Secluded - not much in immediate area. I believe there's a restaurant in the next door hotel. Plenty of easy parking. Convenient to EWR and rest of NYC. Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful.

Place seemed really safe to leave car for our cruise ship departure. They give parking for free if you stay a night minimum. Great deal! 50$ Uber to Pier. Perfect!

Great clean facility, connected to the Hilton garden inn next door so they have circling security checks for the parking lots, but can be a bit loud at night when sport bikes or similar go by. Otherwise a very quiet stay and the room was in great shape.

There was no pool as advertised by expedia which made for a very sad group of children. The hotel was extremely busy making the free breakfast unbearable at times.

Definitely not worth the price paid. Should have been 1/2 the price. Stay next door at the Hilton! Room had peeling wallpaper, mold in the shower, tape holding up the shower curtain rod and furniture falling apart.

I stayed at this hotel before a few times over the past year due to an incident that happened to my house this last time I find very long strands of hair in my bath tub. I find a used towel hanging up, missing one pillow from the bed and no shower gels, no shampoo in the bottles no soap I find it very despicable and a portable that, you spend all this money and there is no one to either help you or clean your shower or do anything so I give it a very poor rating and I moved out and going to the other hotel that’s what I’m doing. I should call corporate and put in a formal complaint which I’m thinking about doing .

There were ants and roaches in not only the room but the dining and common areas. The shower wouldn’t drain and the room was never cleaned during the entire stay although explicitly asked by me numerous times.

The entire room stunk of old, stale cigarette smoke. The toilet has old feces stains dripping down the underside. I told the front desk first thing in the morning and they assured me it would be cleaned. When I returned in the evening, the toilet had not been cleaned. When I informed the front desk again about the toilet, I brought a photo with me this time, and some poor maintenance man to come clean the feces. He was wonderful and kind and so apologetic. I was grossed out by everything at that point that I just couldn’t wait to get out of there. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. I don’t think it lives up to its 8.2 rating

The staff was very friendly on arrival. Our suite was on the 3rd floor. When we stepped out of the elevator, the carpet looked so dirty and dusty, and had a big brown stain right by the elevator. Our room looked clean. While the main bedroom area looked more or less renovated, the bathroom was so old and looked yellow with chipped paint. We attempted to take a shower, and when I pressed the shower knob, the faucet parts came out flying from the faucet and the top of the knob came out. Unfortunately, we had to leave and never got to shower. When I went downstairs to check out, I reported to them the problem. There was mention of the apology, they asked for our Hilton Honers account and told me “you are all set to go”. No that I expected them to refund my stay, but a simple i’m sorry for inconvenience would have been enough. No points added on Hilton Honors either. Not going to use them again.

First time here. Check in was friendly and easy. Loved the lounge area. Our room was clean, but I can't say fresh smelling. As a non smoker, there was a faint smell of smoke. We didn't complain because I had room spray. Our room was facing the back of the hotel...which faces 440. I was woken up a couple of times by motorcycles, tucks and cars. If you put a hotel by a hwy..soundproof windows would be a great idea! Breakfast was included..it was nice to see two flavored waffle batters. The food area was kept clean.

Hampton is my go-to in any city I visit. I was surprised at the condition of the room I was given. The furnishings were worn, and seemed to be a mishmash of things thrown together. I checked in late, so I guess I got last pickings (a handicap room). The bed was the only familiar thing. It was very comfortable. The room/bathroom were clean, and the breakfast was good. I would stay again, and try to be there at normal check in.

Noisy hotel, the highway just below is unbearable if your room is on that side. Thin walls, you can hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms. Impossible to sleep.

Our room 205 was not well lighted. Also I am sure I didn’t request a disability room. Next time I will check the room before unpacking. I think a non-disability room would have more living space. TV not bright and had no brightness adjustment.

Beautiful hotel, clean, modern. But bad experience with checking in. Receinist stated our rate is $40 more because we wanted to pay cash. He stated that there is no even need to call for manager as this is a hotel policy. I spent morning on chat with Expedia to confirm that it is not. When i came to check out receipt was showing the amount i suppose to pay and not i paid. After explaining situation to rhe assistant manager, who was very polite and professional, her investigating for about 40 minutes, we got the difference back. And she promised to address with employee on where would money go we did not complain.

I had a bad experience at the initial check in at this hotel. It was extremely hot outside and there were several of us (other guests waiting to check in) all waiting in the front lobby and dining area. The attendant at the front desk was dismissive and ignored most of us even though we all approached the desk at least once. It was an issue of being checked in early and being charged fees. Many of us are repeat costumers and have already experienced the accommodating service of being checked in an hour or two before regular check in time as a courtesy - especially when the weather is extreme and especially when there were so many of us. There is a big sign in the front vestibule that says "If you\'re not happy, we\'re not happy" and I couldn\'t help but laugh because there was a lobby full of people who clearly weren\'t happy and instead of addressing us or offering other suggestions, the employees stocked the fridge and avoided eye contact.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for 3 nights. Checking was easy and getting extra towels or washcloths was very simple. William, the manager at the front desk, was very helpful! The breakfast was very enjoyable. Many options to choose from each day. The beds were comfortable and the room was very cool during the four day heat wave while we were there. I would recommend staying here. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We checked in at midnight and there were 2 staff members working. Someone walked in directly in front of us wanting to make a reservation. The 1st employee started that process, the 2nd employee asked if we had a reservation, we said yes, he then told us the 1st employee would help us when he was done… and he walked away. We then waited almost 15 mins to check in, all while the 2nd employee kept coming out from the back to poke his head out. Once we made it to the room, the entire bathroom floor was covered in some sort of oil/ sticky substance and one bed was off the bed frame by 6 inches. We only stayed because we were exhausted from driving all day. Definitely wont be returning.

Even with a global power outage, the staff were friendly and helpful. This had to be a nightmare for them and they smiled through it and did everything they could to help their many customers. The situation did cause some unavoidable delays, but I truly commend the staff and their management on how well they handled it. Additionally, the facility was very clean and the complimentary breakfast provided many options. The coffee is delicious (even for a coffee snob). Thank you for making our stay pleasant.

Excellent hotel but the breakfast area needs more space. There was a big crowd during the long weekend. Also I suggest keeping the vegetarian food separately from the nonvegetarian because the ladles used for each dish could get interchanged. Either that or keep the ladles inside each dish.

Very crowded when we were there. Getting to the breakfast passed the crowd of people was a bit challenging. And it wasn’t like the food they served was great, just usual fake eggs and uncooked sausage and bacon. The room was clean and spacious. But there was where and tear on the doors, floors, and walls.

The room smelled like dirty feet, the carpet was sticky, the breakfast was terrible over cooked tatter tots are not breakfast food as well as the sausages used were not for breakfast but just as terrible. The apple juice had an ant in it and it tasted water down and nasty.
