Motel 6-Portland, OR - Central

We love staying at motel 6 because theyre generally really cheap and we only really need a place to sleep for the night. We did pay for a room with a refrigerator but didnt realize there wasnt one until we already unpacked. There was also people outside from around 1:00am to 4:30am being REALLY loud. But the lady in the office did call and check on us and was really kind. We would stay again because of how close it is to the alladin theater.

I expected to get a room with a mini fridge (It was stated that was available) along with a microwave upon request. Additionally, it was stated that coffee was served. I was not able to get any refrigeration for the food we brought, there was no coffee provided, nor was there a coffee pot to make my own, I didn't need the microwave (since no fridge) but that was also unavailable. I was told that the entire motel only has 2 mini-fridges and yet they advertise they are available for all rooms. My sheets had a burn hole in them.

We love the fact that the location was in the center of our destinations. Target is just on the side of the road, easy to run to to buy some essentials. There’s a few restaurants nearby. Our room was right beside the office, despite its by the road & a construction bldg nearby, we didnt find it too noisy at all. We are able to sleep well in that matter, though the mattresses were old & merely falling apart, i can easily sunk! The AC was not strong its more like a fan. No toiletries provided nor any hair dryer but I brought everything with us. No extra toilet paper either. The towels provided were so thin. Our stay could have been more disastrous than all of these but we have no complaints & was satisfied despite the shortcomings. The internet connection was terribly slow. What we hate about it was we were anticipating to use the swimming pool with our little kids only to be welcomed with some guests swimming in with their dogs in the pool. The water is visibly dirty. I don’t think that is appropriate. They should have more strict with their rules. We totally skipped it! Its an average place if you’re looking into spend a night or two. Its fine with us as we were mostly out for the day exploring the city. It could be better. The person at the desk is kind & welcoming & we are happy about that.

WiFi is horrible

Check in was a breeze and the staff were very kind and helpful, but my room was in rough shape. Black mold around the window, dust and hair all over the room, air conditioning unit filters weren’t clean at all, and the entire room just felt worn out and a bit tired - furniture had lots of wear, the mattress had little support. Not enough electrical outlets in the room, and one half of the bed had no night stand. The TV was okay, newer with good picture and sound. Shower was quite awkward and our room had water pressure issues which caused the shower to take longer than expected to warm up, but it did provide mostly consistent hot water after a few minutes. All in all, a solid 2 stars. You could do a lot worse, even if there’s a lot to improve on. The property does have a pool but it wasn’t open during our stay.

Good location very basic motel. No fridge no microwave. Broken shower knob. Very soft matress. Need a car to go around Portland. Unfortunately the homeless scene in Portland is so bad so I didn’t feel safe walking around at night.

The room was dirty. There was hair all over the bathroom sink and the shower. There was a huge spider and spiderweb by the TV. The bed felt uncomfortable. The property itself was not well maintained. There was a huge pile of feces in the middle of the parking lot when we were leaving that everyone kept driving over and spreading. Overall would not stay here again. It’s affordable but that’s it.

The room absolutely reeked of pot smoke and stale cigarettes. The AC was vandalized. Car alarms and drug use right outside our window, and suspected prostitution in the parking lot and nearby room. The shower pressure and temperature were decent, so that's something I guess.

Non smoking room reeked of smoke. Moved to another room by the very nice lady at the desk. Linens visibly soiled. Crumbs visible when the top sheet was pulled down. Shower floor dirty. I was offered a 3rd room but declined. Non-refundable room but I left.

They only changed the linens. They didn't even attempt to clean the room: all the surfaces had something questionable, sticky or dingy; they didn't move the trash cans to sweep so there was lots of hair and dirt; shower was scummy and black; floor hadn't been mopped in a long time; identified 3 different bug species. I let my 1 year old crawl for 5 minutes and had to wash the black off her knees, feet and hands. Ice bucket smelled like spoiled milk. Sink wouldn't drain.

Staff was very nice and helpful but the area was very unsafe. Rooms smelled very heavy of cigarette and the beds themselves were stained

The room was dirty. The bed had hair and dirt on and under the blanket. Bathroom shower had hair and looked really dirty. The night stand table was obviously not clean. It was sticky and had some type of residue.

We weren't expecting much from a Motel 6 in the first place, but this place is pretty bad. I'm pretty sure the shower actually made us dirtier. The AC barely worked at all, the sheets were ripped up and stained, the sink barely drained, there was dog poop all over in the parking lot which the employees never bothered to clean up, the carpet and walls were filthy....I could go on but you get the point. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere that may have been cleaned sometime in the last couple decades.

Its a cheap motel 6, we didnt expect luxury, we got what we paid for. The sheets were stained but they happily replaced them quickly and the staff was friendly. The tables and floors were a bit dirty but not absolutely disgusting.

Found a lot of hair at the bottom of shower stall before i took a shower. Shower curtain to short making the floor wet and slippy even with towel on the floor to absorb the water.

Our room smelt like cigarette smoke. The blanket on the bed had burn holes from what looked like cigarettes. The bed was lopsided so one side was very uncomfortable. We needed toilet paper in the middle of the night and we had to go outside in the rain to go get it from the front desk since housekeeping wasnt working at that time. Overall, I would never stay here again.

I want to be clear that the staff was super curtious but the facilities are pretty run down. There was a crater in my bed, i dont know how else to describe it. The bed was almost unusable because the middle was sunken in.

Not enough room given on both sides of the bed (a room for two?). Mattress was lined up with headboard, yet against the wall. Move the headboard?

I'm pretty sure the shower curtain has (at the least) urine all over it. Both mattresses were not the same, and I could feel all the springs in mine.

The property was ok, for the money I spent. But the bed was awful. The springs where totally worn-out on one side. Can't believe they still make people use it.

The staff were really great. The walls were thin and neighboring guests were boisterous. The overall clientele seemed to perhaps be longer term residents - houselessness transition project? Not our scene. When we left my 13-year-old said, "yeah, that place was sketch." When I asked her what made it sketch, she said,"the people."

It was what you would expect of motel 6. Just a bed to sleep in. Found hair in the bed and hardwood floors were an interesting choice. Nothing fancy. Rooms definitely need updating. Staff was great, very friendly.

Wow - Motel 6. Didn't really look much like the TV commercial. The room stunk like cigarettes so bad it was almost unbearable. I don't want to know what made the floor so sticky. I've slept outside and been more comfortable. There was a crazy LOUD noise coming from the plumbing in the middle of the night. I don't know what the source of the sound was, maybe a pump? The shower stall was shaking like crazy, brown water was coming out of the faucet. It was nuts but luckily lasted only 10 minutes or so. On the bright side, the woman at the front desk was great and very helpful. I appreciate her kindness. The TV worked and the door locked--maybe I'm being too picky for 70 bucks?

Room was visibly dirty. Sink was unusable jetting out water that splashed out all over the counter. TV is room was comically small. Booked for two nights but passed on the second night based off room conditions. I highly recommend spending extra $$$ for a better room elsewhere.

Stayed at this hotel while doing clinicals for school. The room I had had a smell when first entering. There was a gap at the bottom of the door. I was only there to sleep so it was an okay stay.

On three occasions the person at the desk gave our key to someone else someone who was not on the room and had no business being inside of our room

The front desk personel are always very kind and helpful. They call me by my first name and make me feel as they truly enjoy my company.

They checked me in but told us we couldnt both staay and wouldnt cncel my room. Charged me anyways. It was super messed up. Ive never had such terrible service from motel 6. Im going to write reviews on yelp googlend facebook. Im also contacting better buisness bureau since i cnt seem to get anyone to reply to me or call me back

Great staff at the front desk. Angel and Amanda stick out to me the most being helpful for my stay as long as I’d been there. Very helpful and go above and beyond.

The only problematic thing about the room was the mattress slid around on the platform bed frame. It was just me & I'm small, but it still moved around quite a bit. With 2 people, it would be a PITA. The room was clean & smelled nice. It was fresh looking & modern. Everything was clean & tidy. The staff that checked me in was just fantastic & so friendly. They knew I was disabled & checked to make sure I didn't need further accommodation. I just stayed the night prior to my early morning surgery & it was a totally peaceful experience. Thank you so much. Can recommend & would stay again.

Great customer service in the front! Angel, Amanda and the blonde lady (can’t recall her name) all were very helpful and sweet! Makes any issues you may have not that big of a deal there because the staff will take care of things to the best of their ability! Very personable

Angel was amazingly helpful to me just day before yesterday. Most of the staff in the office are great. Amanda is very efficient and the blond lady, I can’t recall her name is such a sweetheart all the time.

Brenda and the rest of the staff were most helpful and friendly in check in and during our stay.

I had a good room in the back to sleep and it was quiet. But the property is close to a busy street and I can imagine rooms in the front would hear all the street noise. If one needs a bed to rest for be fresh and ready for the next work day, then this is a good place to stay.

Pretty okay for a night stay. Lots of gomeless around the building and an active drug deal happened outaide our unit.

I mean, I didn't pick the motel six for the experience. Was just okay, pretty rough neighborhood but we're from Portland and knew all that going in! Totally decent and the ladies at the desk were helpful.

Staff was friendly and it was pretty quiet. Plenty of food options in walkable distance.

The construction next door was very noisy during the day. Traffic noise from busy Powell Blvd continued most of the night, but ear plugs let me ignore it. Otherwise the facility and particularly the staff were beyond good.

Affordable, Room was clean, staff was nice, and a good brewery next door

While staff were very nice and helpful, there were very many iffy people on and around the property. I really liked the proximity of Starbucks and McDonald's as well as Target (which I didn't need but was nice to know it was there), the police were active with people in the area, It's a weird combination of very nice and somewhat uncomfortable.

So we arrived in the afternoon and the lobby was locked so we had to use the night window It was difficult to hear the lady and I don’t think she understood us or could hear us She was polite - almost kept our credit card though The room smelled musty old and ‘cheep’ for lack of better description l. The room looked clean. The bedding was white without stains The floor looked clean but the baby’s feet were dirty quickly after running around. The pool was disappointing. There was stuff like leaves on top and one piece of garbage. No way to scoop it out, like a pool skimmer. Also there was stuff on the bottom. We asked about the pool but the lady didn’t know. I was concerned about taking my little one in it There was no toilet paper but housekeeping brought it when she over heard us talking. There was a bright light outside our room which the curtain didn’t block out. Over all it was adequate considering the price My reservation said fridge in room but there was none No coffee either 😢 Bathroom was clean with decent towels

Was chanced a refundable of 75.00 and have not received it back. There was no coffee and the room was okay.
