helpful.

Nice enough place and bed was very comfy. Shame they were playing loud cheesy music in the bar untill 11pm on a random Wednesday night. Not great after a long day travelling and wanting an early night. 8am was the earliest i could get breakfast which made it very tight for my 9am meeting

We booked the b&b for a family weekend in York and had a lovely time in the city. We picked this b&b because it advertised a games room so the kiddies would be happy in the evening, when we arrived we found there was no games room but were offered a pack of cards! We started a card game with the kiddies and the man on duty asked us to be quieter. The parking situation was disgraceful, we had to £10 a day and the second day we had the dungeon booked so needed 1 hour parking and they charged the full £10. The room itself was nice and a gluten free breakfast was a nice surprise bit over all our host was moody, parking was expensive, the non existent games room and an expensive bar we weren’t expecting

We had a very nice stay - the hotel was very clean and comfortable. And in a very good part of the city to access the core area with all the attractions. Breakfast was very good also. So i would heartily recommend this.

10 min walk to centre of York so great location.Breakfast was very good and service great as well. Nice friendly staff. We stayed in room 23 which was situated in another building by the main hotel. Considering this was a double deluxe room there was a few negatives. The room looked a little tired and boring, dirty walls, broken shelf in the wardrobe. Grout missing from floor tiles in bathroom. The shower was probably the worst we've had we had to run around to get wet,but was big. The kettle provided had to be boiled on the floor as the lead was not big enough to use on the table provided. Parking was £10 a night nowhere else to park as on the road is all permit only parking. Plenty of spaces though. Had to pay an extra £10 to park until 1800 on the day of departure. To be honest we have stayed in much better hotels in York so will probably not return

Lovely hotel in a nice quiet area 10 mins walk outside York centre. Nice comfortable room with a kettle, tea and coffee which was re-filled daily. The hall and stairs were a bit run-down, and a creaky door leading into the hallway.I was a bit nervous about disturbing the other guests when opening and closing it. Breakfast was very good with a small buffet of cerials and hot breakfast to order. The hot breakfast came very fast and was delicious. Some days I had to leave before 8, and could unfortunately not have breakfast, so it’s a bit of a shame that it only starts at 8 in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

It is near to city centre in a quiet road. Large Victorian/Edwardian house. However the bedrooms are incredibly small, and dividing walls are not soundproof. I am a size 16 and 5\'6" tall but cd barely fit into the shower. I didnt bother. Good fryup for breakfast but no fruit offered, no meusli, no plain yoghurt

This place are definitely charming and very clean, and the staff is super friendly and patient. If you arrive before check in, you can leave your luggage and take a walk around the centre. The room had a water heater and you can make yourself tea or coffee (which I love because not all hotels offer it). The breakfast is amazing as they offer a Yorkshire experience, and it's nice because it’s different from the typical hotel breakfasts. There is a bar that offers drinks during the evening and some food, so if you don't want to go out, it's a good option. We would stay here again without a doubt.

The whole experience of coming to York and staying at the B and B from start to finish was excellent nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was vey good. It was good to have a vegan cooked breakfast on the menu for my friend as we always seem to struggle when we stay in places. Would certainly come back and stay if we go to York again..
