Great property, beach, and pool. This is also an all-inclusive resort so be prepared for watered-down cocktails. Staff is wonderful. They have pickleball courts! You will not find a decent cup of coffee on the grounds.

I really liked how clean all areas of the property are. The staff was also very friendly, and accommodating. One thing that was a downside for me was that the beach area in front of the hotel is not very swimmable because there are jellyfish and alligator warning signs. Other than that, I had a restful stay at this resort!

All the staff were very friendly and professional. Good selection dining options and beverages at reasonable prices. Beautiful sunset evenings on the beach. Good for whale watching too. The infinity pool was well maintainted and great for swimming and relaxing. The large hot tub was very invigorating.

Excellent location. Staff are amazing. Food was good for the most part. The hotel itself had issues. Of the 3 elevators just past the coffee shop, only all 3 worked twice in our ten day visit. A couple of times, only 1 and one day for a few hours, none. Had no water one day for a few hours then running very brown when it returned. Went away after a while. I would not let these issues deter anyone from staying here. Would we return here? Yes. We didn't do the all-inclusive because honestly, the cost is not justifiable. Just do a deposit at check in for the convenience of day drinking at the pool and the meals you eat there. Between that and eating out, we spent less than the cost per person for all-inclusive. Saying that, we're from Canada and the dollar is not as strong as the US greenback. If you eat and drink a lot with no plans to to anywhere, worth it. Parents, don't bring your teens here unless they are fine chilling with older folks, lol. Heard a few comments from teens on the amount of old people here. Not much to do for them to be honest. The Marina is definitely more quiet than staying further in town, such as the hotel zone. The other, and probably best thing, it's a proper hotel, no time share bs to waste your time.

I liked it was walking distance to the marina. I did not like the fact the pool was not well maintained. The water was cloudy, yellow substance floating In the pool and no smell of chlorine until my last night there. Since it is advised to not go into the beach water due to crocodiles, we had to be at the pool most of our stay. I have never seen a Marriott pool so poorly unkept.

Amazing location! Beachfront property, minutes from the marina, malls and airport. They have a beautiful pool. I’ve stayed at both Westin and Marriott and the Marriott location has a much nicer beach. Perfect for walks and taking in the sunset. There were signs warning of crocodile sightings so most people stayed out of the water (this was June. We actually saw a croc at the marina). The hotel was roughly 20-30 minutes from Centro and Zona Romantica. There’s a swim- up bar at the pool and plenty of lounge areas around the property. There’s a gym, spa, salon, some outdoor sports areas. I rate the spa a 2-3. We go to spas often and I didn’t think this one was worth the hundreds $ we spent on massages. The food was good. There are multiple options including a breakfast buffet, Japanese grill, sports bar, and restaurants by the beach, pool, and lobby with tacos, ceviche, etc. They also have a coffee shop, boutique and a popular ice cream/crepe bar. We had our best meals offsite at nearby Sonora Prime and The Iguana restaurant. It would be nice if the hotel had live music, dancing or some form of entertainment. There wasn’t much to do in the evenings on property. Overall, the experience was excellent especially considering this hotel was at a lower price point than many others. I recommend for groups and families.

The Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa is a relaxing resort conveniently located near the airport and walkable distance to the PV Marina. The property is gated and the entrance is monitored by staff people. You have to check in at the gate to enter. It's very safe. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning crew to the servers are all super friendly. The concierge was great in going out of his way to find a good surfing class for a teenager. The only negative was the cleanliness of the pool. The first two days the water was murky. You couldn't see more than 3 feet in front of you in the water. They cleaned it up after a few days and it was clean after that. It is a family friendly resort which is great if you have kids, but not so great if you don't. There were some well behaved kids and there were kids running around screaming at the top of their lung. Overall though, the resort is excellent. I would go back and stay at the resort. Spring break pricing was expensive, but normal rates are very reasonable.

The service staff was great. The facility is run down and in need of a major upgrade, repairs and maintenance. The room had a bad smell of unclean ductwork and the ventilation was not satisfactory. The room got very humid at night. The property itself was a let down as it was very dated and not well maintained. The food was subpar and the only saving grace was the enthusiastic serving staff - all of whom were great.

You can tell the property is a bit older; kudos to the staff for working hard to keep it clean and inviting. The check in and out was smooth. The pool was small but totally met our needs. The staff were friendly and we felt very safe while there. It has nothing to do with the Marriott; there is a huge unfinished/abandoned looking building across from the hotel that’s a bit of an eyesore but otherwise, the Marina area was lovely.

We recently stayed for eight nights at the Marriott puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. While the weather was hot and the humidity high during the second week of August, everything else was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining and food services. Hotel is beautiful and well maintained, I had the bad luck of a room with a broken shower. Maintenance worker need to fix it twice and I lost a lot of time. Not ideal when you’re on vacation. Also the digital key never worked.

Property is in a good location with nice clean beach though it’s not swimmable. Pool and staff are great - polite, helpful . Fooding is average, they can level it up though the breakfast buffet is totally amazing with good options . The main issue with resort are the rooms themselves - they are old, kinda smelly with worn down rugs, the beds are uncomfortable and sofa bed completely unusable( we had to get rollaways but they were barely sleepable) and biggest issue is walls are super thin and you can hear all your neighbors. I think if they can update the rooms the property will become a lot more appealing and truly Marriott like.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst resort experience of my life. My stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa from May 14-20th was a parade of incompetence, disrespect, and outright theft. If I could give zero stars, I would. Let's start with the "Spa & Confusion" debacle. On Saturday, May 18th, around 11 AM, my wife tried to book a spa appointment for Monday. Initially, only afternoon slots were available, so she booked for 3 PM. Shortly after, realizing it conflicted with other activities, she cancelled it at the spa. Later that day, around 2 PM, I went back to the spa to reschedule for Monday morning, and suddenly, 10 AM was available – conflicting with what we were initially told. Fine, we booked it. Then, the true nightmare began. My wife received a call from the spa claiming we missed a Saturday appointment. This was baffling, as we never scheduled for Saturday! We were forced to waste our time trying to confirm there would be no cancellation charges and that our Monday appointment was correct. The front desk spa worker on the phone, instead of clarifying, became aggressive, snapped at my wife, blamed her, and then hung up on her mid-sentence. The concierge then told us we might get a cancellation charge and that the original Monday 3 PM appointment was indeed cancelled. Fast forward to Monday morning, 10 AM, we arrive for our rescheduled couples massage. The person checking us in, Lupita, rudely stated there was an appointment for 3 PM – the one we were

This resort is a Gem! We will definitely come back! Breakfast was really good… although a bit pricey for the food served. The servers by the pool restaurant and bar are the Bomb! On another note a few of the front desk clerks were not as “friendly”. I was myself a front desk clerk for several years and also work customer service. Therefore you always expect the best… well my experience in this part of the hotel was limited. I would suggest to implement “more smiles in this area” other than being too serious and ruled. The point is to make the customer feel welcomed and happy. The pricing deserves this good service and more smiles. I honestly felt “mistreated” every time I approached the front desk with my questions in person and at check out I did not even get a “thank you for staying with us” . This hotels Really needs improvement in this area or some more friendly staff. I mean is not like you are paying $100 a night hotel.

We had booked two rooms with a panoramic ocean view. After a long travel day we got to the Marriott and the check in person was helping us check in and disappeared for about 20 minutes. We finally asked someone where he went and they went to find him. After some time they told us they had given away both of our rooms! They said they gave them to a pilot who needed them. They then wanted to send us to another resort for a night! I refused to go to another resort and after about 1.5 hours of standing there they put us all in one cheaper room for the night. I talked to another woman staying there the next day and she said the same thing happened to her last year. Crazy me to find out Marriott has a deal with some airlines that pilots can get rooms whenever they need them and take a paying customers room away at will. So Marriott takes the money from the airlines for this deal and doesn’t advertise that if you book with them your room isn’t guaranteed if a pilot needs it. This to me is false advertising!! If we had known this was their policy then we would have the choice to take the chance to loose our rooms after traveling thousands of miles. Someone needs to check on the legality of this policy because the customer has no idea this could happen.

Pros : It is a beautiful property with exceptional views Very clean Pool staff is very helpful Can easily book excursion at the property Pool and pool bar is amazing Coffee, ice cream cafe, bar all are very good. Cons Check in staff is not welcoming at all. Actually, not sure why but not helpful al all. You have to ask every details as well as explain them if any credits from Expedia. House keeping and room service is not consistent. Missed the service one day and you have to call multiple times for any extra accessaries You have to be sharp 9:00AM in case you like to get the good beach seats. Most are gone by 10:00AM Food is not good in any of the property restaurants. Overall 3.5 stars property.

Have stayed here before, very friendly staff. Love the location and that it’s a family atmosphere. It’s not a party, drinking place. Close to all the nice dining restaurants. Would take a taxi with no problem and actually cheaper than Uber. (Always ask what the charge will be) just make sure that when you are closing your bill that they don’t charge you for the resort fee taxes. Lucky I had my breakdown of charges from Expedia and had them adjust it. My package had included those charges already.

Love the hotel location, 10 minutes from airport, 5 minute walk to marina, large pool area, huge pool w/ great proximity to the beach. Beautiful foliage. Nice spacious clean rooms. Love the pool restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast, lunch and pool area servers were great. Attentive, knowledgeable and hustled. Dinner staff not as impressive, not as present, no knowledge of wine. We have been coming to the Marriott for many many years. Always enjoy our experience. All was as expected except the staff handling the towels and water sports. Had a hard time communicating. Were given times to use kayaks only to be told that kayaks can't be used after a specific time. Poor communication amongst the staff. One staff member told us one thing only to have another staff member tell us something different. Had to hunt down the life guard who was hidden in the corner of the hut on her phone to get permission to kayak. Not professional. Also hearing that the Marriott is going all inclusive. One of the reasons we've always chosen the Marriott is because it isn't all inclusive. We value personalized good service, good food and a dining experience with our family. I hope those elements won't get lost in the change.

Resort is located close to marina area with good food choices, shopping. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were not too happy with our first room view, Juan changed us to a much better room, great view of pool and ocean. Ulysses set us up with an awesome whale tour! Breakfast and lunch were very good at Casita. Property is needing an update, but overall very nice! We will go back next year!

Overall, the resort was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I will say that the breakfast restaurant La Estancia wasn’t very good. The dinner option, though Las Casitas was great. Also, our experience at the spa was definitely not the best. I will write that separately.

Great Service, Great Food—But Please Don’t Turn This into a Playland The service here is excellent, and the dining options are well-rounded. The Japanese restaurant, in particular, is outstanding. I've truly enjoyed my time here and appreciate the relaxing atmosphere the resort currently offers. That said, I'm very disappointed to hear that the new owners plan to transition the resort to an all-inclusive model. Puerto Vallarta is a foodie’s paradise, and part of the magic of staying here is exploring the incredible local restaurants throughout town. Limiting guests to on-site dining would take away a huge part of the PV experience. I hope the owners understand that many of us don’t want to be locked into resort meals, no matter how good they are. I also heard plans to add a lazy river, which feels more suited to a theme park than a sophisticated beachfront resort. A new adults-only pool sounds promising, but I’m confused why it’s being placed closer to the hotel rather than near the ocean—where adults typically want to relax and enjoy the view in peace. This is a special place. I truly hope the new direction doesn't strip away what makes it feel like an escape for adults, not a resort for families with pool floaties.

Exceeded our expectations. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend this place. The rooms were great and clean. The pool was a great way to start our day in the sun. It was clean and well maintained. It overlooked the ocean and had a beautiful view. It was warm yet refreshing In the heat. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great. I highly recommend staying at a non-all inclusive as it allowed for us to experience many things off property and food was way better than daily buffets. It was walking distance to the marina which had a variety of restaurants and shops. And it was only a $15 taxi down to the Melecon boardwalk. It was a great location. Felt super safe. We’d walk to the marina in the afternoon/night and it was safe and entertaining. I especially enjoyed the noodles at Mikado, the fresh catch and churros at Las Casitas, the Peruvian ceviche at the Tequila bar, and the sliders at Champions. My husband enjoyed the breakfast at La Estancia. Great stay!
