Got to the hotel fairly late so did not try the bar but it was a nice space. Spacious and comfortable room with nice toiletries. Quite homogenous areas but that is feature of a large chain. I used the gym and in a room with a few cardio machines, two were out of order. Good links to airport and helpful friendly staff.

Nice enough airport hotel. A fair trek from the terminal - a good 10 minutes lugging suitcases not ideal. Directions from long stay Carpark would have made life easier. Bus for one stop £4 back to terminal. No fridge in rooms but ice machine near lift. Easy walk to McDonalds, KFC and an M&S store at garage.

Bed was uncomfortable! Strange smell in room during the night… horrible! Like a dirty bathroom smell!! The lobby is nice but the building is old and refurbished!!!😩 Staff very pleasant! Liked the restaurant and bar. Juliet our waitress was so very nice and wanted to please. The morning breakfast was not very appeasing or good. I was disappointed because in the US the Marriot is first class and that is why I booked it. Shuttle to airport was most convenient but have to pay. The gym had broken equipment Lastly the TV was not user friendly and unable to watch a good movie. Asked the staff about viewing movies and they said they are working on it😢. Could not get a good cup of coffee as they had machines full of choices and I chose Americano and it was awful and watery! Machine drinks are never good as a cup of brewed coffee.. If this Marriot is a franchise they need to know their hotel does not meet the high standards of Marriot. I was very disappointed.

Overall very good experience with check in (which was very late), room was clean and modern and breakfast/breakfast area (bright and please; food was very good). Minor item was how low the toilet was and a bit tight to shower. More significant not specific to hotel per was the suprise on cost of airtport shuttle. We walked in the evening ---its not far ...may be 500m at most I think... but with luggage not relaxing so we took the shuttle on the bay back and it was 10 pounds for the 4 of us which we did not expect. Free is the norm in the US I guess not the UK. I did not see the cost on the timetable in the lobby...may have missed it but good to other to note

Excellent choice for airport. So convenient. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Ate a delicious meal in the restaurant. Location perfect. Parked the car in long stay carpark which is almost right next to the hotel. Approximately 10 minute walk to departures. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel itself and the staff were nice enough, but to call yourself an airport hotel and not have an airport shuttle is ridiculous. With a bag it is absolutely not walking distance. And the paid shuttle service that comes by only runs twice an hour.

We had booked 2 double beds room and on arrival we was given a double room with just 1 bed in it. Had to go to reception for it to be corrected then to be put in a correct room which was filthy. Bathroom not clean at all. Carpets not hoovered properly section of the bath broken. It was 2 in the morning and we had a flight to catch in the morning. We was given complimentary breakfast and drinks but considering this was a Marriot hotel standards very disappointing!!

The staff are lovely and the restaurant and bar are great. We were put into an accessible room which was comfortable but the bathroom wasn’t great — a crack in the toilet seat and some mould in the grouting. We reported the crack and I am sure it will be dealt with.

Daily Bedroom cleaning was very poor. Did not clean room properly leaving trash, not changing cups, not changing towels, bed was made up poorly, etc....had to go to front desk everyday to get our key entry card rekeyed because it would not let me in the room. Poor experience that I relayed to the staff.

Front desk had a hard time explaining the bus service to the terminals. Something about a free service but one needs to pay for the bus service to the terminals. I was confused. Maybe it was the difference between British and American English? There was a big stain on the rug in room 12. Suggest replacing the carpet in that room. The toilet seat is scewed

The outside looked very nice. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not working. We were put in the farthest room so we felt the heat in the hallways. The ceiling needed repair in our room and there was mold in the shower. The countertops looked like it needed to be wiped down. Lots of water spots. The wasn’t a plastic bag for the ice container so I used my own cup. We got a fan. But the fan was dirty.

There was black hair in the bathroom and the AC did not work well. You could see black mold in the bathroom and where the AC had leaked in the ceiling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was in walking distance from LGW if you walk through the Hilton. It said recently remodeled but it could use more polishing.

We stayed here twice. The first time we were on the first floor and the room was a bit newer than the second room that we stayed in on the ground floor. The bed was VERY firm springs with no memory foam topper. The main issue was that the aircon did not work on either visit. We spoke to reception who said they would ‘investigate’ and obviously nothing was done about it. It was blowing but doing absolutely no cooling, outdoors it was only 16 degrees but inside was at least 21 even with the aircon set the lowest for hours. The walk from the airport was easy enough, you can also get a shuttle. We only stayed because no other hotel had a king bed but I probably wouldn’t go back.

We had a exceptionally bad stay here. Air con wasn't working at all and it was like +40C in the room. At least not in the second floor 250€ scum class room we had. We asked for a fan upon check-in from Emmanuel, didn't receive it. Asked it again when we came back to hotel around 11pm, never received it. Not a single word was heard after this. Now it was also too late for us to change the hotel as our flight is already some hours away. We also had a used dirty towel in our bathroom while we got in and also our fridge was not working. When we tried to call about the fan to front desk, the phone was ALSO broken. What an absolute fiasko this whole hotel was. Somewhere after midnight we got some kind of fan to our room which obviously just shoots hot damp air now like in a miserable day in a tropical swamp. This was obviously after third time we asked about it at reception (phone still not working). But you guessed it: the fan/cooler ALSO broke during the night so we went on experiencing this ridiculous place without barely sleeping at all. Check-in was slow. The guy in the reception wanted to talk about all kinds of stories about this and that. Then straight up lied that there is some minor and temporary issues that AC isn't working 100%. I mean it is absolutely not working AT ALL. I can also read from the previous reviews myself that this same issue has been here for MONTHS. Still lying. I would honestly choose an airport bench over this place. I'm sad I didn't.

HORRIBLE!! No air conditioning, no fan and unable to open windows. Two nights of not being able to sleep because it was SO HOT. Morning of day 2 Was promised a room with working air conditioning for the 2nd night and when we returned in the evening we were told there were no rooms available. Felt there was A LOT of intentional deception.

1 night at the airport for an early flight Hotel lovely Room great Food was good - service in restaurant was poor! They didn’t know how certain foods came with basics - found out what it came with - we ordered it and then was told they don’t have it! The restaurant staff really let the whole place down. Small things like a kiddies pack given to a baby - warning label says not to under 36 months old! Retaurant staff need some proper training

The room wasn't great, not totally clean and we were given an accessibility room when we asked for a standard double. It was also right by the lifts meaning we heard people coming and going. If we had been staying for longer than one night we'd have asked to change rooms but because it was functional for what we needed we accepted it for what it was.

I just have to say the staff are amazing. We traveled from the US to go to Isle of Man TT. After a 14 hour flight, a 1 hour bus ride from Heathrow to Gatwick, we chose to stay at the Courtyard Marriott to get some rest for a 5am flight…you can imagine how tired we were. At midnight we were awoken by a soccer team running through the halls and knocking on rooms while laughing and stomping down the halls. Needless to say, it was a tad infuriating. I personally went down to the front desk to complain and I was greeted with the most helpful and understanding service. Alexandra personally made sure that I, and my family, were well taken care of and compensated for our egregious interruptions from a group of drunk parents and unruly spawn. I can’t thank her enough for her empathy and understanding of my personal frustrations. With her help we were able to get some final rest with the comfort of knowing our early departure is well taken care of. I truly appreciate the care and concern shown and the honest, professional, and help Alexandra and the rest of the staff provided. They took a bad night and made it disappear, and our goals of getting to the TT successful without further burden. Thanks to Alexandra for covering our needs for the next steps of our journey.

We didn’t receive any information about the hotel when we checked in, we were given key cards and told where the room was. Nothing else. The TV kept turning itself off so we had to move the tv forward to turn it off at the wall which wasn’t ideal. Especially with a young family needing to sleep before an early start.

I’m a lifetime Titanium Marriott Rewards customer. I choose Marriott for consistency and standardization of quality. Experiences slow check in, poor mattress quality - never like this at other global Marriott, other guests entering our room at 6:00 AM having been mistakenly been assigned to our room. I was also double charged for the room having already paid via Expedia. Fortunately my credit card company caught this and rectified the matter.

I stayed here for one night prior to my flight home to Canada. It is very convenient to the airport and the walk takes 10 minutes or less. The signage is great so you cannot get lost. There is also a shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes if you prefer. The room was surprisingly quiet considering all the activity and very comfortable. There is a dining area and bar in the lobby. The food is okay with a limited menu. I would stay here again.

The instructions sent by the hotel from the south terminal were deceiving. It was not a 10 minute walk but a 35 minute unmarked slog through parking lots and across busy streets. DO NOT WALK. Take a taxi or some other transportation.

Great stay. Close to the airport, like 6 min walk from terminal to the hotel. Could be difficult to find the way from the airport. Keep to the right when you leave the main terminal building. Take the elevator down one floor and keep to the right again.

10 minute walk, from The AirPort The signs are hard to find, when first on The walking path is easy to find. Tip: go to elevator in The parking take this to level 0. Take left from elevator then you will find The path. Ok hotel, English breakfast ok.

This property was a 10 minute walk from the South Terminal which was super convenient. It had all the amenities you would expect in a hotel. We arrived at 9 pm at night and the restaurant had closed at 8 pm, which seemed early. Our eating choices were take-out fast food which isn't ideal.

Good value for an airport hotel. Restaurant was weird. Totally empty but they made a fuss because we didn’t have a reservation (even though we were hotel guests). And then they made us pay on their tablet at the table when we ordered. Have never ever experienced that before anywhere in the world. After they delivered the food they never came back to see us again (so no dessert)

Room and check in were both great, no noise from planes which was a relief, bed huge and comfy However, food was appalling - Welsh rarebit was garlic slices with a cheese&mustard concoction on top which I sent back as it was undercooked. Am sure they just regrilled it as it returned burnt. The original description of dish was Welsh rarebit on white bloomer - no mention of garlic. It was very garlicky, good job I wasn't allergic. Husband's soup was not very hog and a much smaller bowl than pictured

Convenient location for flights out of Gatwick Airport, and very kind staff! The room was clean and modern, with everything we needed after a long travel day. The breakfast was top tier with lots of variety (it opened at 6am so we were able to eat before our morning flight). Highly recommend.

The hotel location and airport shuttle both met our meets and were fit for purpose i.e. one-night stay before flight. Check-in was also smooth and super efficient. The overall hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast offering was also good. However 2 of our party of 4 experienced food posioning which, by process of elimination, we tied back to the Caesar salad at dinner. Better care and food safety practices need to be implemented. The dinner service from the staff also left a lot to be desired. We were initially ignored until we asked for menus, they got the order wrong, and were barely apologetic. "Disdain" is the word I would use for the treatment we received in the restaurant.
