Always a good stay/ location for the horse show. Breakfast good choice but need more drinks machines or separate hot water for tea as 2 machines not enough for volume of customers. Reception toilets always smell stale though so please consider an air freshener with regular bursts !!

The small hotel parking is open to public for the same price, and hotel being next to the Excel means there is nooo parking space available during an event. The sign when entering the parking always says there is space, but it’s not true, when you get in, you will see there is no car park available and many cars already entered and found no space is available, and now they have to pay £5 to exit the car park.

Even though the hotel was understaffed with a delay in getting our rooms, and difficulty accessing the parking, the hotel staff were really helpful in trying to compensate for the shortcomings.

The room was ready. Expensive due to being marathon weekend which is why we were there. Good condition. Unfortunately a fire alarm and evacuation really spoiled the stay, standing in the cold with a child after 10pm waiting to be let back in less than ideal.

The hotel and breakfast were great as per every other time we have stayed and the Elizabeth Line has made getting into central London so much quicker and easier. The only downside to the stay was the parking charges. £50 for 30 hours parking on top of the £25 congestion charge will make us think twice about using Novotel Excel in the future.

Our first choice when visiting London. A great hotel with a fabulous terrace for a coffee or a cocktail, soaking up the sun. Easy access to the city and great to pop over to the O2 on the cable car for dinner. Lovely meal in the restaurant one night with attentive service from Klea.

Shower drain was probably blocked so water was over spilling when having a shower, the shower mixer kept dripping all night , room not well cleaned (smelly) . Never again

Not a 4 star hotel and not superior room. You are better off staying at Travelodge. Bathroom is small and needs updating, toilet is separate from bathroom. Carpets were stained and dirty in bedroom. This is not worth £159 for one night and on top of eveything you have to pay £25 to park your car. Staff were friendly.

The accommodation was in a perfect location for London Excel with excellent public transportation getting there. My room was comfortable and quiet. The only 2 main problems were in the bathroom. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain which was a bit gross. The shower head was impossible to tilt down therefore the water shot out horizontally, this was awkward.

When we got into our room, we discovered that the room had not been cleaned well at all from the previous people who had stayed in it. There were used mugs (with coffee and milk still in them) lying around, used slippers and towels still in the bathroom, as well as opened and used toiletries (I believe they were make up pads, didn't really want to touch and find out), and the iron was left out on the desk. The bed sheets weren't very big and didn't really cover the bed properly. As we were leaving we also realised there was also a brown stain on the wall behind the bed. Not good unfortunately, and surprising considering how nice the lobby and reception areas appeared downstairs, but the room did not live up to the expectations sadly.

Hotel smelled lovely. Most of the people working reception was kind and helpful... Unfortunately I had to ask twice for my shower to be looked at because it did not drain well most of my stay. Found discarded plastic under the sofa bed. Our room had no drinking water, shower caps or even footwear like the other rooms. I loved the location but there can be improvements in service.

At first glance, the hotel looks nice, but the furnishings and finishes were rather poor quality and showing signs of wear. The lobby bathrooms were always dirty, and our room had about 6" of dust on the shower vent that we had to report to the staff to clean. Plus, the tub was dirty (we didn't even think of using it), the toilet area smelled of urine the entire time of our stay, and dust was hanging from the ceiling over our bed. The breakfast buffet kicked us out as soon as the hours over. The other restaurant had an extremely limited menu. Plus, we were yelled at for eating outside food in the lobby (even though the hotel restaurant had already stopped serving.) There were three of us staying in our room, and we had no space to eat in there. Plus, the fitted sheet did not tuck in on the top, and the bare mattress kept being exposed which is completely unsanitary. I also do not recommend if you are planning on visiting the city center a lot since it is a bit of a trek to get there.

Public common areas were nice and clean. Room bedding was good but curtains were filled with bugs and bug eggs. A/C was not great. Looks like room service does bare minimums. If you more a sofa or remotely look around the room in less obvious areas you’ll notice tons of filth. However, overall not a bad little place.

Mohammed at the desk was great. Inability to talk to hotel was frustrating from moment one. Expedia was not helpful there either. Could not adjust anything and though I told them well ahead one room would leave one day early there was no willingness to give credit…though we had 7 people for 6 nights. Nights were impossible to cool despite being cold outside. Needed a fan plus windows open to be bearable. That was for all 4 rooms. Also have two elevators to get from room to hotel exit.

Good location for Excel and surrounding dockland venues. Our room was quiet. We could open the window but there was noise from the nearby airport. Looking out on to a stony vista. Strange layout in our twin room as the loo was located around the corner from the bathroom which had a separate shower and bath. Staying here suited our needs, so if all you need is a bed for the night I would recommend

Overall, this is an OK hotel. Pretty much what you would expect for a typical Novotel. Depending on the time of year (and potential events happening at the Excel), I have found room rates between £100 & £300. The issue for me is the lack of proper air conditioning. The controls in the bedrooms have little affect on the temperature (summer or winter). The result is an extremely hot & stuffy room, with a small window that only opens a small amount. I have stayed several times and always reported the issue, but it hasn't changed. As a result, our company will now be using an alternative hotel for future stays.

Dated to 90s Dining room in morning cannot deal with breakfast rush/crush as everything in same crowded space Bar service so slow, watched a cocktail being mixed over 10 minutes, request by other customer for salt and vinegar for food met with strange look and 5 minute wait to find vinegar in dish and no way of serving it

Perfect walking distance to the Motorbike show at the Excel. Was in room 725 and just could NOT get the room warm even with the travel fans I always pack with me running all day and night!

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Great location for Excel. The room was big enough for two with all the facilities fitted in a relatively small space. The bed was firm, which was okay for me, but my wife was not a fan. The restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was good. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and good quality food.

This hotel was roomy for a London hotel. Very convenient for us to be a short walk to restaurants and the cable car to the O2 arena. Conveniently located near Excel and the Elizabeth Line railway, which took us to Heathrow Airport any many tourist attractions without having to change trains. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Maid service daily

Great stay for concert at o2, the hotel was clean and convenient, breakfast was good too (extra charge for a breaky) few minutes walk to ride the cable car to the o2, very scenic and free if you have a concert ticket 😃😃😃

The hotel is airy, clean and quiet. The bedrooms are large modern and clean. The problem was at breakfast I had to wait an age to get an egg, the staff couldn't keep up with the demand. Also on the last morning, there was no hot water in the entire hotel so had to have a freezing cold shower. Not impressed as this is not a cheap hotel.

Perfectly good hotel conveniently located for the Excel. We did not sleep due to the heat in the room which we had no control over. We had not been informed that there was work or issues with the heating system. Was disappointed with my main course at dinner which was not served with the baby new potatoes as per the menu description. Instead, without asking me, it came with a rather bizarre potato cake which I was told had vegetables in it but did in fact contain olives. My husband tasted it & declared it not at all nice. I was not offered an alternative.

Great location for excel and O2 arena. Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming as are most of the bar staff apart from one lady. Very rude and abrupt! Nice size rooms with lovely toiletries. Breakfast was ok but not very fresh and limited options for vegans even though I added it to reservation. Well maintained and clean beds would be better with a mattress protector. Would stay here again.

In general the hotel was fantastic very nice room ,bar and restaurant I was shocked at cost of breakfast at £21.50 per adult when our gourmet burger for our evening meal was only £12.95 which seemed a big difference although all the food was very nice and the outdoor area was great for an evening drink in the sunshine Room was a great size and well presented and Morden although could have been a bit cleaner in bathroom Overall for location to get in and out of London it was great and a good base to explore and service was generally good
