Great pet friendly motel near Fremont Street. It doesn't look like anything special from the exterior but the rooms are spacious, comfortably and most importantly clean! Will definitely stay here again. The syaff was super friendly as well.

Spacious rooms with small kitchenettes & clean bathrooms. Plenty of tv options. Smoking isn't allowed in the rooms but they have ashtrays and little seating outside for that convenience

Basic motel. Dog friendly for a fee. Only clean room on request. Good location downtown.

Friendly Staff Clean Room with amenities & moderized. property appearance is reasobably upkept. Great water pressure and hot water, big mini fridge, microwave, clean ice easy to access parking, convient to freemont street, smart tv, nice bed, nice bigger table and chairs. I loved the price & to be honnest was thinking it may be sketchy at first or too good to be true. Then my wife & I saw the owner "Micheal" messaging everyone and actually replying to all the comments. The responses seemed honnest and reasonable, so we decided to give it a try since just staying one night & checking in like 10pm. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and nice. She made the checkin process very fast, and easy. We as a group stayed in rooms 12 & 15, and they were really nice and reasonable for what you are paying for. This is not a 5 start hotel, its a motel, but they have clean ice, drink machines, microwave, bigger Mini Fridge prob like 4 cu ft compared to the 1.7 usually found. The watee pressure was better than some of the 3 and 4 star hotels I have stayed at. I am one as my wife saya who likes to boil off my "old" skin so I know my "new" skin is clean, and they have very nice very hot water which I loved. We had plenty of towels and the bed was very comfortable. The only "downsides" if you can call it that is the cabinet doors arent straight, some tile were chipped on the edges and repaired without replacing the whole tile, the outside had not so many lights, but its vegas lol

Very Overpriced for what it is. Not well located. You can find better, chesper elsewhere on the Strip. The only good thing: free parking.

This place is absolutely beautiful! From the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but once you enter, you can really see the beauty in the rooms! Very spacious, with dining area and kitchenette! Nice large refrigerator and microwave! The parking is not assigned, and it’s not easy to turn your car around with the ‘one-way’ parking to be able to exit (we parked backwards to make it much easier to exit), and the parking definitely gets crowded on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The room was cozy. I like that we were far enough from the strip that is was quiet but still close enough to dive within 10 minutes. Would def stay again The only complaint( which is not the hotels fault) was when we went to park in front of our room we couldn't because the person next to it took up both spots. Other than that great place to stay!

I wanted somewhere low cost, with parking and no resort fee, no mention of bugs etc. This place is in a run down area, you check in via a window after ringing a camera doorbell. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, no bugs I could see at all. Everything hing worked so for what I needed I would use it again . The guy is friendly, prompt and does a good job with what he has.

We were looking for a reasonably priced room on a Saturday night and appreciated that the Desert Moon has free parking and did not charge a bunch of extra service fees, beyond the refundable $50 damage deposit. The Desert Moon provided us with a charming and traditional Motel experience. It's in a quiet location on Fremont Street in the older part of Las Vegas. The area just a few blocks from the Motel is vibrant and full of great restaurants and nightlife, and of course, the Fremont Street Experience. The room was well kept, freshly renovated and everything worked. We didn't happen to use the kitchenette, but on a longer stay would find it most useful. The staff was friendly, responsive and helpful.

Best surprise about this bare-bones drive-up motel is that it was CLEAN and QUIET! My room had a large screen wall monitor (many channels), 1 gray towel & matching wash cloth (soft not scratchy), SOFT gray & black checkered blanket & sheets, comfy bed (slept like a log), lots of drawers (but no clothes hangers), friendly check-in staff who offer 1 shampoo & 1 soap on request. Room also had a microwave, frig, stove burner, kitchen sink with fancy faucet, clean bathtub, black-out curtains, and excellent heater on a chilly night! Decor was black & gray with wood colored floor, no carpet - sparse but pleasant, seems to be a work in progress. Minor cons: No waste basket or hangers or hook on bathroom door to hang stuff, no iron or hair dryer or coffee maker. Is it safe? It's on Fremont Street, so out of their hands, but the drive-up lot was well-lit with strings of twinkly white lights; vending machine is in the lot. You can park your car in front of your room. Doors have sturdy bolts and extra safety chain. If you just need a cheap room for the night on Fremont Street and don't need "fancy," you should be fine here. Recommended.

Its not far from the strip. Room was nothing like the pictures. Jacuzzi didn't work properly, so we couldn't use it even after we cleaned it. The bathroom smelled like mildew. Not enough washclothes and towels provided without asking for them. Overall i would never stay there again, from management to the property everything needs an upgrade

Area was not safe. The tub was filthy. Not enough towels or amenities. There was homeless people soliciting and urinating in public. King size bed only 2 standard size pillows. Only 1 bath towel and 1 wascloth for 2 people. Drapes did not cover entire window for privacy. The door did not have additional latch for Safety. Bathroom outlet did not work. No toilet paper holder. The Motel advertised newly renovated rooms.

We did not make it to the motel until after dark and had to stand in a poorly lit courtyard to check in through a window into a dark office, super sketchy. The room we were in was incredibly dirty. Black stains on the sheets, black stains in the tub, stained plastic wrapped around the bed, holes in the bathroom door. Our stay lasted about ten minutes before we decided to stay somewhere else.

The motel was the only building in an otherwise run down area that looked like it was being kept up. The room was clean and the management was friendly and helpful.

The quality of the motel is about as expected for the rate during EDC weekend, but the service was fantastic. The front desk man was very kind and helped us into our room when we forgot our room key once. They also shipped my dresses back to me that I had forgotten after checking out and driving back home. There was quite a bit of dirt on the tile floor when we first arrived, but that was the only drawback I can think of, not sure it was entirely avoidable either, considering the door led directly to ground level outside. Overall stay was exactly as we needed for our weekend!

So I will say that the first impression of this place is creepy. But I will say that the room although it was a bit small was clean and comfortable and had everything that I needed for my stay. I didn't have any problems and no one bothered me. For the price I would definitely stay here again when I'm looking for a cheap Las Vegas stay. If you are looking for a luxury Las Vegas experience do not book this motel. But if you are wanting a clean comfortable place on a budget I would definitely recommend this place.

Room came with kitchenette as well as plates, bowls, pans, and basic cookware. Spa tub was very clean and the shower head had mild hard water stains but nothing actually dirty. Very good room for the price and the office lady waited for us to arrive very late at night.

Wasn't the best but, wasn't the worst I've seen. Was nothing like the photos provided. No bathtub. Shower was pretty small. It did have a mini kitchenette (fridge, microwave, stove, etc.) The bed was comfy until the bottom boards fell down, followed by the bed afterwards. They were not secured in any way. Definitely has potential to be a nice motel. Just has to have the right management that can put a little time and money into it.

There was a microwave, induction stove and mini fridge, but no coffee or coffee maker. Bring your own stuff. The walls of the room are thin so you do hear a lot of road noise. Earplugs are recommended. All of the staff were very friendly, except the last person I spoke to at checkout. Even tho I paid for a 3pm checkout, I was woken at 11:30a by an aggressive staff member who demanded to see my receipt for late checkout.

I see the owner on here responding to many about the reviews, and asking how he can make a 8/10 a 10/10. So I'll answer. 8/10 is about right. Let's start with the positive. The room was very clean. Most of the furniture is a bit older, but functional and updates have been made. A cool feature was a working burner top and plates/pots/pans and silverware. Microwave and fridge, too. Nice TV. As others have mentioned, the neighborhood might be intimidating to some. That's mitigated some by being able to park right in front of your door. That being said, it was very quiet. I have stayed in some seedy neighborhoods many times and there are often people outside the door or sounds coming from outside/next door. Not here, and I was here on two weekend nights. The downtown music/shows, which are often heard when staying close to downtown was not heard at all. Here are the suggestions I'd give. 1. Update the A/C unit. The unit in my room said don't turn below 74 or there will be ice build up and I came end of October when Vegas weather is still a bit warm. It wasn't unpleasant, but struggled a bit to keep it cool. I would suggest updating because I would want a colder room in the summer being from the north. 2. The door needs some weather stripping. There were cracks with daylight coming in around the door. I saw no bugs, but a few could potentially sneak in. If you want an inexpensive, yet pleasant stay without a lot of walking, I'd recommend. Great stay. Thanks Michael!

Arranged for a late check-in (9:30pm). Got there right in time… no one would answer the phone. I knocked so loud, the people across the street looked over, but the voices behind the door didn’t answer. Sent an email as well… finally got a response an hour later. Was told the doorbell was broken. I was already on my way to another place by then.

No coffee pot in room. I was on 2wheels so buying a pot would prove difficult. Owner went out and bought me a coffee pot. It was very important to me and she made sure I was taken care of well. Thanks so much.

Check-in was the only good experience I had. When I got to my room, the stove burner was on and it took me awhile to figure out how to turn it off. I had to cut my stay short because of an issue with the room. I tried to contact the, Emergency Phone Number, that I was told was always manned and I left a message, that was never answered. The Checkout was through a Ring Doorbell Cam and I could barely hear the person. The area is also unsafe. As I was driving away, just around the corner from the Motel, the Police were arresting a couple of people at 9 a.m.

Very discourteous people, when i went to check in i informed the clerk i had two service dogs she then proceeds to ask what they do i informed her that that was private and she was not permitted to ask when i went to the room the male clerk was standing outside the office watching me will not be going back

Had a great stay, would definitely stay here again. Smooth check-in and check out process. They were very flexible as i allowed an early check-in and late check out because of my flights. Thanks for a great stay!

The staff I worked with were great and very attentive. The motel itself was in a little more run down area of Vegas but the room felt safe and comfortable and you could tell they recently renovated.

Honestly wasn’t expecting much from here, but for the price and location I was pleasantly surprised. It is well within my price range. Internet speed was good enough for what me and my partner needed. Safe-ish neighborhood. I was able to walk around at night and not feel threatened or scared or what not, and I realise I’m a guy so there’s that but still. I’d rate it safe. It’s in walking distance to the famous Fremont street. Which saved a lot of money on Ubers or parking fees in that area. It could use a little more attention to cleanliness. However the owners were super attentive. They called me the day before and told me I had until X time to get there to check in. Well I almost didn’t make it in time as I was driving from LA. Not only were they more than understanding they were super kind and responsive despite it being very late at night. For future Vegas trips I will solely be booking here.

All round great property within walking distance of the Fremont experience. Very nostalgic feeling of old vegas. There was a homeless encampment at the end of the block but seemed to not have any affect on the hotel.

It was quiet at night and we slept well No coffee in the room, no dishes of any sort. There is a microwave, an induction cooktop, and a small refrigerator. Plenty of food delivery options. It worked well for us.

It’s a nice clean small place, we attended EDC this year and we liked that everything was close by, the room had a small kitchenette and for our stay it was just perfect. Super friendly owners and extremely helpful.

I had a few nights stay at the Desert Moon. I drove in from LA for a little business, didn’t want to deal with the big Hotel scene. Pros: Truth in advertising, not common these days. - Everything was what the site said. Room was clean, everything worked. (Kitchenette was awesome!) - To my surprise, very quiet. - Staff was friendly and helpful. I was checked in by the Big Aussie (don’t know if he was Australian but I like that handle). Check out simple – no touch (keycards in the drop box and rolled out @ 6AM) - Liked the towering MoonBall logo over the Motel, I used it as easy finder when finding my way down Fremont St. If you’re looking for granite tabletops and gold fixtures, the Bellagio has lots of rooms. It seems the emphasis at Desert Moon is no frills value for the dollar. Cons: Area Located in a working-class part of LV, and there are a contingent of folks that aren’t represented on the Las Vegas Strip glossies. How that impacts you as a Motel guest is completely subjective. One evening I walked from the Motel to 7-11 two blocks down with no issues. Mostly people mind their own business and its advisable to do likewise. But that’s my subjective assessment and experience. Overall, Desert Moon is saved on my phone.

The motel is located in old downtown Las Vegas, so don't expect lush surroundings like the Strip. Since it's on a main street, there can be some car noises late at night. It's only a few minutes drive from supermarket and inexpensive family/fast food restaurants, so very convenient for taking care of basic needs. The staff was friendly and helpful during my check-in. I only stayed three nights, didn't ask for housekeeping service, so can't comment on that. The room itself appeared to have been renovated some time in the past. Things looked a bit dated now but were still in good condition. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. If i were staying longer, I'd have used the small kitchen to save on meals, but not this time. If you're a glamorous tourist, this place is not for you. But if you're a practical traveler looking for value and can handle yourself in an older neighborhood, I'd recommend you take a look at this motel. I myself will definitely consider staying here again.
