We rented two units for 5 days and had a wonderful time. My family of 8 stayed and everyone had a great time. There were close fun things to do in Lake George! When it was time to relax and enjoy the pool, playground, ping pong and other outdoor games we all really enjoyed our time at Amber Lantern! The owners are very nice and accommodating! Definitely would go back again!

I like the pool. I wish my room had a microwave. Only cabins had microwaves. The location was good in regards to my open water event in Hague and proximity to Lake George.

I travel with my husband and two sons.The location is close to the village of Lake Greorge ( by car), the staff are friendly and helpfull. We like this location becouse the cottage has everything that you need for a stay ( mini kitchen, bathroom with shower, beds, tv , air conditioner and some pots, pans, ect..). Also you can bring your own grill and kitchen items. The location is beautiful. We will back again.

Tom and his wife who own the cabins are so hospitable and will answer any questions you have. The cabins are comfortable, with barbecues, playground and a pool, and close to all activities and are a bit down the road from places to kayak, trails, restaurants, beaches. It also a lovely place to sit outside and chat and relax. We rented 3 cabins. We are definitely thinking of going back next year. Prices are so reasonable.
Tom and his wife who own the cabins are so hospitable and will answer any questions you have. The cabins are comfortable, with barbecues, playground and a pool, and close to all activities and are a bit down the road from places to kayak, trails, restaurants, beaches. It also a lovely place to sit outside and chat and relax. We rented 3 cabins. We are definitely thinking of going back next year. Prices are so reasonable.

The property is clean and neat and offers anything you can need: for grilling, firepit, swimming at the pool, ping pong, volleyball, you name it. I’m all about rustic cabins in the woods but these just need some TLC. I don’t even care as much about the peeling paint, or rusted shower but the smell of old, musty room enhanced every time the old window unit AC was on was little too much for me. We were lucky the weather was nice so we opted for open windows most of the time. We picked this place because it’s pet friendly. Upon our arrival, the owner/manager (?) greeted me by saying I was supposed to call ahead that I’m bringing a dog. Well, I didn’t know that. Then I was told to minimize the time the dog spends in the cabin alone. So that didn’t seem very dog friendly to me until I saw people who arrived a day after us letting their dogs run in the fenced in pool area off leash and swimming in the pool. Anyway, the rules for dogs just seem too weird and with everything else, I would probably not stay again. The best part is the location.

It was our first stay, and not our last! We enjoyed the kindness of the staff, the clean room/cottage and also the location. There were a few guests that were a bit loud on occasion, but that can't be helped, especially during busy season. We would probably just choose a cabin that is alone rather than shared next time. We look forward to coming again!

Wallpaper ripped and peeling. Sharp edges on bench and table in “kitchen” area . Rusted refrigerator. Corroded pot/ flimsy utensils, spongy floor under rubber mat in “kitchen” carpets filthy, old space heaters in rooms, lumpy mattresses. Rooms were dark. Tom was pleasant. Towels were fluffy, bed linens were clean but everything else smelled musty. We stayed 1 rainy night out of three and checked out.

The owners are nice people, friendly and responsive. They took care of us when we needed to extend our stay another day, and upgraded one of our rooms to a better free-standing chalet-type unit. The units were clean, and the aesthetic is traditional knotty pine, old-time Adirondaks camp. Showing the era they are dated to, the bathrooms are small. The units are in varying conditions of wear and tear, some quite "tired" and in need of updating in various ways, such as very noisy air conditioners. The beds were fair to good. It fills the bill for a traditional old motel and affordable, basic accommodations. If you must have modern features like wifi and three-prong electrical outlets, or a luxurious bathroom, these are not for you. Overall we were satisfied to have stayed for three nights. We recommend the free-standing, chalet type units as they are in more finished condition.

I like that it's not the middle of town. I didn't like the noise the neighbors made. I realize they are on vacation too but nobody should be that loud at 11p.m. at night! We also had a little trouble with the toilet but that was easily fixed with a plunger...all in all we had an enjoyable time staying at AMBER LANTERN...

The rooms were very cozy, and the owner was on top of everything. There was never a worry about towels or garbage bags or anything of that nature it was helpful and advice of where to eat and we will probably gladly stay there again one day.

It was an absolutely beautiful cottage. It’s pet friendly. It’s well stocked with plates and utensils as well as dish soap and a dish drying rack. It was a perfect place to stay.
