A really beautiful looking hotel inside and out. Limited parking at the front but there is parking to the rear. You can park outside on the road only at the weekend as there’s restrictions in place for weekdays. Room was lovely. Bed was very comfy. Didn’t eat in restaurant but we had breakfast in it and it’s a lovely setting. Nicely done. Breakfast was great. Continental to start and you order a hot breakfast which is cooked fresh to order. Great selection and good quality too. Only a 20 min walk to the start of Union Street. For bars and restaurants. There are a few other hotels with bars along from the hotel which had outdoor seating and looked really nice to sit and relax. Nice area. We would stay here again.

The Malmaison is set in the heart of Aberdeen within walking distance of the city centre . It has a unique boutique vibe and has had a recent lavish refurbishment. The restaurant is very popular and can be very busy at the weekend in particular so be sure to book. The one slight drawback is that there is limited parking onsite and lots of parking restrictions in the area .

Our room was spotless and we loved the Arran soaps. The bar was excellent and the food in the restaurant was first class. Claudia at reception was brilliant and really made check-in/out easy for us.

Our stay overall was great. The only reason we never gave it 5 was that we were in a newly refurbished room and it appeared there were some teething issues due to this but nothing too serious. Firstly the fridge wasn’t working yet. We’re told about this upon check in and told we had to call for an ice bucket which we got promptly. Again was fine but would have been nice to have a working fridge. Secondly I think most of the refurbishment had taken place in the bathroom as there were visible signs or work having been done due to some marks on the floor which stopped us giving a 5 for cleanliness. Also, the baths hot water never got too hot, wasn’t cold but Luke warm at best. Strange as the shower and tap water got hot fine. Thirdly, due to the refurbishment, the tv wasn’t set up/ working when we first got into room. However did manage to fix this after a few minutes by working on the cabling. All in all, very small minor issues which in all honesty didn’t really affect our stay. Would definitely stay again and likely will be back. All staff members we encountered were great, particularly the bar staff at the bar. Were quickly and and continually checking in for more drinks etc. Breakfast each morning was also great. Good variety of choices and cooked breakfast was freshly made and tasty! Will be back to stay again.

Malmaison is always a bit of a gamble. On the one hand I like the dark decor and cosy feel to their hotels. On the other, I find some of the features a little bizarre. On this occasion, it wasn’t the best of experiences. The worst aspect was my bedroom: an interconnecting door and my neighbours up until >3am talking and cracking open cans. The bizarre aspect was that in such a huge room, that interconnecting door (with zero soundproofing) was right near the head-end of my bed. I was half-tempted to sleep in the living room area. In addition I was frustrated with switches that didn’t seem to do anything, other switches that you couldn’t reach from the bed, lights that were either all off or all on (can hotels please use dimmers and lights that can be independently switched on or off), outside balcony lights I couldn’t turn off, gaps in the curtains, huge double shower area but no door (I personally don’t like open shower areas…reminds me of school showers!) and bed sheets that didn’t fit properly and had (small) holes in. All in all, frustrating and disturbed stay. I wouldn’t rule out another stay here, but I wouldn’t stay in the Balmoral room again, and would definitely not have a room with an interconnecting door.

We had an incredible view of the city around us, with the ocean even off in the distance. Staff was wonderful, breakfast in our room was amazing. Will definitely come back if we’re ever in Scotland again. Bathroom was so awesome, couldn’t have asked for more

Loved our stay at Malmaison Aberdeen only one problem the heating in the room was not working. I called the reception but no answer. Apart from that we really enjoyed our overnight, we sat in the bar where we met a lovely couple . The Bar service was really good, enjoyed a cosy mulled wine on the comfy sofas.

We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was a wonderful surprise. The room was stunning we had never been anywhere so nice. The soaking tub was the cherry on top.

Simply THE best hotel in Aberdeen. Rooms are just wonderful and the food amazing. Staff can’t do enough for you. Special shout out to Amanda, who just always goes above and beyond. This is my fourth stay in under a year and my automatic go to from now on.

Our room wasn't available until 4pm and we were asked to wait in the bar. However the receptionist kindly brought a voucher for a prosecco/beer each. Reception staff friendly but no info re. room forthcoming at check-in and I was just handed the door access card. I had to ask about breakfast times and where we had to go. Room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and staff there were great. I handed in door access cards at check-out with no dialogue from reception other than enjoy your day. Other guests seemed to be having a different experience to us in regards to reception check-in and out.

What a disappointment. This is clearly a hotel which relies on the Corporate customer and relies on the fact that patrons are not having to pay out of their own pocket. I was staying as a non business guest and was shocked at the attitude and unhelpfulness of the staff. Furthermore, and quite coincidentally, this is a hotel that does not accept cash in any way, shape or form. I say this because my stay started on the day of the outages in Spain and Portugal when the digital world ground to a halt. To add salt to the wound, they insist on card payments up front to cover your entire stay i.e. they took £50 per night from my card irrespective of whether I was going to spend any money in the hotel or not. Accessing the hotel to begin with was incredibly difficult as I was carrying an injury which staff knew about. This involved having to negotiate a spiral staircase with luggage. I raised this as an issue and the manageress arrived at reception addressing me as 'dear' which she continued to do throughout my brief and shortened stay. General indifference and lack of friendliness was common among all staff apart from the night porter who was very pleasant and helpful. The Breakfast experience was also very disappointing due to staff issues and the attitude of the Breakfast Service 'Manager'. I wrote to Malmaison to give them the right to reply prior to submitting my review and I received a voicemail saying that they had received my feedback and wanted to discuss. No further call.

Amanda at reception at check in was wonderfully helpful at finding us the room as I had inadvertently booked the wrong date. She was understanding and cheerful. She deserves a big thank you. Also the food was delicious in the restaurant and staff delightful. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel is quiet, the bed is amazing, the bedding is worth a mention because it’s top quality and hard to beat. The staff in the restaurant are top notch as well. My only complaint is the two ladies who checked us in wouldn’t give me an invoice even though I paid at the hotel. They wouldn’t give it because I made the booking on hotels.com. I advised them I do this weekly and that’s not how it works. Eventually I gave up and came back after shift change. The kindest most warm hearted who works night shift assisted me with no problems in the least.

The hotel itself is beautiful—stylish rooms, great location, and excellent room service staff. Unfortunately, the front desk and customer service left a lot to be desired. I tried to book directly, but the hotel’s website was down. When I called the reservations office, I was disconnected—and when I tried again the next morning, they were closed until 10am. I ended up having to book through a third party. At check-in, I expressed my frustration and asked if they would honor the “member rate” listed on their site, which included a discounted dinner, breakfast, and late checkout. I was told curtly that there’s no such thing as a membership—despite that being the term used on their own website. There was no assistance with luggage, and the directions to the rear parking were vague. Though the setting was lovely and dinner was enjoyable, we skipped breakfast and chose another spa for the rest of our stay due to the poor front desk and reservation experience. Sadly, Malmaison Aberdeen has lost my confidence. I won’t be returning.

My main issue with the hotel is that they did not inform me of the restaurant opening times when i checked in at 20:30pm. I went and showered and by the time I arrived for dinner at 21:10 they advised the restaurant was closed, despite knowing that i was eating in, as the discussion was had at reception. Really poor service from the staff at the Malmaison. My other dissatisfaction was around the bathroom tap not working and being unable to swap room as the hotel was full. I had to brush my teeth with the bath tap and wash my hands in there. Far from ideal! The room are good and comfortable, i must say that.

You can park outside on the road only at the weekend as there’s restrictions in place for weekdays. Room was lovely. Bed was very comfy. Didn’t eat in restaurant but we had breakfast in it and it’s a lovely setting. Nicely done. Breakfast was great. Continental to start and you order a hot breakfast which is cooked fresh to order. Great selection and good quality too. Only a 20 min walk to the start of Union Street. For bars and restaurants. There are a few other hotels with bars along from the hotel which had outdoor seating and looked really nice to sit and relax. Nice area. We would stay here again.

Quite a comfortable stay although others in our party had rooms available before ours even though we arrived at the hotel hours before they did. Hotel was quite accommodating. Parking was not available our first night there so someone had to get up before 8 am to move the car. After that, no issues with finding a hotel spot. Was an easy walk to city center and had great bus service with a stop right in front of the hotel. Hotel restaurant was good and there were other great restaurant options nearby for variety. Staff were wonderful.

The hotel is with easy walking distance of the city centre and has a large carpark at the rear. Although the hotel is in the heart of Aberdeen it is very quiet.

The Malmaison is always our go to stay in Aberdeen. Outstanding in every way from check-in to check-out. Staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our suite was clean and luxurious, meals are very good, and one of the comfiest beds I've slept in. Had many stays now and simply can't find fault. Nice quite area 10mins walk, few mins drive from city centre and all amenities. Very reasonable price for the quality of accommodation. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our 2 night stay, although I did have a couple of small issues. One was that the refrigerator didn’t work, and when I reported it to the front desk clerk, she simply replied “they don’t”. Why have refrigerators that don’t work. Also the lighting is not very good. I felt like I was trying to put on makeup in the dark. Downtown is not really within walking distance either.

Great hotel with friendly staff, good quality restaurant and nice bar. Ideally located for meetings with nearby companies during my stay. Club room was perfect for my business stay and the staff were helpful in securing the same room as I had to extend my stay for extra nights. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the city centre or 5 minute taxi journey, but the quality of the accommodation makes it worth the extra effort.

Very welcoming and helpful on reception, room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Bar was very efficient and competent at cocktails. Breakfast was very good, cooked food promptly served and a good choice of other items, only room for improvement was the choke point of the self-service coffee machine at which there was frequently a queue.

First time staying at this hotel. The hotel is lovely and as soon as you walk in the front door you realise you are somewhere special. The staff in all areas were welcoming and friendly and the room was a good size and comfortable. Breakfast was good quality and we dined there one evening and the food was well prepared and served and very enjoyable. The only downside for us was that the room was very cold. We did mention this to reception and they adjusted it but it did not make any difference. Despite that we would have no hesitation in going back.

A little gem in Aberdeen. Really enjoyed my one night stay - staff were excellent from check in to check out. Bar and outdoor seating area very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. No complaints and would definitely stay agin. Well done all

Excellent choice for a short stay. We were upgraded to a suite which was a nice touch. Only downside is that the restaurant does not serve lunch Monday to Wednesday. Food and bar service were excellent however

Our room was spotless and we loved the Arran soaps. The bar was excellent and the food in the restaurant was first class. Claudia at reception was brilliant and really made check-in/out easy for us.

Beds were comfortable Breakfast was really tasty The only issue we had is we parked at the car park at the back and the only way to get to the hotel reception was up some steep stairs at the side of the building or a long spiral staircase. My mum who’s 76 really struggled with the spiral stairs and her case. :( have a buzzer entry system here so people can get in and use the lift.
