We had a wonderful view of the Chicago River and enjoyed the easy access to the Riverwalk. My only complaint was $70/day for parking and a $30/day resort fee that i didnt know about until after we completed our booking through Expedia.

Bell Hops were very helpful. AC worked very well. Not enough towels. Toilet didn’t flush even after we asked someone to fix it. Elevators were a disaster. Took over 10 minutes to get up and down every time tried to go up and down. Once thought we might be late for a dinner reservation.

I have stayed two previous times at this property. I chose again based on location, convenience and services offered. The only option for dining, snacks, cocktails and coffee was Shula's steakhouse and the cafe which had extremely limited hours. The Chi Town bar was closed the entire time we were there. For drinks prior to dinner, Shula's was our only in hotel option. The restaurant and bar area were both dirty and uninviting. I don't mind paying for good for or wine, but the conditions and quality do not come close to what you pay. After a day of exposed to extreme cold, there was not one option for an afternoon coffee or hot tea as the cafe closed late morning. I fully understand that staffing can be an issue. However, the other hotels close by we visited had plenty of options for what the Sheraton was lacking. It is rare that I leave a review of this kind as I'm aware of situations beyond the control of staff, but for the type and size of this hotel, I was shocked at the limited offerings. On a good note, the staff were extremely friendly and apologetic for these limitations. Customer service was the only thing the Sheraton got right this trip.

I decided i'd start with the main issue currently with the hotel. And i saw this first hand. The Sheraton is currently charging $30 extra as an "entertainment fee". Mind you it gives access to two museums (Not the good ones), $15 food credit, and a couple other things. This would be a good deal if there wasn't already so much to do in Chicago. I tried using the credit but items, as expected, were $20+. My initially arrival the front desk was busy, labor day weekend, i get it. The girl at the front desk said she couldn't find my reservation, i did book through hotels.com but i never have this issue. She struggled for a good 10m insisting i was wrong. I assured her i booked 3 months out to avoid this Labor Day rush. She found it and we were on our merry way. As for the hotel itself, the river view room is amazing. It was a great experience. The hotel itself is quite large. It's a walking distance away from the magnificent mile and the bean, and has a bus stop right across for faster travel. The gym and pool are kind of out of the way so don't book if that's your main amenities.

Really nice and close to walk to most everything. We saw they had a chi bar, burger joint and an ala-carte restaurant on their website so we chose to stay here. To find out on a Saturday eve they were all closed. Only thing that was open was a high end steak establishment. We ventured out and found good grub but was disappointed the advertised options were not open.

The hotel was not directly on the Riverwalk. I travel a lot and have stayed at better hotels for the money paid. Refrigerators and microwaves are the least accommodations that should be made available in the rooms. The elevators weren’t working on a couple occasions, not any late night food options and amenities very much lacking. We didn’t find the bottled water UNDER THE SINK IN THE BATHROOM till late the second day. Why not out in the room? Having to request for a fridge was inconvenient. Having to walk through a fitness center to get to a pool was very much lack luster. The hotel advertise to be ON THE RIVERWALK but it’s actually near the Riverwalk. Customer service was awesome. The people made our stay worth people there. The extra $30.00 per day for the same stuff is a scam. Why would someone want to go to the same museums everyday of their stay? I could have gotten more for my money elsewhere. Never again!!

A well maintained hotel with comfortable rooms. Lots of dining at the hotel and nearby. Check in was a breeze and staff did a great job explaining everything that we needed to know. They have a very nice pool with a balcony.

Self parking only tight fit in underground parking. They charge a destination fee, $15 of that covers food charged to room (even if you don’t charge any food you have to pay it). Some of it covers WiFi but if your a member of their subscription service that waves your Wi-Fi fee but you still have to pay this. No one told us to swipe key in elevator so some worked without others didn’t. In either situation not all of the elevator buttons lit up properly. The room was just ‘eh’ nothing special. The double beds felt smaller (or maybe I’m just bigger now). The refrigerator didn’t work. One community microwave by the elevators. Cups left for drinking were still wrapped but the protective wrap had a bunch of poked holes, what kids did this? Not trusting them. Counters and shelving looked a bit old and beat up missing paint. For the price and the name I expected more. Looks like their money all goes to the large welcoming lobby.

Bathroom shower walls were caked with build up - tub drain was plugged. Maintenance made a remark as if it was my fault for it being clogged but I didnt even get to wash my hair or shave my legs due to the tub filling with water & making me feel even more dirty, I got out and asked it get unclogged before showering again. Tv would not function without hotel employee assistance, wifi was difficult to connect personal devices without employee assistance. Discussed my experience as I was checking out & the employee made a remark that the view of the room must not have impressed me & my guests. However, I am not sure why a view should make me overlook my accessibility to a functional shower & tv / experience.. Valet though AMAZING customer service toward me & my guests as well as providing safety to those on side walks, those being picked up by car service or those driving by or in the area of hotel parking/pickup dropoff.

We got there around 8pm, and there was no more open valet spots so we had to park at another hotel. Before we knew the valet was full, they had taken our luggage to our room while I checked in and my husband parked our car. The bellhop who brought our items up wouldn’t leave until we tipped & procceded to wait until my husband got to the room to be tipped (awkward). The bathroom especially the toilet area was not clean once we arrived in our room. There was no mini fridge or microwave in room and apparently you had to request this beforehand (I did not see this anywhere in the booking) and surprise they were out of mini fridges? I still don’t understand this? Doesn’t make sense as there was a specific spot for the fridge. The rooms are very small and dated. There was a chunk of tile missing on the bathroom wall in the shower. Overall, the only good thing was the view from our room, as we could see the river. I will not be returning.

Rooms could use updating however the property is well maintained and clean. What made this stay was the courtesy of the staff, they were all exceptional, from the front desk to the doorman and restaurant staff members!!!

Fantastic location with easy access to public transportation, yet central location to walk everywhere!! Great river and lake views. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms with daily service which is rare these days. Would stay again because of the location. The breakfast buffet is a rip, however. Very ordinary for the price.

The view from our room was FABULOUS!!!! We were on the 24 th floor and looked out onto the lights of the Chicago River and buildings!!! We were so happy to be able to sit and enjoy this beautiful city and watch all of the activities on the water. The food and the service was great!!!

This hotel was in a great location and we had a beautiful view from our room. House keeping was very friendly and made sure our room was clean and we had what we needed each day. Overall, this hotel needs a big update, including the guest rooms. Everything was very dated.

Property was not organized. Our room was not ready until past 8pm, the staff lost track of our luggage. The luggage area staff were rude when asked for our luggage telling us to go into the luggage room to find out luggage when had asked the luggage to be brought up to the room. Based on the hotel price and name more was expected from their staff.

Absolutely TERRIBLE !!! Check in is 4:00pm…room wasn’t ready until 8:30 Upon checkin I was confirmed a king room…once I actually got my room, it was 2 doubles…1 of which was not even made….I was told they didn’t have any more kings…although I paid for one….staff very rude and not accommodating at all….they just didn’t care…typical Chicago I guess. Very unacceptable for a Marriott hotel

I would have given a higher rating but when I arrived at 5pm I was informed that there was no room clean and ready when check in was at 4pm. We were attending a concert that started at 8 so we needed to start getting ready and I explained that. The check in rep told me that she doesn’t know when a room would be ready and honestly wasn’t very friendly. I had booked and paid for a king room with river and was offered a double bed with city view which is not what we wanted since my boyfriend is over 6 ft tall. After about 20 minutes of the rep messaging housekeeping we were told our room was ready. Once in our room, it was nice and the view was amazing. We went to our concert and when we returned for the night we were thirsty and were informed there were no vending machines at the hotel. With how expensive parking was that was very inconvenient to have to leave and pay parking again. It was very late so we did without any drinks until morning. There was no blanket in the room, only 3 sheets and the middle one was visibly dirty.

Our room wasn’t ready by 6:30pm when check in is at 4pm. They couldn’t tell us when it would be ready, just that it hadn’t been cleaned yet. The rooms have seen better days. Paint peeling, the refrigerator was falling apart. It was fine for one night but we wouldn’t go back.

Suzanne went above and beyond to make our stay so special! She was my go to person that made our time there so awesome. Such a thoughtful, detailed and caring person. Robert at security and Sam at check in were also amazing and so helpful. The general staff we encountered was amazing and so polite. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the bar lounge was so convenient to hang out for drinks and catch up with friends. We can’t wait to return.

Clean room. Excellent location, right at the riverwalk, close to Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and more. The only thing I don’t like is the pricey parking $68/day, and destination fee $25/day even if you don’t use it you still have to pay for it.

Do not go to get breakfast at the cafe. It’s $36 per person for 1/2 cooked buffet food. Doesn’t matter what you eat or if you eat, it’s $36 per person and not one person will tell you that.

As stated in other reviews, the location is the best part of this hotel. The interior of the rooms desperately needs to be replaced. Still has popcorn ceilings. Looks like it was furnished in the 1980s. The room service is absurdly overpriced. Paid $40 for a burger and fries.

Our stay at this Sheraton Grand in Chicago was great. Clean and comfortable. We especially loved the fabulous buffet breakfast offerings. Fruit was really fresh, and there were choices for everyone: health conscious or not. Fabulous pastry and egg station for fresh omlets of your choosing. And warm, friendly, attentive staff.
