Comfort Inn Duluth West

Everything you could need from a hotel was provided, from a full breakfast selection to a sauna, pool, and hot tub. Additionally, my daughter got sick and threw up in the pool shower. I wish I knew the name of the woman who was the working the night of 6/21 because after my daughter got sick we went up to the front desk to alert staff that she had thrown up in the shower. The woman at the front desk was so kind and she cleaned up the mess. And she was just more concerned about my daughter feeling okay over anything else. She really made a stressful situation so much easier. Just so kind and helpful.

This hotel was a little drive from downtown, but it ended up being perfect. There is t much in the immediate area, but the hotel has a little bar, and the pool area was great. The staff was friendly, and everything was well-maintained. The morning breakfast was great!

Rooms/facility was clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast had many options, pool was clean, not overly chlorinated. Liked that the location was not in downtown, easy to find, easy parking, close to a lot of attractions. Quiet. The patio outside was nice as well.

Having the pool, hot tub, and sauna was a good variety. The staff was friendly and kind. The property, inside and outside, was well-maintained.

We loved the shuttle to Bentlyville, it was so convenient and made our stay in Duluth so much easier! We liked the breakfast provided, lots of options! We were able to check in a little early since our room was ready. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

This is a very nice Comfort Inn and ideal for checking out Duluth and the surrounding areas. The pool, hot tub and sauna are very nice amenities.

Great stay. Breakfast have different options each day. All good options. Pool was good too. Only hotel I know that had a sauna. Great stay!

Very clean hotel! Spacious rooms with comfy pillows. Bed was pretty firm. Beautiful big bathroom. Breakfast service was par for hotel continental breakfast: waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal or cereal options. Bar was closed Sunday night. Heated indoor pool and hot tub were lovely. Sauna was barely warm. Parking lot has some decent pot holes, but ample spaces to park.

We did all the check in online. So when we arrived we had less than 30 seconds interaction with staff. For that reason we cannot comment much about service. Still, one of the main reasons why we booked that hotel was because it mentioned on Hotels.com website it had a gym as one of the amenities and I am in training for a big race. We went to dinner and had 2 hours before bedtime so I had planned to use the gym after dinner. That is when I found out there is no gym in the hotel, but a partnership with a local gym. Another issue was the bathroom of our hotel room. It had hair on the floor and even a chewed bubble gum. It was filthy.

Property was easy to locate, good parking, clean for the most part; found wrappers in drawer and left over food item in fridge. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Unassuming exterior, but very nice and well-kept inside. Pool area, breakfast, and rooms all well-tended. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice, clean and quiet hotel!

The place was very clean. The staff was very good very fine. Comfort Inn is very good very very good.

Spent 300$ to send my daughter and fiancé there for a nice getaway. They found so much hair in the bed (not head hair) that they slept on the pull out sofa. Wish they had spoken up and refused to stay in the room.

No television for my entire stay, 4 days. Acceptable establishment, clean. Great staff, fairly good breakfast. Hot tub was out of service while I was there. Staff was not readily forthcoming about the lack of television. I wasn’t informed of the lack of television when I checked in. Several people checking out complained about it. For a room rate of over $200 it really is not acceptable to not have television. At least one should be informed on checking in, I was not!

Great breakfast, clean rooms! Bed was too hard for me

The property looks older, but I will say our room was very clean. The air conditioner barely worked and made horrible sounds at all times like something was broken. We actually left a day early because we couldn't sleep with the sound. There is a big pool and hot tub. Breakfast was your usual complimentary breakfast. The hotel isn't near canal park but also only a short drive to main attractions.

We enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great and my kids enjoyed the pool. We were disappointed that there was no cable, but the ability to use Netflix was great! We would definitely stay in the future if we are in the Duluth area.

All ok. Looks nice. Breakfast was good. Only real negative is the wall are paper thin. You can hear everything.

Everything was fine except the fridge didn’t work. The check-in person came and said it just doesn’t get very cold. I told her it’s not cooling at all. She said that’s just how they are. We ended up having to throw away a lot of food as it never cooled to a safe temp. It never actually worked.

We've stayed at this Comfort Inn every time we visit Duluth and have never been disappointed. However, we noticed although linens & towels are great the bed pillows have gotten very lumpy. I suggest bringing your own pillow as we do. Only other suggestion would be to move the coffee pot closer to bathroom sink!

My flight go in really late and from the airport I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to Duluth. The hotel called me and I called them back because I was on another line and didn’t recognize the number but no one answered. I tried 4 or 5 times and nothing not even an answering machine. When I got there the door was locked and there was a sign to call the front desk. I called twice and finally ended up banging on the door. Shortly afterward a guy came out from the direction of the first floor rooms. I told him about me calling and he said it was weird because he just stepped away and he was at the front desk all night. He the. Told me that the phones might be on silent??? I gave him my name and he told me that he was working on getting my room ready and I said doesn’t housekeeping take care of that before 3:00 check in. He said not to worry it would just take a second. I walked with hi to my room and it was clear that someone had been sleeping in my bed. The pillows were all disshuffled along with the covers on the left side of the bed. I told him that someone had been sleeping there and I would like a new room. He said he could do that but when he went to the computer he said he had two queen rooms for guest that haven’t arrived yet but it was 2:00 am by then. I was so tired I took the room and slept on the other side of the bed. This kid lied to my face because he never looked me in the eye when he was talking to me and his excuses were lame. This morning I shared the story w the mgr.

I was charged 3 times for same room and the general manager refuses to acknowledge her teams mistakes therefore refusing to make appropriate adjustments to my bank account. The general manager should be fired!!

The staff was excellent! Hotel was clean and breakfast was delicious!

Smokers stand right in front of exit doors to smoke, staff included Even with “do not disturb” on door, housekeeping entered anyway…took some of the used towels and bath mat, didn’t replace anything. Large sign in bathroom stating they would “only do housekeeping upon request” (so why was anyone in my room the very first morning I was there?) Uncomfortable.

This particular location is in a sort of “industrial” area and adjacent to a local “car show” area that has revving engines going late into the night on weekends. Very easy access to expressway, however, and only a 10-minute drive to any of Duluth’s sights.

We wanted to watch MAX and we’re not able to access it on the TV, when I called the front desk all he had me do was was reboot the black box. When this did not work all he said was. Well I don’t know what’s wrong then. Sorry. He did not offer to our room to see if he could help figure it out.

Every aspect of the hotel was pleasant. We were greeted warmly and checked in quickly. The room was beautiful. The breakfast was very good. Even the breakfast attendants and cleaning staff were so kind and professional. All staff seemed happy and did their jobs with care.

Good location for one night in town and continuing west. Some good restaurants a short drive away.

The description they give is misleading. The hotel is not new and it's in the middle of industrial factories. Nothing appealing about that area of Duluth.

The staff was decent. The property was certainly showing its age. Most things were scrapped up or dinged. Example … the Kleenex box in the restroom was rusting. The location absolutely leaves something to be desired. It’s an industrial area not far from the docks. The area does not make you feel safe and leaves you wondering if your car will still be there is the morning.

Right off 35. Not far from shopping and restaurants. 15 minute drive. Nice clean property. Would stay again.

Located right off the interstate so very convenient to hop on and off, however it is in an industrial area so that means there isn’t a lot of options right there except there is a Perkins right across the street and gas station on the next block, it’s a little drive to get to the canal and shopping areas. The hotel was very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. We were there 3 nights so it works well if you don’t want to be in the busiest part of town.

We like that it is centrally located.

I only need.a clean quiet place to sleep. This location was very good! Have to say this breakfast was best of any hotels we have stayed in.

Very clean throughout with nice, modern decor. Rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. It wasnt appreciated that they charge a $15.00 fee for an hour late checkout which I have never had a hotel do before. Usually hotels give you an hour courtesy late check-out, free of charge, with no questions asked. The pool and hot tub area was nice, and the temperature of pool was perfectly warm enough to get right in! Nice breakfast area with a good breakfast.

Breakfast should include more healthy options

Very convenient location to many things. Friendly informative staff. Clean rooms. Can be some highway noise if you stay in certain rooms depending on where you stay in the building-others are perfectly quiet. Good breakfast selection and coffee set up in lobby. I do wish the hotel bar was open on more than just weekends, that would have been nice. The pool/hot tub area is very nice.
