The property was suitable for our plans and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The property continues to go through refurbishment where we had to move rooms three times due to issues with windows and aircon, even the third room had issues with the aircon unit and TV but we’d given up by this point. The communal areas are fresh and use of the pool next door was also great for the kids.

Room was ok, spacious and had what we needed for one night. However the restaurant wasn’t open on a Sunday night and the availability of drinks at the bar was limited. There was an issue with the heating in some rooms too. Not sure I’d rush to stay here again.

Friendly staff. Charge of £6 per night for parking which wasn’t there on previous visit, think this is shocking for a hotel. Bar area freezing cold, no atmosphere, limited food menu. Intended to eat there but had one drink and left to go over the road. Room comfortable.

The room condition was poor and not as advertised. The phone was broken, the room wasn’t clean. The only resolution presented was to another room; which equally had the same problems. We won’t be staying here again and I’d avoid at all costs. It’s a shame that the service at the front desk didn’t really seem to care much about the situation and that lack of customer service has resulted in this poor review.

Overall yes very clean the bath tub was marked but they provided a bath mat that covered it . The duty manager had told us he would change it but we were in a rush to go to a appointment so he gave us a feee breakfast voucher which was kind of him

The room was clean but the bathroom could do with an upgrade. We stayed on the ground floor and there was a very odd smell in the corridor and our room. Breakfast was adequate but the cold section had meat and cheese that looked like it had been sitting out for too long. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good location and parking was easy. Initial room we were given was dirty with facial hair in the sink and the carpet was filthy with several white pills on the floor which was especially concerning as I was travelling with two small children. Guest services were helpful and apologetic and did move us to another room and left some treats for the kids which they enjoyed.

This hotel has huge potential but not a great stay at all.Room on the surface was clean but lots of dust unclean corners. No air conditioning in the room and when 4 people in a room during August led to a vet uncomfortable night little sleep. Not body wash and Bath was blocked when trying to shower which was grim.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years, but the overall experience seems to get a little worse every time. The room I was first given smelt horrendously of sick. The type of sick smell when someone has drank too much. I went to reception to ask for a change. The receptionist was very pleasant and prompt in swapping my room, but said “oh we had a big Christmas party last night”….. This is no excuse. In my second room there was a finger nail by the sink. If was very obvious! The curtains didn’t close and the carpet was dirty.

The hotel is beautiful ! It has kept its art deco style beautifully .we had a double bed bedroom which faced the front -this room was immaculately clean and had bath robes etc in there too . The breakfast was plentiful and really tasty ! The staff across the whole hotel were really helpful and we were welcomed with a smile by everyone !

Great hotel close to the airport with great transport links good food and drinks in the bar and close to a number of shops will be staying again. We did have some noise from aircraft but we did pay for the runway view loved every min of it.

A 2 night stay for work, this was a central location and worked well. Sadly the air con was not working and the room had no opening windows. A fan was supplied, but still quite stuffy in the room Bar service was a bit slow, but food was delicious. No noise from the airport at all All in all a good stay

Hotel is located inside the former airport terminal. The wifi was next to non existent most of my stay. This has been a problem for the hotel over many months an years I was told by staff. Instead of installing boosters in the rooms they do mini fixes. I won't stay here again unless it gets a proper fix

Was here two years ago and the place was wonderful. Well maintained, comfortable and the food/services were exceptional. Returned this summer and everything seemed run down. Rooms showing wear, no air conditioning and internet was spotty. The people are still great, but the hotel needs some tlc.

The hotel staff are so lovely, food is pretty good, service is good, and having access to David Lloyd next door is great. But not having the air conditioning in the rooms is grim. One desk fan for a family room with 4 people and a dog is just not adequate and they couldn’t offer additional fans. It’s such a shame as otherwise it could be great

Love the character of the hotel however on check in the receptionist seemed not to know what she was doing. Another man advised the air con was not working throughout the hotel but advised there would be a fan in the room. We were actually given a heater not at a fan. At 4pm I advised the first receptionist who said she would arrange a fan. This didn’t happen, and I had to go to reception at 3am begging for a fan as the room was way too hot. I was first told they had none but then was given one from a vacant room. This should not have happened. Upon going for breakfast (which I booked with the first receptionist) this was not booked the lady in the breakfast area had to sort this out. All in all I really like the hotel but service was definitely poor and nothing like what we received last year.

Matthew was on Reception again this Christmas when I arrived on Christmas Eve - he was so kind and helpful to me, as I was in a complete state having left my case in London!! Great service from him and the room service chap. Im afraid i left without tipping, to my regret. I hope to see you again next Christmas (in a calmer state!) when i will rectify.

We had trouble checking in and out, slow service at dinner (and was also told the Steak Frittes didn’t come with fries when it clearly states it does) and had to clear our own table in the bar to be able to sit down. Would not recommend or stay again.

Due to problems elsewhere arrived late at hotel to be told we had been put as a no show. There was no phone call or text to warn us about this. It took a lengthy time to get the room reinstated. Other than that it was excellent.

My room had terrible wi-fi and was incredibly noisy. Ruined further when the next room had their TV on ridiculously loud. I phoned reception and asked them to deal with it they said they would call and clearly didn't. Just lied to me. A sleepless night with a 5:30 AM start... thanks for that!

The staff are all friendly and helpful, but their training is lacking. While I was eating breakfast a member of staff sprayed the table next to me to clean it, filling the air with cleaning spray (you should spray the cloth then wipe the table). My dinner was served in a deep bowl rather than on a plate making it difficult to eat, and was placed on a glass table without a placemat which mean it was slipping around. The food was good and my room was comfortable, and all of the staff were helpful, but some basic training is definitely needed.

Honestly this was a very pleasant stay that exceeded expectations. Hotel was warm and welcoming. Service was excellent- reception staff welcoming and Lily in the bar/restaurant was very friendly. Breakfast staff were efficient and very polite and nothing was too much trouble.

Quiet, comfortable 2 night stay with vintage ambiance near Liverpool airport & shops. Buses at door for City Centre & Anfield Stadium. Great breakfast & friendly, helpful staff throughout. Clean rooms. Breakfast the only issue. Charging 12.00 but at no time was there all dishes available. Most of the time no eggs or toast. Coffee machine now as they don’t serve your drinks unless you order a pot of tea. Need extra coffee machine if you expect 50-100 guests to help themselves to coffee ! Common sense should prevail. Apart from breakfast rest of staff , room and bar area all excellent.

The Art Deco building is fantastic and the rooms are good quality and comfortable. They do need to sort out the service levels however as the breakfast room is often in chaos and never attended when arriving
