Hotel Indigo York by IHG

A wonderful hotel! Stayed before and this time introduced a friend. The hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing, theatre visits and for restaurants. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is clean and well appointed. Also good to observe maintenance being carried out. It did not detract from the visit. Breakfast was good although not as hot as it could have been but I appreciate that can happen with a buffet. Would highly recommend this hotel and in fact my friend said she would use next time she is in York.

The hotel itself was as per the photos although we (5 friends in separate rooms) were not prepared for the noise. There were hen parties staying so late night noise and my room although I asked for a quiet location on booking months ago was at the front of the hotel and late night revellers and noisy passers by did not afford me a good sleep for the 2 nights we were there. We booked this hotel as it's not in the busy part of York so it's disappointing. I didn't use the bar or breakfast because it was so busy. I've stayed at Indigo in Liverpool previously and had no problems, also last time my credit card details were taken but no charge activated. This time its showing as pending online and I'm struggling to get to speak to someone to get it removed, which I was told it would be on leaving if not used. Its a shame as this stay will be remembered for the wrong reasons
