The Hilton Garden South Bend is an amazing location with the nicest staff around. The pool and the exercize room are such a nice addition. The breakfast may seem a bit expensive, but you get a lot! Be sure to go to the bar and eat at the Bistro. The food at the Bistro is some of the best in South Bend! We will be back.

This was my 2nd time staying here. Each time the GS person spoke first as I walked through the door, a major plus. The rooms and grounds were cleaned. Downside: not enough available parking.

Woke up Sunday morning for a shower and the water was COLD. We placed a courtesy call to the front desk for maintenance and was told they would look into it. Three hours later and there was still no hot water or returned call from the front desk. I placed a second call and was told by Liz at the front desk that there were no issues and maintenance had checked into the concern. I explained that no one from maintenance stopped by the room. She quickly told me they didn’t have to because the problem could be the water heater but reassured me there was no issue and the problem may have been several guests taking a shower at the same time before checkout. I told her that was unacceptable and would be considering checking out. She was so unbothered and discontinued the call. About an hour later I had another hotel room reserved and came down to grab contact numbers and check out. The same front desk clerk then decided to tell me there was an issue and one of the water heaters was out. She never apologized for giving me incorrect information and said there were multiple complaints. I had never experienced such poor customer service and will need a night refund because there was no way I could wash my hair and shower with cold water.

We have a Valentines tradition where we get a hotel with a pool for a night. My daughter happened to be off of school on Friday so we planned it for the Thursday after Valentines Day. The girl at the front desk noticed my 8 year old and figured out quickly why we were probably there. She smile and immediately put us at the room closest to the pool. Everyone was extremely polite and the hotel was beautiful.

First impressions walking in the door were looks great and proceeded to the desk where the person was very friendly and checked us in immediately. She explained where everything was and how to get to our room. We arrived at our room and was very pleased to see it neat and clean. Later in the evening we had dinner at their restaurant where the waiter and waitresses treated us very well. The food we had was great. As we checked out we were thanked for our stay.

Needed a real coffee mug to microwave tea in room, went to front desk / restaurant 3 people just looked at me, said someone would be right with me, not helpful for them to all pass the buck. The bathroom was very small odd layout. Carpet in room old. Chair in room old upholstery. Pillows were way too thick. We’ve stayed there before and this time was just not as good. Lack of customer friendly service and hotel is showing its age.

Everything was nice with the hotel and facilities, my only issue was that I requested a lower level room and I got one on the top floor. After asking about changing to a lower level I was told that they were booked and didn't have a suite available on a lower level. Since I requested a week earlier I just had expected it would have been on hold.
