El Dorado Casitas Royale, All & More Inclusive - Adults Only

The staff at El Dorado is amazing, everyone is friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed the 3 pools, main one at El Dorado was lively, lots of activities. 2nd was at the casitas was relaxing, more quiet without the loudness & the one at generations was beautiful & huge. More like a Vegas resort. Would definitely go back to this resort.

I loved the staff, everyone was so nice. The property was stunning and well kept. However, the management of the property needs attention.I ordered room service and never recieced it, twice , even after calling to confirm that it was still coming it never came. Prepare to do alot of walking even though there are alot of golf carts around...most of them are speeding around the property narrowly avoiding running over the guest...not giving rides.

The Good: -Food is quite good at all restaurants -The property is huge. If you like to walk and explore, this is a great spot. Lovely walks on the path along the beach. -Clean -Very nice staff for the most part The Challenges: -The property is huge. If you have mobility issues, this may not be your place. You can get rides in carts, but you have to wait/request and I'm not sure it would be very convenient - you may need some patience. -One day it rained very hard and the service and staff really feel short. Carts refused to pick up guests (I was told by one guy "I'm too busy". I witnessed another cart driver refusing to take an older couple while it was pouring rain to their restaurant. It was as bad as it sounds. I could not believe it. They were doing other things (moving luggage), but the idea that guests come first was not their mindset (especially in pouring rain) and that's why I thought it was terrible. -The restaurant reservation system is complete garbage. It's now a web page and it's wonky at best. We had to eat at the same restaurant two nights in a row twice (Italian and Steak both in a row). It was all we could get and we read and heard that some others could not get any reservations and had to order room service. The staff can't just do it for you, you have to book it on this web page and it's honestly trash. They need to address this immediately. It brought a level of stress to our stay that was unwelcome on a vacation.

Spa was great

We enjoyed staying in the Casitas as it was more quiet and laid back but still easy to get to the restaurants and events happening in Royale and Generations. The staff was very kind and accommodating and made our first trip to Mexico an overall great experience. One thing to note about the property is there is not really an option to lay on the beach or swim in the ocean as it is rocky but we were shuttled to maroma beach which was beautiful.

This was our first time, staying at El Dorado, Casitas, and it did not disappoint. The grounds are immaculately maintained, and it is a huge property, so that is saying something. The room was everything as described – swim out was wonderful. The dining options were plentiful. The golf cart service to get you to and from your room due to the Was very helpful. The beach is very large, but very well-kept. The saltwater pool by the ocean was very very nice. The inclusive transportation to and from the airport saved a lot of time. The excursions that were offered as part of the more inclusive package were excellent. If there was one thing that I would say could use a slight improvement is if you are looking to purchase any souvenirs, the selection at their gift shops was a little light. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone, and look forward to returning soon.

The staff are wonderful! We had a swim out room at the Casitas area and thought it was absolutely worth it. I can’t find a single thing to be unhappy with. We both enjoyed the included day at Maroma Beach with the catamaran snorkel. That was some an awesome inclusion. The entire resort as well as the Lomas travel team and the staff at Maroma are so well organized and punctual. We had the best time!

I loved the Casita concept. Each group was like a small village with it's own pool with swim up bar and it's own personal concierge to aid you with reservations to excursions. The property is quite large but they have a great system of large golf cart shuttles running every 10 to 15 minutes to take you anywhere you need. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We will be back.

I loved their professional yet welcoming appearance and demeanor. My driver Jesus Cruz was great and made sure I arrived at the El Dorado Resort in a safe and timely manner. Check in was a breeze, I loved the quality and amount of activities available to me at no extra cost and ease of scheduling. I could choose to slow down and relax or be busy and explore, best of both worlds! Food and drinks are top notch, and the variety of food available is unbelievable. I wish I could have tried something from every place! Traveling solo, I felt extremely safe the entire time on the property and when out on activities. My casita was beautiful. I had a swim up third from the beach. I booked a massage and water experience with the spa right near my casita. I highly recommend El Dorado Resort and Lomas Hospitality for more inclusive travel.

This was our 18th trip to a Mexico all-inclusive resort. We can say by far one of the nicest resorts we have stayed at. The food was fabulous with the service and staff being outstanding. But unfortunately, hotel management decided to do construction on the room next to ours on our last full day at the resort. Sad part for us it was our 32nd wedding anniversary. Construction started in the morning and continued throughout the day. Our outdoor space was basically under construction with workers doing heavy demo all day then running chainsaws only feet from our porch. We had debris falling into our space and swim-out pool making them both unusable the entire day. We expressed our disappointment with the lobby staff and were assured management would be notified. We also expressed our disappointment in the resort app chat section and were assured they were sorry. We left the room for a few hours for lunch and when we came back our entire porch was covered in debris and there were electrical wires in our swim-out pool making the entire area unsafe. We again spoke with multiple staff members about the issue and even our safety concerns and we only got automated messages saying they were sorry they did not meet their own standards. The cleaning staff was scared to even go on the back porch, and we ended up calling maintenance ourselves to get the exposed wires out of the pool. We never got any acknowledgement from management of our concerns.

This was the best trip to Mexico we've experienced in the past several years, and we have visited Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya (another resort), and Cancun. The food was delicious at every restaurant, the staff were extremely helpful and nice, and all grounds and rooms were immaculately clean every day. Amazing place!

Broken glass plates were shattered outside our room from room service and they would never clean it up so we were constantly walking on shattered glass. Staff asked for tips. Overall, very poor experience and sad we took our honey moon here.

The property is beautiful. It’s very large and spread out. There are 3 large sections. One section accommodates people with children under 18. Another is all casitas, adults only, larger rooms, each section of casitas with its own pool and swim up bar. The other section is adults only but all hotel rooms. A very large pool area is available. Restaurants throughout the properties. Only slight annoyance was maid service. One evening we came back, turn down had occurred, but all towels were taken and not replaced. Another night, we noticed our water and snacks were not replenished. Another time coffee pods had not been replenished. All was fixed after a call to housekeeping. Otherwise, an excellent property & vacation property. Would return again.

We absolutely loved our stay at El Dorado Roayle Casitas! So much so I wish I didn’t have to leave. The staff was super friendly , our room was beautiful, the area was clean and super beautiful, the food was pretty good (although I wish they had more home-style Mexican food-we were in Mexico after all so I would of liked to have a more authentic Mexican cuisine while there). I will also add that you have to make reservations for dinner each night or else you most likely won’t be seated, and we never got to dine where we wanted because it was always full, so we ended up having to pick something that was open, even though we wouldn’t have chosen that restaurant. But overall, I can’t even compare this experience with any other, this one tops it by far. It was a nice get away from reality. Also, the golf cart drivers do their best, but even then sometimes it was hard to find them for transportation so we ended up walking a lot- but that’s no big deal as we would end up discovering new pretty places. Just make sure you bring walking shoes. We LOVED our stay! I hope to be back soon ! P.s. I want to add that we were told at one point we were going to be given a “free 25min couples massage” if we did a “tour” of Nickelodeon. But in reality, it was a sales scheme. They took almost 4 hours trying to convince us to buy vacation packages and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Ruined our last day since it took so long and was unclear. We wouldn’t have done it if we would’ve known.

This was mine and my husband’s first trip to Cancun and this resort was phenomenal. We stayed in a swim up private pool honeymoon suite and it couldn’t have been more prefect. The outdoor shower sounded gimmicky to me at first but that is something everyone should experience at least once! The candlelit dinner on the beach is very romantic and I highly recommend booking it. I don’t feel like going into detail about how great everything was, but it really was top tier! There’s also a few excursions you can book for no extra cost because they are part of the “more inclusive” thing that Lomas has started but we were enjoying the resort and relaxing so much that we just decided not to do any.

We had a very good stay at the Casitas. The food was very good quality for an all inclusive. The staff were all excellent. I would have given an excellent rating but we had some room issues. The roof leaked during a rainstorm. Also we had only lukewarm water in the shower. The shower was reported early but never a resolution. Otherwise, a great stay. The More Inclusive had some nice perks like a catamaran snorkeling tour, a water park.

We have been coming to this resort since 2012. Historically, it has been the resort to which we compare all other resorts. This time, however, our experience was not up to usual standards. We stayed in casitas (2702), and the main issue was that when we tried to fill the tub with water, it flowed out around the faucet. Maintenance said it was a leak in the wall, and they would have to break open the wall to fix it. Our stay this time was short, so we didn't want them to "repair" the faucet while we were there, but I am not sure we will be returning to Casitas on our next trip. The experience this time was not in proportion to the price for 4 days and 3 nights ($1800). Also, the air conditioner did not keep the room cool enough to sleep comfortably without sticking to the sheets. Finally, the rubber weather stripping around the glass door leading to the patio was falling off (probably why the room wouldn't cool). Our snacks were refilled on day 2, but not on day 3. We knew from previous visits that the beach was not the best, but this time, the beach was awful! It was covered in sargasso, and the smell was so strong in front of Casitas 26-28 that sitting on the palapas was unpleasant. In addition to the smell, the tiny bugs that live in seaweed were biting. The only beach area that could be used was in front of the presidential suites and the burger restaurant in El Royal. Food was not as good as it used to be. Four of 6 people in party got food poisoning.

The property itself is still lovely, but the rocky beaches make the opportunity to get into the ocean pretty impossible. Beachside Bali beds are a dream so still worth it.

the staff was rude, and inconvenienced, wait times for the shuttle were over an hour. Because it was my birthday they offered to make up for the arrival surprise that was paid for and not fulfilled. When booking, they FALSELY advertised that Casitas residents get a personal butler. Not once did anyone show up unless we called even during the day. Also, when we called, they would hang up on us. When we raised our concerns the concierge promised us a complimentary bottle of wine for our reversed romantic dinner to make it up to us. I speak fluent Spanish so i did not misunderstand. The restaurant staff did not know AT ALL what was promised to us and they tried to force us to sign for a tip while also blindsiding us with a $400 bottle of wine that is actually worth only $70 without telling us. We spent over $400 USD tipping the staff during our stay. We spoke with the concierge, manager, and restaurant staff and no one acknowledged any of our complaints. Furthermore, my wife was not shown any respect by the managerial/concierge staff and they continually ignored her because is an American Woman and I am a Hispanic Man so they ignored her, and disrespected her over and over again. the lace is just for weddings but not for a nice 5 star resort.

Worst Mexican resort I’ve ever been to and we stayed in the nicest part - the casitas. The resort is in terrible condition, food is disgusting, and the worst part is the service. The employees mislead you about requests, golf carts never come, maids don’t give you bath towels. The check in and checkout process were awful. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a golf cart to take us to the casitas after we arrived at the resort. At checkout, their credit card machine wasn’t working, so I was forced to take out money and incur $40 fee that they would not deduct from my bill. When I asked for a manager they said he was busy with another client. The employees at the front desk were nasty and rude. I would never come back to this DUMP.

There were some technical glitches with the app to order breakfast as well as the roomservice menue channel having to be reprogramed for pur room. The concierge forgot to get out luggage to the front after checkout. I was glad i checked so that someone could get them before our departure ride left.

We had a horrible experience in the spa which cost $400 USD and when brought to staff’s attention we were dismissed and told they would pass info along which they did not! We asked 4 different levels of staff for water and did NOT receive any. We had called the phone number for the shuttle arrangements before leaving Canada and did not receive the email with a code they said they would send so 45 min was wasted upon arrival at the airport. 2019 we loved this resort which is why we chose to go back but food and staff was definitely not up to par! Checkout process is horrible and spread over 2 days.

I’m a beach person so disappointed use was limited

Great if you just want to stay on property, eat, drink, and stay by the pool. Not great for beach time or adventure. Beaches have big ugly concrete blocks not far out in the water. Beaches often are rock or have a big drop before sand.

I expected white sands and a beach close to our room The sargassum seaweed was excessive, and was continually being cleared ineffectively from the beach, which actually didn't exist and the view was marred by concrete obelisks presumably there to prevent further erosion. So that it was not possible to enter the sea from the resort

We loved all of the options at El Dorado Casitas Royale! It never felt crowded like most reaorts. There were so many pools, that there was never more that 10 people in the pool at a time. Food was excelent. Service was incredible! We can't wait to come again!

Beautiful resort, plenty of options for food & enjoying the scenery. We loved the location and how we could utilize all the amenities at all 3 resorts. We do think there could be more signage for directions because the first day was kinda confusing on figuring out where everything was but once we did it was a breeze and the app was helpful.

Beautiful resort and we loved our stay. A few observations....just being nit-picky....need to iron out the room service - didn't get our order a few different times, Hard to get coffee and not many quick food options. No ice cream available.

Estuvo muy bien, la atención de Vianney desde un inicio fue muy buena. Todo mundo muy amable. Solo tuvimos problema en atención de dos solicitudes al cuarto de tazas para café y de café que se demoraron mucho o no se entregaron. El Cocotal para desayunos estuvo maravilloso. De los restaurantes temáticos el italiano y el Jade fueron más allá de nuestras expectativas.

I could choose to slow down and relax or be busy and explore, best of both worlds! Food and drinks are top notch, and the variety of food available is unbelievable. I wish I could have tried something from every place! Traveling solo, I felt extremely safe the entire time on the property and when out on activities. My casita was beautiful. I had a swim up third from the beach. I booked a massage and water experience with the spa right near my casita. I highly recommend El Dorado Resort and Lomas Hospitality for more inclusive travel.
