It was a great experience! I would say that rooms need an update. The was water leak in the bathroom, our phone shower wouldn’t stay in its place, and there were tiny ants crawling around the bathroom sink. With all that said, room wad clean and we had a comfortable bed. I liked the private pool in our area.

This resort has changed ownership since my prior two visits and unfortunately was not what I expected. They are into the hard sell for memberships which I had not experienced when Karisma owned the property. An hour turned into two and they acted like commission only car salesmen. Even at checkout they tried to sell us a discount return visit. We tolerated the sales pitch in order to receive credits toward spa. The staff was amazing. Special thanks to Erika who cleaned our rooms and Manuel who was the bartender at our pool. Two examples of the incredible staff. The resort was showing wear and tear. I could see daylight through my door where slats met the frame. The closet doors had mismatched handles and did not close. Door jams needed paint and thatched roofs were worn. The legs in the pool lounge chairs were loose. The food was good and we enjoyed our meals. Room service was prompt. Upon our return home I have received an email and phone calls telling me I owe them money because we received too much of a credit on our spa treatments. The credit was for sitting through the sales pitch and clearly said $1500. $500 per person. They are saying it was $500 total. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of the document but I am not paying anymore for “their” error. My suggestion for anyone going to El Dorado is document everything and take pictures of everything they give you. I will probably not return unless ownership changes again.

This is the first all inclusive resort in Cancun area that I have felt pretty strongly that I wanted to return! We stayed in a beachfront Casita suite and it was fantastic. Gorgeous grounds. Amazing spa! And probably the two biggest game-changers are that this resort obviously hires very thoughtfully, and they hire incredible, high-quality staff. All service was superb. And the food was up a notch - thoughtful, more complex flavors and lots of authentic food. The only negative that I can think of is that the toilet inside the casita was not 100% private. It had doors that closed, but they were extremely thin and then there was no ceiling over the rest of the bathroom. Otherwise, really enjoyed the stay!

I’ve been to this property before, in 2021. The food was better on the previous stay. We were a little disappointed in the view from our casita… it was supposed to be ocean and it was turned towards the pool. The spa was as great as I remember. The staff was always friendly and our pool bartender was the Bomb! The last 2 days of our stay they started construction on the casita next to us very early, waking us up.
