Check in was good, but the elevator operation is not user friendly. I know guest safety is the reason, but instruction wasn’t clear and then my room key card had to be reprogrammed. All in all, a poor system.

Easy access to the New York Thruway, and local shops for snacks and groceries. Front desk staff was incredibly hospitable and provided me with bottle opener when needed! Fitness center was busy but still accessible and restaurant/bar seemed nice (didn’t dine there but grabbed take out- it was good)

This has always been a solid hotel when I come to Troy. I was pleased to see the updated equipment in the fitness center and my family enjoyed the pool. Sadly, the room is starting to look dated with the wall paper literally coming off the walls. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom appeared to be in good condition. The front desk staff can be hit or miss. For the most part they are friendly, except for this heavy-set guy, who every time I stay there, looks at me like I am dirt. It is very off-putting. The breakfast buffet was very good although it you come near the end of serving time, some of the food is limited. Overall, I would recommend as long as you are able to get a good room rate

I appreciated the quiet, the cleanliness, the bathtub (rather than a walk-in shower), the sweet workout room (especially the elliptical), nice pool, comfy sheets and towels. Had a great margarita in the sports bar. But the very best thing was staff. SO efficient, polite, helpful, and the eagerly went the extra mile when I needed something!

This is my go to hotel and it is a good, solid choice when coming to Troy. The pillows were a little squishy this time around - I don't remember them being this way but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It was a heat wave weekend and I think that overwhelmed the cooling system because the fitness center was a sauna even with the oscillating fan that they stuck in there.

A great hotel but starting to show some wear and tear. I was extremely disappointed that both treadmills were broken in the gym. I will probably book elsewhere until these are fixed - having that access is essential to me for any hotel stay.

Carpet and bedding looked very old and dirty. Carpet throughout the hotel need to be replaced. We first got a room which had a weird smell (seems like some pet was there and room Was not cleaned properly). Though the room was changed right away but none of the rooms have a fresh feeling. Same boring breakfast every morning. We love staying at Hilton garden Inn but this stay was pretty bad

Dirty sheets with hair, stained bed cover, old pillows, two yapping dogs most of night next door, some recurring sound at about one minute intervals throughout the night. We are tired and glad to be checked out.

We checked in after midnight, exhausted from travel. All went well until about an hour in when our ac unit started making a shrill noise. I used the chat feature to make a report since it was the middle of the night and we were too exhausted to even move. We ended up having to switch off the ac just to sleep since it was so jarring (which led to the room becoming warm). We took video and audio evidence and told the front desk about it a few hours later when we checked out in the morning and was told that there's nothing they can do with respect to compensation since we "booked via a third party" We were offered snacks instead. The one reason we needed the room was to get sleep before the next leg of your trip and that was interrupted With the ac off, we could hear every voice and sound coming from the corridors and the street outside, so it was a no win situation. Since we didn't physically report it to front desk and move rooms WHILE it was happening (at our most exhausted in the wee hrs of the morning), I don't understand why nothing could be done compensation wise post-event due to this third-party excuse.

I really like this hotel. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The property is in fairly good condition despite the amount of business it gets. The beds are comfortable, pillows are too squishy for me, but that's OK. The bathrooms are stocked with the necessities. Towels are good. The breakfast is fabulous and the price is so reasonable. It's worth staying here over getting a free breakfast at the Best Western (BW room cost is often more than the Hilton). Also, the parking lot is big. We have stayed here several times because our son is a student at RPI. The one thing that we did not enjoy this visit was being on the Hoosick street side rather than the parking lot side. Every vehicle driving down Hoosick hit the potholes loudly which was quite disruptive. This is not something the hotel can control, although maybe making the City of Troy aware of the condition of Hoosick Street would be a good idea.

I should have taken a picture of my mattress and pillows. I could hardly sleep as the mattress was so bad that I was rolling to the floor. The pillows on both beds should have been thrown out. We all woke up early with back aches and neck aches. I told the mgr and instead of offering a discount he said he’d have maintenance look into it. I don’t think he believed me. I don’t usually complain but I’ve been loyal to Hilton and deserve better. I usually prefer booking directly with the hotel but tried your service. I’m not sure if you advocate on my behalf.

I wanted to not really have to write this review because my overall stay went really well until I arrived home and realized that my leather jacket was not in my suitcase where I had packed it. I notified the hotel and ask them to review camera footage and they played games with me for almost 2 weeks for they told me that a key interrogation revealed that no one had entered my room however housekeeping was in my room both times in the hallway and I believe that somebody entered my room and took my jacket it was a brand new black leather jacket. Management gave me the runaround as far as I'm investigating it and then the final communication was very disrespectful and passive aggressively rude and nasty I do not suggest you stay at this hotel unless absolutely necessary I'm sure there are other ones but my jacket was stolen and it took them a week and a half to tell me that they don't have cameras in the hallways when that's what they should have said initially they will protect their staff and protect their brand and if your things get stolen you will be at a loss so I did not appreciate the whole overall after experience with regards to my stay there they have thieves on staff

This is the worst stay that I have ever had at this hotel. The staff at check-in was rude and practically threw my room keys at me. There were kids running through the hallways screaming in the middle of the night. Every night there were dogs barking in the hotel waking me up. The only good aspects of my stay was the breakfast and the fact that I was able to get extra pillows for my room.

I did not feel comfortable walking around the neighborhood (radius of 2 blocks). There were a couple of homeless men walking around and parts of the neighborhood seemed rundown or abandoned. The hotel itself was very beautiful and comfortable so I just stayed there for most of the time. I felt safe within the botel.

The Troy Hilton Garden was clean, modern and convenient to the RPI campus. I also enjoyed the Recovery Sports Grill within the property - great menu and friendly staff. Definitely stay here again.

Very east access for us on a trip to Vermont. We were a little disappointed in the taste of the eggs at breakfast. Maybe not as fresh as at a diner? Otherwise, the best buffet we have had at this type of hotel.
