Madison Inn and Suites

Please DO NOT stay here! I wish I had read the “real” reviews before booking this sketchy dump! I wouldn’t have stayed even if it was free. I have never in my life seen or experienced a place that calls itself hotel this horrible. The pictures must be super old because they don’t match the actual property. The pool was gross, the so called gym was full of mattresses. I had two beds and both of them had cigarette holes on the sheets. This place looks abandoned and like it shouldn’t be used for business at all. The parking lot was pretty big but empty. I didn’t see one person checking in or leaving while I was there. I saw a couple of shady looking men walking the hallways but that’s it. No one was ever at the desk. There is a sign instructing you to call them. I had to call every time I needed something. I will say one positive thing, the two ladies that helped were accommodating. I didn’t complain about how disappointed I was with this place because once I read the reviews I knew it wouldn’t matter. They are only using a handful of rooms on the first floor, upstairs is vacant. There is a building in the back that is vacant as well. It has to be a front for something else because there is no way they can keep the doors open via hotel stays. It’s beyond a dump! The five star reviews are being posted by them, do not believe!

The property was in such disarray. The outside of the property barely had proper lighting when unloading your vehicle. It was pitch dark and very unsafe! The entryway to the upstairs was so dirty and unkepted even with improper lighting you could see debris everywhere! The lighting in the hall was not even good. The room across from our room was missing the door and it appears they were in the middle of demolishes. Our room was so disappointing. The comforter was nasty had what appeared to be blood stains and the sheets were not clean, they had cigarettes burns and a white suspicious stain that appeared to male bodily fluids. I should have left immediately but it was extremely late to locate new arrangements and I didn’t want to loose my money I had paid online to reserve and have to pack up and move to another facility. Very nice size king room with a refrigerator and a microwave clean bedding and new sheets it is close to Huntsville airport by car but dont believe there is a shuttle The lobby is big enough to have a small grille or cafe but instead they have coffee urns out most of the day and give you a to go breakfast bag...the pool was closed in April still and the grounds need alot or work and landscaping to look better but then again my nice king room was only $69 with taxes so Bravo it was a great stay to sleep overnight!!!!

Pool furniture is broken an delapidated. Broken glass inside the corridors where unused conference areas once were. The smell of mold throughout and not a single clean surface except the check in desk. There was trash under the room vanity and leftover food in the fridge. Dirt and debris on the floors and in every corner of the room. There were grimy handprints everywhere on walls, mirrors, doors and virtually everywhere.

Friendly staff however not the cleanest place or most serene. Renovations going on everywhere so a lot of traffic, dirt and dust being tracked in from every which way, multiple fire alarms beeping needing new batteries, and side access doors are loud upon entry and exit.

Checked in around 10:30 pm note at front desk call for service. Took mins for someone to come after calling and they were not competent with the check-in process. No cart for bags no direction from staff where room located. Key didn't work to access side door entrance closer to room. The "included breakfast" there was none. No ice both machines were broken. The room...Dead bug on the floor &bed spread. no towels in the room mini fridge stopped working day 1. Pool had rocks in the bottom. And around midnight it sounded like there has active construction load banging down the hall.

No power

This is a tired and bare dones property, but well located for my visit to Madison. Plusses: Clean, inexpensive, ample parking, near attractions, interstate and services. Minuses: This is a run down property. Paper thin walls, no amenities except two vending machines, no clerk at checkout, tired mattress (but clean) , deadbolt wouldn't lock, hvac and bathroom fan very loud, halls echo. I would stay there again, but not with family. It was clean.

I like the key card entry to building

No bath linen. No phone. Trash cans propping open security doors and hookers yelling at each other in the hallway. I wish I was kidding. Asked for a refund and left.

DO NOT stay here unless you don't care about cleanliness. You have to pay but the roaches stay for free!! Sheets were dirty, wash clothes and towels look to be as old as the building. Luckily I had other options of places to stay.

The room I got was dirty and in disrepair. Only one light in the room worked beside the bathroom. Sheets didn’t look like they had been change from previous guest. Floors were visibly dirty and trash was on the floor behind the toilet and around the room. No toilet paper at all in the room. Ceiling above the shower had been patched and it was starting to come loose and sag. I had the room reserved for two days and didn’t bother staying the second. I’d rather sleep in my car

Dirty clumps all over the floor. Dirty used pillows, it smelled, the halls had debris everywhere, and our tv didn't work. He was going to bring us another TV but just declined the stay.

After traveling 11 hours I arrive at the Madison Inn and Suites. The property condition is absolutely terrible. Not as depicted in the pictures. The hotel is extremely unsanitary. Upon checking in my room was not ready and the receptionist asked the manager what to do because they did not have any more clean sheets in the hotel. The manager told the receptionist to tell housekeeping to just fold them up. Right in front of me. The manager told told me that my room would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Almost two hours later my room was still not ready. I went to the restroom and poop was just sitting in the toilet, the other stall was nasty and trash overflowing, both sinks filled with dirty debris, crust on the walls, holes in the ceiling leaking water. Called Expedia and the rep was polite but told me that I could not get a refund because of the hotels no refund policy. I refused to stay there and booked a better hotel through Expedia.

I knew I had made a mistake when I walked into the lobby and it smelt like stale cigarettes. The room felt grimy and smelled. I pulled back the covers to check for bedbugs and found a big greasy stain on the sheets. The manager was very helpful and offered other rooms but the other one reeked of smoke. After I saw a man with a balding mullet without a shirt I left immediately. I did not feel safe or comfortable. There was no way I would get in that bed. After I left I felt like I had to take a shower right away. Do not go here. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to stay here.

The entire building smelled like stale cigarette smoke, everything was dirty. I killed a total of 4 cockroaches in my room during my stay. The front desk person was nice, but that was the only good thing about this stay. I noticed other rooms had a do not disturb sign, however I did not get one, so on my first day, I had room service pound on my door at 8am, not wait for a response, and burst into my room. Will not recommend or return to this hotel.

There were several bed bugs crawling on the bed. Showed videos and pictures.

ROCHES !!!! No clean sheets !!! Dirty AF would not come change my bedding and after I called Expedia because they said I would have to talk to third party they did nothing to HELP. My kids and I had an awful experience

The key to the room and outside door didn’t work but staff were quick to help me. I was beside a room with a family with loud noisy children until 10 pm. There was no breakfast. These are the negatives about my stay.

Old hotel, not so comfortable atmosphere. NO amenities. Air conditioner in room broken. Staff was nice.

I liked my room. It was clean and modern. I never got woken up by noise. I did deduct one star though, because the pillows were about as thick as cotton candy.

the property was under heavy construction. In terrible physical condition. Sheets were worn out with pilling. Only 1 light in entire room. Just plain beat up.

I stayed in a Renovated Room; new cheap towel and small towel, wash cloth and hand towel. There were NO lights in the room other than the restroom. I reported it as soon as opened the door. I was told that Maintenance would provide me a lamp, or I would be moved - neither happened. It was Not worth the cost...

It was not very good as our room the refrigerator didnt work nor did the tv and was told maint was going to bring us a different fridge and nobidy ever showed up to dealnwith either one and the front desk was awate of the situation.

The front desk worker was very friendly and accommodating, but that's where the positive things stopped. I expected a budget hotel. However, while I wouldn't say my room was "dirty," it was not tidy. Also, there are no hairdryers provided, so just be aware. There was no trash can in the room, the tub faucet leaked, the walls are paper thin. There is no carpeting in the hallway, so you hear everything when people pass by. Large home-sized trash bins were located in the hallway just outside my door for some reason, and they were filled up with trash. Also, they advertise breakfast, but the only thing provided was packets of instant oatmeal and hot water. I have a high tolerance for budget hotels, but I wish I hadn't stayed here.

I had to check out after one night due to a loud party. I got 2 hours of sleep then had to drive home. I went and checked out and the said they would cancel my reservation and and comp me for the night I was there. Since I booked with Expedia they said I had to go through them for my refund. Well no one will answer the phone to verify the cancellation. And now I get a review request. I hope this was not a scam. If you want a hotel to stay I. That is not full of shady people partying make sure you pick another hotel. Also when we went I to the room, there was water on the floor, the safety lock on the door broken People were hanging outside our bedroom window all night. I was so disappointed. I thought we had satisfactory resolved everything. But ai guess not.

Staff wasn’t there stood at the counter for like 15 mins it gave me a number to call but no one answered very unprofessional.

The hotel is under remodeling. No continental breakfast as promised. No maid service. Limited staff. Workers all over the hotel. Is going to be nice when completed. For now, I would not recommend it.

First of all Walt was very kind and amazing and trying to assist us with the room that we booked. The hotel was in terrible condition it wasn't safe it didn't feel safe around parking the hallways it was like a trap hotel. There were roaches dost balls seem like somebody just left the room you know it's not good when you don't even have coffee or ironing board iron simple things like a hair dryer nothing at all and one trash can The windows you can look outside you see people in the picnic area smoking chilling smoking weed whatever I wouldn't stay there even if it was free.

Very friendly staff

Walter, who checked me in, was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. There was a glitch in the computer system but he quickly worked around that and got me into my room right away even though he needed more time to resolve the problem. The refrigerator in my room was broken, but he immediately got me into another room. He’s great at his job.

No body at the desk. There's a number on the desk to call. Called like 6 times. No answer. After finding another hotel. Went back there next day. Talked the gentleman, this gentlemen Wouldn't give me any notice or signage of me having a room. And said I need to contact the GM come Monday.

the rooms wasn't ready, there was only 2 people on staff the lady at the front was multi-tasking at the best of her ability , doing check-ins, front desk , taking in cleaning supplies , housekeeping and check outs etc.. I cancelled my room and searched for other available rooming elsewhere

The lady at the front desk was very rude. The room was need of a remodle i chose not to stay and got another room

We were very happy and satisfied with every aspect of our stay. It began with a warm and sincere welcome from Mason at the front desk. He was so genuinely happy to assist us. He made us feel like family. Thank you, Mason!!!

We enjoyed are night there we stay there once or twice a yr and it’s within distance to get out and enjoy the evening

Lots of shady folks hanging around. Soon after check-in someone banged on my door. When I opened they said they thought room was empty. Said he was from front desk. Later about 9 pm, two guys banged on my door and said they have my key. I had a key and told them to leave. I will never stay in this dump again.

When my daughter and I first arrived the police were arresting someone. When we entered the building it smelled like straight marijuana. Then we go into the room and its disgusting. You could definitely tell the beds had not been cleaned or changed in months I'm sure!! We were extremely uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. The place and people surrounding it sitting on the sidewalk outside was scary. There was no way I would have stayed there another minute especially with my daughter being with me. We were truly afraid. The only good thing I can say is the woman at the front gave me my money back when I told her we were leaving because we were not comfortable staying there.

I liked the price. I didn't like having dirty laundry and no laundry. There was no coffee one morning and no Splenda. There was also bugs in the rooms. The staff however did give us silverware and bowls.

Property may be going renovations. There was NO breakfast as advertised. But overall the bed was comfortable and room was clean.

Remodeling. Lobby very nice. Room 145 no toilet paper, or holder. Only one towel. Hand towel was gray, not white, Room in general very worn. Cold breakfast. Staff very helpful I wish I would have spent more $$ for different motel. Not recommended until remodel complete Remol

Just needed a night alone. I was very comfortable but bummed that there was no coffee pot in the room. It was clean and at that point that’s all I needed.
