Courthouse Hotel London

Nice hotel but lots of little things that I feel have been ignored that if they were addressed, it would make the hotel perfect. I’ve already left a note with the hotel so won’t detail all the issues here, but just lots of little things that need better attention to detail. I was also really shocked that the bars in the hotel were closed by 10:30 on a Saturday night! I usually expect a bar in a hotel to be open late for residents. I couldn’t so much as get a Diet Coke! So that was extremely disappointing.

Very surprised to find a hotel with a gorgeous swimming pool right in the middle of London.

Amazing location. Close to the Tube. Rooftop bar. Clean room. Great spa. Concierge was top notch.

Staff were incredible but both bars and restaurants empty . Spa was very small and pool quite cold . Treatments expensive

The hotel is quite unique in that it the building used to be a courthouse and elements of its prior life are preserved throughout. The staff were friendly and professional and the hotel is clean. The pool is managed and run by the spa which is sited on the basement level. The pool looked like it needed a good shock treatment as the water was hazy. There were not very many pool chairs available and it appears to function more as a waiting area for the spa than a hotel amenity. The biggest disappointment with my stay was the obnoxious music every night from the bar on the 6th floor (our room was on the 5th floor). The unsolicited discotheque ran every night from around 6pm to 11pm. Hotel staff were apologetic but seemingly powerless to do anything about the loud thumping music. I advise you to not let them place you on the 5th floor.

This hotel is not 5 star hotel. It’s 3 star. Pool is cold and small/mouldy

Hotel was in perfect place for everything we had planned. Room was clean and comfortable and good standard. We enjoyed the history of the hotel and quirky bar rooms made from old cells. Roof top bar was disappointing, over priced and no atmosphere, feel its just another gimmick to make money.

The location is perfect, 2 mins from tube. Right in the mix of Soho. Rooms were very quiet considering how busy it is outside. Staff not really informative, I had to ask questions regarding breakfast, checkout, where the lift was. Room was ok, shown signs of wear and tear, hotel was also a bit beaten on places, 1 out of 2 lifts worked. And the lift that was working had buttons missing. Swimming pool was ice cold. Breakfast was decent though.

A lovely hotel near Carnaby str so very convenient for Central London. Hotel a bit run down in places - in particular the pool which was quite cold. Room very nice but basic.

Disappointed to say the least. Room was dirty. Bathroom was mouldy. Spa was hardly a spa. They class themselves as a 5* spa hotel and I cannot see how they was given this title. The location was perfect for what we was in the city for but that was all about it. The staff was rude and uninterested when I said I wanted to raise a complaint. Definitely would not visit again

Lovely stay, we did use our rewards nights discount, so it was definitely worth our per night price excellent location for shopping in London and the theatre, clean and friendly staff efficient check in.

Room was clean, bed comfortable but certain things were missing, there was no mirror in bed room so to dry your hair you had to standout out side bathroom and hope you where doing it right. The extraction in bathroom did not work, . For a Queen Room it was in need of re decoration.

Hotel was reasonably nice, conveniently situated for our stay, but the room was certainly not in keeping with what i would expect of 5 star hotel.. Long hairs all over the bathroom, stained carpets, TV impossible to operate, grimey mugs and glasses to name a few things.

Minus- Old rooms in desperate need of a refin. Dirty/Stained sofa, and carpets. Bathroom was not cleaned properly. Plus+ Location. Very pollite and helpfull staff. Roof terrace and bar was great.

A good location for my purposes. However, the bedroom was very tired and gruby. It smelt damp and musky. Clean enough but just gruby. Stained tiles, ageing yellowing paint, tired carpet. All together depressing.

Have stayed here before and once again we has a fantastic stay. All the staff we had dealings with were very helpful, cheerful and pleasant. Our room was immaculate and well equiped. All the public areas were very clean. We will definately stay there again.

The location of the hotel is perfect! I was upgraded to a large and wonderful room, clean, bright and cozy. The staff was kind and lovely. Highly recommended

Central location which was ideal, great service overall, room was spacious and well presented. Pillows were not very supportive, needed 3 to give enough height. Would return!

The rooms although large, are quite dated and need a refurbishment. The air conditioning didn't work properly & couldn't get room cool. Couldn't open window either! TV didn’t work & even after someone supposedly fixed it, still didn't work. Ran out of sugar as it wasn't replenished. Very expensive hotel & definitely didn’t deserve 5 stars! On the plus side the staff was helpful & friendly.

We booked a room in the hotels.com in a size of 42m2 - and expected a quite large room - those m2 were not in our room!! Next door to roofterrasse with loud music until 23.00. In general very kind teammembers. Good location. Good breakfast. The hotel is rated 5 star which is hard to understand. View from window was a brickwall.

Very basic room with a fridge for a side table & above bed light switches not working & no wardrobe!!

Room was comfortable and spacious. Great amenities...had everything, kettle and tea/coffee, iron, hairdryer, safe, umbrella. Only concern is bath would be tricky to get into and water pressure was very low.

Great stay although air con did not work despite getting help from housekeeping.

The venue is very well located for Carnaby street and the room was nice. WiFi in the room non existent, the member of staff said it worked for him but seems not to work on Apple devices. I visited the sky bar but the staff member was so engrossed in her phone on a side room that she didn’t even acknowledge me so I left again. Fitness centre is something of an exaggeration. Average place for a high end cost.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Courthouse. The location is unbeatable. Service friendly and rooms very comfortable.

We were upgraded which was a lovely surprise. AJ and the rest of the staff were great - friendly, courteous and efficient. The location of this hotel is great. A couple of minutes from Oxford Circus tube and bang in the middle of the West End. Room was large with a comfortable bed, large TV with Sky channels and a chaise longer. Plenty of toiletries were supplied. We paid for breakfast and I thought it was very good value. There was a variety of cold meats, smoked salmon and cheeses. Yoghurts, fresh fruits, breads, cereals and pastries. You could order poached or boiled eggs etc and on the buffet were Cumberland sausages, back bacon, beans, scrambled eggs. Hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms. The sausages especially were delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay in this beautiful hotel! We received an upgrade on our room, as we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic room and very spacious. The staff, particularly the front of house team, were very helpful and did their best to accommodate us on our arrival. Love the history associated with the building and its close proximity to theatres/restaurants. Would definitely visit again!

The staff are the friendliest most helpful people you could wish for. All hotels should provide this level of service.

Lobby reception dark very low lighting. Felt it was night time. Strange feeling in middle of the day. A bit off putting but thankfully met by impeccable dressed smiling friendly concierge and reception. Immediately helped with my request for extra tea bags and fresh milk. Disappointed that room offering refreshments very skimpy. No mini bar in room and in room service food very slow. Did not answer phone and when they finally did answer, slammed phone down impatiently before I had chance to even say thank you. After hour wait, one of the impeccably dressed professional gentlemen from reception delivered our pizza in the end. He kindly took notice earlier my daughter & I were hungry after asking him an hour earlier when I ventured downstairs why no one was available to take our order on the phone. Not asking for much. The sockets in the tiny room dodgy. Wonky sideways and big holey gaps behind fittings, Lamp beside bed did not work, no side table. Bathroom floor dirty. I have travelled paid half the price in other hotels for room with facilities better than this. Understand we have to spend more for location. We slept soundly though, bed comfortable and via expedia thankfully only money I don't mind spending as understand must spend more for such a fab location. Would stay again.

Amazing room and common areas and well-located in one of the busiest parts of London. Stayed over NYE and it was a welcome respite from the hustle of the city. Our check-in staff was extremely friendly and helpful, big commendations to them. Would highly recommend.

Poor service from staff and a very tired hotel. We stayed over New Years Eve and were given a room where the key card wasn't working. Had to contact concierge every time we wanted to be let into the room which was a serious pain. Staff gave us the run around for over 3 hours saying it would be fixed before eventually admitting they couldn't even get in contact with the repair company. Topped off with only half a shower screen existing on the bath tub and a barely flushing toilet. Good location, right by Oxford Circus. Room was quiet once inside.

An excellent, ideally located hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Couldn’t wish for more

The Courthouse is great for location, but everything else about it is average. It's seen better days and now looks faded and a bit worn out. There's no longer the warm welcome of the past, and if you have to deal the reception for any reason, the response depends on who's working at that time. The concierge and certain staff can be lovely but the majority are often cold and at times hostile depending on the question or issue. If you're simply looking for a base with a bed, then this is great, but if you're looking for luxury and want to feel pampered....look elsewhere.

Great central location from Oxford Circus

A lovely, really comfortable room in tbe best location. Convenient for all central London tourist activities. Will definitely use again.

Centrally located hotel with friendly staff and easy access to public transport around Oxford circus.

My husband and I LOVED this location… extremely close to Oxford Circus bus stop and right off of Regent. Even better, it was right across the street from Caraby Street. Great restaurants and vibe. Despite the noise you hear while on the street, you don’t hear any noise in your room. We had a room with a king-sized bed. Our room was not ready even after the 3pm check-in; but the staff went out of their way to apologize and accommodate us. The lifts are small; however, I’m grateful that they were there as some hotels in London don’t have them. The front door is a little obscure and if you get back to the hotel “after hours” then you have to ring the doorbell to be let in. We were very happy with our stay and would do so again.

Perfectly located in the West End for shopping as walking distance to Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street. It’s opposite Liberty’s and walking distance to Soho and Piccadilly. We had a lovely, comfortable room. Staff in all areas very professional, friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, not overpriced.

The center of the center of London. Unbelievable location, very nice Hotel, will be going back, next year. Thx for your help, and service.

Fabulous location. Room was large with a very large comfy bed and large TV opposite, also had a chaise lounge in the room. However, no hot water to the sink ! We’re going to have a drink in their sky bar about 9pm to be told they were closing for the night. Didn’t see or use the spa. Breakfast was good but would have liked to be offered a pot of tea.

We had an afternoon tea and breakfast which were both very disappointing. Overall the room was fine and it was very nice to be able to check in early. However the rest of the experience did not live up to expectations

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in London breakfasts was amazing they will cook you an omelette great location well worth the money would stay there again even have sky staff very friendly
