Stayed 3 nights

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel & very disappointing! Room had a musty, unpleasant odour when we checked in. Fortunately my portable Lysol spray helped with that. The room was in need of significant refresh & repair. Stained carpet, evidence of water damage & generally worn out. Quite noisy for 2 nights due to the bar across the street. The third night we woke up to scratching sounds in the ceiling so there is clearly a rodent problem as well. This was a very expensive 3 night stay for a very subpar room. Our first stay was 3 years ago & clearly no improvements or maintenance has been done since then. We will not go back to Hotel Caron the next visit to Paris.

If you ever book this hotel please make sure the room they give you isn’t the room on the lobby level. It’s the only room on the lobby level and feels like a converted maintenance closet. The air conditioner produces warm air and was noisy — they stick a tissue in it to try to relieve the noise but it didn’t work. The room smelled and felt dirty all around. You could hear loud music through the vent like it was playing in your room. We ended up staying in another hotel because this room was unlivable. They shouldn’t be allowed to rent this room.

My husband and I enjoyed this small boutique style hotel very much. Staff were very pleasant. Location was absolutely the best, close to shops, restaurants and Metro. Elevators and A/C were a priority when choosing a hotel and we had both. Very happy we chose this hotel.
