The staff were always so nice and helpful. My only minor complaints were that one of the elevators was out for the duration of our stay and the pool was unavailable. I did like that there was a lot of seating in the breakfast room and that the parking is in a covered garage.

Staff was great. It was the room, and the lack of care that is in these rooms. Multiple parties were complaining of TV's being broken, ac's not working, fridges not shutting. Our experience was there was hair in the bed and our fridge wouldn't shut. There was only one elevator working which was the case the last time we stayed at this location. This will be the last time we stay here as we had a similar experience during our first stay. Definitely not up to par with the other SpringHill suites we stay at.

Hidden fee for parking of almost $18. Only one elevator working and it sounded like it was going to break any minute. ALL the guests were skeptical of taking it. Lobby nice, but hallways in hotel were old carpet, gum stuck in carpet and old furniture in the area in front of elevator. Didn’t feel like a Marriott property!!

Nice hotel, conveniently located near more than 10 restaurants. We chose to stay here specifically for the indoor pool for our kids, but unfortunately, it was closed for maintenance during our visit. The kids were all in their bathing suits and excited to go swimming, only to be disappointed when we found out the pool was unavailable.

Hotel was booked as it advertised a shuttle. I called to verify there was a shuttle, and if it was available for drops off a nearby UAB hospital (less than a mile). Was told "yes". The shuttle was essential as it was for an individual with mobility issues going to UAB Hospital. On the morning of the medical appointment, we went downstairs shortly after 7:00 AM to request the shuttle, only to be told the driver didn't start work until 3:00 PM!!!

Our stay was 8/9/24 to 8/11/24. At the time of our visit, there is a mass renovation going on, so the place was struggling to be fully clean & the pool was closed. The pool amenity is one of the reasons we wanted to stay here, so we were very disappointed. The staff was amazing, kind, smiling, helpful, and very vocal to excuse the mess so there is no fault to them: customer service was excellent. I booked through Hotels.com and there was NO NOTATION of renovation. If we were made aware, we would have made another choice. I would have appreciated a cut rate for the condition of the building and having to go to the (2nd floor) under-construction floor for the ice machine as it was abandon and very creepy. Again, the staff were excellent, so please don't fault the service staff for the - much needed - renovations underway. Shout out to TaQuay (front desk) and Karen (continental breakfast): your smiles and kindness were the best!

The hotel was under significant reconstruction from flood damage and the carpets and other areas were filthy. Also the bed linens were less than par. The staff was very helpful and understanding. The location is perfect for UAB hospital.

There was a roach in my room soon as I checked in and hair was in the bed. This is dirty and not at all what I expected of a Marriott hotel. I am not able to sleep in the bed now because of the hair and can’t get a refund. Very disappointed.

When we got to our room it smelled like cigarettes. There were stains on the floors and on the box spring. Crumbs were also under the nightstand. I was shocked that there weren’t cleaned. The elevators were dirty and the flooring in the hallways as well. The front desk receptionist was very nice and moved us to another room. This room was extremely clean and smelled fresh. It was like night and day from our first room. I would still not recommend this hotel. The difference between the two rooms was questionable

Check in was easy and the property was very nice. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I was traveling with my husband and son. We were meeting up with my other son, his wife, and their toddler. The front desk was accommodating to place us in rooms that are next door to each other. We were close to many places to eat and fun activities.

The mattress was totally worn out. I told the manager and he said thanks for letting us know. Ice machines broken on many floors. I went to ask what floor does the ice machine work, and the response from staff was, hmmm I don’t know you will have to just check. (Ice machines just not working but doors to them locked.

A great hotel that is in the center of downtown Birmingham. A short walk to UAB hospital and the Kirklin clinic. The room space is great and the bed is very comfy. Highly recommend!

The hotel was in a good location and overall everything was up to standard except the water in the shower. Both days the water in the shower was cold. It seemed like the water was getting warm when it was running in the tub but when you switched it to the shower it was cold.

We had severe plumbing issues, the linen we were handed for the fold out was gross and did not include a pillow. There were mystery stains on the couch. The plumbing was definitely the worst issue.

Room we stayed in had broken floor tiles in the bath, black covered by new caulk at tub, paper holder was barely hanging on and been recently moved as the holes were still in the wall, sink base leg was bent and broken along with carpet torn. Lighting was very low. My son’s room was a little better. Except for the fridge that was frozen and made room for the milk for the infant difficult to keep in fridge.

Ratings would probably have been great, if we got to stay there. When we arrived to check in we were told our room was no longer available. Apparently a big group came in shortly before we arrived and “they didn’t know what happened” but they no longer had any rooms available. We had two very sleepy toddlers with us that we needed to get to bed, but were turned away even though we had a reservation.

The staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. We needed a late checkout and there was no hassle with making the request and it being given. We were given a bag with water and a small snack upon check in which came in handy since we were walking to appointments in the vicinity of the hotel. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. They presented a variety of breakfast items which began at 6:30am which allowed plenty of time to eat and freshen up before heading out for an early appointment. The only issue was that the elevator broke down and we had to walk up to the 4th floor. The staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. We needed a late checkout and there was no hassle with making the request and it being given. We were given a bag with water and a small snack upon check in which came in handy since we were walking to appointments in the vicinity of the hotel. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. They presented a variety of breakfast items which began at 6:30am which allowed plenty of time to eat and freshen up before heading out for an early appointment. The only issue was that the elevator broke down and we had to walk up to the 4th floor. This was, however, out of the staff’s control and they were right on top of it ensuring the problem was resolved quickly. We would stay here again gladly the next time we’re in the Birmingham area.

Don't advertise your free airport shuttle if you're going to leave customers stranded for over an hour. The front desk staff was rude and unapologetic. The room was fine, and the continental breakfast decent.

Hotel was booked as it advertised a shuttle. I called to verify there was a shuttle, and if it was available for drops off a nearby UAB hospital (less than a mile). Was told "yes". The shuttle was essential as it was for an individual with mobility issues going to UAB Hospital. On the morning of the medical appointment, we went downstairs shortly after 7:00 AM to request the shuttle, only to be told the driver didn't start work until 3:00 PM!!!

Great hotel, excellent staff! The front desk associates were all awesome, super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. We will recommend this property to friends and family and will definitely make this our place to stay when in Birmingham!!

Very nice people and extremely convenient when you were going to Birmingham specifically for Care at UAB. You can easily walk to the UAB facility from this hotel. It felt safe and clean and the staff was really helpful.

Staff very pleasant, always greeting you with a smile on their face. Their complimentary breakfast was fantastic as well with lots of options. We were in Birmingham to see a concert at Avondale Brewing Co which was a quick Uber ride from the hotel. Our 2nd time staying at that hotel and will definitely be going back again

Our stay was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and breakfast was good and i loved how the had variety. The snack in the lobby was pricy but that was to be expected but overall this play was amazing.

First off. The receptionist didn’t say anything about the parking ticket validation only said that it cost $20 a night for parking (which I was not informed about until check in). I got charged for parking everytime I left because they never said anything about the validation. The breakfast was terrible they had no options everything was out of order.

The hotel was really nice. The room was good. The breakfast was not so good. But i will say that the hotel had ball teams. But when we came down for breakfast an hour and a half early everything was out. Trash running over and the person that supposed to be feeling everything was setting at the check in desk with a coke. She finally did go over a take care of stuff after we decided breakfast was over.
