I’ve stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and continually reviews that the hotel needs refurbishing. Condition of hotel has noticeably deteriorated in the 16 months since my last stay. Technology now doesn’t work properly, lifts go out of service too regularly, rooms looking more and more shabby. Two saving graces are staff who are generally friendly and the location which is wonderful

The room was a good size and comfortable but the hotel facilities are very basic and not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. There is no bar or restaurant/room service at all expect for breakfast, which given this is a VIP property and is advertised as coming with 20% off food and drinks during the stay is misleading given we couldn’t even get any food or drink to use it on. I asked for ice one evening and was told it would be brought up to the room and it took over 30 mins so we couldn’t relax or get changed in the meantime. We then had a mandatory room service charge when we checked out which we weren’t informed about when booking or on hotels.com which isn’t good given the main service we had was poor.

This is a really nice hotel in a good area with plenty things around. It is an easy walk to both London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The hotel doesn’t have a bar or evening restaurant, however there are enough around.

Great staff. Breakfast options were tasty and served in a timely fashion. One of the two lifts is not operating. Our room was very comfortable. Friday evening meal when we arrived was not good. Multiple menu options were not available, and the food was overcooked.

Loved where Hotel was situated. It was so near to the bus stops. So i didnt feel stuck. I did like the fact that one lift was out of order. I arrived at b2 on Saturday and at check out time on Monday, the lift was still out of order.

The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. They should make an effort to have their second elevator repaired. It has been out of service for a very long time. Also we were not aware that we received VIP benefits. Poorly communicated.

I would not let a dog stay here. The service was terrible. Room was dirty and unkept. Blinds had holes in them and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention they hotel gave authorization for a maintenance person to access my room without me knowing while the dnd sign was on the outside of my room.

At check in the staff were extremely helpful. The room was spacious but lighting was poor especially as the hair and make up area light didnt work so we had to use one of the bedside lamps. Bathroom was spacious and the shower was wonderful but the paintwork in the bathroom was chipped and the shower seals needed cleaning as they were grubby. Free wifi was a plus!

The room AC was very poor and it was very hot, the shower was all mouldy (head and ceiling), and the facilities were very poor. Very hot in the common areas with limited AC in hot weather makes it impossible to even relax.

The hotel was ok but did not deserve four stars but rather three. There was mold in the bathroom and large stains on the floor. It wasn’t possible to let fresh air in but only to work the AC which resulted in very bad air in both the bathroom and bedroom. The breakfast was good, not great, but one could order omelettes and there was fresh fruit which was great. The coffee was acceptable. The staff was very nice. There was coffee and tea bags in the room plus cookies and two water bottles that were free and got replenished every day if consumed. The bed was very uncomfortable and rather felt like a sleeping couch than an actual bed. We believe that the sheets must have contained some synthetic fabric as the body always felt very sweaty underneath (or it was the missing fresh air due to being unable to open the windows). Taken together, we’d not recommend the hotel for the price it was offered. However, we would neither say it was a terrible experience - it was just an acceptable experience and there were some nice parts about it but since it showed to be a four star hotel on Expedia, we expected a four star standard which it only fulfilled in some parts but mostly not.

Hotel is in great location in London. Staff very accommodating with my early arrival after 26 hours flying and allocated a room as soon as possible. This was greatly appreciated. Hotel is in generally good condition but I found some mould on the ceiling of my shower which needs to be remedied. Breakfast selection good

This hotel must have been lovely ten years ago. Looking tatty and very well-used now. Still comfortable, rooms still big and airy and it felt safe. A lick of paint and replacing the fittings would make a huge difference. Also not ideal for transport links but the local area is very nice.

Room was quite dated, and bathroom needed upgrading. It was clean, as best could be done when work needs doing. Bed comfortable, quiet. Very poor lighting in the room, nearest plug to the mirror was under the TV stand, had to push the sofa bed out of the way to get to it. Don't expect a traditional 'full english' no pork products, but plenty of alternatives and loads of choices. All the staff were friendly and welcoming

this is the second time we have stayed at the hotel as we like the location about 15 walk from London Bridge Station but close to lots of cafes, bars and restaurants. Our room a Superior Twin was very nice but somewhat impractical. Little or no storage space, just two small hanging rails and a high up shelf to put some clothes on. Also what is probably considered to be mood lighting means the room is very dark of an evening

Great location in Bermondsey. Not far from London Bridge station. Staff were very friendly. The room was great - working AC and the bed was super comfortable. The interior could do with a bit of a refurbish, but I can’t complain because everything was in working order. I would stay here again!

Worn out room (damaged paint and furniture, shower door doesn't close properly, etc.) The photos are flattering. Breakfast is expensive but mediocre. There's a Sainsbury Local next door, which is a better option for basic breakfast items. The nearby WatchHouse cafe is often busy but has excellent coffee and light breakfast. Convenient to many restaurants on Bermondsey St. Bus stop is right outside, though a bit far to tube stations. Quiet room, comfortable bed, good workspace in the room, helpful and friendly staff. Note that the terrace rooms have a shared terrace, not private. Acceptable if you need to stay in the area and can get a good price on the room (and skip the breakfast).

The air conditioner was not working in our room for the duration of our stay. When reported, the front reception said they would have it looked at. No one ever came and the front desk did not communicate. When speaking with other guests, they commented that the air in their rooms was so cold that they had to turn it down. Our room was stagnant and sticky the entire stay. It was reported 4 times. On the last day I was told that maintenance was off the past two days, basically meaning that they were not truthful when they said they would get them to look at it.

Really well situated for easy walking access to London attractions. Club room booked was small but comfortable. Absolutely no knowledge of Hotels.com VIP rewards programme on check in - when generally asked about this and whether a room upgrade was available as per booking, I was informed no, as I’d already got a good booking rate. No booked VIP benefits applied and a small housekeeping ‘surcharge’ added to second night care on check out left a slightly bad taste on what was an otherwise good hotel experience.

Great location and easy walking distance to tubr , markets , tower bridge , food and drink options , friendly staff with easy check in and out , room perhaps a little tired although clean and great size . Slight concern was small step into the bathroom which after 3 trips and almost injuring myself we put a white towel down to highlight it and avoid any further accidents

We stayed for 2 nights based on many other positive reviews. The hotel charged £10 more than stated on the booking, they said this was Hotels dot com adding a discretionary charge for service but the bill said service was included so that was frustrating especially when you search around for best value. The location is good, its in a nice area with a urban vibe nearby, lots of lovely coffee shops and bars/restaurants. It was a mile to the nearest tube station. We are fit and walk a lot but this did become a bit tiring because it was around 30-40mins to get into central london, 15mins walk and 25mins tube. The room itself was spacious and had everything we needed, good wifi, heated towel rail, air con, coffee/tea and a fridge. The bed was quite hard, but the bedding was warm and and comfortable and the curtains blacked out the light well. We paid extra for breakfast to be included but this was only for the breads, cereals and cold breakfasts, cooked breakfast cost more which was a shame but the choice was good nonetheless and the breakfast area was nice. All the staff were friendly throughout yhe hotel and the environment in the hotel was relaxed. We would stay again because the hotel offered larger rooms than in central london for a better price. There were no disturbances from outside or other rooms so this this was really great for a London hotel too.

Excellent breakfast with a large selection of fresh fruit, juice, hot and ready eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, beans, omelettes available, cereals, breads, muffins, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino. Room was quite dated, and bathroom needed upgrading. It was clean, as best could be done when work needs doing. Bed comfortable, quiet. Very poor lighting in the room, nearest plug to the mirror was under the TV stand, had to push the sofa bed out of the way to get to it. Don't expect a traditional 'full english' no pork products, but plenty of alternatives and loads of choices. All the staff were friendly and welcoming

This is a really nice hotel in a good area with plenty things around. It is an easy walk to both London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The hotel doesn’t have a bar or evening restaurant, however there are enough around.

Great location, very nice room, breakfast was very nice, good variety. Staff friendly. Although I was greatly disappointed during breakfast which is self service. The lady who was employed in the dining room was extremely inefficient at her job, the cereal was not stocked up, bread had not been replaced, simple touches that were essential at breakfast, she really couldn’t be bothered. She was there two mornings, our last morning there was a different girl working who was excellent at her job. Very disappointing when staff can’t be bothered.

Worn out room (damaged paint and furniture, shower door doesn't close properly, etc.) The photos are flattering. Breakfast is expensive but mediocre. There's a Sainsbury Local next door, which is a better option for basic breakfast items. The nearby WatchHouse cafe is often busy but has excellent coffee and light breakfast. Convenient to many restaurants on Bermondsey St. Bus stop is right outside, though a bit far to tube stations. Quiet room, comfortable bed, good workspace in the room, helpful and friendly staff. Note that the terrace rooms have a shared terrace, not private. Acceptable if you need to stay in the area and can get a good price on the room (and skip the breakfast).
