The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very clean and very pretty. Everyone was friendly and attentive to us. Great location as well. Just know that parking is $79/night and valet is the only option because the structure they use is down the street. Also, know that there is a separate $35 destination fee added on to the price of the room. I believe it is per day. Outside of knowing about those fees, I would definitely make this hotel a regular for when I'm in Chicago.

The Pendry is a beautiful hotel, but I did have a few issues. I was on the 22nd floor and the whole floor was hot. The room would be set to 64 degrees, but stayed at 68, but also was never 68 degrees. It was more like 78 degrees in the room itself. The rooftop bar/restaurant was nice, but reservations MUST be made to get into the place on a Friday or Saturday. The first night we got there, they were closed for a private party and Saturday night, we couldn’t get in at all when I feel as guest should have access to the place. Just make sure you book a reservation weeks/days before you even get into town.

This is a great hotel in a historic building right on Michigan Ave. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They have one of the best hotel gyms that I have ever seen. The beds were quality. The only thing I would warn visitors about is that they should bring their earplugs due to the super loud cars and motorcycles that seem to cruise the avenue until 3AM with loud mufflers and music.

This was property was centrally located next to everything that a first time visitor would like to experience. The access to the parks, museums, the Riverwalk and dining options makes for an enjoyable trip. The only downside was having to wait a considerable time for the elevators. Having 5 elevators and not all running at the same time, led to long wait times for a popular hotel with many guests.

Not a good experience, told me to pay for an upgrade if wanted lake view, then only got a 13th floor room, with little view to the lake. Room is dirty, a lot of stains on the walls and furnitures. Not clean at all.

Room was very nice and clean. Great location and we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Only thing I would say is that it is a little loud at night but you are downtown right off Michigan ave so you should expect some street noise. Would definitely stay here again.

Walked into bathroom and found human hairs on counters and bathroom sink along with some brown substance. I let the concierge know when I was walking out to dinner and all I got was a “we sorry and we will let house keeping know.” Never did she mention she would send someone up to clean it or at least offer anything for the trouble. Not happy at all; especially since the price of the hotel isn’t cheap.

The hotel's location is quite good and walking distance from most downtown hot spots. It is also a nice looking hotel with gilded Art Deco features. The rooms are fine but mine did smell like cat litter for about 24 hours. Not sure what that was about. The staff were very kind, and the attached restaurant was quite good (and the servers were super friendly). Overall, a good experience but was hoping for a little more for the price I paid.

Wonderful hotel, fabulous staff and my room was incredibly clean and so beautiful (how do they keep white carpets so white)? It was a weekend with old friends, the hotel easily accommodated adjoining rooms - which are surprisingly hard to arrange at many nice hotels. And seriously, the carpet was so nice and clean (and new?) that we laid around in the floor and talked - when do you ever do that at a hotel? Only complaint was one elevator was kinda glitchy.

I’ve stayed here several times but this time I was quite disappointed; there was what appeared to be blood on one of our towels and old food on the floor. The shower knobs were hard to operate and when I got them to work I had to wait for brown water to clear before I could shower.

If you like air conditioning, then I would not stay here. I was told that "the AC doesn't work in the winter, and the heat doesn't work in the summer." This is because "the building is so old that only one will work per season." This is problematic because the rooms are very hot. For the money you'll spend to stay here, you can stay at a much nicer place.

Lovely hotel, basic, plain decor in-room with touches of interest in the tile that seemed to reflect the history and style of the building. Check-in line was lengthy but staff was kind. The room service availability was nice. I booked this hotel and room for several reasons- the tie-breaker was that it was listed with a tub… but there was no tub. Hotels.com refunded me $24… okay, but I would have went with a much less costly hotel if I knew there was no tub. Last, the hotel was LOUD. Very little sleep because of the very loud traffic all night, and very little soundproofing.

This hotel is so overpriced. Had the double queen room for over $600 for the night and we were so packed in. We ordered coffee and they brought us more pods for the in room machine instead, windows don’t block any sound so we awakened at 6:30 am on a Sunday to the sound of trash trucks on the street. Just not a great value.

The hotel rooms need MAJOR updates. Not worth the price except for the location location location. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels that are comparable in price international and within the CONUS. The gym however was fabulous. Rooms, not worth the price at all. Tiny bathrooms and weird layout.

While this property is in an absolutely gorgeous historic building (that gets called out during architecture tours), my stay left a little quite a bit to be desired. My problems were mainly with the front desk staff, who seemed overwhelmed and frustrated for the most part during an incredibly busy holiday weekend. When I first arrived, almost an hour after check-in time, housekeeping was running behind and originally told me that my room wasn’t ready. When they noticed my displeasure, they found another room for me. That set the tone for the stay. Lines at the front desk constantly, elevators full or too slow. The room itself was lovely and some of the best bath products I’ve experienced at a hotel recently, but they need to improve on slickness and efficiency, as well as a real hospitality mindset

We enjoyed the rooftop dining--the view is terrific, especially after dark. Excellent location on Michigan Ave near restaurants, shopping and museums. Did the valet parking and it worked well for us. The service was all around excellent including checkin/checkout, in room dining service (we did breakfast), concierge, baggage help and valet . They were able to give us a late check out so we could fit in an architectural boat tour and then kept our luggage all day until evening so we could squeeze more out of this long weekend trip to the Windy City. The hotel is clean, stylish and service is top rate. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Pendry Chicago doesn’t recognize bookings through hotels.com. So even though I booked through Hotels.com, I was still charged when I got there. So I was charged with hotels.com and then I was charged with them, so I paid double. I was told I would get a refund from Pendry Chicago for the mistake, but I have yet to see my money back. In addition to being double charged, there were a bunch of mysterious charges that popped up on my card from Pendry Chicago during my stay so in addition to accidentally being charged $1420 for three days, I was also charged a mysterious $860… for what - incidentals? And I was also charged an additional $400 for what - incidental charges? I have no idea what any of these charges were for so basically in the end I was in $2600 with Pendry Chicago for nothing. With respect to my stay, although the hotel is nice and the staff are friendly, the neighborhood is incredibly noisy. I expected maybe some soundproof windows, something to keep the noise out since it’s on Michigan Avenue, but there was no such thing. You can hear everything into the night - everything from people to sirens to dogs barking. This hotel is not worth all of the double charges and the restless nights.

This hotel is located in an historic art deco building; but, aside from the elevator lobby, there's little evidence of that feature. In fact, the lobby area and our room lacked any sense of charm or welcoming. Our room was quiet, clean, and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was forgettable with horrible service and just okay food. My main beef was with the multiple errors in our billing. We had paid for the room through Expedia, but twice we were charged for the room during our stay plus other various and sundry suspicious charges. Eventually all the extra charges were dropped from our Visa bill, but not without a fair amount of phone calling and consternation on our part. I get the impression that the hotel's sole mission is to extract as many extra payments as possible from the clients.

Muriel from front desk was Outstanding!! Her knowledge and dedication to making us feel like at Home was wonderful! She answered all our questions and gave us great suggestions. Pendry Chicago has a great asset by having Muriel as part of their team. Bellmans were very cordial and nice. Great Location, Hotel Room super clean.

The hotel is really nice. But the check in took way too long, the lady at the front desk couldn’t find the reservations and kept mixing them up. at check out we had extra charges that didn’t exist. Room service has TERRIBLE service so does the restaurant.

The hotel's location in the Loop is unbeatable—just a minute from the Riverwalk and a quick five-minute stroll to Millennium Park, with plenty to do within walking distance. The rooms are modern, spacious (especially for a busy city), and comfortable. Room service was impeccable, and the room was spotless throughout our stay. They also offer unlimited complimentary water and good-quality in-room coffee, which added an extra level of convenience. Location is great for Architectural tours. Being on Michigan Ave at the river was great for walking. Two blocks from the Loop the Chicago Theater, and the "L" stop at State and Lake. Easy to take L to Oak Park. Short distance to Millennium Park. Plenty of coffee and pastry places within a minute walk. 5 minute walk to the Apple Store. Quite room. Beautiful historic building.

While the hotel was beautiful and clean, and everyone was so kind and helpful, the loud hustle and bustle from the city below, bled through the windows and created a difficult time to sleep as there was not one bit of silence throughout the night, but that is literally what you get when you’re staying in the middle of the city. The restaurant was excellent with amazing service. I would recommend if you’re a heavy sleeper.

The stay so far has been great, but we attempted to order in room dining which, according to the menu, is available until 5AM, but were advised by the front desk staff that we would not be able to order food for at least 40 minutes while the kitchen was “cleaned”. The hotel has a great scent throughout, and its location is perfect for exploring Chicago — very convenient! The staff is highly professional, and the room was extremely comfortable. However, there are a few downsides. The room’s Art Deco decor leans heavily on white tones and black-and-white photos, which felt a bit stark. It could benefit from a stand for opening carry-ons, and the mirrors inside the closet are not very practical. The Venteux restaurant seems understaffed; I had to wait 25 minutes for food on one occasion, and on another morning, it took 10 minutes for a host to arrive and seat guests. For the price point, being served orange juice from concentrate was also disappointing. On a positive note, the bar downstairs is quite good. As for the rooftop, it's decent, but the interior space next to the bar doesn't quite live up to what one might expect from a 'luxury' label

Really beautiful hotel in Chicago, perfectly located for exploring the city, with a nice rooftop bar and ground floor bar, restaurant is also nice though often booked for business evets. We had a corner suite which was massive and offered views of both the river and the city, really comfortable bed and shower was excellent. Hotel has a good gym which is not very busy. would definitely recommend as a place to stay.

Amazing hotel, the best doormen and a reluctant but helpful concierge lol. Love that they still give you bathrobes in the room and the in room bar selection is top notch. The Vendeux was w9nderful as well, particular the service. Everything about the stay was wonderful.
