The hotel is a located on the magnificent mile, so in a prime Chicago area. That is a plus, but there are several minuses. Parking in the area is super expensive and the valet parking that the hotel offers is quite pricey. The lobby and rooms are quite small and yesterday there was only one elevator working. Not enough for an hotel with 16 floors. Altogether an ok accommodation, but next time I’ll look for alternatives.

The area in general is very walkable but MY GOODNESS the inside is terrible. Its only 1 elevater for 16 FLOORS. A guy told me that hes been going to this hotel for 3 years and the elevator still has not been fixed. I was on the 11th floor and had to go down 11 flights of stairs. Minimum the wait for the elevater is 20 to 30+ mins and its only 5 people allowed at a time. I have had to wait up to 3 times before i could get on the elevater. Alot of the people i ran across has said they will never book here again. Get that fixed its simple or shut the hotel down. Its no reason to have a practically booked hotel and only 1 elvater or go down of choose to do flights of stairs. Half the time it was more than 5 people on the elevater which was a danger. Other than that my pillow had blood on it and the left side sheets had blood also on it it was a tiny amount but still.

This is a nice place to stay in for a decent price. I hit the gym. Small but will get the job done. The staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurants are eight there. I liked staying here

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for! The amenities were more than what we needed. The fitness room was spacious and clean. The self service laundry was perfect for drying clothes after getting caught in a rainstorm. Great location for magnificent mile as well as the museum campus.

Most inconvenient thing ever - 1 of the 2 elevators wasn't working and we were on the 9th floor. Had to allot for elevator time when you planned your day or before you called an uber

My only gripe concerning this otherwise pleasant stay was the front desk's assertion that valet parking ($72) was their only parking option when there was a lot 2 buildings down. Barring that, nice modest hotel, clean and quiet in good area.

Handsome old building, well located to Michigan Ave and Streeterville. Fantastic coffee shop in lobby. Loud door closes could be fixed by management/ownership. Elevators are limited. Great value for the price.

The Saint Clair hotel is perfectly located in the center of Chicago, near many bars, restaurants, shops, and dispensaries. It's convenient to walk to most places. Check-in was easy, and they welcome my dog. The downsides are that the street was a little loud, and we could hear a lot of noise from other hotels rooms. Our room also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke which was a major bummer. The rooms are small, but that's okay if you know to expect that. I just wish that there had been a small chair. There was a desk, but the room had no chairs-- makes it difficult to use the desk!

The location is great. Walking to many major attractions, shopping and activities. It is LOUD. It sounds like the windows are wide open at all times. The rooms are not cleaned unless requested. They didn’t mention that or that there is a 24 hour lead time to get your room cleaned. Lobby/elevators are small and congested. Parking is EXPENSIVE! Morning staff was pretty friendly. Other shifts, not so much. I observed staff arguing with other customers regularly. One man was yelling at a customer telling her that he didn’t care what she had been told, this was HIS SHIFT and he was in charge. Vending machines were not stocked. The hotel was conveniently located, but I don’t think I would stay again because of the above mentioned issues.

The property only had 1 operating elevator causing 5 plus minute waits to get to the other floors. My group had to take the stairs from the 8th floor multiple times, passing by other guests who are doing the same. Cleaning had to be requested and was not a given. After our second day, we spoke to the front desk and they said a cleaning has to be requested 24 hours in advance. We kept running out of towels and tissue because no one was cleaning our rooms. The staff were nice but the hotel was not a pleasant stay.

I had a nice stay, it was worth the value. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean. Staff was very nice to me. Only complaint is that I could not get the wifi to work and was surprised there was not a mini fridge for a king room. Still, the room was clean and very comfortable, would stay again.

The room and bathroom are tiny! It seems like there is no insulation in the walls since we were able to hear everything that was going on in the hallway and other rooms, not to mention on the street! We were on the 10th floor!

sort of a good location as it is central to everything, however it is near a hospital and you will hear the blare of sirens all night long. The windows do not do a very good job of isolating the noise. Very clean but small bathrooms. overall a decent value for the money.

The hotel is in a great location!! The hotel was clean and the room was updated nicely but the room was small. There was myself and 3 teens and it was tight if you had bigger suitcases it would be hard to move and difficult to get around the beds. The beds were comfortable the shower was good but weak. I loved the price of the hotel room so you get what you pay for but it was good overall. Very safe and very close to everything. You needed a key to get the different floors.great safety. We used the gym and it was great! Navy Pier, Michigan Ave were very close! I would definitely stay again for the price.

The rooms are small, but sufficient for a tourist to Chicago. If you come to Chicago you really only need a good bed and a place to sleep comfortably. There is so much to do close to this hotel it is all you need.

No chairs in the rooms, and the tv is ridiculous. Not a smart tv and doesn’t even let you connect your own Google chrome cast bc the tv doesn’t move. I asked the front desk for help and he didn’t even look up from the computer when we asked.

Conveniently located just off the Magnificent Mile. Perfect for a one night stay. The twin beds room was a bit cramped but had the amenities you need. It is within the medical district so there will be plenty of ambulance noise but you expect that in the city. Overall well priced for the surrounding community.

Amazing location, clean and up to date room, but extremely cramped and tight quarters. Extremely slow elevators that you would need to wait several minutes for to go up or down. Walls seemed thin and it was very easy to hear things outside the room.

Great staff! The hotel isn't fancy. But the staff, location and price really make up for it. So very friendly and extremely helpful. I booked our room for the wrong night and the worked it out for us even with a better price! Also on a busy weekend with the Air nd Water show going on.

3 girls Stayed Wed-Sat, 8th floor. Hallway smelled musty. Room was very small but clean. Nightstand with charging outlets did not work (asked to get it fixed- I was advised the contacts were not the best. I asked for an extension cords- didn’t get it, so just gave up asking for help charging 3 phones, 2 head phones and a portable charger) when resting one night my room was assigned to another person (luckily I had the door stopper propped open. No apology was given by the hotel. Don’t get catfished not worth over 150 a night

The AC unit went out in our room 3 times. The engineers were outstanding. Quick to respond and they did the best they could. They ended up living us to another room because they couldn’t get it fixed. The front d so staff were great for the most part. It’s definitely an old hotel and they do the best they can.

Will, the night time front desk man, was AMAZING!! He was very helpful overall but went above & beyond when he ran down the pizza delivery guy (at about 2:30am) who had given us the wrong pizza--life saver!!

Nice property…bed was very comfortable and a lot of activities and sights are within walking distance. The elevators can be crowded at peak times. The lobby bar is very nice and a variety of restaurants in the area. River Walk area very close by and subway stations are 10-15 minutes walk away as well. Enjoyed my stay there and would stay there again.

I had no idea this place was super close to The Magnificent Mile. 10 steps and you're on it. The staff was welcoming and super fast and there's a really cool restaurant and bar downstairs. It's hard to find something in the city that is a good price and good quality. Definitely a great choice.

Hotel St. Claire provided us with everything we needed for our overnight in Chicago. The staff were extremely friendly and most helpful. We had two double rooms and they were simple, clean, and comfortable. My only "delta" has nothing to do with the hotel or staff but rather the parade of sirens from ambulances all night due to the proximity to the hospitals. It was just hard for me to sleep.

This hotel service was exemplary from ease of checkout, outstandingly comfortable beds and superb onsite restaurant. I didn't have time to try a drink from the am espresso bar (my fault... I overslept), but would expect it is ax wonderful as the rest. The location is also central and makes it easy to get around down down being less than a block away from major buslines.

I went down for coffee at little before 7:30, was closed. Person at desk tried to get them to open they said closed. That was very disappointing, I had to walk down the block to get coffee, and soda and got donuts for us to tide us over till we got all ready and went out. Very disappointed in no breakfast available which was supposed to be open till 8.

This property is so close to the Magnificent Mile and other tourist attractions, that made it so worth staying here! The restaurant on property is also nice. The hotel as a whole is very small. Small lobby, very small rooms and bathroom, which was ok because we were hardly in the room. There are two very small elevators and one was down, so that made it a little difficult. The staff was very friendly! We would stay there again.

Had a wonderful time there, the staff was very attentive and the Coffee Bar was excellent. Having the Restaurant Nora on Premise is an A+, Happy Hour, Lunch and Dinner is Fantastic. I highly recommend the Hotel St Clair for anyone to stay. I hopefully will be back asap. Thanks

We loved our stay at Hotel Saint Clair - it was a family vacation and the hotel is in a perfect location when visiting Chicago. It's not a huge hotel, part of a chain, which can be a little cold-looking. The lobby isn't huge, but comfy. The staff are incredible! And the rooms, while varying in size, are well appointed and easily accessed. Nora restaurant, accessed from the lobby is wonderful - lots of great things to order, a fun bar, and great service
