Great room size for four people, the bathroom had a good size too and everything worked well. There were teo fridges in the room, one for the minibar and one for self-use, which was practical. Room service was quick, efficient and good. The only thing not up to standard was the gym. The equipment in the weight room was old. The pool is spectacular, because it is preserved from the past, but also there it needed bits of refurbishment. Great hotel for family stays, with a Starbucks on the ground floor and right in the center of the city.

I so loved and disliked staying here.. First, parking is valet only $88 per night. Second, check in is at 3 pm and ours rooms were not ready at 3 pm. We had to reschedule our dinner for later because we finally got our room 3:40 pm. THE ELEVATORS are a nightmare. Going upstairs was time consuming but let me tell you check out. We were in loooong line floor 21 after 20 mins of waiting and each elevator coming full we took stairs WITH LUGGAGES FROM FLOOR 21. Floor 3 then it will ends we all all got lost where to go. Our family split trying to figure out one of us ended on employee elevator one of us employees in the basement. 37 minutes later with help of an employee whole bunch of us made it to the lobby. To add to frustration I needed change for valet and gift shop would not make change without me buying $7 bottle of water. NOW the rooms are nice spacious. Very clean love the bathroom love the location. Employees were very nice.

We waited over 30 minutes for elevators and ended up having to carry luggage down 21 flights of stairs to leave the property. Water was also dirty, came out orange and brown. Convenient location but would not return unless I could get a lower floor.

Excellent location downtown Chicago. The pool is very nice, large and with excellent sauna/shower . Rooms are clean, spacious enough, however, at least for our room the air conditioning was very noisy so I had to turn it off for the night. Subpar toiletries. Lobby was very indifferent

The hotel is in a prime location. We were upgraded to a newly renovated suite. The wallpaper had bubbles and was looking like it was going to peel. I would hate to see how it looked before. There was dust in the airways and it had a really bad smell. Tomato sauce was all over the phone and table I had to go buy wipes and clean everything. The doorman provided excellent service and made us feel safe. The Starbucks was awesome. I would say clean the vents and fix the walls and smells and it would be much better.

Very clean room. Very nice Big TV! Very nice view of the Michigan Ave. We got a free upgrade. The room we got was a corner room, but the configuration was little weird. Wasted hallway where the fridge was, so the side with the bed basically is wall to wall. Hotel overall is very clean, staff was nice. Bellhops that grabbed our bag were not as friendly, business as usual I guess, but no customer careness. Even told us it will take 20 mins+ when u leave it, maybe to dissuade us? It didn't! Location is great! walkable everywhere. Walgreens/convenience store right across the street. Fancy restaurant attach or Chick a fila fast food accross the street. Starbux downstairs in the lobby. There is a USB on the clock stand and business table in the room. My room was 1702. EZ checkout through the TV. Very expensive parking!

The hotel is very nice. But you better take your plugs. Michigan avenue runs right out front it seems to be an area where the echo of the buildings pulls people with incredibly noisy cars to race back and forth creating so much noise! I won't stay there again it was hard to sleep even with ear plugs.

Very nice hotel conveniently located on Michigan Ave easy walking distance to all the tourist friendly destinations in Chicago. Everything was fine -- room was clean, bathroom clean. Internet was spotty, and room fan was loud -- sounded like wind coming through an open window. Both very minor issues. Would stay here again.

I had high hopes for this stay, and for the most part, it was okay. However, service was just meh…Examples include an overall lack of friendliness at the front desk, who seemed almost bothered whenever I asked for help. One example includes asking one gentleman for water (during a heatwave), who gave me one measly bottle, even though there were three in my party. Another example is upon arrival, I made contact with a bellman, who looked away as though uninterested in being approached for help. Fortunately, the bellman who eventually helped us to our room was extremely kind and helpful. Our room was okay. However, there was a dank odor in the room, which I believe was likely the carpet. It’s important to note that this hotel is pet friendly, a fact I was not aware of when I booked this hotel. I am allergic to pet dander, and suspect that this hotel is not ideal for allergy sufferers like me. I did a lot of sneezing during my stay. One last thing I’ll say in their favor: I love the kid friendly movies in the pool. Our bellman gave us the heads up when he delivered our luggage to the room, and that was a highlight for my son. In all, while not terrible, I probably won’t return to this hotel.

We were charged for 3 bottles of wine from the in-room bar even though we didn’t touch one item in it. And we were never sent a copy of the check out invoice when we requested it be sent via email, which was confirmed during check out. Once we received the invoice, after calling the hotel, we found the erroneous wine charge and were quite upset. After calling and expressing our concern and disappointment, we received a full refund of the wine bottle charges very promptly. Not impressed that we were charged for something we did not use but were satisfied with the final outcome and refund. Although the hotel was otherwise excellent, we will not stay there again because of this.

Impeccable service like nothing I’ve ever seen. The entire staff is unflappable! Every request we made was met with a calm and efficient response. Two beds instead of one? No problem. Late checkout? Sure thing. Quick baggage storage and retrieval in the midst of crazy Labor Day crowds. Calm valet parking on crazy Michigan ave when we arrived! The exceptional staff allowed us to relax and really enjoy our short stay. Would return any time! In a market that has a lot of choices, the Intercontinental stands high above the competition.

Room: Bed and living spaces were great. The coffee was awful, worst ever. The mini bar and snack items in-room were ridiculously over priced. The Bathroom had a lot of wasted space. The shower was tiny and the small bathtub is unnecessary and not useful. Restaurants: Jordan’s is one of our favorites, love it! The breakfast buffet was not worth the money. It was barely more than a continental breakfast. Casa Chi food was really good but extremely overpriced for the quantity. Area: the best area to stay downtown. Everything you could want is within walking distance. Overall, a nice place but could use some refinements.

The Michael Jordan steakhouse in the hotel was great! Best filet mignon I’ve ever had, and was able to order it for room service! Also a Starbucks in the hotel, which was very convenient. Room was very nice. Hotel is a short walk to Navy Pier and Millennium Park. Lots of shopping and restaurants to choose from as well within a few blocks.

The property was lovely. but the room did not have any drawers for clothes. I had to use 2 chairs in the room which was a rather dumb design. In addition, the buffet breakfast was over $40 a person. While it was good overall the French toast was always cold and hard and the pancakes were not very good. Even with syrup I couldn’t eat it. For $40 you should at least have an omelet station, waffles and some desserts.

Lux hotel right in the middle of everything! Friendly and accomodating staff. We parked in the garage and it was a very smooth valet process. Although the hotel was very busy, we were able to check in early, the room was very clean and well stocked. The Michael Jordan restaurant in the lobby was pricy but delicious and a fun addition to our stay.

Superb staff who were very responsive to requests or minor issues. Location is perfect...walkable north or south to dining or attractions. Rooms are small but clean and well-maintained, showing the slightest bit of age and datedness. With that said, the value of the hotel made it worth sacrificing some luxury. Breakfast buffet was great, but other in-hotel dining options (especially with kids) are limited. Valet parking at the front of the hotel is chaotic, but welcome to the city. Pool is gorgeous, but it is for kids only (movie night, etc.). Perfect place to take in the lights in the city at Christmas. I would stay here again.

2 of our 3 rooms had issues. One room had a filthy air filter, and the other had a leaking ceiling, and the room was musty. Elevators are slow and there are long lines to get on them. Be prepared to wait 10 minutes or so to get on one going down from your floor. The pool was lovely, valet and bellman services were superb.

I had a very nice stay at the InterContinental hotel in Chicago. I went there to visit the American Girl store with my 3 daughters and 6 granddaughters. We had the same young man check us in and out and he was very pleasant and welcoming. The rooms were very nice and the Center Court had great breakfasts. We were very close to all the attractions that we hoped to visit in our very short stay.
