Merida Inn & Suites

The hotel is old but the room and bath were very clean with a hot shower and great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The room also came with a fridge and microwave. When the sink plugged up the proprietor took care of it right away. It showed us that they care about their guests. Very reasonable price.

Its a budget place to stay and as such has the basic no frills to match. Of all you need is a place to sleep and a shower than this is your place. It has a pool, i didnt use it so i cant comment on that. Its close to a highway and train tracks so it loud but it fades as the night goes on. For the price it was fine.

The staff seemed to have a language barrier because the woman did not understand English when I asked for a copy of my room charges. The small pool appeared clean but I didn’t get to swim this trip, one reason is the pool is open only 9AM to Dusk. Breakfast not even continental is provided but the room had a one cup generic coffee maker, good working micro & mini fridge. The bed & pillows were most comfortable I slept very well. Last but not least the bathroom was well supplied with soap, shampoo & conditioner plus hair dryer.

Older property but they do the best they can to keep property clean. Friendly front desk staff. The major hangup here is parking is horrible. This isn't a 4 or 5 star place but they do a good job at providing a good room at a fairly reasonable price considering where they are situated.

The propert was clean and, the faculty were very nice. Wish the pool was operational but, all in all a very nice place to stay for a few days!

Pool is closed. Bar is closed. Room was dirty prior tenant had left toothbrush in the tub. Makes me wonder if they even cleaned the bathroom. Staff was nice though.

It was very clean , quiet I love the decor outside and pool. Comfortable day for one night.

Okay stay. Definitely needs a better cleaning as my daughter stepped on glass by the bed and cut her foot. Mentioned it to them and got a smile. Not sure if he understood what I was saying.

Room had an off smoke/incense smell. Bed was uncomfortable, sheets were stained, pool towels to be used as bath towels. Definitely not staying here again

Definitely not worth the money. To call the room a suite is false advertising. Not even drinking glasses in the kitchenette. It did appear clean but outdated, Paint peeling, tiles in bathroom cracked and stained. If not for the tub area I have seen larger bathrooms on an airplane.

Genuinely the only thing good about the room was that the AC could go down to 60°. There was a poop stain on the bathroom floor, a 3inch GAP under the front door that we had to plug up with towels so bugs wouldn’t get in, and the TV didn’t even have a speaker so it was useless. Extremely outdated rooms, the key cards working are a hit or miss. Black mold was growing on the shower curtain and the ceiling texture was PEELING off of the ceiling everywhere. My asthma and allergies have genuinely never been that bad in my life. They also kicked out a father and his small child that was staying next to us to clean the room at 10:30am… when checkout was at 11am. The prices do not reflect these conditions at all, I thought I was getting at least a decent room. Never again.

Dirty, outdated and not good value. Furniture at least 30 years old. Washroom had a hole in the ceiling. Everything in the room smelled like smoke. You will hear every single car or truck passing by so if you end up staying here, bring ear plugs. Mattress full of stains. Found someone else’s hair in the bed. Not sure how this place has above 8 average review grade, but definitely fooled me. In summary, definitely not recomended. This was probably the worst stay hotel stay I ever had.

The manager was very helpful. The recommendation to eat at Taco Libre up the street was excellent. The room is fine. The internet wifi was wonky and the bed unfortunately was missing two support slats. Woke up with a terrible hip and back and. I am sure they will have it fixed by my next visit. Beautiful flowers around the place really make it welcoming!

Very basic motel. Other reviews and pictures are kind of misleading. It was ok for the price and the short notice we booked our trip. I would rate it more in the 7 scale, not 8+. Room was fairly clean, but small improvements could be made. On a Main Street, so a little noise, but tolerable.

This is an older motel but it appears they are trying to take good care of it. It was vlean enough and there was plenty of hot water. The bed isn’t comfy and it was pretty noisy (the heater and the highway). I wouldn't say it was affordable but this is a tourist town so relatively it is.

The room is big enough for 2 people. You get a queen size bed, a TV, coffee table bathroom with commode and shower. The sink is outside the bathroom and the refrigerator and microwave is in a little cubby hole. There's no place to hang your clothes. One must live out of your suite case.

I've been on a two week cross country motorcycle trip and this was by far the best place I stayed. The staff is incredible. Steve in the evening and T in the morning were incredibly kind and accomodating, and very enjoyable to chat with (I'm sure T was excited Liverpool beat Villa today and City lost out 🙄 lol). The property is definitely walkable to historic downtown, but also close enough for a cheap Lyft. Other cool spots are just a few mins walking distance away. I highly recommend this quaint little property over the brand name motels nearby.

the man that checked us in seemed kinda rude. Didn’t talk much. The room was ok. Pillows could have been better and there was hair on the bathtub and the shower curtain had mold on it. I found crumbs of food underneath the sheets. It was a nice room for what I paid but it could have been cleaner.

Everything about this visit was amazing. From the check in and the extra help the owner provided about St. Augustine to the condition of the room to the check out. There is so much to do in St. Augustine that we weren't able to get it one in a weekend, so we will be back and we will be staying at Merida Inn again.

We arrived earlier than planned everyone was helpful and let me check in right away.

Awful hotel. Staff barely spoke English and didn’t really seem to have a clue what he was doing. Room was not clean and smelled like someone had been smoking in. Staff said all rooms non smoking and offered air freshener as a solution. We kept on being woken up through the night from the smell of smoke which would only mean someone was smoking outside in the room next door. They need a smoking area away from the rooms in my opinion.

We showed up at 2am driving from Cape coral took us 5 hours. No one was in the office, we called the number on the door and the man said..check in is at 3pm. I didn't even get off work until 730 pm. He would not come into the office. This is the most terrible service I am sure Ive ever gotten. Do not stay here inl

Close to areas of interest

Check-in was easy. The room was clean along with the bathroom. We had a room with a hot tub and it was also clean. It's close to downtown and other areas so you dont have to travel too far to get where you want to go. Vilano beach is also about 5 mins away. Very cute hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Private ownership, small, easy to walk to historic district

We stayed at the motel for a wedding shower that was down the road. The location was good for our event. The room had a stale smell that reminded me of hotel rooms that allowed smoking when I was a kid. The area was safe and the fare was low. It was just what we needed for one night

I’m we stayed here one night. It was close to colonial St. Augustine; not walkable, but a short drive. No breakfast, and the property is a bit dated, but clean.

Saint Augustine is often an expensive place to stay. Extremely touristy, many of the brand properties are in the 250 range a night. We stay at this property which I found on Expedia. The room size was adequate. But as soon as we got into the room, it smelled like Pio. We come to find later that the same smell existed when we walked into a retail store on the carpet where shopping carts are parked. Dirty carpet that hasn’t been cleaned in a really long time. There were Halsa road noise on the upstairs unit that we had as sport, bike motorcycles, jammed by with straight pipes several times in the evening. Nothing that the hotel could do anything about. We should’ve stayed next-door at one of the two branded which were approximately $50 more but would’ve also included breakfast did not have. There is a reason that hotel business is changed. People want consistency and this is one more reason not to go off the reservation when it comes to making future travel plans. Please note that I stayed in hotels four days a week for over 20 years in my prior sales rep roles- so I have a bit of experience in, traveling and staying at properties.

The air conditioning was effective! The room was clean, the staff was good. I just didn’t like the coffee offered
