Nice place, good value for the price, good food in the restaurant, very nice eating environment in the “garden”. My main complaint is that the check-in instructions sent us to some random alley with NOTHING THERE! After traveling for 20+ hours we were in no mood for that. We finally went to where we thought (hoped) the hotel was and were able to check-in. Why have special instructions that take you somewhere else?

Do not waste your money staying here. The only good thing is the proximity to water taxis. The red carpet had a black moldy spot as you walked in along with two big yellow discolored spots. The smell in the room was that of it not being aired out at all, quite moldy. The walls were covered in red and gold fabric which had not been changed in decades, which held in that moldy smell. Although there was A/C, it didn’t work. We had the temp down to 18 and with it being a tiny room, it was stifling hot. Hardly any space to have two people moving around at the same time. Paper thin walls, could hear all noises with other guests. Front desk is in another building a few doors down. The TV turned on by itself multiple times throughout our stay, first time being at 5:00am one morning. Checking in area was also the spot where guests paid for restaurant services. In the middle of us checking in, we had to wait for multiple guests to pay for food. This hotel has a three star rating but was no where near that. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

The photos on the website are so far removed from reality. The room was a disgrace. It was pokey and small. The carpet is faded and knackered, the furniture is falling apart and battered, the fabric wallpaper was coming away, there is mould in the bathroom, the shower was dreadful and had an awful lip on it which was sharp and you can catch your toes on, the bed was like two camp beds pushed together, the WiFi doesn’t work at all, the tv on the wall was wonky. Even the corridors are horrifically shabby getting to the room. The rooms are in a separate building to the surprisingly nice but tricky to find reception, but that’s where the good bit ends. I’m surprised this place has any stars and is not worth a fraction of what I paid.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel Messner. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a private bathroom in our room, but we were also on a floor with a shared bathroom in the hallway (right across from our room). This made for some noise late at night and some awkward meetings with semi-naked strangers in the hallway. All in all though, it’s a beautiful more quiet part of Venice. The salute water bus stop is a very short walk, and there are several really great spots to eat or get an espresso close by.

Our room was two buildings down from the initial original building where the reception desk/check in was. The man who checked us in seemed very flustered and rushed. He couldn’t answer many questions. Our “full double bed” was two twin beds pushed together with very thing mattresses. The room was very sparse. The shower was good size, but you did have to let the water run a while before the hot water came. But we did have hot water for our whole shower (I know people have complained of water issues. When we were checking in a girl was complaining to the receptionist of no hot water in her room and he had no answer or help for her). We were only in Venice for the night so it was doable for us and for the price. Our room was overlooking the canal and walking distance to a lot of things! We felt safe walking around till late at night. Quiet for sleeping.

La moquette de la chambre était recouverte d'une grande tache noire, que j'ai accidentellement piétinée pieds nus. J'avais l'impression d'avoir marché sur du vomi. La chambre sentait l'humidité. La douche était propre, mais le rideau en plastique me collait au corps. Une flaque s'est formée pendant que je prenais ma douche, car le rideau n'était pas assez long. The room was absolutely awful and looked nothing like the pictures. They have 2 buildings under the same hotel name, one rated 3 stars and one four. I believe the photos are all from the four star hotel. There was a pungent musty-damp smell in the room, so much so it posed a health concern. Water damage visible on the walls coming through the wallpaper. Bathroom was very dirty and had black mold on the walls. This was false advertising and we feel like we’ve been scammed.

Arrived to property and was told no AC. They did offer a discount if we stayed, and unfortunately there were no other hotels available so we had to accept. Room was dark/dingy and nothing like the pictures shown. Bathroom had a horrible musty smell. Very much felt deceived by both the hotel and Expedia, and for the price we paid the room should have been as described. Would not recommend to anyone and if we had had to stay a second night, we would not have.

We got let in to our room 1 h early so that was nice. However the room was so hot and the ac was sentrale controll so not working good. In the bathroom it was alot of black mould on the wals , sink, doorframe and mirror. Gives the feeling of hard to breathe in the room and it smells like moist, we asked to change room but it was fully booked, try to look for another hotel but didn't manage. We got fresh towels on the bed for a new day so that was nice.

The location is amazing , you literally staying in the core of Venice , my complain is the a/c for the size of the room it does not blow enough air to keep room fresh you would have to open windows and the bad side of that is that mosquitoes will enter your room and you know the rest , bed was a bit to hard for my liking but you may find comfortable, and WiFi is not good on the room I was at at all , besides that I totally recommended.

I do not recommend this place, it does not deserve to be called a hotel. The room was small, dark and dingy, the bedding was damp. There was no remote control for the TV and air conditioning and it was impossible to regulate the temperature. In the bathroom, instead of a door to the shower cabin, there was a curtain cut too short, water flooded the floor in the bathroom. The entire room with the bathroom require a general renovation. The room was quite large and accommodated all of the people in my party perfectly. There was an issue with the air conditioner and it did not stay on. It had to be constantly turned on every few hours or it would get very hot. We were on the first floor which was nice and quick to get out. We also faced the canal which was really cool. The room was a bit damp but it is an old building near water. It was easy to get around getting to the main bridge over the grand canal (about 10 minutes) or a water taxi about 10 minutes start to finish to St. Mark's Square. There is also the water ferries about five minute walk to go to further places in Venice. Great coffee shop about 3 minute walk away.

Giving this place one star is a BLESSING, I wish I could give it ZERO stars!!! The old man in the reception, is extremely rude. He does not respect guests and especially not women, he told us to “be quiet” and “shut up” multiple times when we went to complain about the A/C not working, to us and another guest. The A/C kept shutting off every single hour, they would not give us the remote, we could not sleep, we ended up leaving at 7 am because it was impossible to sleep and the heat was horrendous. The entire place was filled with water damage, dirt and mold, I was coughing the entire time I was there. Do not waste your time or money on this place.

This was a perfect hotel for 2 of us. Exactly what I expected to stay at in Venice for the price point. Room was not large but did not need the space. Dieses Hotel ist nur für Gäste zu empfehlen, die gerne kalt duschen, da es in den Zimmern KEIN WARMES WASSER gab. Angesichts dieser eklatanten Mängel sind andere Unzulänglichkeiten wie der Abwassergeruch, der verstopfte Duschabfluss und die beschädigten Sanitäranlagen völlig nebensächlich. This property was freezing. We were given a space heater the next night because the heat is centralized. There was black mold all over in the bathroom. The photos must be from 15 years ago or so because the bathroom did not look like it did in the photos. The corners of the floors seemed not to be vacuumed. The sheets were clean and changed each day. I highly recommend eating somewhere else. Their breakfast was €12 and was incredibly unsubstantial. A couple pastries and yogurt was all they had.

Minha experiência no Hotel Messner foi muito abaixo do esperado, e os problemas começaram já no check-in. Fomos colocados inicialmente em um quarto que não correspondia ao anúncio: cama de solteiro em vez de cama de casal e ainda com restos (lixo) deixados pelos ocupantes anteriores. Após muita reclamação, fomos realocados para outro quarto, que embora aparentasse limpo e tivesse cama de casal, apresentou outros problemas: água quente não funcionava, não havia controle do ar-condicionado (tínhamos que descer para pedir alteração da temperatura) e havia cheiro de mofo no ambiente. Além disso, a experiência no restaurante foi frustrante: no primeiro dia, cobraram uma taxa e não aplicaram o desconto de 20% prometido aos hóspedes, e o garçom foi rude. No segundo dia, não permitiram que consumíssemos um resto de vinho que levamos do quarto, mesmo sendo hóspedes do hotel. Tentei contato via site onde fiz a reserva para esclarecer dúvidas, mas não obtive resposta. O preço pago não condiz com a qualidade oferecida. Resumindo: Veneza é linda, mas este hotel definitivamente não é digno da cidade. Não pretendo voltar e não recomendo.
