I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, had several issues that impacted my experience. First, I was surprised by an $8.00 parking fee that wasn’t disclosed when I made the reservation. I have stayed at this property 8 times at least. Employees are nice. I book this place because it has a nice pool for my grandchildren. This time the pool was closed, I was really disappointed because they did not say it was closed at check in and give us an option to book somewhere else. They offered no compensation other than they were sorry. Disappointing to say the least.

Only problem was that the pool was closed because the hot tub was leaking. They didn’t want anybody to fall into the emptied hot tub so they close the whole facility down.

The room was a good amount of space for our family. The bathroom was pretty dirty, it seemed that only countertops are wiped. The pool was also closed which was a huge bummer for us. We would have loved a heads up on this. The staff was great and breakfast was too!

I have stayed here 2-3 times before when skiing in Kirkwood/Heavenly, it's affordable and easily accessible, reasonably new/clean and we like the free breakfast. The downside is that this time and the last time I was here the pool/hot tub has been closed "for maintenance" - looking at other reviews it seems to have been closed for at least a year (?!) - borders on false advertising to not let customers know that the pool is not available.

The property is ok. Very convenient location in the Carson valley area. Room cleanliness was average. Our main concern was the bathtub area was quite moldy. That's was a big turn off. It's time for a renovation in the tub/shower space.

Check-in as a breeze. The floors were filthy in the room. We had to reclean feet after showers. The bathrooms could definitely use a deep cleaning. The breakfast setup was nice and had a lot of options.

This hotel was extremely clean. The front staff who checked me in was very friendly. Upon entering my room I realized that there was no TV remote in my room so I just went up to the front and they got me a new one and I was able to watch TV take a shower and go to sleep, which is exactly what I needed for the visit.

I liked the size of the room, the bed, the air conditioner, the breakfast, the staff was friendly. I didn't like the bathroom, the 2nd day of breakfast, where there wasn't enough food for everyone. They closed the kitchen already at 9:30am, and breakfast is served until 10am. Tahoe lake, I saw 10 miles on expedia. It needs to be fixed. All in all, a good hotel for the money.

Solid-big room ( suite), nothing fancy but did the trick for short family visit. Clean, and Staff very nice and helpful. Some things in the room could use a basic handyman-usb plugs by bed bent so not usable, drippy bathtub for example. Holiday Inn breakfasts anymore are pretty impressive although this location had the same offerings for 3 days straight instead of a rotation as others we have stayed at-good still, but variety is nice. Also pancake machine (a fav) was out the entire time as was pool and spa. Stuff happens of course. Stayed here vs usual due to dog traveling, would stay again if fur accompanies.

This particular Holiday Inn has recently changed ownership. The current daytime female general manager is mentally unbalanced and hostile to guests. She has no place working with the public. When I complained to her at mid day that the room I was in had not been cleaned for 2 nites she locked me out of the room (which I had prepaid for 7 nites), accosted me verbally, called in the Douglas County Sheriffs, and under refunded the balance on account to the wrong credit card. The sheriffs (3 of them showed up) confirmed that they were often called out to this property. This is the most expensive hotel in the area. And badly flawed in terms of management. Seriously: stay far away from this place. A lawsuit against this manager and the corporate entity that owns this Holiday Inn has been initiated.

Horrible service, called me on the way to the hotel to tell they over booked and couldn’t offer me a room , even though it was paid for and booked through hotels .com, they probably sold my room to someone else for a higher price

We had to wait an hour and a half to check in. When they gave us the key to the room we entered a room that was occupied and not the correct booking. So we had to go back down and wait 20 more minutes to be given the correct room and keys. After that everything was fine.

This hotel is conveniently located in Minden close to Gardnerville, Genoa and/or Reno. Plenty of parking. Clean rooms w/good a/c units, everything you need and there is always someone at the front desk. The breakfast is excellent and the ladies who take care of it, have a lot of pride in their work. Easy check in. There are some pretty walking trails within a short walk, lovely coffee shop(Oi coffee - great lattes and friendly service), Subway and gas station.

The staff was super nice from the second we check-in until check out! Our room was clean and the continental breakfast was very yummy! The texting service for contacting the front text was very helpful when getting extra towels, etc. It was a great location too, close to shops, places to eat, and the gas station for late-night snacks.
