I don't know where to start—maybe with the check-in experience, which hadnt acknowledged my notes and messages sent a week earlier. I needed a double queen on the first floor for my mom's spinal surgery, fearing the elevator would jolt her, which it did. The agent then offered me a handicap room on the 2nd floor for the inconvenience, after she couldn't figure out how to assign it stated that it wasn't available. I was able to pull it up and told her that she needed to review her inventory because it was infact showing available. She ignored me. The 'buffet' was a basic hot breakfast with limited options. The room had a yellow toilet and bath from the early 2000s, with chipped paint and shoddy caulking. The halls smelled of marijuana, and staff seemed untrained—they couldn't even process a pantry charge despite a $100 incidental hold. The business center computer was down, and the room was being used for storage. I had a DND sign on my door and asked housekeeping for fresh linens, but they did not have clean linens yet. I told the front desk I would pick up clean linens later. When I returned, the agent had no clue about my request and could only locate one washcloth, one hand towel, and one bath towel. I gave up and went back to my room, wondering if I had entered a time capsule of outdated hotel standards. Do yourself a favor: pay the extra and stay with a Hilton, IHG, or Marriott that you know has QA inspections. I'm still kicking myself; I knew better.

Staff was friendly and polite. Bathroom was outdated. Breakfast was a disaster. It looked like the last stand on Fiji. Counter covered with cereal, they ran out of eggs, sausage looked like it was left over from the day before. Generally a mess. I turned around and left, I lost my appetite when I saw the conditions. No warning the TV was not working, even though the desk knew it. At least the AC worked okay. I won't be going back.

Hotel is reasonably priced. The location is perfect in Lakeland, near everything. About 20-25min drive to the city of Memphis. The room was poorly cleaned, the fridge still had drinks for prior customer, the shower had hair, but the a/c was very cold which was great for the summer. The middle elevator was out of order so we had to walk down the long hallway after using the other elevator on the other side of the hotel. The ice machine on upstairs was also out of order. Which was a bummer in the middle of summer. Also, some folks may live there so be mindful of that. 5/10 stay.
