My stay was just fine, however I would stay somewhere else the next time I am in town. The main reason was valet parking - it was a 45 minute wait to get our cars and we were told that even though we had flights to catch, there was nothing they could do. Everyone has to wait that long. In addition, valet parking was almost $90 for overnight - just ridiculous.

We stayed here with hopes of utilizing its advertised amenities, including the Rooftop Bar but every night there were private events that prevented us from accessing the rooftop and we were still charged a daily resort fee. The restaurant closes early and there are limited food/drink options after 9pm when the rooftop is not accessible. The staff made a different excuse daily as to why we couldn’t access the rooftop. This hotel does have a nice gym.

This is a great hotel with unbelievably good location right in the heart of Chicago. We enjoyed everything from amazingly clean rooms and great service. The only thing to improve is the availability of spa (which is currently renovated) otherwise it was awesome

It's really a problem that the elevators are prioritized for people going to the rooftop vs guests of the hotel. We had to wait as several elevators took people to the rooftop while guests were standing there waiting on an elevator. Really disappointing.

Absolutely love this hotel! They were so nice and accommodating. I dropped off my decorations for the v-day celebration 3 nights before and it was all set up so perfectly. They had constant communication with any questions I had before, during, and after my stay. Their gym was amazing, too. Not to big, but also not supper small. Great for a quick workout. Additionally the Roof was great! Quality and quantity for the price, you usually don't see something like that from somewhere so luxurious. My boyfriend got the slider's and I got the lamb lollypops. OMG those lamb lollypops where 10/10, I'ma be craving those from now on. I just wish I had mash potatoes to go with them. Bed was so comfortable and the hotel room overall was so big and pretty. I would love to stay again!

In my opinion you are paying for the convenience. The location hotel is perfect. You pretty much can walk to shopping centers and stores. The rooftop is awesome but is hard to get into because of outside reservations.

We recently stayed at The Wit in downtown Chicago, booking a junior suite at over $2,000 for the weekend. While the room itself was nice, the overall experience fell short of what we expected at this price point. Positives: Room service and concierge were excellent—responsive and accommodating to anything we needed. The central location is convenient if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Concerns: The lobby and common areas were constantly overcrowded, especially on weekend nights, due to the rooftop traffic. It made the atmosphere hectic rather than relaxing. Valet service was extremely slow. Even after calling 30 minutes ahead as instructed, we still waited close to an hour for our car. I’d recommend calling at least an hour in advance. Access to the rooftop was disappointing. Despite booking a high-level suite on the 20th+ floor, we were told we needed to pay an additional $200 for access. Once we finally got up there, it was nearly empty—adding to our frustration. Overall, the stay lacked the sense of exclusivity and amenities you’d expect when paying this rate. Bottom Line: While we made the best of our stay, the value simply wasn’t there. For the same investment, you can find more luxurious hotels in Chicago that provide better amenities, less confusion, and a more seamless experience. Unfortunately, we would not choose The Wit again.

Was a little disappointed in the bathroom cleanliness - the toilet wasn't clean under the seat and the wall to the left of the sink had something splashed on it (unsure what). The beds and pillows were comfortable and I was pleased overall with the experience.

Not very happy - never cleaned room one day - still charged me 6 dollars for 2 x bottles of water. Shame I couldn’t get the water free as they didn’t clean room. Room : hotel is fine. Very hard to check in as the rooftop bar is a bit of a party magnet and we ended up in reception with 100 party goers

Booked a king room with a soaking tub. We arrived late due to horrible traffic and were in a hurry to catch a show, so dumped our bags in the room and left. Returned about 10:30p exhausted and ready for a long hot bath, only to find that the tub had not been cleaned and had standing water, soap suds and hair from where someone had shaved their legs. Pretty much disgusted

I know they noted the hotel was over going a facelift, but our room had yet to be updated. Carpet is visibly worn and dirty, when showering noticed a moldy smell and the water pressure was horrible! However, beds and pillows were comfy, and most importantly, the hotel was close to everything we wanted to see/do. Would I stay here again though? Probably not.

I arrived today at 12:35 PM and I understand check-in is at 4:00 PM. I was told I’d receive a text message when the room was ready because they were going to start cleaning it then, but I never received one. I had to wait around until I was finally able to check in. Once I got to the room and unpacked to get ready for a shower, I found hair in the shower, which was very disappointing.

We had a wonderful time at The Wit. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated, and centrally located in the Theater District. I feel that we got good value for the rate. That said, our room was not cleaned once over our 5 night stay, which was a first for me. Although we did sleep in each morning, we were out of the room at least 10 hours each day. The beds are also extremely firm and the pillows flat, which is not for everyone (esp. those of us who are side sleepers). We ended up purchasing $10 pillows at Target and that helped. It also gets very busy on the weekends due to the stellar rooftop. We were worried about the noise, but it was fine on the 18th floor. My son really enjoyed it and says he would give it 4.5 stars - esp. because he could watch Bluey on the TV. Overall, it was good enough, but Iwould try a different spot on a return trip.

The hotel staff was great and we loved the hotel, until we tried to go to sleep. We were on the 26th floor and had no idea that there was a club on the floor directly above us. Not only was it loud, the wall behind our beds was vibrating from the music. I did text the hotel on the message thread they were texting from and they said sorry, it closes at 2am. Well from 11-2 we had to suck it up. Getting up early the next morning to do a 9 hour drive with no sleep was not fun. I wish they would have told us at check in that there was a club above us or made that room cheaper since you could not sleep.

Room was nice, housekeeping everyday did a great job, and staff was top notch. However the wifi connection was slow and did not work well with corporate security policies for working remotely. Also would not recommend the adjoining restaurant State Lake even though we got some breakfast credit there as included in our hotel fees - the credit was $25 per room per day so doesn't actually get you two full breakfasts, service was slow, and I found a hair in my lox bagel one meal.

I stayed in the King Spa soaker tub room and when I say it’s perfect. The soaker tub was so deep and comfortable. The view into the city was amazing. The Roof at the Wit was a nice time. The view was amazing, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. It is a walkable area, close to riverwalk, about 30min walk to the Navy Pier and lots of restaurants and stores are close by.

The view from our room was spectacular! 2 walls were full windows so we could see Great city view and the river! Even the huge bathtub had a view! Great place. The only negative is that we could hear the L train but would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at The Wit. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated, and centrally located in the Theater District. I feel that we got good value for the rate. That said, our room was not cleaned once over our 5 night stay, which was a first for me. Although we did sleep in each morning, we were out of the room at least 10 hours each day. The beds are also extremely firm and the pillows flat, which is not for everyone (esp. those of us who are side sleepers). We ended up purchasing $10 pillows at Target and that helped. It also gets very busy on the weekends due to the stellar rooftop. We were worried about the noise, but it was fine on the 18th floor. My son really enjoyed it and says he would give it 4.5 stars - esp. because he could watch Bluey on the TV. Overall, it was good enough, but Iwould try a different spot on a return trip.

My stay was just fine, however I would stay somewhere else the next time I am in town. The main reason was valet parking - it was a 45 minute wait to get our cars and we were told that even though we had flights to catch, there was nothing they could do. Everyone has to wait that long. In addition, valet parking was almost $90 for overnight - just ridiculous.

Overall, our stay was very pleasant! First time staying at TheWit and everyone was very helpful and friendly. We will be coming back when in Chicago. The only feedback I would give is that when non hotel visitors are going to the Roof, that is it marked more clearly which elevator lane they need to go to. It was quite chaotic when trying to get to the elevators to our rooms and having to wait or ask people to step to the side so we can get to our elevators. Thanks for the great hospitality!

While waiting in line to check out today at noon, I was unexpectedly hit and almost knocked over by a baggage cart from behind. The impact not only startled me but also caused pain. Although the porter apologized, no one else checked on my well-being. The incident occurred in full view of the staff, yet no one offered assistance or expressed concern. The service response and help I received from Shannon McKinney the Business Travel Sales Manager and Zachary at the concierge desk were exceptional! We had a transportation dilemma and Shannon worked with us and resolved it! The hotel location is excellent, right next to the train stop from Midway and everything we wanted.

The area was ok, the staff was also ok. When our door wouldn't open because the battery died it didn't really seem like they wanted to help, more of an inconvenience that we asked and didn't believe us that we knew how to use a key, when it was in fact the door battery. The Maintenace guy though was awesome in helping us with the door and the bathroom door because it also almost shut us in due to it coming off the hinge and almost locking me inside the bathroom, so he was caring and helped a lot. With the many choices in downtown, I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Also I thought there was a swimming pool here, I was sadly mistaken.

This was my second visit with theWit, and it well exceeded my expectations. Everything & everyone was fabulous — Gabriella at the front desk, all of the doormen. The location of the hotel is excellent. One block from the river walk and just next to the train station for several lines. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Restaurant and Roof bar were both great. Staff friendly and helpful. We will definitely reccomend this hotel to friends and family.

The hotel was in an amazing area. Close to everything, we walked to the river and lots of bars and restaurants. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because of the Roof top bar/restaurant. Was extremely disappointed when 2 of the portions of this area were blocked off for private events, so we couldn't even go outside or see the area. That was a HUGE disappointment. We also paid for breakfast within the hotels.com app but we definitely didn't get breakfast included. We had to pay an additional $60 for this. Which was also a bummer. Overall the hotel was very well kept, clean, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. And the big soaker bathtub was BOMB!

Room was nice, housekeeping everyday did a great job, and staff was top notch. However the wifi connection was slow and did not work well with corporate security policies for working remotely. Also would not recommend the adjoining restaurant State Lake even though we got some breakfast credit there as included in our hotel fees - the credit was $25 per room per day so doesn't actually get you two full breakfasts, service was slow, and I found a hair in my lox bagel one meal.

Hotels.com sold me a breakfast buffet that doesn't exist. When I checked in I asked about the breakfast buffet I had paid for, just to confirm, and was met with incomprehension. TheWit doesn't offer a breakfast buffet, I was told, although other Hiltons do and I should take this up with Hotels.com. When I showed the desk clerk my reservation in the Hotels.com app she took offense and told me to not "shove that phone in my face." I wasn't demanding anything, I only suggested that somebody at theWit needed to get in touch with Hotels.com and sort it out. I was trying to be helpful. Service allowed us to enjoy the music without being intrusive or rushing, so wonderful. Rooftop bar/ restaurant has great DJ music…had cocktails and fire oven pizza while enjoying the evening view approach.

We had a wonderful anniversary stay at TheWit! We had a corner, river view rom and it was amazing. Our room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel was great. We ate late night dinner there one night, ordered breakfast from there, and also would pop in and out for drinks. We would definitely stay here again!
