No sound proof windows and night life right outside meant nonstop police and fire fighter sirens. We were on the 10th floor and heard everything as if on the 1st. Elevators were not working and there was zero urgency to fix them. They had no functional restaurant which meant no available room service of any type even as simple of having water available or utensils. Of course they didn’t have a coffee or water stand. Room Lights would randomly flicker. Tv was from the 90s and would randomly change channels back to guide. Hotel itself was not as depicted online - falling apart for sure. Motel vibes. For 500-600 a night, we expected at least working elevators and a soft bed.

Website & info outdated. Rooftop Terrace and Pool area was closed, told "no date for reopen available". No place to view the river - without purchasing an expensive suite. The advertised restaurant & bar not open. Signs still in window. Dining room for Breakfast "not open this time of year". Instead a small selection of microwavable packets & cooler items available -- but only in the morning. Our room was very small but adequate and clean. Staff seemed pleasant enough. They did waive the Resort Fee for our Gold status. But this facility has NO RESORT SERVICES to even offer other than standard excerise area. Overall just basic overnight spot.

Great location when leaving for a cruise from Mahnhattan! It was loud, but it’s NYC, not the hotels fault. They didn’t offer any food or drinks for purchase other than what was in the room. Our ceiling was falling apart in the bathroom, and had to be moved at midnight. Room was beautiful, check in was smooth, staff were helpful and friendly. I hear there was a change in management so no more restaurant and other features? Would stay at again.

This property has wonderful staff but not much else to really recommend it. A big lack of amenities. No water stations or even a store to buy bottled water. Small water bottles in the room but for $8 each. No coffee makers in room and none available in lobby or in a central area. One restaurant connected to the hotel, but only open for limited morning hours and 20$ for 2 cups of coffee. No room service No microwaves. Our room was right across from the bar/grill Mexican restaurant that has a lid DJ and dance party every night (except Mondays) until 1:00 am that seriously shakes your room and makes it impossible to work or communicate without shouting!

Ink48 is now just a simple place to stay in a good location for Javitz. New ownership has had to close the once amazing roof deck restaurant / lounge so there's really no action to have any kind of social experience at the hotel now. It's very quiet now, rooms still nice and well appointed but if you're looking for more it's not the place anymore

Not a great experience all round. Reception was fine and welcoming but that's where it ends. The lift, corridors and rooms very dated. On entering the room there were sockets and light switches hanging off, scratches and wear and tear everywhere. The bed was fine, pretty standard. The air con unit smelled like burning which we related to the front desk, it was caked in heavy dust and lint and hadn't seemingly been cleaned in a while. The shower had mould and black marks all over it. Again we related all issues to the front desk and were told it would be taken on bored. When we mentioned air con issues the person we spoke to even said, before we prompted, "does it smell like burning", which prompts me to think they've heard this before. The area it was in is fine, still a good 20 minute walk to subways but overall fine. Bit sketchy in some parts at night but that's most big cities. To use the rooftop we were told you need a booking which is odd as just wanted to sit and have a drink without having to time it. Anyway not very happy with the stay overall

We requested for a connecting room but the staff only arranged two rooms on the same floor but not connecting rooms. One of the rooms’ lock doesnt work so we needed to change room in the mid way. There was construction projects nearby the hotel so we got waken up around 7am every day. We found small cockroaches/flying bugs too. One of the rooms had table and chair while the other didnt have. Staff did not refill shampoo/tissue paper/shower gel when they cleaned the room everyday. The location is not ideal while we knew it. The neighborhood is kinda poor in condition when its night time. Not quite safe if you are alone.

The staff were incredible and upon arrival, we thought our room was massive and lovely. Once we actually got into the room, we realized what a good clean it needed. The shower head was so full of mould, areas in the room hadn't been dusted in ages, and the chairs at the dining table were disgusting with water stains and dirt. We were really annoyed to not able to get to the roof top bar with our daughter, exceptions should be made for guests. We also found it inconvenient to not have room service delivery or options for kids on the downstairs restaurant menu. It's a very convenient location, loved Hell's Kitchen area. Once again, the staff were incredible.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. As other reviews stated, it is dirty. Our room had curtains/blinds that had visible mold growth. It smelled like mildew, and it also smelled like cigarettes. It was a disaster. The elevators also did not work and we were told they were “working on it”. So if you’re on a high floor, we had to call down to get security to bring the elevator to our floor. The front desk suggested calling, but of course our room phone didn’t work so we had to call using a cell, get forwards to the front desk, then connected. A disaster overall.

Do not stay at this hotel in the summer! The air conditioning does not work and they know it and continue to rent the rooms. The room was hot when we arrived. We turned the air down and headed into the city. We came back 7 hours later to the room in the same condition. The temperature was 81 degrees. We called the front desk. They moved us into another room knowing the condition would be exactly the same. No one slept because of the sweltering heat in the room. Reading the other reviews this is a problem they know they have and they have done nothing to fix the problem. Room was not clean and the sink in the bathroom was stopped up. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

The rooms were big and nice and clean. King bed! And really nice bathroom. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooftop bar/restaurant is the best! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very quick and effective in fixing a small maintenance issue in our room.

The desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The Junior Suite room was clean and comfortable, however, the layout was very unusual, e.g. the light switch for the vanity was located on a back wall near the shower door, and the large soaking tub extended into the sleeping area. It was on a higher floor, so relatively quiet for mid-town Manhattan. The best feature was it’s location near the cruise terminus…only a 5-10 minute walk!

Stayed at this hotel for a conference close by. Location was fine, not my favourite area of the city. The hotel felt safe, secure, and clean. Air conditioning didn’t work in our room, the fridge didn’t work, and we didn’t have a TV (just a TV bracket with hanging wires). Would only stay here again out of convenience. Staff was friendly and kind.

We stayed 1 night at Ink 48 Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the condition of the building and rooms were underwhelming. Our room had a window with a broken seal, allowing cold air to flow in, a rattling air conditioning unit and evidende of poor workmanship on various fittings around the shower and bathroom. The blinds were also old and tacky. The hotel itself is a convenient location to the West River and several cruises, but otherwise is a largely out of the action (which was not the worst thing traveling with a child, but others may prefer more excitement nearby).

Ink 48 is conveniently located near the Manhattan cruise terminal, but the service was disappointing. We arrived at the 3:00 p.m. check-in time only to be told our Hudson View Suite wouldn’t be ready for 45 minutes. Chivez at the front desk was rude, offering no assistance or alternatives. After asking another staff member, Omar—who was professional and helpful—was able to find us a clean room in the same category, which made us question the original delay. The room was spacious and comfortable by NYC standards, but had several issues: the phone didn’t work, bath products were missing, and the vanity mirror was broken. At checkout, I reported these to Chivez, who was dismissive and sarcastic, even asking, “Well, did you at least take a shower?” He took no notes and didn’t seem to care. I later called the hotel to speak with a manager. The person who answered was evasive and wouldn’t connect me. Minutes later, Chivez called me back instead, though he was the reason I wanted to speak with management. He claimed the manager, Greg, would call me—he never did. While Omar was the one positive part of our stay, overall service was poor, and the staff lacked professionalism and accountability. We won’t be staying at Ink 48 again.

Thankfully the doorman was on top of things! We were waiting for our room and he went to check for us and it was ready, nobody told us. We were given a room on 14, key card didn’t work. Doorman called front desk and they gave a different room number. SOMEONE WAS IN THERE!!! Went downstairs and given another room on a different floor and only the doorman apologized.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had (and I freckled for a living for 10 years). The hotel itself is nice, but it has so many issues and so poorly run. Upon check in, my husband and I were put into an occupied room… twice. The front desk manager was apologetic and told us he would comp our room the first night. He did not. The elevator was broken and all night long, every 4 minutes it would ding, open and close with no one getting on or off it. It would just randomly stop on our floor - needless to say, we did not sleep well. The night manager refused to honor the room comp promised by the day manager upon our check out. The phones at the hotel are not working (and they were not working over the 3 days we stayed there) so I still cannot get a hold of anyone in the hotel line. I sent an email to the hotel manager… still no response. Worst customer experience I have ever received at a hotel. I do not recommend this property.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, due to its proximity to the Skift global travel forum. The rooms are decent, but room is facing to the north get a lot of noise from the adjacent nightclub. However, the biggest problem in my opinion is the hospitality, or the lack of it. Front Desk staff absolutely rude, don’t even greet you by saying good morning or have a good day, treating you as if you’re a nuisance. They have entitlement issues because their union workers, and know that they cannot get fired. Take care more about chitchatting amongst themselves, as opposed to assisting guests. Not acceptable at any price point, let alone $800 per night. I’d rather stay elsewhere next time.

Our stay was alright - check in took a while. The room wasn’t ready until an hour and twenty minutes after the scheduled check in time. Staff was very friendly, may be helpful to have another staff member at the front desk (they’re working very hard but having another staffer there may help with the long wait times for check in). The pullout bed in the room had not been changed, the sheets had stains on them and were just rolled up in a ball from the last use or uses. Shower had several empty shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles.

This hotel is on 11th avenue which is very close to the Hudson River and near the Intrepid and where the cruise ships leave. The view from the rooftop is beautiful and the hotel itself is very nice, but it's a little bit off the way and public transportation access is light so you're going to need to take cabs which can get pricey. It's not really the hotel's fault it's just the way New York City is built. However, it's a very nice place to stay

A great hotel! We had a corner room and the views were outstanding- the water and the city. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the subway, which was the only downside to the property. Otherwise, a great stay in a beautiful hotel with a very friendly staff. Would recommend and would stay there again!

However, you did not mention that access to the rooftop requires a reservation and an additional charge of $50 per person. I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. Didn’t realize they had changed some things. As a kimpton they had a fun wine happy hour at 5. They had a nice restaurant for lunch and a bar. We had planned on having lunch before the show to save time. No restaurant! We like to have a drink at our hotel bar, no bar. Had I known they changed their policies for the worse I never would have stayed there! To add insult to injury at 3am they had a false fire alarm! Waking us up on the night of daylight savings time. Needless to say we were exhausted! So many full service hotels in Manhattan to choose from. Would never stay here again! It was $$$$ too

The location of the hotel was about a 10 minute walk from Time Square. There were plenty of restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk which made it very convenient. The hotel gets really busy with guests going to the rooftop bar which as a guest, we still were required to make reservations for. The staff was nice, shout out to Jonathan, he was very welcoming and took care of us upon arrival. The water from the shower leaked out to the bathroom floor, the sheets were clean but you can tell past stains that have been washed, just buy new sheets. Night time was pretty noisy, there is a bar with a rooftop across the street that played music really loud.
