Stayed 9 nights

I will start with the positive on this location. The house was clean. The issues with this rental aredoors not closing ex. bedroom and bathroom doesn’t stay closed/locked. Front window blind is broken and the lights from the street across the road shine in all night. The road is very noisy. When we arrive there was 1/2 roll of paper towels and 1/2 roll of TP no extra supplies. The furniture or lack of furniture was garage sale or thrift store. The only chair designated for the living room had a spring stick out the bottom. One dresser for two bedroom, closets had one hanger each-haha The kitchen had enough dishes for two people but could use extra. The septic system needs to be pumped out or replaced because it smells very bad. It has potential but many issues need fixing. I would not recommend this location.

Good location. Pet friendly. Maybe add some more seating in the great room.

Although I don't routinely write reviews, I do love to write positive reviews. I have never had to write a negative review of a stay at Vrbo. I don't want to completely slam the property because that isn't fair, but there are just plenty of things that if they were fixed, it would be a wonderful property. Not correcting the problems I would say, do not stay at this property. The biggest issue was a lack of privacy. It is a two bedroom cottage, but our bedroom door was so warped our door could not be closed - you could easily see into our bedroom. The most the door would close there was as much as an inch of an opening - not ideal for changing or privacy while in bed. The first night Vrbo had me send a video showing the problem and they merely said I had to deal with the host. The cottage is incredibly sparse with not enough seating. With two bedrooms, the cottage sleeps four, yet there isn't enough seating. The living room has a small sofa that seats two and there is one chair. There are dead bugs (cockroaches). The back seating area has hanging lights that are as low as waist high - to walk under them you have lift the hanging lights over your head. There are a couple of the glass lights that are broken with exposed sharp edges of broken glass. The bathtub was clogged - while taking a shower, the tub would fill with water. All these issues are easily corrected if the host/property manage would take care of it.

We were in Hoover for a youth baseball tournament. The house was clean and well maintained. It was centrally located for all of the baseball venues where we played. It had easy and quick access to the freeway. We would definitely reserve the house for future events. Communicating with the property manager and owner were quick and easy.
