Relatively inexpensive for the neighborhood and location is great, the manager greeted us outside and was friendly and booking was smooth. Note that the room was on the top fifth floor, so tons of stairs to haul luggage. The main down downsides were the building is old and quite rundown, though they were clearly doing some touch up painting and are working to improve its rather rundown interior. The cleanliness of the rooms was ok, for while the actual pillow cases/linens and bathroom (which was clearly redone and is nice) were clean (critical), the room has many wall stains and floor spots and we found half a bottle of water and a leftover part packet of ED pills under/between bed and walls (eeewww!). I also had a loose carpet staple stick my foot, which I pulled out for safety. All things told, despite a couple significant detractions, we really enjoyed our stay, and I do believe this manager and property are on the upswing and worth trying!

Check in was easy and the gentleman at reception was very friendly. There is a narrow flight of stairs to get to reception. We were able to leave bags in the small reception area as we arrived early. Our room was across the road in another building on the 3rd floor (no lift) Room size was ok but basic. Did have hairdryer and tv but no other extras. Shower was great though. Furnishings tired with knocks and chipped paint around bases. Excellent location and ok for 1 night.

I booked this hotel for myself and a work colleague. We had a training course very close by and the location of this hotel is spot on. 5 mins from Bond Street station and just off Oxford street, perfect! Tbf we expected worst. Yes the building is old, outdated and shabby but the rooms are clean enough, the bed linen clean and fresh and the bathroom adequate. For the price of this hotel, in central London, it’s all we expected. There was brand new aircon in our top floor room which was very welcomed in the heat. Tv didn’t work but we were literally sleeping there so didn’t bother us. It is noisy at night but it’s CENTRAL LONDON so to be expected. Bring ear plugs! Didn’t get to eat in Restaraunt but very popular and smelt lovely. Reception staff were really helpful and the building felt safe. All in all a great stay for the very reasonable price. Would stay again.

Did not know we had to navigate all of the skinny stairs. Room was smaller than expected and very hot. Thankfully there was a fan but I just made it okay. It did the trick, but was over priced compared to our other two Marriott airport hotels

Good position for Hyde Park concert. Very small room, which wasn't so much of a problem for one night after a concert. However two walls were disgustingly dirty, with various body secretions on them. The manager accepted it was totally unacceptable, but said I should have told him when we saw it at 11.30pm. Lesson learned. Will not use this hotel again.

The place is in a convenient part of the city. We felt comfortable walking around. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean. Lots of mildew and the toilet needed a special trick to get it to flush. Our bed was VERY hard but the kids’ beds were fine. Flat pillows. They did come in and straighten up every day and give us plenty of towels. That is not the norm always. For the price it was fine. The restaurant downstairs was very good and very accommodating.

Booked this hotel based on loction for a couple of members of staff. The rooms were disgusting. Very unclean, marks on towels and bedding. Mould in the bathrooms and even dirt on the walls.

Central hotel off Bond Street. Ideal for a reasonably priced stay bang in the centre of London. It is not far from Soho and about a 10 minute walk. The room I was in was a bit dated but perfectly clean, functional and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and will return on my next work trip.

Ok I guess for the price I didn't expect too much, after climbing a flight of stairs with my suitcase to the reception and checking in I was informed my room was in the building across the street, now that was a challenge 5 flights of stairs with my suitcase. Ok now the room at 1st glance it was clean, then start looking around cobwebs up high, damp/mold in the bathroom. The noise all night from the street below, the bed was an old fashioned spring bed, with the springs worn out, the pillows were as flat as a pancake. So overall not the best of experiences in a hotel choice. Hey for $80 I guess it worked. As for the location it was excellent, close to Mayfair and New Bond street, amazing shopping are and not too far from the Tube Station.

NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! The location was awesome. The room was small but was ok for our family of 4. No breakfast. We were in Room 4. The restroom had mold. The room was more less clean but not spotless. It would have been great if it was swept and mopped. The older, front desk guy was not very nice. I saw a sign stating there was breakfast from 8-9:30am and he denied it being displayed. He was short and rude that there was no way I could have seen that. I told him no problem and hung up.

Our stay started off disappointing as we carried all of our bags up the narrow stairwell to check in, only to find out that our room was not even in the same building, but across the street instead. However, we arrived to our private & HUGE family room with plenty of beds and space. The shower was perfect & was in its own room with sink/mirror. The toilet was in another room with sink/mirror making it convenient for multi-person sharing. The wifi was strong and beds were cozy. The only things that bothered us were the dirtiness of the walls/couch and the unclear layout of the hotel. Otherwise, we were quite happy with how it turned out! I would definitely recommend the family rooms for other groups of travelers!

The Mermaid Hotel has been great - it is definitely no 5 star, and probs not for everyone. Very Faulty Towers like ... It's above a shop - no lift - skinny terraced stairs - takes a while for the hot water to kick in - the floors creak - the ceiling creaks from the floors upstairs ... But ... The man in reception is really pleasant - the room was cleaned every day - it has WiFi - just off New Bond Street (the most expensive street in Lodon) one street behind Oxford Street situated between Bond & Oxford Circus Stations ... You could never go past the LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION ... I would recommend the Mermaid to anyone who owns ear plugs - understand creaking ceilings can be an issue if you are trying to sleep - and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The Mermaid Suites Hotel is in a very central and convenient area, good for shopping and dining, and close to Bond St Station. The room we had was small, but the bed was comfortable. It was a bit shabby and dated, but if all you want is bed for the night at a very good price, it’s a good hotel.

Stayed for 1 night was quite happy it served a purpose which was somewhere not too pricey. And within walking distance to Hyde Park. Shower was amazing but the mattress on the bed was a little tired! But actually had my best nights sleep for over a week. Room was clean a little dated. No toiletries although plenty of towels, complimentary tea and coffee but had to ask for a teaspoon. I would stop again for a short stay and a budget hotel in a very good location

The property is in a very good central location near Oxford Street. The public transportation is also nearby. Lots of shops and food places. The set up of the property is divided. Our place was across the mermaid hotel entrance. They had rooms service every day with fresh towels which was excellent. The only complaint is that we had no WiFi. We had to step out into the stairwell to get any connection. And even then, it was very poor. I have a phone carrier with weak overseas data so it was paramount that I had WiFi. Unfortunately this was a big minus. The rest of the stay was good.

Staff were great - room for fine clean and tidy only downside was the day/night blinds. They didn’t suit the room so I didn’t get a good nights sleep as the room was lit up most of the time .

Room was tiny for 2 people. The bathroom was small and was hard to get out of shower. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable.We had very noisy neighbours and you could hear creaking upstairs till about 3am! Wouldnt stay here again i would give this hotel 2 stars

Relatively inexpensive for the neighborhood and location is great, the manager greeted us outside and was friendly and booking was smooth. Note that the room was on the top fifth floor, so tons of stairs to haul luggage. The main down downsides were the building is old and quite rundown, though they were clearly doing some touch up painting and are working to improve its rather rundown interior. The cleanliness of the rooms was ok, for while the actual pillow cases/linens and bathroom (which was clearly redone and is nice) were clean (critical), the room has many wall stains and floor spots and we found half a bottle of water and a leftover part packet of ED pills under/between bed and walls (eeewww!). I also had a loose carpet staple stick my foot, which I pulled out for safety. All things told, despite a couple significant detractions, we really enjoyed our stay, and I do believe this manager and property are on the upswing and worth trying!

Check in was easy and the gentleman at reception was very friendly. There is a narrow flight of stairs to get to reception. We were able to leave bags in the small reception area as we arrived early. Our room was across the road in another building on the 3rd floor (no lift) Room size was ok but basic. Did have hairdryer and tv but no other extras. Shower was great though. Furnishings tired with knocks and chipped paint around bases. Excellent location and ok for 1 night.

When returning to the hotel in the early hours after getting back from Wembley, we were locked out of the hotel in the street. Our card wouldn’t open the door and we had to try to get someone to let us in. Once we were finally buzzed in, the keys wouldn’t work for our door either. A man came out from reception IN HIS UNDERWEAR and kept telling us how to how to use the key and watching us try. You know because we are two stupid females that couldn’t put a key card in a slot. He kept saying don’t leave the card next to mobile phone making out it was our fault. . Ok…. It wouldn’t work for him either. He disappeared and came back with apparently new cards that also didn’t work and reluctantly let us in with his master key. Ridiculous.

NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! The location was awesome. The room was small but was ok for our family of 4. No breakfast. We were in Room 4. The restroom had mold. The room was more less clean but not spotless. It would have been great if it was swept and mopped. The older, front desk guy was not very nice. I saw a sign stating there was breakfast from 8-9:30am and he denied it being displayed. He was short and rude that there was no way I could have seen that. I told him no problem and hung up.

Without small properties like this, we would never have been able to afford to stay in such a great, safe area of London. The room was small but clean and comfortable. We stayed in the family room for 3 people on the 3rd floor (stairs only) My son had a twin bed in a little alcove around a corner. The location was excellent. I was very satisfied with the Mermaid Suite Hotel.
Without small properties like this, we would never have been able to afford to stay in such a great, safe area of London. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The place is in a convenient part of the city. We felt comfortable walking around. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean. Lots of mildew and the toilet needed a special trick to get it to flush. Our bed was VERY hard but the kids’ beds were fine. Flat pillows. They did come in and straighten up every day and give us plenty of towels. That is not the norm always. For the price it was fine. The restaurant downstairs was very good and very accommodating.

I booked this hotel for myself and a work colleague. We had a training course very close by and the location of this hotel is spot on. 5 mins from Bond Street station and just off Oxford street, perfect! Tbf we expected worst. Yes the building is old, outdated and shabby but the rooms are clean enough, the bed linen clean and fresh and the bathroom adequate. For the price of this hotel, in central London, it’s all we expected. There was brand new aircon in our top floor room which was very welcomed in the heat. Tv didn’t work but we were literally sleeping there so didn’t bother us. It is noisy at night but it’s CENTRAL LONDON so to be expected. Bring ear plugs!
